The food portion is getting lesser over time. Paid $3 for this order. Vegetable can be eaten in 2 scoops. 4½ pieces of meat.

Really nice hawker style Vegetarian food. They are well known for their vegetarian laksa. I was recommended by a non-vegetarian friend who confirmed the broth is delicious like the standard version. It was rich and creamy, with spices. I added red chilis which gave the lip-snacking creaminess a pleasant light burn from the chili spice. Large rectangles of tofu, white noodles and fresh veggies garnished the bowl. What I learned while chatting with an uncle ahead of me in the queue for my laksa, was that they also have a delicious vegetarian lor mee, but it's off the menu and only on Saturdays. I returned the following Saturday and gave it a try. Dark and flavorful, slightly thicker soup, yellow noodles, bamboo shoots, and 3 different types of tofu pieces, crispy strips or braised thick squares added a real filling dimension to the bowl. I added chilis bringing up the spicy heat. Friendly and efficient staff keeps the queue moving. Covered outdoor hawker seating to enjoy the view and breeze.

Bad attitude. When comes to my turn , dun want to sell n pour the gravy. When ask how long it takes. She said very long. When I wanted to buy the popiah, she said ask the other vegetarian stall. But the items are within her stall. Gosh what a service. Will not patronize. If aunty not happy to work for the day, can request from her boss and dun spoil other people mood in the morning.

The laksa ask for a $1 add on beancurd puff, end up same price as a $4. On the other event I ask for a normal, then told her add on $1 after she served me, the amount was so much different. Super disappointed, i miss the chinese aunty who was fair and square. Lady boss never take action too disappointed. Handled cash with the same hand which use to take noodle, lack of food safety ,really need to improve so that can get more customer and giving it a justifiable price .pictures shows a $5 pricing , this was asking her before she made finish , those regular customer will realise its still $4 pricing based on the quantity. Updated: the price difference first pic is back then when ask for more beancurd puff and second pic which i went on 18aug, can see the obvious difference. Same pricing different quality from different server. Revisit updates: the taupok given by the vietnamese lady is insanely so small portion ,this is not constant .given $5 yet this small.

Kwan Inn is a popular vegetarian eatery in Aljunied/Geylang area. There are so many dishes to choose from eg Wanton Noodles, Laksa, Yong Tau Foo and Nasi Lemak.

It was very good food. I especially enjoyed their rolls. Depending on which staff you get they may give you less of the vegetables and a huge dump of bee hoon. It was quite miserable to eat so much plain noodles despite the delicious sides which were skimped upon. The atmosphere as relatively good, quiet and peaceful environment. Despite no smoking sign, there were people still puffing merrily away. Unfortunately no help for that.

(Translated by Google) A big coffee shop, deducting the stall selling drinks, and another stall of Thai food, all other stalls are packaged by Guan Zi Zhai, it is really a special kind of landscape, fast food is delicious and worth a try. Ordered fish bee hoon soup at $5. Generous amount, vegetables, mushrooms and two slices of mock fish. Soup is not too salty, just right for me. Coffee shop offers a wide variety of vegetarian food, from economic rice to laksa, or even tze char, at affordable prices. You can scan QR code to pay digitally as well. Highly recommended.

Very bad. 1st day of lunar month yesterday. 5 in Q for noodles displayed. When turn came, gruffly told only laksa. Can't u see we are too busy to prepare other items? Ordered two bowls. Both not eaten. Laksa was so dilute it was really water with some spices added. If there were choice of zero star, I wld not give even the singular.

There are 3 stalls here that sell vegan food I got vegetarian food without onion and garlic here! For many hindus this is simply awesome but I must add that those who do not have a taste for South East Asian cuisine should take small portions. Both vegan stalls have such sweet and friendly people. I came here at just past 9 and they had some food already packaged in takeaway boxes. Will definitely keep coming.

Haven't visited Guanyin Zhai (now Guan Zi Zhai) for quite a while with all the new vegetarian eateries opening up near Aljunied and Paya Lebar MRT stations in recent years. Used to come here solely for the old school laksa, and hence was quite surprised to see a Yong Tau Hoo (YTH) / mala xiangguo counter. Decided to try out the YTH soup and was extremely wowed and impressed by the soup! Flavourful with a tinge of Chinese herbal sweetness, the soup base is one of the most unique as compared to the other stalls selling YTH that mostly offered clear soup. Definitely one of the best YTH soup base around!

The quality of their laksa soup is now very inconsistent , sometime creamy whereas sometime dilute n watery . Their laksa n Hor Fun used to be very good even my Christian friends who are full vegetarian like to dine there after attending church service.

Laksa is incredible. They've managed to maintain a high standard for many many years now which is a rarity. I only wish they'd have something like mock prawn etc. to add in. It only comes with tofu in the soup. The ladies working there are polite, friendly and helpful. I'll be back for the chicken rice next Friday.

This is almost a one-stop shop for your vegetarian meal. It has a counter for tze char, a counter for mixed vege with rice/bee hoon, a counter for cooked food such as prawn noodles, laksa etc. And a counter for dim sum! Had tried all the stalls except the tze char. Generally, all are quite delicious, fairly priced. It's surrounding shops are also selling related stuff like pastry shops, vegetarian food supply store etc.

They seem to always be busy and in a hurry to finish with customer's orders and Move on. Sometimes I feel the person taking the order does not listen. My experience was that when I ordered, they had just finished their veg chicken rice. They said NO MORe. So I ordered something different to take away. Five minutes later, as I passed by the stall, they had a new fresh plate of Veg Chicken Rice. Very disappointed...hmmm They just don't listen well or maybe pretend. 4 stars for quality of food. 1 star for service.

A nice place for vegetarians to have a meal or snacks. The three-dollar laksa is simply cheap and delicious. The vegetarian siu mai, popiah and bao are good take aways. The location is not crowded. In fact, I felt a sense of peace and serenity every time I eat there.

  • 4/5 H Z. 3 years ago on Google
The food here is pretty good! I especially enjoy eating their vegetarian version of the claypot rice. The one caveat that I would write about this place is that the sales associate at the popiah stall is quite rude. I ordered a popiah from that stall, and the associate made a face and remarked, "Just one?!" I was taken aback from her statement and wanted to leave but since she already started making the popiah, I stayed and still gave her the business. I will still support the other stalls but will not come to the popiah stall again due to the poor customer service that I received.
