Amazingly tasty vegetarian food at redhill. Usually closed or sold out by early noon. Long queues and usually a double queue system to order then to purchase and receive the food. Managed by an older crowd but noodles are cooked by young chaps. Good wokhey to the noodles and crispy sides and fillings. Prices are slightly steep but you pay for the above average taste for chinese vegetarian stalls. Beware of immensely long queues on 初一chu yi and 十五shi wu! Be prepared to queue for at least an hour!

Ruyi Yuan Veg at Blk 80 Redhill Lane. Food handlers handling cooked food using bare hands. This is concerning especially with recent increase in number of covid cases. Appreciate better hygiene. Also feedback on this several months earlier, improved and now it seems to repeat again. Disappointed.

This is the best vegetarian noodle stall I ever tasted since childhood. From their white beehoon, brown mee, mock meats all the way to the gravy is really one hell of a combination. Really hard to find fault on the taste. Try to avoid 1st and 15th of each lunar month as the queue is long - estimated to queue up to 45 minutes. Recommend to order the bigger plate for $3.50 to fill the craving and appetite. Will come back again!

Read a lot of positive review about this stall hence tried it on a Saturday mid morning. The queue was acceptable and moving quite fast. This stall has an interesting concept where there's 2 queue - one is to order and after that, you will have to join the other queue to collect your food. For 1st timer like me, it does get a bit confusing and luckily it was pointed out to me by another customer. Ordered 2 plates of bee hoon with all the ingredients mixed together. The portion given is rather generous and reasonably priced at S$4.00 per plate. This by far one of the store that I feel gives the best bang for bucks in terms of quantity. In terms of taste, I would say its slightly above average. The white bee hoon has relatively nice flavour, char siew is soft and the zai er (fried bean curd skin) is crispy. But I find the rest of the bean curd items doesn't have that much of a flavour and overall all the items are rather oily. In my opinion, this is a store that serves a very decent plate of vegetarian bee hoon at a reasonable price.

Bought a packet of vegetarian mee Hoon of $4 at the Redhill location. It became a very disappointing breakfast for me. The mee hoon was extremely clumpy and lifeless and tasteless - like a tangled mess of unsavoury rubber bands😂 And the accompanying ingredients were equally pathetic 😂You would have to double your strength into biting and swallowing some of the the mock stuff (such as the char sire and the diced intestine) which were awfully resistant and mostly unappetising😂 The counter staff, in general, need to go for some customer service and life appreciation courses - as they look unfriendly and uninterested with their gloomy and dreary demeanour 😂 Personally, I feel that the vegetarian stall at the hawker centre nearby offers a higher quality of much more flavourful vegetarian bee hoon (which are bouncier and livelier) with more variety of fresher and chew-friendly ingredients. The only good thing about the Ruyi Yuan’s offerings - their customised packaging with the company logo printed on it 😂😂😂

Famous SG vegetarian ready fry noodles. Queuing mandatory so avoid weekends/1-15. Non greasy fried and fresh daily. One of best tasting dry / wet style hence queue. Many regular followers, greens include cabbage / french beans. Also sells spring rolls, mini potato puffs & ‘goose’ cracker toppings. Friendly folks with new hires (ah ma sometimes here) & chain store Vista & Pagar. Special mention here as their Hor fun & Mee hoon great wok hei here On weekends there is curry too, but queue longer too

Ordered Kway Teow with bee hoon. $3.50 per pack. Queue: 15-20 mins Taste: Full of flavour (salty and peppery) but quite oily (grease coated my lips), bee hoon is tasteless, kway teow not much taste Portion: Typical portion for lunch. Price: not worth $3.50, there are better ones that cost lesser.

Amazing! I'm not a vegetarian, and it's delicious! Bee hoon doesn't taste oily. Finished it all! Not sure about the queue as my neighbour got it for me. Yum!

Like what has been mentioned by others before, the queue management is very poor. The stall owner always takes order from the “Collect” queue and sometimes not even in order. Today, this resulted in confusion and quarrel between customers. In addition, the customer service is not great. The stall owner speaks rudely, especially when the food is sold out. Hygiene can definitely be better. As they’re so busy today, I witnessed food spilt on the table during scooping would just be placed in the package.

Ok i am going to be as objective as i can because i recognise that different people have different preferences. So here is My personal opinion: This redhill branch is so different from the one at Tanglin halt. This redhill’s beehoon is very dry, slightly cold, no wokhey taste, very peppery and the kuayteow is very oily. There was not enough gravy as well even after i asked for more making the beehoon very dry and tasteless. Their green chilli is not as sour/spicy as the one at Tanglin Halt as well. Also, the soybean ingredients, some of it has a weird taste to it. Abit of background for those who are curious, even though redhill and tanglin halt are both called RuYiYuan but they are actually different owners but share the same name because they were taught by the same master. I really do not understand why its the same teacher/master who taught both the redhill and tanglin halt owners how to fry beehoon but turns out the taste is so different. (Today i went to try the redhill one because the tanglin halt one is currently undergoing moving to new place and some days are not open.) If i were to say just one positive thing abt redhill branch is that they are more internet savvy and will inform if they are not open on certain days/occasions. Also there is a old uncle there usually at the front of stall who is very nice and humble and will listen to feedback, unlike some of their staff who is quite rude and dont look like they care…? But this one i dont complain so much since its a kopitiam… my main concern here is the taste of the food… I have been eating at Tanglin halt’s Ruyiyuan for close to 15 years, and i go almost every week, sometimes even 3 times a week so i am very sure of how a good plate of zhai mee fee tastes like. A good plate should have wokhey taste, not too strong peppery taste, is warm, has enough gravy, has good green chilli, has ingredients that taste fresh, With that, let me emphasise again, i understand everyone has different preferences and maybe some people like the peppery taste at redhill’s branch but i would suggest for those who have not tried Tanglin halt’s branch to go try and you can decide for yourself which is best/suitable to your taste. They are closing on July 15, 2022 and will be moving to Margaret drive hawker center and reopening on 1 Aug 2022. Abit more inconvenient for me to travel there but i will do it because i truly cannot find a better or similar taste.

For $5, its a hearty meal with a lot of ingredients ☺️ A solid value breakfast; pretty good although the bee hoon noodles are a little bland but mixing it the green chili definitely makes it tangy and more flavorful! Definitely kid-friendly too! 😆 I would revisit and eat it when it’s convenient but wont queue up / wait for a long time for this!

There is a long line in front of this stall in the coffee shop, so expect to wait for a while. The mock meats are pretty standard but it is the bee hoon that stands out. The white beehoon is well stir fried and is the dry type. They drizzle a sauce over it for customers who request. But portions are a little on the small side.

Delicious vegetarian noodles with mock meat. Prepare for a long queue especially during the 1st and 15th day of Lunar calendar. My favourite order is noodles (choice of beehoon, mee or kuey teow), mock chicken meat, mock duck meat (because the other vege dishes are too salty for me) with vege. Their vegetarian popiahs are delicious too.

Chinese vegetarian food. My favorite is the vegetarian mock goose (fried bead curd skin). I always request to add on additional vegetarian mock goose for my meal. They also sell delicious fried vegetarian spring rolls which have to be ordered separately. The stall is not in the hawker center, it is located diagonally across in a coffee shop with 2 outdoor sheltered sittings.

Always wonder why the noodle is so famous here and it is always got to queue for quite long during the weekend.. Maybe i have eaten a nicer noodle in my hometown... After eating for many months at this stall, I still think the noodle and the mock meat is acceptable but realize its fame partially due to daily fresh made mock meats and spring rolls..?

Very tasty vegetarian food if you like mock meats and noodles with 'wok hei'. You could customise your order, and add side dishes like popiah, fried dumpling and fried beancurd. Sometimes, curry vege is available as well. My favourites are the mock meat chicken and duck, popiah and fried beancurd. Price is reasonable in my opinion.

On first glance there appears to be a queue system. You order on the queue at the right and pay and collect on the left queue. However beware that once you are in the pay and collect queue, your turn may be skipped at the whims and fancies of the old lady packing the orders. Additionally, over zealous patrons in the pay and collect queue would eye the orders coming out and shout from the back, “that’s my order!” And the old lady would simply pass it to them. I was victim to 2 queue jumpers. As a result, I will never dine there again.

Located in a coffeehouse, there is not much variety of dishes for you to choose from, so just go for standard set. The bee hoon is the best selling one, so good you can even eat it on it's own. Though it is plain, but is delicious.

Its those standard vegetarian bee hoon store. The ingredients here are nicer than other vegetarian stores. Can add spring rolls or more ingredients, of course you have to pay extras. They add sauce on top of the bee hoon, i feel without this, the bee hoon is too dry. So must add. Something for owners to consider: Recently the portion they give is way too little. I even requested to "add bee hoon" (of course need to pay extra), and to my horror the portion is still too little. For a standard $3 plate, its only good for afternoon tea. Definitely not enough for lunch. Even I added extras, $4.50, I still am not full. Overall, nicer than normal vegetarian bee hoon stores. Portion too small.

This place is located near Redhill Market at a coffeeshop. It was very busy at the time we were queueing for the good. Good old taste of yesteryears. The soft chewy beehoon has a distinct fragrance and a little burnt smell to give you the extra "ummp". I believe some will say it wok hey (in Cantonese). The fried popiah is fried to perfection with a savory and Sweet taste. You can literally taste the sweetness of each type of vegetables in it. Really. The noodles tasted great as it is not the usual one you get from most vegetarian stall. This one tasted very much like 億麵, chewy and it gives the mouth a good gentle massage before you swallowed it. It is a pleasant experience to eat the vegetarian meal again. Go try it if you happened to pass by. Tell us you experience.

Amazing vegetarian food. The first mouthful packs a punch (but I have no idea why 🤔). Pro-tip: 1. Take note of the queuing system, the queue on the right is to order, and the queue on the left is to collect. 2. Spring roll is delicious, remember to add. 3. Crispy vegetarian goose (斋鹅) is delicious too, you can opt to add one whole pack ($3.50) or add a smaller portion ($0.50-$1?).

One of my favourite brands. Bee hoon tend to be a little oily but the side dishes is by far the most extensive and delicious. Certainly not the healthiest but delish. Tip: you have to order from 1 queue before moving to the other for collection and payment.

  • 4/5 Chng Lip E. 1 year ago on Google
The food is usually quite tasty but slight oily at times. Be prepared to quickly order what you want or the elderly stall operator may be impatient with you. Queue to order and then queue again to pay. They are very efficient so the long queue can be processed quickly. My issue is that they always run out of the noodles and hor gun very early and are left with the less desired bee hoon. Don't understand why they can't produce more of the popular choices and constantly disappointment customers.
