Located conveniently along Jalan Besar, @newfutkai an all-vegetarianLocated conveniently along Jalan Besar, @newfutkai an all-vegetarian restaurant not to be missed! Offering a plethora of dishes from traditional as well modern fusion dishes, hence is sure to be loved by all vegetarians & even the meat eater!! As a meat eater, there isn’t a single thing about the dishes that I didn’t love. What makes this place even more amazing is that it has a lot of vegan dishes & most of their hot pots have vegan options. What I tried, Charcoal slow cook Miso Soymilk Hotpot. Surprised by the rich milky flavourful & nutritional goodess of miso & soymilk broth with chock-full of healthful ingredients for body-restoring boost of vitamins & beauty-enhancing. Here you can find broccoli, sweet corn, shimeiji mushrooms, chestnuts, peach collagen gum, fried tofu wanton, yellow beans, huai shan, red dates, black fungus and wolf berry. So hearty. Crispy Roast “Pork”. Handmade from crispy soy skin & lion mane mushroom filling, this really resembled its actual counterpart. You can have it alone or pair it with the sweet sauce & wrap with lettuce & you get a different form of enjoyment. 2 taste in 1 dish! Pumpkin Butter Sauce Mushroom. This is the best for me! The mushroom was lightly battered & deep fried till crispy on the outside yet locking in the mushroom tenderness & moist inside. Paired so well with the thicc pumpkin sauce. Love it. I had so many of it & literally wants to have the entire plate to myself. Olive Fried Rice It's so tasty, hearty & well balance of taste. Most importantly it is not oily. Teochew Yam Paste This is scrumptious! It arrive looking watery & unappealing but when give a good stir, it thickened & I love it how it taste yammy but not heavy so it doesn't weighs you down. Longan Sea Coconut Lightly sweeten & very refreshing. Flower Tea. Aromatic Taiwan Flower Tea. It can be quite therapeutic on its own. To me @newfutkai is a family-friendly restaurant with outstanding service & remarkable food. Their portions are more than sufficient & completely worth the price. Would certainly recommend to both vegetarians & non-vegetarians! Looking forward to return again to try out the other dishes Follow me on IG: @zoey_belle_ TikTok: @zozobelle_

This is always the place we go for as a family eating choice. The vegetarian dishes are tasty and there's a wide selection on their menu. Staffs are attentive and helpful to recommend if you're not familiar with the choices including how many dishes to go for in terms of portions too, definitely worth your visit anytime.

The food was not bad - a great vegetarian zi char style. The real disappointment was having made a reservation via Google online, requested for the laksa hotpot and it got missed. Despite having an email reply that the booking was noted. Upon reaching the venue, they missed both our reservation and the request for laksa hotpot - it was sold out by dinner time. Hence, we were unable to get this for our vegetarian friend whom is here in sg for a night, and had wanted to try this.

One of my favourite Chinese vegetarian restaurants; visited multiple times! Fully allium-free and with plenty of vegan options clearly indicated on the menu. The menu features healthy housemade dishes that draw inspiration from TCM. They are known for their signature charcoal hotpots (my favourite is the yuzu coconut miso hotpot) but their other a la carte dishes are great too (my favourites are the yuzu sesame toufu, pumpkin butter sauce mushroom, tempeh mix veg padang curry, and sweet potato ring). They have seasonal specials such as Korean and Thai-themed hotpots, as well as weekday value sets. Around 10 minutes' walk from Farrer Park MRT, Lavender MRT, or Jalan Besar MRT.

Table of 12 pax, 8 dishes, total spending sgd300 Pumpkin butter sauce fried abalone mushroom is the best! Crispy honey roasted pork is unique. Tomato sliced dish soup base is not thick, we prefer the original soup base. Curry fish taste abit sour, but the chef claimed that is normal.

New Fut Kai Vegetarian food availability: 5 stars Good hotpot place. Highly recommend it to those who enjoy Asian cuisine. We went here for Mother’s Day celebration and we were ecstatic by their food and service. We ordered the Mother’s Day special hotpot with coconut water and miso. I was amazed by how delicious this soup tasted. I still crave it. The vegetables in it are also really good. Especially, the soya and tofu. We could refill our soup as there was an endless supply of soup. They had exotic ingredients in the hotpot such as chinch nuts and Chinese dates. Alongside that, we took the laksa hotpot and it was delicious. It had the flavour of coconut milk and a little spice. The charcoal in the middle of the hotpot made it feel authentic. There was also the sambal fried rice which was flavourful. The desserts were scrumptious. I loved the black sesame paste which was grinder delicately, the coconut sea longan was sweetly refreshing and the yam paste was not really my favourite (as I hate yam) but my family enjoyed it. The service was professional and they were amiable. I definitely recommend this place. 10 out of 10 would revisit again. I also loved that they gave free chocolates for Mother’s Day.

Soymilk Miso Charcoal Hotpot is filled with all kind of superfood ingredient. Red dates, shimeiji mushroom, peach gum, sweet corn, chinese yam, toufu wanton, broccoli, black fungus, wolf berries, chestnut, yellow beans, soy milk, miso and charcoal. There’s even description on their menu on how each kind of ingredient benefit us. The savouriness of the soup is actually quite comforting. We like how the Chinese Yam (Huai Shan) were crunchy unlike the usual one that we always had which is soft. Yuzu Toufu was reconstructed with add ingredients in between. The outer layer was deep fried to crisp, bitting into them with a crunch. They were drizzle with sesame mayo, topped with cashew bits and yuzu giving it a refreshing taste. We also have the Mala Fish and Ee Fu Noodle which is kind of the safe dish for those who want to try New Fut Kai as these are the common taste of mala fish and zi char ee fu noodle. Not really spicy but it can satisfy your mala crave. We also enjoyed the aromatic Taiwan Flower Tea. It can be quite therapeutic on its own.

Other than their charcoal hotpot, I will recommend to try their weekday value meal that is available during the weekdays (Not available during Public Holidays). They have a wide variety of options to choose from the value meal such as traditional favourites, healthy rice dons, ramen and bento. Each value meal comes with a healthy drink, their food portion is also very generous with lots of fresh ingredients in it. Will go back and try more items from the menu, recommended to make a reservation before going.

Been loyal fans of @newfutkai which serves delicious vegetarian Charcoal Hotpots and zichar dishes at affordable price. Fusion style food with exquisite presentation and innovative dishes keeps us coming back to try different items from their extensive menu. 🥣Peach Gum & Bamboo Pith Sharkfin $15: Indulge in bowls of thick & nourishing soup without any damage to the eco-system! The use of peach gum was a clever replacement to the usual sharkfin. We loved to add vinegar and pepper for better enjoyment of this comfort bowl of goodness. 🥬Shan Yao Toufu $14: Unique crispy toufu deepfried to golden brown topped with flavourful pickled radish and served in a bed of greens. The batter was light and toufu was smooth & flavourful and paired perfectly with savoury pickled radish. 🍄Pumpkin butter sauce mushroom $15: Mushroom were deepfried to perfect crisp that gave the perfect crunch. Pumpkin butter sauce was fragrant and tasty. Can't stop munching on this dish. 🍚Olive fried rice $8: Amazing wokhei packed with robust fragrance of olive. First time trying this dish and I won't hesitate to recommend this to fan of olives. 🍠Teochew Yam Paste $4: Love how smooth, rich and and creamy their yam paste was. Coconut cream was light and fresh. Perfect dessert from their menu. You will definitely like this! 🍮Osmanthus Jelly with Goji $4: Refreshing and packed with natural sweetness! 🫖Triple Chysanthemum Goji Tea $6 Can't wait to be back to try other dishes. Try @newfutkai for yourself and I am sure you will leave with satisfied tummies after your meal.

My food had a strand of hair in it. When I told the waitress about the hair, she was quick to take the food away without any qualms, but it is still extremely unacceptable for a food establishment to serve food like this. Other than that, the food had too much SALT and too much MSG that in every single thing that was ordered. If I were to compare, it would be around 1.5x saltier than the nongshim shin ramyun cup noodles. Overall, will not be returning again, as the taste and quality are not up to par when compared to other vegetarian options.

Delicious vegetarian hotpot. As a hotpot lover, this really hit the spot. The laksa broth was flavourful and full of body. They are very generous with the ingredients for the hotpot, feel that with side dishes it could easily feed a family of four. With the visit. Make advance reservations to avoid waiting for a table.

Tried the vegetarian handmade cod fish, really amazing as it is soft and tasty (different from most of the vegetarian shops around) The brocolli vegetables are fresh and crunchy. Single serving Soup taste awesome w lots of ingredients too. Will definitely return to eat again! 5/5 stars!

One of our favourite vegan-friendly restaurants to dine at. The moment I found out they had vegan laksa hotpot, I knew I had to try it. And this is our 4th or 5th (I forgot) time there already. My husband and I always order the same things - Vegan Laksa Hotpot & Xin Hua Mee Hoon. Can’t go wrong with this combo! They also have other unique vegan dishes that can’t be found elsewhere, but need to go in a bigger group else we can’t finish them as the portions are very generous. This time we tried the Yuzu Toufu for the first time, it was crispy & the sauce was so refreshing! It might be our new favourite side dish 😂 Some of their staff recognise us already and will come and joke with us. Always an enjoyable experience 😆 Definitely recommend to go with your family!

My all-time favourite dishes are their deep fried oyster-mushroom in pumpkin sauce, mock eel with petai and nonya curry. Recently tried and loving their fried basil nutty cashew pesto Wantons, crunchy glazed Lotus root date, yuzu toufu, charcoal sesame toufu, vegetarian roast duck and crispy roast pork. All are creative handmade dishes (see photos).

Last 15 years i regularly visit this shop and every time i get satisfied. Taste is always maintained well. Those who are Vegitarians are going to enjoy this place & unique taste. Mostly aprox 95 % Menu items / recipes are Vegitarians & few items only may available with option of containing eggs. Those who are pure Vegitarians for them must visit place.

I usually order the food here as take-out but I finally decided to dine in. The food here is consistently good and the presentation of the food makes it quite appetizing. What makes this place amazing is that it has a lot of vegan dishes and most of their hot pots have vegan options. My favorite dish from her is the Longan Sweet and Sour Pork (not pictured in the images).

[Alliums Free Veg & Vegan options available] These are my earlier @newfutkai lunch situation with fellow V food lover friends. We eat eat eat, busy chit chatting & also taking photos haha😋 Their zichar is legit delicious! 回味无穷! We had the following dishes and I likey everything! Legit good zichar session. 💚 Ah Ma ‘Fish Head’ Charcoal Hotpot - oh the soup is so comforting! Love soupy stuff and ingredients in it! Also, ain’t the charcoal hotpot looking so cool!? Recommended! 💚 Signature Platter - consists 5 dishes in it. Handmade tofu wanton, Chef made roast duck w mushroom, Glass vermicelli, Asparagus, shimeiji w lily bulbs & buttered sauced mushroom 😋 Would recommend this! It include many type of dishes in just a plate. Everything is so good! Highly recommend you to try their tofu wanton!!! I like it a lot and hope you too 😋 love the green in these too 💚 Xing Hua Fried Vermicelli - I find that it taste better than it look. This is a little wet. Not too dry sort of fried dish. The nutty taste due to the peanut, I love 😍! 💚 Sweet Potato Ring - Hand-made traditional sweet potato vegetable delights! Uniquely different from usual yam ring. 💚 Yuzu Tofu - so soft so good! Contain yuzu, cashew nits drizzled with sesame mayo 💚 Sambal Mushroom with Pei tai - Love the peitai! Shiok! 💚 Teochew Yam Paste 💚 Drinks: Citreon Peach Gum; Ginger Red Date Tea - if you like cold drinks, go for Peach Gum drinks to have collagen boost. If you like hot drinks, ginger red dates is so comforting

The steamboats at New Fut Kai never fails to disappoint. At this point, I have tried tomato 🍅, laksa and "fish" 🐟 steamboats. They are a little pricey but worth it. I particularly like the tomato broth. The place gets crowded 😎 quite easily, so if you are coming as a big group do remember to make a booking. The ala carte dishes are also great, we had the Huai San (Chinese yam) vegetables 🥗 and they were just nicely cooked, and still had some crunch to it. Overall, a great place to share a good, hearty vegetarian 🥕🍛 meal with family 🫂 and friends.

Based on the order, the dishes that came out to be friendly to my tastebud were the Laksa hotpot, Nonya curry fish, pumpkin butter mushroom. The rest are nonsense - either bland in taste or the quantity were questionable. For instance, the gongbao lion mane mushroom, the dried chilli is more than the cashew nuts and the mushroom. Paid $30 bucks just to eat dried chilli? The shaoyao toufu is tasteless as well. The tanghoon in the platter dish was tasteless as well. Their HongShao hotpot weren’t savoury nor tasty. It was more of vegetables than mock meats. Another nonsense seasonal dish. The ladle doesn’t fit to the small hotpot as well. It makes scooping difficult. I don’t think paying $450 to dine here is worthy. Should had gone to Green On Earth at Railway Mall with spacious dining space and tastier dishes.

Ordered the 'Tomyum hotpot' and the lotus and corn in the hotpot were so hard...took long time to chew and break them up. The dish 'Pumpkin oyster mushroom' was a total disappointment! It supposed to be crispy yet because of the pumpkin sauce as garnish, it spoiled the crisp. The drink 'Barley chestnut' is preserved drink served with plenty of ice cubes. Thought it was homecooked!

Badly organised on 7 May. Delay for 130hrs. I call to order at 1130am he told me to collect 15min later, I told him I shall collect half at 12 to 12 to 1215pm. Unfortunately when I reach there. I saw 5 people queuing, all this people queuing just order. Unlike I order 45min ago. I waited patiently but unfortunately late part I noticed my order was send in after the 5 person. You see how angry to wait there for more then 1/12hours without a apology. people.

Excellent Chinese vegetarian food. There's a wide variety of dishes on the menu; the portions are large, but the food isn't too oily, so you leave pleasantly full yet not weighed down. The menu has pictures of every dish, which should be helpful for tourists. My only complaint is that -- like most Singaporean Chinese places -- the menu is clearly designed for families or groups who can share multiple dishes; if you're eating alone, about half of the dishes would be too monotonous to eat by yourself. But overall, it's very good. We've eaten there a dozen times, and will certainly be back.

Came here to celebrate my MIL’s birthday because she’s a vegetarian. Found the food to be ok. Some were nice but most were average. The reason I’m giving a one star is not because of the strand of hair we found in the duck dish. It’s because after we informed them about the hair which we found curled up and tucked within the “meat”, the man who seems like the boss there said, “we don’t have anyone with long hair in the kitchen”. I don’t know if he was insinuating anything but it sounded very much like he was accusing us of putting the hair in the dish ourselves. They made a new dish for us even though we insisted that we were too full for that. We weren’t asking for anything when we highlighted the hair. A discount would have been nice or a simple sorry would suffice.

It’s a special vegetarian restaurant with different charcoal hotpots choices. Great time to hang out with friend there. The coconut hotpot I tried which was tasty, healthy, beauty ( peach gum) worthy to try :)

  • 3/5 X 4 years ago on Google
Food quality is inconsistent. On the first visit, mushroom hotpot flavours were superb - rich herbal broth thick with umami. The noodles were surprisingly flavourful as well. On the second visit today, the herbal broth tasted diluted by 50%. The noodles and kailan dishes were so bland, I had to add lots of soy sauce. The inconsistent food quality makes it hard for customers to return, especially if prices are on the higher end.

When you hear vegetarian, you often imagine processed, fried, unhealthy food. But this is tasty, hearty, whole foods. Great portions, sauces, soups and tea to boot! book in advance to ensure seating!

I'm vegetarian, so I've never tried steamboat before. AMAZING! The soup was so rich and flavorful I couldn't get enough. Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. The servers are utterly indifferent to your existence, but the food is so good I don't care.

I loved the PURE VEGETARIAN and Vegan food preparation, ambience and quality. Interesting vegetarian restaurant which serves various Chinese, Japanese and Thai delicacies.

  • 4/5 Shumin C. 3 years ago on Google
This is really one of the best vegetarian foods I've had in a long time. The battered abalone mushrooms with yellow egg gravy were very well prepared and presented. Same applies to the white yam (Shanyao) dish accompanied by milk cabbage. On the negative side, this restaurant charges $12 for supplying hot water which is unacceptable from any point of view. A 3 to 4 dollar surcharge would have sounded more reasonable. I also would not recommend their membership programme as members' privileges are not honours based on a glitch in their system and on the avocado platform.

Had the butter mushroom, peach gum with bamboo pith soup and nyonya chap chye. Love the mushroom and soup and tasty. Dont like the chap chye which had a very strong bamboo shoot smell and overall not tasty enough.

Only the charcoal tofu is good. The miso steamboat is too salty. The rest of the dishes are nice but serving is very small. Miaoyi food is better, serving slightly bigger and price about the same . Conclusion : For the small serving and so-so food, it is considered pricey.

First time dining here as a birthday celebration. The hot pot was good including the beancurd with nai bai. The rest was alright. It is unfortunate that the flower tea only allows water refill once. Am surprised that a restaurant offers such restriction which leaves an indelible impression after a somewhat pleasant dining experience. Parking can be a problem here. Try the Jalan Bersah Stadium if u can’t find space along the street parking.

Very lousy attitude of waitress...asked whether can replace the yellow noodle in lor mee with bee hoon, cos I'm allergic to yellow noodle. She say cannot change bluntly. Told her we used to eat there and always change yellow noodle to kway teow or bee hoon...she said I have not been there for a long time. I was so turned off with the inflexibility now and walked off without eating anything...our family and friends used to love dining at新佛界 and will always recommend to friends...looks like we will not go back there and will share with friends about the inflexibility.

Had their Soya miso hot pot (that uses traditional charcoal to heat the pot, who even does that now?!), 2 other dishes (asparagus & crispy "chicken") and a pot of flower tea. Food was very tasty and not oily. Good portion for 3 people and total bill came up to $70+. Fast service. Nice little hidden gem along Jalan Besar. Highly recommend.

Ordered the Yuzu steamboat The soap base is surprisingly nice. The first impression on the taste is not so well, but slowly it gets better and you would be craving for it again. Would like to go back another time to try out other soup.

Good is delicious and consistent. Had Yuzu and coconut hotpot, interestingly they had peach gum, white fungus in it. A refreshing hotpot. Also had Mala chicken, but was a bit oily to my liking.

I often enjoy vegetarian foods with friends. However, that was a very first time to feel that a vegan dishes can taste so much similar to ordinary nonvegan food. Watching charcoal fire stretching out from the laksa hotpot just makes me feel like to have a fine feast in antique place. #charcoal #fire #laksa #hotpot #veganfood #vegan #vegetarian #laksa #eastern

,. 1. Ah ma “fish head” charcoal pot S$26 Traditional taste of yam, fish slice, tofu, in milky goodness and broth. Served with a healthy dose of vegetables. Love the charcoal pot that keep the pot warm. The soup is tasty and rich, best match with a bowl of rice 😋. Yummy. They also give. Extra big bowl of soup for refill ,. 2. Butter milk battered king oyster mushroom S$14 My favorite dish, delicious, with cereal on it. Make it addictive 😋 must order. ,.. 3. Triple mushroom broccoli S$15 As I like my Broccoli softer, so I asked for it. This is relatively light and refreshing in favour. Vegan, would prefer it have stronger favour though. ,. 4 Ee Fu noodles S$8 My favorite dish to order whenever I go to vegetarian restaurant. This didn’t disappoint, with generous amount of mushroom, a tasty plate of noodles. 😋 5. Taiwan Flower Tea S$6 (pot) Review as posted on my IG: yummymich

Very nice vegetarian food. Value for money. Love the steamboat and sambal grilled fish. I usually dislike ginger but their ginger fish taste great too. The steamboat is full of ingredients, mostly real food and veg.

This place is famous for its vegetarian hot pot with varieties of soup base. There’s others ala-carte items like tofu, vegetable, mock fish & mock meat. Noodles & rice dishes available during lunch hour. Vegan options available to remind staff earlier. While they serve up good food, I find their dishes tend to be fried and slightly oily. Service is quite efficient and fast paced. 2 toilets available which conditions are not so desirable especially during peak hour.

Frequent goer of this place and food has always been up to standard. though not as affordable as in the past, but worth it for the taste. Only drawback is the service and attitude of the floor staff. totally unpleasant service received hence the review

Love their Ah Ma' Fish Head Charcoal Hotpot! Rich and and slurp-worthly, can't get enough of it. And their Triple Mushroom with Broccoli is a must-try! It is well seasoned and fry to perfection. Soda drinks and juice are delightfully refreshing, too pretty to miss. Their piping hot Ee-Fu Noodles are so good that my little ones kept asking for more! You got to try their Vegetarian Roast Duck too. It is handmade from scratch with Tofu Skin and Braised Mushroom, love the combi!!
