Came down on a Saturday night to try. Surprisingly popular. Had to queue for 15 minutes before being seated. Ordered and the food only came 1 hour later. The same goes for others who came around the same time as us. There were many tables with no food on table. All our drinks are almost emptied and ice melted. Everybody was waiting for the food. Perhaps it was busy Saturday night that the chef could not keep up with orders. The food made up for it as it was as good as the reviews have mentioned. Cereal prawn is yummy and good. Vegetable dish is of high standards. Xiang Cun Fried Rice however has not much taste and it is a tad oily. Overall, food was good but not worth waiting 1 hour for. Will perhaps come back for a weekday night would be better for a quick dinner to try the rest of menu. (Wide variety of food to choose from) Improvement could be made on the waiting time.

Tasty vegetarian dishes priced quite reasonably. Their Toona Leaf (Xiang Chun) Fried Rice is one of our staples, with an incredibly rich flavour of the wok. Some other must-trys are the Creamy Monkey Head Mushrooms and Fish Bee Hoon soup. Seasoned with curry leaves, turmeric powder and generous amount of cooking cream, the Creamy Monkey Head Mushroom dish has just the right balance of spicy-sweet-savouriness. The Fish Slice Bee Hoon soup comes in a gigantic portion for just $4, great as a one dish meal for one person. The takeaway queues are usually long and be prepared to wait up to 40 min just for your food to be served/packed. April 2022 - Tried the Penang Assam Laksa today and was amazed at how much it tasted like the real deal! Recently, they started selling vegan Tau Sar Piah at their counter. Guilty to admit I'm hooked on them! The mushroom flavoured ones has bits of chewy mushroom while the curry ones tasted like a cross between a curry puff and salted bean pastry. Would come back to buy more of these flaky gems for my friends. Update on Tau Sar Piah June 2023: This batch is no good, the pastry is horrendously thick and the bean filling with mushrooms is very little. Will not purchase again.

Be prepared for long waiting time. It’s a weekday, and it’s not even crowded but we waited almost 45mins for dinner to be serve. Food wise is alright and tasted good - kitchen crew managed to adjust to our request for less salt & less oil. White rice slightly under-cooked.

This is my go to place for vegetarian food. Restaurant is fully air conditioned on the ground floor of a hdb flat. Simple home cooked style at very affordable price. Very comforting food and you won’t feel thirsty after. They have the scan your QR code and you can order straight away with payment directly as well. No need to queue for payment like last time. Much more convenient.

I remember the first time I was there--I went bonkers! The menu is filled with all my favourite food! The price is so so reasonable so ordering is easy. Too easy I guess, I often over order! Some of my favourite would be wonton mee, hor fun, satay, ipoh hor fun and chicken rice. The olive fried rice is exquisite. And do yourself a favour, you have to order their brinjal claypot... it is so scrumptious and gooey tasty. The service people are patient and they are good with regular customers like me and my team. Our company dinner is often at this place and it is great that no animals are slaughtered for the night. If you are going in the evening, my suggestion is to be there by 6.30pm. If you are late, dont say I did not warn you, there will be a queue. Be patient. Sometimes the service staff may be short and sweet or some my say they are curt, but hey, if you have overwhelming customers, you too will be rushing for time and short on words. Be patient. This is a great place for affordable, plant-based compassionate food. Most of all, it taste very good!

Be prepared to be surprised how tasty vegetarian food can be. There is plenty in the menu to go through but I can clearly recommend the crispy noodles and the mixed vegetable fish curry. Both are extremely tasty. Expect to spend $15 each for a full meal. A single person can possibly eat under $10. Parking is easy given that it is in a HDB estate.

Good, place with various vegetarian options with no onion or garlic. I really enjoyed visiting this place. It had noodles, rice and even side dishes. The claypot noodles is crispy and has a slimy yet enchanting texture. You can feel the crispness and freshness of the noodles as well as the vegetables. The Olive fried rice was soft, fluffy and enriched with flavour of olives. My favourite was the hot plate tofu. It was fluffy and squishy on the inside but crispy on the outside. The sour plum Iced tea was alright and kind of tasteless. The Chinese tea was soothing. Make sure to inform that you want less oil as they use quite a lot of oil.

A nice eatery tucked under HDB estate. Went in to try without much expectation. Ordered the curry fish and bittergound with soft set. First impression when the dishes arrived was normal but the food taste above average for a vegetarian place. The taste are on point and more towards heavy tastebuds. As for the bittergound with Tofu set, the only downside is the bittergound given was rather lesser than expected but they make up in giving you more tofu. There are many items on the menu which make it a great place for gathering as it have dishes that can cater to any one taste bud. Do note that when the place get packed, the place may be very noisy. Overall it is great restaurant serving vegetarian food at a reasonable price point.

Located along a hdb estate. The environs is clean and straightforward with a seating capacity of around 25-30 people. This is a vegetarian food restaurant and the serve a variety of zhi Ca inspired vegetarian food. Laksa : pretty good taste and quite close to the original meat variations Hotpot ee mee: definitely a winner. Wok hey taste and large portion KL noodles: wok hey but not as close to the original due to the lack of meat. This is sweeter. Char kway teow: good portion, taste just right and worth another order. Cereal prawn: can’t go wrong with the fried cereal but obviously the prawns are not actual prawns. Overall: a good place for vegetarian food. Easy to use app to order. Lots of food selections. Recommended

Good decent vegetarian restaurant. Though its a chinese restaurant, they have regional foods and some Western dishes too. Price: not so expensive with some dishes quite cheap and value for money. Quantity : Decent quantity for 1adult. Taste : I liked the taste. Right levels of spicing, salt and cooking. For those driving, you have a big car park adjacent to the restaurant. For those taking public transport, need to walk 300mts from main Road. No cover walking.

The place is rather crowded. Some of the tables for 4 are actually too small to seat 4. Barely can move your hand. If the tables and the layout is change, it could have sit more. I suppose the large tables are meant for large families, which there are a few while dining there. While the place is pack, serving was quite fast. The food was not too salty or over powering. Portion was a little small. Order 4 dishes for 3 adults and 1 child was just nice. Steamed cod fish ($10), claypot tofu ($8), monkey head mushroom (10) and seasonal vege ($8).

Found this restaurant recently located in Ang Mo Kio Town residential area. Full vegetarian and also suitable for Muslim community as well Food was nice. Staff were very friendly, cooperative and efficient. The food was served very fast within 10 min once I made my order. The interior is very simple traditional Chinese.

We come here occasionally to tapao vegetarian food or eat lunch. The place is frequently packed. Food service is slow during peak hours, expect 20 min waiting time during meal times. Largely cos I think there are fewer chefs vs orders. There is a very kind and nice older guy who is both waiter, server, register manager who is extremely patient and helpful vs the younger lady helpers. The chef puts effort into his work so if you are patient, expect decent quality food. I like their fried rice - different types. Add the home made sambal belacan, its good.

Did not expect to find this place for dinner, was just around AMK and wanted to get at a vegetarian place. To my surprise, the service was fantastic, greeted by very friendly staff, and the uncle helped arrange the baby chairs for me. Food was spot on for me. I enjoyed the nasi lemak very much, love the chilli. My nephew loved the margarita pizza, cheesy but not too overpowering. My wife enjoyed the mushroom soup a lot. The food were so good that I only took the photos midway eating😂

Food seems to be good, but waiting time was horribly long. We went on Friday night (6-March), and ordered 2 dishes (mushroom vege and fish curry). The food came only after 40 minutes (and repeated follow ups). We only get to eat the mushroom vege (which tasted OK) and unable to touch the curry fish at all (which looked nice too), as we had to leave to fetch our children already. Ended up wasting our time, money, and the food.

Zhen Yi Vegetarian is a restaurant. It is located at HDB ground floor, 10-12 mins walking distance from Ang Mo Kio Hub. Zhen Yi Vegetarian operates daily from 10am to 10pm. You can find plenty of food choices from individual meal to "zhu cha" (shared dishes usually serve with rice). Easily more than 50 choices. Big portion for Asian, food quality is above average (take Vegetarian and non-vegetarian food into consideration). The price of the food is inexpensive, considered the food is served in restaurant. For examples: - One cup of local coffee cost SGD 1.10 - One small plate of dry fried mushroom with cereal for 3-4 pax cost SGD 9.00 - One plate of fried mixed veggie for 3-4 pax cost SGD 8.00 - One plate of fried toufu for 3-4 pax cost SGD 8.00 - One bowl of rice for 1 pax, SGD 0.60 - Individual meals, mostly between SGD 3.50 and SGD 5.00 each * Price as of 10-Sep-2017 Ambience is average, but definitely better than coffee shop, food court and the like of coffee stall. I like the rack, ceiling and wall decoration. Check out my photos for more details ;-)

First time here and feel very disappointed. Bad service. Ordered food and waited for so long, and see so many people coming after us got their food and finish eating. Ask the waitress, she said many people so food will be serve slow. But saw many after us want had eaten and left. Second time ask, they check and said they had packed the food for take away. Ask we all to wait. They took out the food from the packing and reserved us. So bad. Not recommend at all. Why still got people come and eat.

Ordered yam ring, KL hokkien noodle, rendang curry (they used mock mutton for us), claypot brinjal with preserved mustard green. The best dish is the rendang followed by the yam ring. We were expecting the fat KL noodle but they used yellow noodle instead which is so different from the real thing. Not recommended. Apart from that the rest of the dishes are nice. Went there a second round. Had the monkey head mushroom, rendang (not with the 'mutton' mock) and ginger duck. We think if they use the mutton mock version in rendang it taste nicer. The texture is better. The other 2 is nice.

Had their sweet and sour “meat” rice set and Gong Pao G rice set. I love the sweet and sour “meat”. It’s super affordable, $5.5 and $6.5, and each set comes with a bowl of soup with mushroom, lettuce and tofu. Usually not a fan of mushroom but the soup really amazed me 👍🏼 I also ordered a takeaway order of the sweet and sour “meat”, really love how they’re so detailed with separating the sauce from the “meat” so it doesn’t gets soggy. I also love how friendly the staff are, super welcoming and attentive. Honestly it’s now one of my favourite restaurants, and will definitely come back again!!
