Very many menu options! The Ananda Bhavan is a good South Indian vegetarian restaurant right across from Mustafa. There is a food amount of seating inside the restaurant but given how popular the place is, it is sometimes difficult to get a place to sit. Waiting time for take away is okay, unless you pick a peak time, typically on Sunday evenings. Depending on your palette preferences, this may be a place you can check out!

Visited Anand Bhavan, opposite to Mustaffa after a long time few years later. I always recommend to visit and try their menu. This is Indian Vegetarian Resturant, better to try their tiffins items rather than rice items. Service will be quick, though there was a huge rush, served within 10 mins. Tired their Masala Rava Dosa, Mini Sambar Idly, Sambar Vada, Onion Uttappam and Poori set, and all Of them tasted good. Sambar have lot of Brinjals only instead they can add lot of other vegetables also.

Too much crowded with a large variety of food options available. There was a line to order the food at the cash counter. They had a menu available from the display only. Food tatse is good. Table service as well as robot will also deliver the food. Clearing out the dishes immediately after finishing food is good. The lady who takes an order is not that polite but quite fast. Must try is idli. Loved it.

Wrong decision to visit this place and worst was to ask for take away. Just wanted to get idly set take away and thought that it would be fast. But unfortunately, waited for about 30 minutes after payment was made. The place has kitchen next to the washroom entrance and it was smelly and very unpleasant to stand there to wait for my order to be delivered to me. Overall, not very clean place to visit. Observed many foreigners there who might be looking for only vegetarian food and had limited choice rather to be there. I am sure it could be managed better in terms of cleanliness, service, order management for simple stuff. However, I was there after many years and may take me another few years to step in again.

My friend and I were sitting at the table across each other waiting for our food to come. At one point she leaned over to speak to me. Seeing that the manager began to shout across the room demanding us to distance ourselves. 1. There is no such rule that the 2 of us must maintain a strict distance of 1m. I called up other restaurant owners and the Ministry of health to confirm this. 2. In any case the manager could have come forward to us and spoken decently. There was no reason for him to publicly humiliate us. 3. I noticed that he went around aggressively telling people to put their mask on properly when he himself had his mask under his nose I attempted several times to speak to the manager but he was steadfast in his decision and continued to aggressively tell us off. At one point he even pointed to this contact asking us to text the hotline. The hotline has not replied me either.

I've been to this outlet of Anand bhavan countless number of times for a quick bite after shopping at Mustafa for groceries. While it is good for typical south Indian snacks, I did not find it that appealing to write a review. But today the experience I had was so amazing that I had to share with everyone. Food - I ordered idli sambhar (small idlis dipped in sambhar with generous amount of ghee). Not sure if it was because I was very hungry but today this humble bowl of idli sambhar tasted exactly like home cooked dish. Idlis were supersoft and sambhar was pretty good in taste too. To my utter amazement, I was served by a 'robot' ; it was really fascinating to see that a robot is serving customers at their table. I plan to take my kid during next visit for this humble idli sambhar bowl and the 'robo' server.

Price: $3.60 (Plain Thosai) Plain Thosai: 5/5 Thosai was savoury, crispy, soft and had a good sour flavour. Sambar: 4.5/5 Sambar was savoury, flavourful, a little sweet from the vegetables and familiar tasting. Chutney: 5/5 The orange chutney was flavourful, tomatoey and a little spicy. The white chutney was quite gingery and sweet from the coconut. The brown chutney tasted peanuty, savoury and was rather spicy. Total score: 14.5/15 Add-ons: Masala Tea ($2.60) was fragrant, warm and comforting but could use more spices. Service was fast and I received my thosai within 5 minutes. It will be quicker to get your drinks directly from Counter 1 at the restaurant as they seem slightly short-handed in the drinks area. The lady managing counter 1 is really nice and makes your drinks after seeing your receipt. I saw this as a good thing since I could decide when I wanted to have my masala tea instead of having it served while I was having my thosai. The place was air conditioned and the place can get crowded and is a really bustling place near lunch time. All in all, I enjoyed my brunch of thosai and masala tea at Ananda Bhavan Restaurant (Vegetarian). :)

This an Indian vegetarian restaurant . They also have some vegan Options available.. This is next to Mustafa shopping centre gate no. 3 The quantity is less in some dishes for the price... Other than that the food is great, fresh and many options available in North & South Indian food.

Food was mediocre considering the price, ordered the Ghee paper thosai and vadai. Served by a robot which was pretty cool. Otherwise service at counter was rude and requested for takeaway was terribly rude. I will not visit again. There are better options down the road

While the food and service were passable, the attitude of the cleaner was a real turn off. Even after being told multiple times he didn't care to clear the plates off the table, and when he came just cleared a few and left. Absolute lazy-a$$ attitude.

Well known for very good South Indian food. I usually visit them when ever I go to Little India. People who are used to the hustle and bustle of the small restaurants in India wouldn't have any problem dining at this place. I don't usually have an issue with such environments but the last time I was there, it was terrible. Some of their staffs were involved in a bad altercation with each other. Given the open nature of their kitchen it looked very bad and I my opinion was very unprofessional.

Ananda Bhavan is usually known for hygiene and tasty veg South Indian cuisine but somehow this franchise is not being managed good. Robotic staff, unhygienic, food not as great as we know, some of the food in the menu is totally eccentric from the authentic that you will miss identifying them. Eg:- Adhirasam and Chat. Chat here is neither North Indian not South Indian. Coffee and Tea is on a Plastic cup, no silver cutleries provided and if asked they say no such thing but you will find them later near the counter. The staff picked my plate while I am yet to finish. You will get a unclean kitchen smell all around. Toilet is pathetic compared to Singapore standard(Refer pics). In short they are not bothered because of the monopoly they have with the brand and all tourist land up here anyhow.

I'm starting off by saying think before you spend even penny here! Definitely not worth it. We were given the token, and the person who was serving food was going to every table and check what they ordered (the whole purpose of giving the token number does not make sense). Yes my order was delayed, and my husband was served food after I finished eating. And the quality of food is definitely not worth the money you pay. I've had south meal in other small restaurants in Singapore and they definitely serve an example of quality and service. Definitely not happy and this will be the last option if I ever want to visit Indian restaurants.

I felt like the food is really great while eating, but the decision to be great turned negative when I returned back home. They add a lot of sodium bicarbonate and some preservatives to their food. This makes your stomach to be full and later liberate lot of acidic agents in the stomach . This is good for having breakfast stuffs like idli, dosa vada etc. Not a good place to have meals. The management should consider to take feedback and improve upon.

This place comes highly recommended for breakfast. We came here for an early lunch around 11am and the restaurant was pretty full- we had to share our table which we didn't mind. We ordered a dosa and thali (pictured) to share. The portions are huge and the food is delicious so you definitely want to get different dishes to share. I highly recommend this place. Overpriced food. No proper order fulfillment process. Customer who orders at cashier has to visit two different counters at various points to collect food. Unnecessary hassle. Times, systems & prices have changed but quality of food leaves a lot to be desired. Service standards are mediocre at best. Their time-honored competitor isn't that great either even though they've presented themselves similar to fast-food outlets. It's become too expensive to remain vegetarian, especially in Singapore. Traditional vegetarian food has become a luxury. Disappointed, sums it up all!

Another great Pure vegetarian restaurant near Mustafa market. Good food. Slightly overpriced. Food in general would seem overpriced to Indians. But that's how it is in Singapore especially in restaurants. Otherwise great choices for vegetarians. Recommended.

Very tasty and quality Indian vegetarian food is available here. Excellent service.they have many outlets. Each outlet serve special dishes depends on type of visitors coming. Example, more Chinese food lovers, noodles verierty will be served. Outlet located opp Mustafa cater all type of customers. Outlet opp srinivasa perumal temple, focus local traditional food lovers. Branch near thekka mall and branch located near tamil movie theater in selege road serves south Indian specials. Basically south Indian and north Indian thali available. One of the oldest restaurant. Be blessed by the divine.

This is a South Indian restaurant. So South indian food is good. North Indian items like all types of chat, chole bhature are average and preferably should be avoided. Their rotis are chewy and seems their chef is unaware of North Indian cuisine. Earlier there used to be steel cutlery now replaced by plastic which is kind of average as the spoon was quite sharp around edge. Also they give food in plastic cups. Perhaps they can take step to save environment and go to steel cutlery. Here are my rating out of 5 South Indian food - 4 North Indian food - 2 Cleanliness - 3.5 Seating comfort - 3 (I have given a rating for seating as table and chair are fixed and the gal is huge between table and chair. Apparently no attention to ergonomics has been given.)

One of my favorite places as I might have mentioned before. I especially loved the addition of two serving robots, saw the admiration and excitement in customers like me who were a bit hesitant to pick the order from the tray brought to us by the robot. Two people seating, many online and parcel orders created a bit of chaos last time I was there. I was sent back to the counter, by the waiter for my last item from the order I placed a d then back to waiter again from the lady at the cash counter. Luckily I spotted my order was done so I just pointed it out and went on my way. There is absolutely no question on the performance and hard work of the people who work here, just a bit of clear communication might elevate the user experience big time.

It seems this restaurant staffs mentality is being affected by pandemic? Though not full house, it took 40 mins to serve dosai despite few reminders. Poor queue management system. Those came after us ate and left (they had the same menu as mine). Many nice eateries nearby. Those operating this eatery place take note! Food taste become average also. Not worth the visit.

Awesome dosa and chutney. One of the best dosa joints in Singapore. The only other comparable one's would be Komala Villas, Lakshmi Narasimhan and MTR

Approach can be difficult because of the boxes stacked outside. Food was disappointingly cold. Some dishes not even room temperature. Cold chapatti also Asked for Cutlery and lady said "you people eat with your hands" ! Then relented and gave us cutlery with one napkin for two of us ! Didn't dare ask for another napkin

One of the best thosai in SG. However, the onion prata had a ton of raw onion inside. That was just weird.

I ordered ghee paper masala thosai, vadai and coffee. But the cashier misheard it as ghee paper thosai oops! So I got to try the ghee paper thosai and it was delicious paired with their sambar, coconut and thakkali (tomato) chutney. It became cold very fast which is why I always prefer masala thosai! But the paper thosai had the beautiful crunch to it and I enjoyed it nevertheless! 😋 the vadai was not too great that day, if you're lucky or early, you'll get hot and fresh methu vadais. I was there after 5pm.

Avoid going if you require a child feeding chair. With the new robo servers and barely enough place for them to move, you end up moving feeding chair to make way for robos. You won’t be able to eat in peace. Food as usual is nice though.

I brought my parents to this place to eat. The 2 stars is for the food. Other than that, the restaurant is old and a bit run-down. Aircon looked too old and dirty. Washroom and handwash area are poorly maintained and I don't know how people can remember a nice dining experience if they go and wash hands in the end. Onion uthappam had too much of onions and was a big turnoff. Sambar is not tasty. The only entertainment factor is e robot bringing the food. Maybe some reno will be good or at least more thorough cleaning.

Fantastic vegetarian breakfast place. Don’t miss the set menu. Taste and quantity are too class.

  • 3/5 Gokila V. 1 year ago on Google
We have visited this place several times. Its ok for immediate tea breaks or brunch but not recommended for proper dinning experience. Taste is average. The robot which delivers food to each table is definitely an attraction for most visitors. Restroom - is congested and better avoid using it. Chaats taste are not original... the chaat masala's feel like chutney type and not even nearer to the original taste.

We were searching for south Indian restaurants at Mustafa area in singapore and found this outlet.we ordered for vegetarian Thali for our group, waiting time was 15 to 20 minutes and enjoyed the lunch.chapathi and white rice along with Currys with a sweet served hot but not so tasty compared to their standard.

Good South Indian taste vegetarian restaurant. You can order chat items too. They have implemented new tray and food serving robo, it reaches the correct table to deliver/serve the food. Filtered water dispenser with disposable cups at the corner near to wash room. Its opposite to Mustafah and it is mostly crowded as it is one of the few vegetarian's dining options around this place.

Ordered Butter Naan Set. Got 2 Naan, 4 small piece of paneer and small cups of deal and mix veg. I told them that Sabji is very less, they said this much only comes. I tried to order extra paneer Sabji (I was willing to pay for it) but they refused for that too....I am here with kids, seeing that only the minimum they could do was charge for extra sabji. Have never seen any resturant refusing to give anything extra even on paid basis. I came here after a long time and now I remembered why I didn't like this place.

Their today’s special Paneer Dosa on Tuesday is delicious. It’s located just across the Mustafa Shopping center and a short walk from Farrer Park MRT station. You get free drinking water from the tap. For travelers, they accept cash and some payment cards, if not, just by their entrance is a ATM machine for you to draw cash.

India wali feeling away from India …. Food is very tasty and lots of variety too .. Bit expensive but worthy … owners are very friendly and make you feel like home. Must visit for Vegetarians

  • 3/5 Toms A. 11 months ago on Google
This is your place if you want to have decent vegetarian food at affordable prices. They have a lot of combos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Almost all of them are very filling. The quality and quantity are quite ok. Can get very crowded, and service is pretty quick.

Nice restaurant, you order and pay over the counter and they bring to your table. Good restaurant for some South Indian snacks. Always good to try Dosa. Recommend…!

  • 1/5 Dhanush M. 9 months ago on Google
Very noisy. Only one server. One person to clean the tables. Kitchen also very limited people working. We came at around 9:30. Queue was there at billing. They don't have person to collect orders from tables. Billing took 20 minutes. Then to get the order it took another 40 minutes because of what I mentioned above. Trust me. Just go elsewhere if it's peak hours. Just stay away from this place. They are running it in a horrible way. Horrible experience. There are many other places nearby which will be 100x better and priced similar. Waste of time. They don't understand people are hungry..

Very much cheap quality of food So much unhygienic.. All food is half cooked... Only water and salt in all items Charges are very high... Pls don't visit this restaurant it's just a waste of time and money... One of the worst restaurants in Singapore

As a tourist, was conned by their "Must Try" ice blended coffee on their menu. Cost SGD 6.10 in a small plastic cup with nothing but blended ice and coffee even though on the receipt states cold coffee with ice cream! Coffee was bland! Was given a number and meal was served to your table but wasn't informed that drinks you have to pick up yourself, ended up have to wait for drinks and not only the Must Try Ice Blended Coffee was totally disappointing, the ginger tea doesn't have tea taste! Good thing was had the opportunity to observe how they prepare the drinks, hot water in plastic cup for my coffee!!! No more next time. Coffeebean or Starbucks would have a bigger cup than theirs and more than happy to pay for the premium and the ambience!

One of the most poorly maintained outlet in thier franchise. Staff are least bothered to refill tissues in both in hand wash area and toilet. Nonchalant and rude staff who simply argue rather than doing thier job. Poor coordination between billing and kitchen and constantly disappoint customers who pay for sold out items. in spite of long queues, only one billing counter will be open. Chat/drink counter sometime forgot to deliver until checked.

Very tasty rava dosa. Good place to have quick Indian lunch. No big expectations because it’s simple eatery but food is not bad.
