Good choice for south indian and north india food. We tried few north indian items. To begin with we had MUSHROOM BABY CORN CHILLY as starters. Loved it and would rate it 5/5. For main course we ordered 2 different types of cuisine,first one being an indo chinese variety of noodle GINGER GARLIC CHILLY CHOWMEIN Which was an average dish,did not have the punch of flavour as in the name of the item but it was still a value to money item. Rating : 4/5 And the second item is PANEER KADAI paired with GARLIC NAAN and BUTTER ROTI. The breads were again average but paneer kadai was awesome. Ratings: Paneer Kadai - 5/5 Bread - 4/5. To end the meal we ordered, RASMALAI as a desert. Though iam not a sweet lover i really enjoyed these cold rose flavoured thick ras malais. Rating- 5/5 The overall experience was great,as we visited late at night( around 10.30 PM),the staffs were all attentive and all the items were also freshly available. Service : 4.5/5 Ambience: 4/5 Overall experience: 4.5/5

Overly expensive, below average food. Our Alu Chana chat had burned tikki and Chole Bhatoore was a joke, they made Bhatura with normal flour which is used flit make Ajwain poori. No ethics. Service 5 stars by the way and good ambience.

We were here on a Saturday during tea time for some light snacks. Was seated right at the back of the restaurant where several staff were noisily and very disorganised-ly packing takeaway and delivery orders. The tables were piled up with food orders and staff were clearly not able to manage the orders smoothly. We didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive but the taste was just alright. The mango lassi was not even cold and had to request for ice. We ordered dahi puri chaat, momos, aloo chana chaat.

Fantastic place for the average Indian visiting Singapore who wishes to have a good north / south indian meal at an affordable price. The food is good and service is good to. The food really gives you the satisfaction of near to home / Indian food that you'll be missing in Singapore, especially if you are an Indian vegetarian. The North Indian food weighs to be better than the other varieties. Cleanliness needs to be better, toilets to be a little cleaner, pls work on the same. Over all a great pittstop in little India to fill your tummy.

Wide variety of food served fast. Food is good and nicely flavored. Best to go for Indian food in an Indian restaurant! Thali was value for money. The ambience is average at best but the food makes up for it. The desserts were good, jalebi and rabri in particular. Their falooda interpretation is very different, avoid if you are looking for the Bombay style ones.

Hands down, the best raj kachori, chaat and jalebi rabdi in town. I’ve visited the restaurant 6 times in one and a half week just to have their dhokla and jalebi randi- crispy and just so delicious. I also took my friends. The service is brilliant- it’s fast and all the waiters are amazing, they all make you feel at home. They are honest and polite.

Service was a bit slow. But the main problem was food. I took dal batti churma n plain dosa. The dosa was so bitter that I had to leave it. The dal batti was good actually. When I told the staff about the dosa they said they will check but never bothered to come back. Surely my last meal there.

Been here for a while but discovered this gem pretty late! Very nice spread of Indian cuisine, delivered freah to your table! The jalebis were lip-smacking, so were the Samosas! We also tried Bedmi poori combo and Pav bhaji that were delicious too. Have been getting delivery from here and have tried their Daal Baati, meal combos, Tandoori Momos, vada pav - everything just superb 👌

We went to this place located opposite to Mustafa during lunch time. We ordered the South Indian meal and Jain Thali with 2 Chapathis. We ended our lunch with a nice cup of masala tea. South Indian Thali: Sweet, Rasam, Sambar, Kootu, 2 Poriyal, Curd, Rice, Papad and 3 Pooris Jain Thali: Sweet, Jeera Rice, Chole, Paneer gravy, Dal, 2 Chapathi, Papad and Raita The taste was good. The were priced about 11-14S$. The ambience can be improved a bit given the size of the restaurant and the number of customers coming over.

Gone 1st time to this place yesterday,really happy with the food. Ate gujrati thali and tandoori platter,both were very nice.Took khandvi parcel which was very authentic and motichor laddu parcel, fresh even after 1 day. Found the laddu better than another North indian sweet place that I frequently go to but a little costlier than them.Overall very satisfied, will visit again.

A nice place with great hosts. Would recommend this for a decent weekend dinner. The food was very tasty. Ordered a mix of north Indian as well as the south Indian cuisines and they were all very good. Special mention the paneer was melting and mouth and idly was so soft like a sponge.

Probably the best place for Chat in town. Bedmi Poori + Hing Aloo and Channa is also very good. Overall food is delicious and takes you back to India from the first bite.

My family Had a tandoori platter and dal bhati , it was very delicious and filling . Restaurant was packed ,staffs were managing well and food was served in under 15 minutes. Service was good, just that you can guys can do better if u hire maybe two more staffs

Although the pani puri was amazing but 7 dollars for a plate with tax plus service charges is extremely irrational. Please reduce the price. The star I cut is due to the price.

Best vegetarian restaurant in SG. This is my frequent visit place. Whenever I visit Mustafa or nearby areas, I never miss paying a visit to Balaji. Their jalebi is outstanding. When we order food from here, jalebi is a constant. Other than this, daal makhani and kadhai paneer are also equally brilliant. I have not tried everything on the menu, so till now, these are my favorites.

Balaji bhawan has a vast variety of Bengali sweets to die for … sponge rusgulla, Malai chap , chenna toast , Malai roll , rabri , anarkali , chum chum and so many more. Will definitely remind you of india. We tried them all.

We ordered fafda and desi ghee jalebi for Dussehra. Fafda came with raw papaya chutney. Enjoyed it.

As we entered and specifically asked for dining available and said yes we can do. Then inside no one was there. Hesitated but ordered and chat was not well done. When complained the lady was rude enough to tell me that the chat is prepared by dialysis patient and she is tired. How is that relevant.? She said chat counter is there let's make the change. We said we need to leave but your thali is ready you have to take it. It was direct from the fridge or freezer even. There was no spoons available and have to ask for normal things. Lady started arguing again that they have bulk orders and she is still giving us service. They started sending everyone else we are not open for dining then why you gave us false advertise that it's open. I asked couple of items everyone was we dnt have that. Super rude and then saying I am rude and dnt understand them. Never visiting again and making aware of my friends even to avoid at all cost. Paid in full for 0 service and cold food.

This place is awesome! Food is awesome. Being able to find such wonderful place in Singapore is such a blessing. The ambience is amazing. Jain food is also surprisingly available and fantasy

This review is specifically for outdoor catering. We ordered for 40 pax, but the quantity was less (enough for 30pax). The food came in small containers. The manager was not ready to listen and kept cutting the phone in between conversation. We have done catering before many times and could clearly see the difference compared to other restaurants. Be careful of the quantities if you order from here. This place is good for dine-in, but catering a big NO!

Food was delicious and service was very brilliant. Much better compared to other Indian restaurants. I would suggest to visit this place at least once and you will forget other restaurants. The lady who has a brilliant welcome smile is also very friendly and helpful!! Five stars!!!

This place was recommended by a friend for jelebis, however the service is beyond poor. Absolutely chaotic, dramatic and ill-managed place. Was looking to buy fresh hot jelebis, and made the payments towards the same at 6pm and requested if we can collect fresh hot jelebis at 8pm. We were told that it may take 10-15mins extra when we come to collect, however they packed us cold once and upon asking the receptionist started to be argumentative and rude. Then the other came and apologized on his behalf while the receptionist kept at his ranting.... Not fresh jelebis is sad enough but their behaviour topped it all. Not the way to end ones day....... • As Google doesn't give an option to comment on the reply made, Here's answer to the owner (or the lady who has replied to my comment) . You are not sorry, Ma'am. And yes i was recommended your place specifically for jelebis by a friend with whom I first visited & hot crispy jelebis were served, I liked it then and so I returned . The next time I came with my spouse to pack three boxes to distribute amongst friends, and since we were leaving late, we asked if you could help us with hot fresh jelebis later when we come to collect. To which the receptionist then (in red T-shirt) said sure , you may however have to wait 10-15mins. We asked if that would be of any Trouble, and he said it shouldn't be. Later, when we collected the go to parcel, they were not hot, and on mentioning, the old man (receptionist now) said - this is what & how we serve, what you are looking for maybe served in your hometown, not here ( these comments were uncalled for) he was being rude. And you, Ma'am offered us our money back. We were simply expecting a smooth transaction & this is not how you want your day to end with all the blatant comments being made. you are in a business of hospitality- it's not simply food but the experience too that you sell I hope in future you will be able to take criticisms more positively, & good luck with your future endeavours.

Indian restaurant near mustafa center, we ordered chat and thali, taste was good with affordable price.

Food took over 40 minutes to come. Staff kept saying 10 minutes more but it never came. Ambience was not good, the owner was yelling which was disturbing to hear. Coffee with ice cream came wrong the first time. Second time it came wrong again and with PLASTIC! Food was below par in taste. Only good thing was the kebab platter. They gave wrong item for desert and gave our one to another customer instead. Do not visit. Not worth time or money. Terrible way to start the lunar new year.

Amazing and authentic food. We had Dal Baati thali, Onion kachori, khandvi and jalebi. Every dish was packed with flavors and it came through with every bite ❤️ It's been a long time since a restaurant wowed me. Definitely going back for more soon :)

Paper and other stuffs lying every where..Appearance very dull and not at all pleasing.. The rasmalai was not good! The veg momos is worst!! Will never visit again.. Waste of money and time.. Mood spoiler. **Edited to add a response to the owner's reply** 1) those kind of papers and other stuffs should be kept separately..it is not pleasing to the eye.not very neat. 2)Hot selling items? Ordered online for home delivery. The food arrived half hour late, however the quality of food and the taste both were good. The ghewar, bedmi poori was really good and khandvi decent. The Dal Bati choorma was good too. I ordered momos as well, which weren't as great when compared to the quality of veg dumplings available in Singapore.

Must for south Indian food lovers, did not like the Dal taste but it was not bad at all.

Must try food..awesome food and service

Had ordered at 9:45am for a 12:30pm delivery..the food reached 1 hour late and was cold..the taste was good but overall we were very disappointed with the delay..would have given a 5 star rating had the food arrived in time!

Seated quickly without much fuss on a Friday night. Servers were polite and helpful. Loved the dahi puri and the south indian meal although i feel the naans could be improved.

With our family of 4 we have had food long back in Balaji Bhawan after which we never turned back as it was not satisfactory. After very long time, I found different menu recently in their FB page and understood Balaji Bhawan has brought some changes. Hence we have decided to try again on 5th Aug. It was a "Wow"day for us. Such a scrumptious food. Every item was amazing. Such a dedicated chef who is really taking much care in preparing each and every item. While leaving the hotel, I spoke to one of the staff to check if they have changed their old chef. Told him up front that he deserves a big thanks. Definitely Balaji Bhawan will be on peak if this pandemic situation doesn't exist. I had referred to one of my friend immediately after returned from the restaurant and make sure she order food on the following day. Within 10 days of our 1st day after changes again 15th August ordered from Balaji Bhawan. So yummy. I strongly recommend visitors of Syed Alwi Road not to miss The new Balaji Bhawan for a satisfactory meal.?????

People who prefer only Veg can visit here. The quality of food is good and one must try there Dal Batti Churma Thali. Apart from it service is also good.

Nice Indian restaurant in little India. Situated at main road, prices are ok as comparison to quantity and quality of food though the food is bit less spicy. We ordered ghee roast dosa, Chinese platter and Italian cheese pizza. Dosa was the best among all. Noodles were ok but manchurian and spring roll in platter was good. Pizza disappoints me more coz its of no taste. They don't provide for chilly flakes too so u can add any taste. The toppings was full of cheese and very heavy. Overall worth a try

I was craving some chole bhature and bedmi puri and decided to give Balaji Bhawan a try for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality and taste. Everything was a tad spicier, but then that's Indian food for you. The chilled Lassi helped to cleanse the palate between rounds chana and aloo sabzi, which too was excellent.

Got home delivery today from here. The big issue was that delivery took about 2.5 hrs (affected by rains also), but best you cater for the time delays. The desserts of balushai, milk cake and kaju katli were great. Loved the khandvi, dahi vada and daal baati churma. The thali was not bad as well. Pyaz kachori was fantastic. The Indian Chinese was quite spicy and oily, but tasty none the less. The masala dosas were not bad and the sambar was different from some of the other restaurants so overall good

When it comes to vegetarian food, this restaurant can give you some of the best dishes which will remind you of Indian authentic cooking. I had been there several times and its always the best i got from there. Owners and the staff is always humble to customers. Do try North Indian Thali or Paneer Platter which are one of the best which they offer. All in all its a good experience to eat there.

We took food first day from kailash perbat but we got same oil test of singapore then we tried anand bhavan but that was also not good then we tried BALAJI BHAVAN and its owsome even its smell like indian test of restaurant is owsome...pure indian food with spicy chatpata test..thank you balaji bhavan for providing superb indian food.

Good food but service is very weak

The worst quality of service and on the top of that these cheats charge 10% Service charge apart from GST. On asking why they are charging the manger said this is a rule in Singapore so I Showed the Food bill of 3 other restaurant in the same area, to which he replied it is valid for 99% of the restaurants and the 3 I’m counting are in the remaining 1%. Cheap behaviour of the manager .... it looks as if some Rogue have started a restaurant Never Ever Go to this place. BalajiBahavan#Cheaters
