I've honestly lost count of how many times I've visited this cafe. Location: Beautiful, relaxing Interior: Homely Staff: Friendly, educational This cafe lives up to its name of being a "garden of cats", not through cat-themed plants or growing cats, but through the tranquil aesthetic and atmosphere that draws you into a state of zen. I've been to many animal petting cafes (cats, dogs, owls, rabbits, flying squirrels, snakes...) both locally and abroad. However, Neko no Niwa is the only one that has ever had me considering visiting on a monthly (or even weekly) basis. There are many reasons why I bring myself to this cafe over and over again, but one of the biggest reasons is the philosophy behind how Neko no Niwa is run. On their website, the cafe describes their service as "for an hourly fee, customers can enter this space to play [with] and groom the cats, or just enjoy the therapeutic environment". I personally sympathize strongly with them as I don't believe you can truly get to know anyone (human or animal) if you approach them with the mindset that you "paid for their attention". Another huge reason is how the owners and staff interact with the cats like family, which is one of the things I look for in a good animal petting cafe, as I find their little family dynamics simply adorable. Whenever I leave Neko no Niwa, I can leave in peace knowing that the cats will be taken care of, in not only a humane but also loving way. Finally, the staff work hard to prevent overcrowding, unlike most petting cafes I've been to, giving you the most out of your time and money. They also make sure customers do not force themselves onto the cats, so that both the humans and the cats can interact in a safe environment. Unfortunately, looking at some of the reviews here, it appears there is still a small group of people having difficulties wrapping their head around the idea of mutual respect. I have never successfully interacted with cats anywhere in the past, but thanks to Neko no Niwa, as well as their friendly owners and staff, I now have many more precious little moments in my life, and I am hopeful there will be more to come.

First cat cafe in Singapore!!! Went there on a Sunday at 6PM, during that timing the cats were chill and sleepy. The cats are well groomed with very smooth fur. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ Maybe can go at different timing for cats to be more active. Not too sure. Not too packed considering its a Sunday. Staff are friendly. Reservations are required. Food and drinks are pretty average. Overall experience is still pleasant πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜Š

Had a bit of a hiccup here because the covid measures did not let our group size in, but the staff was absolutely nice about it and we worked out a solution. 😊 I rec people to call in advance and ask when the cats are more likely to be active, because a lot of them are asleep during our visit (at 2pm). πŸ˜… Still, many of them were calm and receptive to touch even while asleep. The staff even lured a few of them out with food so we can play with the cats. It's quite clear these elderly cats adore the staff too, and it's sweet to see. Entrance fee at 12 per person is OK by cat cafe standards. Most people weren't even having food or drinks. Their cakes though, were slightly on the sweet side. The cheesecake and iced mocha though, I found quite nice. Other: There wasn't any smell. The cats were all polite and trained to go potty in another separate area. They don't steal your food either. They had a comb for you to groom the cats. It's an open sitting arrangement where you don't have to be glued to one table and pray for cats to come. All in all, it's a good place to go and relax. Loved it!

Loyal customer+1! Hands-down the best cat cafe I’ve ever been to. Having visited most of the cat cafes in Singapore, this is my top pick for the cafe views and the playful cats. Staff are really friendly and would share with you the little details about each furry friend!

I booked 1 hour with drink before I went there. Staff there were very friendly and they gave me many helpful advices about how to take care of cats. Before getting inside, they asked me to wash my hands to keep it clean for myself and for cats. Although they had many rules to follow, it was not hard and it was good for the quiet environment they wanted to keep. They also had introduction which I could read and know more about the cats which were rescued and staying in their house happily. The cats were cute and huge. It was easy for me to pet them because they were comfortable with that and allowed me to pet them. The drink was hot, smelled good and tasted nice. The view from the window was beautiful, too

Had been here a couple of years back and am very glad that the prices didn't increase. The drinks and cakes are also very reasonably priced and there's a lot of nice merch to get here too! The staff were very friendly and proactive to help shyer patrons interact with the cats, even managing to coax them onto our laps πŸ’•

Great experience at the cat cafe. Staff were very friendly and were able to share a lot of information about the cafe cats. Since the cafe would be closing down later this month, that was my last time at the cat cafe. I will definitely miss all of the lovely cafe cats, the cafe atmosphere as well as the staff there!

Very chill place as long as there aren't noisy people..you can get drinks and cakes/tarts here. Cats are well taken care of, but customers have to understand that it is not a petting zoo and don't disturb the cats when they're sleeping, eating etc. I like the selection of souvenirs and cat-related merchandise. Staff are friendly and you can ask how to book for private event also

Staff were polite and friendly, shared about the cats and how we could interact with them. Cats were all soft and cute with a great view of the river by the windows! However, most of the cats were sleeping or were not very interactive at the time when I went at 6pm with around 10 customers in the cafe. Still a great experience with lots of food & beverage options and even card games to play with!

Peaceful and quiet place, especially in the evenings. Popular during school holidays in the day time. So if you prefer more space and quiet to yourself, evenings or early mornings will be your best bet, plus the cats will be more active during those times. Rates go from 1 hour and above. But to get bang for your buck, 3 hours/whole day pass will give you more time for them to familiarise and open up to you more. Sometimes, I even bring my work over to do it with the kitties. They're relatively friendly, considering the sensitivity of cats in general. If they don't like the interaction, they'll mostly simply move away instead of biting or scratching, which is good for kids. Approach slowly and gently, especially if there's a lot of ppl in the room who are vying for their attention at the same time because they may feel a little overwhelmed. If you're not sure, you can always ask the staff. Shop assistants and owners are very hospitable and helpful, checking in to make sure you're comfortable and if you need anything, especially if you have a hard time connecting with the cats. They'll show you how to get the cats' attention or how to play with them and provide with the toys to do so. If you have any questions on cat care, they'll be happy to answer you too. For food and drinks, it's good, even if a tad pricey, but expected of a cafe in the city area. I love their hot/cold tea options, and their Earl Grey Ice Cream Cookie especially. I just wish they sell hot food too, but they're strictly only desserts and drinks. So if you are hoping to have a meal, you need to have it somewhere else first before coming in. Make this place an after-meal/dessert hang out. They also have adorable merchandise both for felines and feline lovers. I got the crocheted paw coasters, which worked well for both hot and cold drinks. They engage local artists to design their merch and all cats are adopted from shelters. Support for both local artists AND cats! β™‘

We came as part of the celebration of my daughter’s birthday. Interesting concept. They do take care well of the cats. You are asked to take off your shoes and wash your hands with soap before entering the space. Once in, you are free to interact with the cats (if they want to interact with you). This is kind of the challenge as almost all the cats were asleep and those awake did not wanted lots of interaction. Overall still an interesting and worthwhile experience.

We went there around 5pm and about half the cats were sleeping. Really nice experience nonetheless and the staff were really friendly as well. You could go there to study as there is a full day pass, but I doubt one can focus with that many cute cats around. First hour: $12 Subsequent 1/2 hour: $5 Full day pass: $32 Drinks are not included but available for purchase. You aren’t able to bring in your own drinks, which we didn’t know but they were kind enough to put our drinks in the fridge while we were in there. Overall it was a great experience (compared to the dog cafe @ Bugis) but will probably not go again unless a friend wants to go as I could not interact with the cats as much as I thought.

Extremely clean and laidback cafe to just relax and take a break. The staff are awesome and there are also cat products sold at the counter. It is nice to support local businesses =)

Pretty kitties but a little disappointing that most of the time they are sleeping. And yes it's normal for them to sleep 18hrs a day. Didn't really get much interaction with them and the entrance fee abit high hence didn't really feel worth it. If you just like to look at sleeping cats then this might be for you.
