I love this place. Vegetarian food sometimes may not be healthy because of their recycled oil to refry, the use of gluten as mock meats, and healthy ingredients repackaged that doesn’t taste normal. Luckily none of the above happened here. They are real honest people who decides to really serve you good food and make a living.

The restaurant is located in the populated Little India locality competing against the other Indian restaurants. The menu is pretty good and it has a good variety of options available. The taste was great too. The service was good but could have been better considering the fact that the restaurant was near empty when we visited. With that said, they had a unique kothu idiyappam which tasted great. It is a dish that is definitely worth trying.

"The one and only herbal (Indian vegetarian) restaurant in Singapore". This is our go-to place whenever we crave for a tasty, hearty and nourishing meal. We visited this restaurant three times this month and all of the dishes we've had were simply lovely. We tried their South Indian Thali Meal with Wheat Chappathi and Banana Flower Vadai - a South Indian fritter made with banana flower and channa dal, Navarattan Kuruma, Chilli Panneer, Mixed Millets Dosa etc. Please do visit them, I highly recommend it.

Started off with Banana Flower Vadai($4). Deep fried but not greasy and so fragrant.(This is a must try dish) For the main we ordered Paneer Butter Masala, Gobi(Cauliflower) Manchurian and Chick Peas($2.50). Roti and basmati rice was suggested by the owner. Paneer butter Masala is tomato based and Gobi Manchurian is sweet sauce based. (inform the owner if you do not take onions). The basmati rice is so soft (never had such tasty basmati rice before). The roti is chewy and goes well with the dishes that we had. We ended the meal with Filtered coffee(as suggested by the owner) and Masala tea. Coffee is a tad too sweet for my taste. Brown sugar is provided separately for the Masala tea. The tea is so creamy and thick. The restaurant served cumin water and it freshen up my breath after dinner. The total cost is $36.40. Please avoid busy and crowded Saturdays The restaurant rest on Tuesdays.

It's a simple but very hygienic and nice place to dine.. It's a vegetarian cuisine and the Taste is one of the best I've had in Singapore. The food was served hot and delicious. Special mention about the menu - You have varieties that highlight the health benefits of the food you order and there are items that you might not have found in other restaurants. Also was told that the cooking oil is discarded after usage and there is no reuse. Worth the price..

Best south Indian meal in Singapore. I am south Indian, and have grown up eating the cuisine in it's most authentic form. After coming to Singapore - the options have been few and far between, which is surprising considering the Tamizh presence in this country. But Green Leaf cafe was a discovery that I'm forever grateful for. Thanks to the owners for feeding us nutritious, veggie-loaded, low-on-oil food which is so delicious!! We are going to be patrons of this place for a very long time. (If you do go here, please leave a review and show them some love on your socials, they have received low footfall during these tough times and you do not want to see this place close.)

The menu shows one price but what they charge is different. They don't issue itemized receipt unless you asked for. That's when the manager informed they have not updated the menu but updated the POS system with the right prices. That's fraudulent. Inform customer before they consume the food or be honest and charge the menu prices, instead of cheating on the total or individual items. The manager didn't correct the issue even after I complained about the fraud to her. I'm fine if the menu is updated toa price they feel comfortable but not cheat. How many customers just paid without checking. Will inform the relevant agency as well. Would definitely not recommend this place.

One of the best veggie Indian food. Actually this is really hidden so you must use maps to find it if you are a tourist. The fried rice is awesome and the curry is really full of spices. The dosa is very Fragrant and the taste is nice. Worth to try and you will get a amazing service from the staff and the owner.

Our visit to Greenleaf Cafe was a delightful experience! The warm and welcoming atmosphere immediately made us feel at home 🤗 We opted for their Thali Meal set (+Chappathi) and were blown away by the incredible flavours. Each of the small portions served was bursting with authentic Indian spices, creating a tantalising taste sensation 🔥🍛🇮🇳 The owner itself spent some time with us responding on all the questions we had! While the prices were slightly higher compared to a Hawker Centre, the quality and variety of the meal were well worth it.

Boss is very nice! My husband and I are were the only non-Indian customers at the time - boss assured us to make ourselves comfortable. Although I’m a local, my knowledge of Indian food is mainly limited to roti prata, nasi biryani, marsala dosai and butter chicken. We tried the plain millet dosa - it’s sooooo good though a little oily (kinda less than roti prata level). It was crispy on the outside and went so well with the 4 dips (2 curry and 2 paste). 2 of us polished this in no time. My neighbour ordered the onion masala ghee version and it smelled sooooo good. I’m coming back here again. The kadai mushroom is a very small dish (the plate was probably 4”?) and packed a punch. I love the mushroom with capsicum and coriander. It was delish. Thanks to the boss recommendation, we had this with roti which was lovely. The roti was fragrant and had the smell of freshly baked goods. Like the ‘wok hei’ version of bread based items. My husband and I are small eaters hence this portion is sufficient for us. The meal was under $25 for 2. Don’t be afraid to ask the boss for recommendation!

Stumbled upon this vegetarian restaurant by chance, no regrets! Each dish was served hot, really fresh. Had the black pepper tofu, mushroom masala, chapatti and banana flower vadai (not pictured). I highly recommend each and every one of these dishes- all so flavourful and although might not be particularly unique, is done so well. Will definitely come back again to try more

Good food. Wide variety. It is also kids friendly (they have dishes specially for kids). Outdoor and indoor seating available. They have an interesting menu which states the nutrition of all their foods. Healthy vegetarian dishes with no msg, no coloring, no white sugar, no preservatives and, no reuse of cooking oil. Good experience. Will surely return for more. They also sell some paintings that are on the wall.

First time trying southern Indian food. For drinks, tried the hibiscus tea and dry ginger tea, not bad. For lunch, ordered pepper tofu and the 10 mini plated on a big dish with Pandan leaf (can’t remember the name). Overall the food was good. Also first time trying their porridge, me bring Chinese, not used to Cold porridge. Overall service was acceptable and attended to our needs and cosy setting with a ambience of jasmine flower fragrant throughout the restaurant.

One of the best Vegetarian restaurants in Singapore. I would highly recommend this place for lunch. Buffet lunch is the best option. Different varieties of curries with delicious taste makes the buffet lunch more special. I always visit this place whenever I am hungry and I opt in for buffet lunch. Apart from buffet, There are lot of other food varieties, which are tasty too. Restaurant is very clean and hygienic.

Update: Closed down Oct 2023. Herbal and Ayurvedic Indian vegetarian eatery that also does not use MSG, white sugar, preservatives, or reused cooking oil. During lunch there is a buffet (vegan-friendly except for 2 items) and a la carte dishes, whereas during dinner there is no buffet but there is a more extensive a la carte menu. Although the menu did not label dairy and alliums, I appreciated that the staff (I think he was the owner) was friendly, well-informed, and accomodating to different dietary preferences - he said that many of the a la carte dishes could be customised accordingly. The food we ordered looked simple but was tasty and healthy (not oily). Will definitely be back for more! 3 to 5 minutes' walk from Jalan Besar MRT.

Hearty and healthy South Indian fare such as thosai, idly, poori and chappathi. Love their commitment to customers’ health, such as no MSG, no reuse of cooking oil and no preservatives. Prices are reasonable and service is efficient. Not much in the way of ambience, but the food more than makes up for it.

Really happy to have found this cafe which serves healthier Indian vegetarian dishes, even some Ayurvedic ones too. They even have various types of herbal teas. And they serve warm herbal water to all customers. On the day we went, warm cumin water was served. Delicious. Such a rare find in Singapore!

Lovely Indian food everything in the restaurant Tate's great! You will get cumin water to accommodate your meal. The owner can get a bit unfriendly at the end of the evening, but he has good recommendations. Order the "baby corn pepper fry". This is the best thing I ever had in my life!

The food is always wholesome and delicious. Their claim to fame is that they always prepare food fresh and only with raw ingredients; no preserved or processed foods. Their menu details the herbs they use and elaborate on each one's benefits. South Indians would be familiar with the herbs and spices as well as the dishes in their exhaustive menu. Rush hours present a challenge to the quality of their service because they are always severely understaffed. Food will arrive late and the effects of the hasty preparation will be apparent in the taste and presentation. The lunch buffet is always good if a little pricey.

Greenleaf, once again won my heart for serving the one and only Herbal cuisine in Singapore. They are South Indians dishes and very creative in fusing dishes. We had Panner and blackpepper long grain rice. Awesome and authentic Rava thosai, unlike the commercial type. Homemade ginger tea. When comes to traditional food, presentation doesn't matter.

Extremely slow and inefficient. The two main dishes we ordered were out fairly quick, then we had to wait like 30 minutes and then the buffet meal came out (containing the rice). By that time we have finished the mains which was really average. They claim the food is healthy, but I was not all convinced, and the portion is very small for an Indian meal. Price is quite expensive.

One of the best foods I had.... Best thing here is 1. Organic preparation. 2. Many varieties. 3. Tasty. 4. Healthy. Tried many varieties. Really liked the taste of all varieties, starting from soup, starters, main course and desserts.

Went to this place with high hopes, there were a lot of options displayed on the menu that the website projected, however when we went there The experience was not what we expected. We started off sitting outside since they were no occupancy left, and we decided to wait. Later on we saw that even though we were accommodated inside eventually people who came in later than us were entertained and attended to before us. This thing really annoys me and I'm pretty sure it annoys everyone who sees someone cutting in the queue. The service was overall slow, the taste of the food was not that bad and to an extent admirable however I would not recommend people to visit the place with high hopes. I was keeping time and tab to check how much time it took for the food to show up on the table and even with less than moderate occupancy the turnaround time for the plate to show up on my table was anywhere between 20 minutes to 30 minutes. The place is walkable and very near to Mustafa so if you do end up being here and don't really appreciate the food the good part is you can just walk across two streets and get to Syed Alwi Rd and enjoy the proper food in Anand Bhavan, Murugan or other outlets in the near proximity. Biggest minus point for me was the delay in service. Hope this place improves the overall attentiveness.

If you want to taste real South Indian food, one should visit this restaurant -Served with love and passion, Food was excellent and was homely in taste, decent ambience, not expensive for the food quality they serve. The owner was so friendly and explained the items we didn't know.. Overall a good place to have hygienic, authentic and quality food in SG.

Simply amazing food. I ordered for delivery. First time I eat, not only it’s tasty but I felt eating the “right” meal. My body is happy eating the food here. I can sleep better. It’s addictive, I am now ordering at least once a week :) highly recommended.

Amazing food with even better service. Stayed in Singapore for 5 days and came here twice, as the first time was such a great experience. As soon as we walked in we were made to feel like family, the menu is packed full of beautifully fresh and healthy dishes with the back of the menu dedicated to explaining the health benefits of the ingredients used.

Lovely place to eat for gluten-free and vegan options. The place was very quiet and I did some work on my laptop while waiting for the food to arrive. Not too salty like other stores which use MSG. It tastes healthy and the portion was alright.

Very lovely place to sit and eat in peace and quiet. Friendly owner. Only, I went in for a masala dosa at lunchtime, but they are only cooked after 5pm. Had the vegetable set which h was very good.

The best herbal veg restaurant! The taste is truly excellent, with a combination of great flavors and healthy ingredients. The prices are reasonable, making it even more appealing. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience the best of South Indian cuisine. You won't be disappointed!

Very good quality food & the service provided by Ms Veni & the boss was amazing!!! Very traditional & healthy food was prepared and served!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 After reading the other reviews, maybe we were charged 1.5 times the price. $215 for 10 adults and 3 kids. But when calculating, seems like they have increased the price on the bill 😥😥 Well, too late to worry now.

Lots of interesting unusual choices on the menu with explanations of possible ingredient health benefits. Beetroot Adai and the Udipi(?) Dosa along with the Palm Sugar Milk special tea and Hummingbird tree leave soup were our favourites. The sesame laddu was good. Well priced for most items. This place should be busier but perhaps the frontage, narrow blocked in places pavement and parked vans in front all discourage casual passers-by or even block it from them. NB further visit sadly the previous lukewarm one off dish was repeated. One of the special dishes turned out to be 12 which compared to the dosa options and other comparable restaurants is just too high. Lesson-ask the price of the specials,( some of which were excellent)

Great little place! The food was really delicious and affordable, and uncle recommended his dish of the day to us, which was a young coconut biryani. One of a kind dish. The coconut was really tender and mild. Also had the dhal, which we enjoyed very much. Come even if you aren’t vegetarian, it’s worth it :)
