What a great coffee place in the CBD. This place has transformed itself since when I was working in this area. I had a filtered slow brew beans from Ecuador. Love the textile and the mild and smooth finishing. Food was also lovely. The Turkish common breakfast was excellent. It’s a vegan selection yet is was so delicious. The peta bread certainly goes well the this hummus.

Had brunch here. I really like the ambiance, location and food options. The stool out side was a little small for people who are 6ft. However, the food was really good. I had the savoy sourdough pancakes🥞😋. The first bite, I disliked it as it felt burnt. The subsequent bites after was amazing. The combination of the frozen butter and bacon was a great idea. I had the fries as well, it was decent. The service was good. Refill of water and other items we on point. The only issue I had was thefood took a long while to arrive. Overall was a good experience.

The service of the staff is unparalleled. They were all attentive and proactive, especially the lady attending to our table. They offered to swap our mocha with a hot chocolate when they noticed it was too bitter for our taste. Importantly, the food was great as well. Will be back again when time permits! No wonder that there are customers at the opening time of 0730 already.

It's one of the better places for brunch around the telok Ayer area but do note that prices may also be slightly higher. Coffee choices here are plenty and you can take your pick from the normal black/white or some brew coffees that they offer. Braised beef eggs Ben when I went felt a bit disappointing because the braised beef wasn't very strong tasting and felt hidden beneath the whole hollandaise and eggs Ben combo

There are quite a few cafes housed within the shophouses around Telok Ayer area, which are well-patronized be it on weekdays or weekends (despite the higher prices), & this is one of them! I had the Umami mushroom toast, a mushroom medley on top of chunky avocado & fresh focaccia (topped up for scrambled eggs), & it was slightly spicy from the togarashi. Paired it with Yuzu lavender kombucha, which had a strong yuzu taste but not much of lavender. IG @pingguo301

Another Common Man coffee outlet. Had tried the one in Joo Chiat earlier this year & was really good. This outlet at Stanley Street is nice too. Decor indoors is very well done which gives you a modern contemporary feel. Food and coffee were delicious & nice too. Only minor complaint is the price which is on the high side. Average check around $35-40.

Great brunch place with decent options. Slightly pricey but expected for its location. Coffee was great. We had umami mushroom toast and croque monsieur and they were also great. Small comment: the staff are not proactive to deter people smoking outside near their guests.

This place is a wonderful choice for breakfast and brunch. Their full breakfast is not only delicious but also comes in generous portions. If you enjoy slightly sour flavors, you might appreciate their cubano sandwich. Their coffee, on the other hand, is strong and smooth, making it a great choice for coffee enthusiasts. Be prepared for café-level pricing, which tends to be on the higher end. I would consider returning for their excellent coffee, although I might explore other outlets as well.

Love the ambience ... stone countertops, brass-hued trims and natural textures of wood and rattan! Common man takes their coffee seriously. The lemon thyme cake is moist and goes well with my long black. Having thyme on it is unique. Service is good and they take safety distancing seriously too. Rita is attentive and customer orientated. Good job! Excellent service!

Love the cosy chill ambience here ❤️ the brunch menu is extensive (albeit pricey). The food did not disappoint. Common Man Veggie Wonderland was filled with fresh ingredients which were executed really well. Common man burger came with thick juicy beef patty and herbed fries good for a hungry boy ☺️

One of the best places to have coffee in the CBD. Coffee connoisseurs would love their single-origin filter brews. Their cold brew, which is nice and chocolaty with the orange peel, is among my favourites. I wish they'd open for a little longer rather than closing at 5pm!

Gorgeous latte art if that’s your thing. Delicious flavors of coffee and nice ambiance with lofi type music for a nice relaxing coffee environment. Always a staple in my weekend coffee hunting.

Swung by Common Man Coffee Roasters @commonmancoffee for the Full Breakfast over the weekend! This STACKED plate brimming with an ensemble of flavours lived up to its namesake, with us leaving the place with our hearts and bellies full! We usually love our eggs scrambled, but we did not regret ordering their poached eggs and letting the gooey yolk run along the crunchy buttered sourdough loaf and crispy bacon. The juicy herb-roasted tomatoes and flavorful portobello mushrooms were the perfect companions, but what's more intriguing was the hashbrown. Lightly crisped on the outside with buttery strands of coarsely shredded potato, it reminded us of a super thicc rosti except in cube form. The pork sausage was the weakest link on the plate - decent though not spectacular, but nevertheless got the job done. . 📍 Address: 11, 12 Stanley St, 068730, other locations include Sentosa, Joo Chiat Road and Martin Road.

One of the best breakfast I’ve ever had! The umami avocado toast was so full of flavour and so tasty. Really nice looking cafe, with prompt and professional service. We were seated at the bar and had our water topped up fast. However, the food is quite pricey, especially the coffee is very expensive, we ordered the white coffee- it was okay but not the best Coffee I’ve had.

Went for a quick coffee break. Iced americano was pleasant and strong. The lemon pound cake was also dense and moist although the icing is a bit sweet. Lots of seating and space, and it's relatively quiet in the afternoon.

Having been here several times. The hand brew coffee is one reason we are back so often. Good selection of coffee (usually 4) to choose from, each with their tasting notes. They also have a food menu, which is pretty decent too.

Had cravings for pancakes this morning, compared a few brunch spots and found that there’s pancakes at this chain. Ordered my pancakes for $25 Singaporean dollars, and it arrived in maybe 3 minutes. Had a bite, it was cold so I asked the waiter to see if it’s been sitting for a while. He comes back and tells us that it was made this morning, the sauce on top was what makes it cold… from most places even McDonald’s, pancakes are made warm from the skillet. They asked me to pick another dish but there was only one dish I came for. When we paid for the bill, they refused to take the item off the menu and only offered to take off our coffees and gave us a discount. (My friend ordered another main for himself). Definitely not used to this type of forceful charging and was left with a terrible impression. Beware of this coffee joint.

Coffee is really good.. whoever the food is ok. Eggs Benedict were disappointing, the eggs were more like boiled and almost hard. The beef tasted weird.

Great place for breakfast on a weekend! Opted for the full breakfast set as well as the eggs Benedict. The serving for the full breakfast set was good enough for two to share, option of whole meal bread or sourdough to go along. Eggs Benedict comes with perfectly poached eggs and tasted very well. Service was prompt and place was quiet and peaceful minus the working crowd on weekdays! Recommended!

Though slightly on a pricy side, but loved the food and the coffee here. They have good vegetarian food options, I tried their grain bowl and it was quite filling. I also tried their slow brewed coffee which comes with detailed information about it's origin and notes. Overall, really liked the place & would definitely recommend their slow brewed coffee.

Visited the joo chiat outlet, but I think this is the original location. Popular cafe with a very cool interior. Prices are understandably towards the pricier side, and cafe only accept cashless payments. Tried their teas, which were very nice.

  • 4/5 Chanel C. 7 months ago on Google
The cafe has very nice ambience and the food is delightful as well. Coffee is so good. I always order an iced oat latte and it never disappoints. The pastries are from Tiong Bahru bakery so that’s great✨ Only one thing that is a blemish on this perfect spot, the female manager’s attitude. I didn’t get her name so I can only describe her as filipino, always wears a plain dark blue shirt and spectacles. As consistent as their quality of food and drinks, her attitude sucks every week I visit. She obviously doesn’t want to be working here and it really shows in how she interacts with customers.😒 But the rest of the service staff, especially one of the male staff. He’s such a gem of the outlet here. Always happy to see him ☺️ What I recommend: Chili chicken, pancakes (for those who have a really sweet tooth though), umami mushroom avocado toast.

Service is wavering, and though the food was delicious, prepare to pay tourist prices here. Atmosphere is nice when it’s not busy. We came here on a rainy day and this likely impacted the whole flow. Would I come back? Likely not with so many other cafes nearby.

Love a good brunch on a rainy Sunday? Then this is your spot. Fantastic coffee and great all day brunch menu. Our favourites - sautéed kale and creamy egg white + chilli chicken. Portions are generous and food is tasty. Exactly what you want for your ‘cheat day’. Only downside are the price points, but acceptable in my view due to the portion sizes.

Had a nice quickly lunch and the coffee was great. The interior was also fantastic and service was attentive. Food wise it’s similar to common man in river valley that more people are familiar with

Visited the cafe on sat afternoon for lunch (early 1 plus), and was full with lunch crowd. Sadly, there were no seats inside the cafe so we cant enjoy the inner aesthetics, so we settled for a table outside. We ordered Common Man full breakfast. Portion was huge, and tasted good. The highlight was their filter coffee, they have "slow brew" and "fast brew". The former allows you to choose your desired coffee blend, whereas the latter is batch brew by barista, and coffee blend is pre selected by barista (we can't choose the blend). We chose the Tablon De Gomez and Mutungati blends. I personally preferred the Mutungati as it has stronger wine notes, whereas Tablon De Gomez has a slightly sourish sweet notes. All in all, prices are pretty reasonable, and its a good place for gathering.

Comfortable seating with cozy interior that is leaning towards the darker side. Fresh Kale & Green apple juice, mint - $9 While refreshing and tasty, it came in an incredibly tiny bottle of perhaps 200ml..? 😣 might be insufficient to quench thirst or fully enjoy.. Full Breakfast $30 - chose eggs scrambled and sourdough over wholemeal. They have a full breakfast version for vegetarians as well. Quite pricey compared to other cafes, not worth the price. A bit dry overall and had to request for additional sauces. Unique rectangular hashbrown that had many crispy edges because it was shredded and fried into a thick block. All ingredients came in nice chunky portions, tomatoes and mushrooms smooth and juicy. Umami mushroom toast - $23 This was very tasty and finally worth the price! not too dry, with drizzled oil around the focaccia, really umami mushroom, a smashed avocado 🥑 base, as well as red prickly onions. However there were sections portions of it that was still overly salted but otherwise, can recommend this dish.

We enjoyed every dish especially the chicken. So crispy and well-spiced. Their flat bread was also very fluffy. Staffs were attentive and friendly. Nice atmosphere!

Not many people in the morning and able to get seat without queue. Good atmosphere and very comfortable. Great meals and great service.

From the commonman coffee family so it's all good. Great place for small casual business meetings or if you're looking for a place in the CBD to chill and kill time. They have more seating deeper inside the shop than you can see while standing at the door. Unfortunately, if you're alone you'll probably get the bar seats or something outside. Either way, nice place with nice coffee.

Situated in Stanley Street, Common Man Stan serves a dual purpose - a breakfast/brunch/lunch place during the day and then transforms itself for 'after dark'. I loved all the dishes I tried here (Cuban sandwiches are just ❤️, but so are the Açai Bowl and the Yoghurt Granola) and the Slow brew coffees I tried. Great service, great food!

  • 4/5 Isabel 2 years ago on Google
We scarfed down the croque monsieur ($18 + 2 for fried egg) and the Turkish breakfast ($26). Both were beautifully presented, particularly the latter with its vibrant colours. The fried feta cheese in the latter was an outstanding element tbh, creamy, crispy, salty... if only there was more than 2 tiny pieces! While the plates looked generous on size, the portion for these two items was good for light lunch but left us hungry before dinner. The iced chai latte was standard. The interior is beautiful! I did feel prices are steep. Still, I will return on a special occasion to try other menu items.

Very cute brunch location. Foodwise, everything needed more salt. The Cubano was pretty good. Also tried the beef cheek Benedict - very underwhelming. The bloody Mary was also terrible, would not recommend..no flavor at all.

Came slightly past lunch time on a public holiday. Wasn’t too crowded and didn’t have to wait for long before getting a seat. Really liked how chill the ambience was. Food was great, though on the slightly pricier side for lunch/ brunch. Really liked the turkish common man breakfast, the phyllo wrapped soft boiled eggs was a feast for both the eyes and belly! You get a good range of textures and flavours (saltiness from the feta and sweetness from the pomegranate).

Great service and delicious breakfast! We had the Common Man Breakfast which was huge. Especially loved the sourdough toast😍😍😍 will be my regular breakfast stop for sure.

Sumptuous breakfast accompanied with a nice cup of coffee. Highly recommend their signature Common Man Full Breakfast. Definitely coming back again. 👍🏻

Had been here for breakfast two times so far. Had tried the Common Man Full Breakfast, Turkish Common Man Breakfast, Housemade Hummus & Pita and the White Coffee. The white coffee and the pita (with both hummus and the new pumpkin) were very nice.😋 The inner room was pretty noisy, i think the sound insulation is not good.

  • 5/5 Plain Jaën Y. 3 years ago on Google
I love the donut of the day, strawberry. It’s lightly sweet and had this delicious filling. The flat white was also good despite mistaking all of my orders to be on takeaway. But I had a nice time sitting at the bar watching them whip up coffees beverages. They have other dishes on their menu if you’re up for a sumptuous meal. Great ambiance and good food!

Interesting options for brunch; not your typical breakfast. One word for coffee - AWESOME! The ambience and vibe is superb too. If you’re into great interiors, then you’ll probably like this place. Worth a visit!

Had a quick lunch there.. coffee is good and sandwich is great. Love the easy chill vibe that I am able to sit there eat and do some light reading in peace.
