👍👍 Had fried hokkien mee as well as Monkey Head Mushroom Pao Fan. Noodles tasted quite nice and the Pao Fan was very comforting to eat. Noted that the soup that came with the hokkien mee tasted different from the Pao Fan People often mention vegetarian, rice, soup, good, noodles, taste, Yong, time, yong, mushroom,

We’ve tried their YTF on our first visit today. Big portion, flavorful, good value, and the food is served pretty quickly. The seating section is located a few doors away

A satisfying lunch for $14 for two. We had YTF with noodles which we picked from the display at the shop front. We sat in a separate area. We were given a numbered token and were served rather promptly even though it was already rather packed. We paid in cash but PayLah! was also accepted. Others around us were eating thunder tea and hotpot soup with rice. Service was helpful.

Been frequenting this Chinese vegetarian food joint for 15+ years now. 100% vegetarian and allium free! Pine Tree family run and I love it because food here tastes home-made. A popular place with the office lunch crowd, extra crowded during 1st/15th lunar calendar. Because the place can get crowded, service is brisk (can be mistaken for rudeness at times, but they are just busy and don’t have the time to chat - they are in fact very lovely people). It is self-service, go to the counter and order. If YTF, pick what you want and pass it to the cashier. They will deliver the food to your table. What I would usually order: - vegetarian chicken rice (made out of tofu) - olive fried rice - petai (stinky bean) fried rice - yong tau fu - prawn noodle dry (Wednesday’s daily special, unless it falls on 1st/15th lunar) - deep fried tofu with Thai chilli sauce Closed on Mondays (unless it falls on 1st/15th lunar), opens from abt 11am to about 6pm. Update (13 Sep 2023). Added photo of their prawn noodles (dry). I added additional items from their yong tau fu line up at extra charge.

Pine Tree is my all time favorite place for vegetarian food. They have been serving reasonably priced vegetarian food for many, many years, since their initial setup location at Bendemeer. The variety of food is aplenty for you to choose from, and there is also their always available yong tau hu for you to choose from. Everyday they would hv some specials served. So remember to ask for the daily specials. I personally patronize almost every Saturday, as they serve my favorite chicken rice and lotus soup or bak kut teh soup. Their lor-mee is also amazing. Yong tau hu with their handmade noodles is also not to be missed. Dumpling noodles. If you are a chilli person, their chilli sauce will sure be to your liking. Kick! :) Head on down and give it a must-try if you happen to be at Kwan Im temple. Update: heard they will be opening up at Lucky Plaza

Ordered the monkey head mushroom rice bowl that comes with a clear broth and soup. The seating is around the corner from the store front. Servers will ask if you want water and will charge you when they bring it to you (water is not free here). Overall decent vegetarian food.

You don’t wanna miss this! Nice and clean vegetarian restaurant located in the second floor of the food court. The staff there are lovely and the food is delicious! The complimentary soup made by herbs is amazing 🤩

If you have come just for the thunder tea rice, this would probably be the most disappointing bowl that you would ever have. Just toufu. 1 veggie. Cai Poh. Brown rice. Tea soup. At $7, I would expect more vegetables. Maybe other items on the menu would be more satisfying.

Had the monkey head mushroom rice with additional mushroom head at extra cost. Homely savoury taste, serve with brown rice, veggies, monkey head mushroom and some assorted mushroom in a heated mini pot. The chicken rice style chilli is a must dip, pretty spicy.

Ordered the mushroom noodle soup for $7. It was average - the mushrooms were nice, but the soup was bland. I had to add soya sauce to it to make it more flavourful. Something interesting that I found out is that payment is made when food is served to you at your table. It's a good thing that my friend and I were honest folks because the server who gave us our food forgot to get payment from us. As such, we had to go up to one of the servers and tell them that we wanted to pay.

Actually it's all 3.5 stars. It's mostly crowded at the restaurant, hard to get a table if you arrive later into the lunch hour. Food is quite expensive, get ready to pay about $7-10 for Yong tau foo. My colleague had mala while I had ytf, bill was $23.50. I could have gotten more value fr green dot if I'm paying this price. Anyway, food is quite ok, slightly on the blander spectrum but good as it's not salty. But the soup that came with it is too bland for my liking. Will only go back if I don't have other choices around that area.

Have not been coming here often and make a re-visit since I was around the area... Ordered Yong Tau Fu. The noodles was ok but I thought the soup was a bit blend... I cook too so I was wondering what ingredients they used to make the soup base...? It should be soybeans but I didn't get any flavor in the soup. Seems like their specialty is Thunder Tea Rice. Didn't get to taste that this round. Note: The seating area is further from the stall and my advice is to go and find your seat first before ordering... Because you don't wanna end up ordering the food without a seat as it can be quite packed at times. The atmosphere is easy-going and you'll need to have some trust and patience. Trust that your food will come and don't over react. LOL 😂🤪 All's good and I probably will revisit them to taste other food.

There's a reason why this place has been in service for a decade! Mala is absolutely a must try, outclasses many vegetarian mala by a mile. The flavour and the succulent texture of the veggies enough to make me a huge fan. Worth getting to level 2 and ignoring all other vegetarian stalls to come patronise. Bang for buck as well

pine tree looks relatively hygienic among the vegetarian places at fortune centre, and the dining area is pretty spacious with a better ambience. they have a separate room to accommodate their diners away from the ordering counter, and also own some of the tables along the corridor outside. we chose a corridor seat because it felt like better ventilation there ;) we ordered: monkey head mushroom rice ($7) and thai green curry with rice ($7) for the monkey head mishroom rice, i guess it’s a pretty standard dish at vegetarian places. pine tree mixes many mushrooms like shiitake, king oyster and black fungus, which are all quite fresh and juicy. the seasoning is rather simple with oyster sauce and soya sauce but it evokes the fragrance of the mushrooms. overall a very refreshing dish and it goes well with the grainy brown rice. the green curry on the other hand gave a surprise because the curry is very spicy, and the green chili and lime really stand out. there is also quite a variety of liao in the soup: enoki, lady fingers, brinjal and tofu etc.

The place is clean with a nice and spacious sitting area. They have a lot of options on their menu and prices are very affordable. I tried the nasi lemak. The rice was really tasty although the portion could have been a bit more generous, I feel like it could use a bit more veggies and mock meat. I'll come back to try other options!

I’m used to visit them once every week. It’s been awhile since I last visited them. Since I’m around the area, decided to pay them a visit. Highly recommend their green curry! Taste wise still the same but price wise increased to $7.

Easily the best vegetarian bak char Mee pok I've ever had. The noodles are qq and chewy and the sauce is very savory, making for a super pleasant and addictive dining experience. Inflation notwithstanding , the prices still remain relatively cheap with $5.5 a bowl.

Good vegetarian bachormee, for $4 it’s quite value for money. Mala a little pricey, but strong flavors pretty good. Will be back for their other dishes.

  • 3/5 Dev S. 1 year ago on Google
Dining here for the first time - ordered Nasi Lemak. Taste is okay. For $6, it will be nice if they could increase the portion of vegetables/mock meat. Would try out other dishes the next time I patronise this place.

Pine Tree seems to operate with a daily handwritten menu yet remains fully capable of mixing up any of the items on their overhead menu in a matter of minutes. Dealings are mainly in cash, followed succinctly by a click of items on the tray. First, a bowl of clear and subtly flavorful soup. Moments later, the touchdown of the ordered items. Seems each day there’s a new Malaysian, Thai, Indonesian, curry or Chinese daily special of a dish I have yet to try. Such warm attachment and feelings are challenging to express. It’s tough to get such feelings in a one-off visit - it takes a dozen or so trips to the same spot. I take this feeling as one of the perks of being veggie - when you find a good spot, you hold onto it and learn to appreciate it in its own way, and in return it gives nourishment in more ways than one.

Vegetarian Yong Tau Foo. Nice taste, flavourful soup. Unpolished red rice is available as an option. I am giving this only 3 stars because this cafe is expensive. A recent meal cost me $7.50 and I only came here because my favourite fish soup at Waterloo Food Centre was closed. The fish soup would have cost me $6.40 with plenty of fresh batang fish. I don't understand why vegetarian food can cost more.

The food is good and not boring for a vegetarian stall. I have been patronising this stall frequently, but now hesitate to go back. Every time I ask for less rice or half portion of noodle, they don’t care and just give the full portion. This either result into stuffing myself or food wastage.

Best vegetarian yong tau fu that I know of. It's in the city so I need to travel to get here and can only do so on weekends but I've found it worth my while. The mee pok is good. And they have other dishes like nasi lemak as well which taste good.

Popular and versatile vegetarian place at fortune Centre! Tried three dishes - all different and all didn’t fail us: Mala Xiang guo, Yong Tai Foo and braised “pork belly” rice. The rice was pretty savory which was a nice surprise. Came up to be $31 for 4.

One of my favourite items, the mushroom minced meat noodles has mee kia that is reminiscent of the old school taste. The portion is significantly larger if you go for additional noodles, but can be a bit on the pricey side compared to say Bodhi Deli.

vegetarian #vegan Pine Tree Cafe( 长春树) operating since 1970. Tomorrow is guan yin festival so here we are to eat vegetarian food. S$4 vegetarian minced pork noodles. Their noodles more on a harder side, shall try their mee Pok next time and ask for softer noodles. The favor is on the point, the ngoh Hiang is tasty, legit. S$5 vegetarian salted egg fried rice. Not oily, but I prefer their noodles, this taste too light for me. Wanted to eat their nasi lemak but today don’t have. #vegetarian nasi lemak at pine tree cafe. S$6. I find it okay only as it kind of dry and everything is just cold. Review posted on my IG: yummymich
