Where
to
start.
Serene
Centre
has
been
a
hangout
for
me
since
I
was
a
kid.
I
remember
playing
Magic
The
Gathering
every
Friday
outside
Comics
Mart
and
it
was
very
happening
during
the
weekends
with
tournaments.
The
McDonald's
then
was
two
floors
and
it
was
a
place
for
students
nearby
to
hang
out
and
study.
Comics
Mart
closed
down
and
the
space
was
reduced
for
McDonald's.
At
that
time,
there
was
a
video
rental
shop
and
I
borrowed
many
VHS
movies
to
watch.
The
toy
shop
at
level
2
was
at
its
biggest
and
they
also
sold
cards.
When
McDonald's
was
reduced
to
a
single
floor,
Tierney’s
Gourmet
took
over
and
they
sold
many
attas
stuff.
The
French
Bistro,
La
Petite
Cuisine,
expanded
from
the
corner
when
they
have
makeshift
tables,
to
a
more
established
shop.
I
saw
Island
Creamery
do
the
same,
from
the
same
corner
shop
to
a
bigger
shop
around
the
middle.
That
corner
place
is
really
lucky
because
I
see
micro
bakery
expanding,
too.
Now,
Serene
Centre
is
serving
a
different
crowd.
I
rarely
go
up
to
the
2nd
floor.
