As a vegetarian shop, some of it's items are very close or matching it's taste to the non vegetarian version. The service, speed of delivery of the food and the taste of the dishes at this outlet is also much better compared to my visit to their Yishun Branch. Price wise, it's a bit pricey compared to many of it's vegetarian offering peers working out of other establishment. If you in the area and has a need for vegetarian/vegan to impress, this might be one of the first choice to consider unless ambient is a critical factor.

Please do not expect restaurant (not even zhi char) standard from this place. Ordered the $8 mixed vegetables and expected mixed variety of nice veggies with gravy. But turned out to be a small portion of mixed “unwanted” veges (stems of cabbage, small pieces of cauliflower and odd shapes of capsicums)… cooked with oyster sauce. Some cai fun stall can cook better than this. Waited more than half an hour for this.

There is an aircon and non-aircon section. Clean environment and reasonably priced food, hence, am a repeat customer. The wok hei is definitely strong and the taste beats any other meat serving zhi char stalls. Try their kuehs as well.

Yummy vegetarian food. 😋😋😋 the mee sua, cereal prawn, creamy prawn are delicious. The char kway teow is nice but too oily le. The vegetarian cereal prawn tastes like real cereal prawn. 😋😋😋 this is also good option for vegetarian breakfast. 😍😍😍 the mee sua tastes better than char kway teow. 😂😂😂

This is one good vegetarian restaurant in the east of Singapore. They mostly serve Chinese vegetarian food. Tons of options in mock meat, mushrooms and tofu with everything priced moderately. Love how they have curated the set meals which are very tasty and affordable. My hot favourites picks are - Fish curry rice set meal, hot plate tofu, creamy abalone mushroom and sambal fried rice! Has both outdoor and air-conditioned indoor seating. Although sometimes the place gets crowded and need to queue to find a table, it’s quite fast moving and the staff try their best to serve you quick! All in all, a 4/5.

Seen big improvement for the oily served fried food compare to past few years, still remember the Orh Luat, and other fried food menu were once very oily, whenever takeaway in packet back then, till need to pour away the oil, sometimes even at their busiest operation hour even worst full of watery oil in the takeaway packet. Unfortunately now the Orh Luat no more in the menu.

The worst ever vegetarian restaurant ever had, the waitress(woman) service is extremely low, need to do more training or will lose customer. Only come half the order and wait more than 1 hour, serving later customer instead of first come first serve, will not come again

Indoor aircond and outdoor seat available. Got lots of flies indoor. Some people leave the glass door open will have bird fly into the indoor aircond room. Staff fast service, decent portion and a wide variety of menu options. One of my favourite dish is yam ring and the fried carrot cakes. The hor fun a bit salty.

I took a medium spicy mala Xiang Guo for take away. It was amazing. Just nice for one person and it’s 14.5$! I simply loved the taste and spice! It can be a lil less watery at the bottom ! But other than that, it was incredibly tasting! Very busy at lunch and dinner hours.. there’s outdoor and indoor seating areas too!

I didnt have high hopes initially due to the stigma that vegetarian food is bland and boring but this was a pleasant surprise. While it was not able to full replicate the wok hey from traditional Cantonese tze char, it was still a tasty meal. Worth trying for an alternative tze char style

Highly attentive, accommodating, friendly staff, with super quick service both at ordering counter and receiving of food, even during peak weekend hours. Tables are cleaned/cleared quickly, staff ever-willing to clarify ingredients/dietary needs & very helpful manager. Self-service of extra cutlery, sugar, chilis etc. Affordable price with CDC voucher options. Very comfortable with both airconditioned indoor & outdoor seatings, with very very wide range of veg option from the mala, to the prata, to the usual zichar. Highly recommended!!! Happy to have them in the neighbourhood. Photo attached is recent eat (prata hardly greasy, & teh c kosong was incredibly well-done. one of the best brewed I had 🙌🏻👌🏻) Their cereal dishes are super fragrant too!! It’s no wonder it is always popular, w crowd even on weekdays. But you can rest assured w their fast & 10/10 service :)

EXCELLENT food, super flavourful and fresh, I absolutely loved it! This was the first time I tried Egg Hokkien Mee and I really liked the taste. As a vegetarian, finding good food options can really be a struggle but this place was just marvellous. If I visit Tampines again I’m definitely coming here! :)

Love the prata and curry! Must try -- Can't tell that it's vegetarian at all. I felt that the food was slightly salty and expensive but the food tasted good. Even though the restaurant was crowded, the staff was attentive and fast in clearing dishes. The last time I went it was still the kopitiam style, now they have an aircon room. The whole place felt cleaner and more comfortable.

Was badly craving for vegetarian Bak Kut Teh, not many restaurants serve Bak Ku Teh after lunch time. This restaurant serves Bak Ku Teh throughout the day. Tried Bak Ku Teh with Kway Teow and Hokkien mee. Loved both the dishes, we were surprised how the dishes tasted so delicious when it is purely vegetarian. No pork oil or lard added. But, it tasted nothing less than the actual dishes we get outside. Best Bak Ku Teh I have had. A must try. They have both indoor and outdoor seating area, and clean utensils. The food prices are much affordable.

Great place for vegetarians. There are a lot of options on the menu. There is the Tze char style and also one dish options. Serving portions are generous and well flavoured. Place is air conditioned and service is prompt. Will be back to try the other food options on the menu.

Eaten here twice now (takeaway and on-site), so that makes me an expert on the food here :-P Smallish menu, but everything was good - the vege of the day had a lovely smoky sauce/taste; the tofu was a delight and the yam ring was also (somewhat) pleasant, although probably not very much yam inside the ring :-P. There is an indoor airconditioned seating area (order by QR code, help yourself to sauces and plates and cutlery, orders are served to your table); and also an outdoor seating area. Gets VERY crowded on weekends, so be prepared.

I tried their egg prata and it was actually quite good. It was quite fluffy and the prata was not overcooked. The gravy is what makes it unique because its not a usual fish/chicken curry or dhal that most shops provide, but instead its their signature curry that is something like a thick japanese curry with spicies ? It is very unique and nice. Would recommend trying here for the curry. Tables were generally clean, although most of them seemed to have plates lying around. The staff seemed understaffed, not irresponsible, and when I sat down, they came over to faster clean our table, so good job for them.

Part of a chain of vegetarian f&b business. This particular outlet while being a refreshing alternative to the nearby hawker centre veg stalls, has rather inconsistent services that is more often terrible than great. It's typically not my first choice but if I have to go there , I need to pray real hard my food turns out proper and that I don't get a cold shoulder like I'm here to beg for a meal. I guess it happens when businesses let it get to their heads.

Long waiting time today when I go zi Zai Tampines to pack my dinner. Surprisingly those who came after me got their food 1st. Only ordering 3 items and got to wait for almost 40-45 mins. Was wondering if tonight there is only 1 Chef cooking all the orders . Even a customer also complain of Long waiting time (almost 30mins) for her mee sua soup and one poor food panda delivery guy got to wait also 30 mins to pick up his order. (In front of him have 2 food panda rider pick up their orders and left). Hope they can work out something to cut down on the Long waiting time for the orders. PS : today is a Tuesday evening and not 初一/十五!

Really bad customer service..???????? Called and ask if they take reservation.. They replied with a very inpatient "NO! Only walk-in" So wanted to ask if they have an online menu so I can pre order. Then they reply me with "you go online find yourself lah" SERIOUSLY?! You food can be tasty, but your customer service is so CMI, I rather spent my money elsewhere to have lousy food than eating at this place... ??????

We decided to drop by for dinner as we happened to be in the vincinity and we saw a number of positive reviews online. I wasn't disappointed. There was a wide variety of dishes to select from and I had a moment of decision paralysis because everything sounded interesting. We ended up ordering a plate a chilli monkey head mushrooms, cereal prawns, hor fun and a bowl of white rice. I loved the texture of the mushrooms and the sauce went well with the rice. The prawns were served with a generous amount of cereal and I liked how crisp the prawns were.

Never come here for Chinese New Year. Me and my family came for their CNY Dinner and the service was really bad..had to find our own chairs, the chairs were dirty and the staff don’t even bother. they kept sending wrong dish to our table even though only 8 tables were having their cny set. they have no time to turnover their cutlery and bowls, soup serve without smaller bowls and spoon!!! Then they rush to serve you your dishes so that you can finish faster even though we started 30 mins later From our given “slot”.within the first 20 mins,we were served 4 of our 8 dishes...it is “better” than fast food. To make it all worse, the lady at the counter really sxxks. When we informed that we need a chair and can we use the one at the counter with bags on it,her reply was “i also need to seat”...gosh..how to customer ear when we are not seated?!??!!??

Am a long time supporter of this vegetarian restaurant. Came here before they started installing aircon. The food here is so good and pretty affordable. Sometimes as a vegetarian, it's difficult to find the curry for the prata because the curries outside typically have onion and garlic or are not vegetarian. This place serves prata with delicious curry. The yam ring is also one of my favourite!

Do not come here for Chinese New Year!!! It might be ok when it's not a busy period but it was super chaotic when we had our reunion dinner earlier. - Lo hei served with missing ingredients and we have to ask them for it - We had to serve ourselves - No drinks until we asked for it. They just placed 2 bottles of soft drink.for us with no cups. We had to ask for cups - Plates and bowls given were not cleaned properly (still have sauce on the bowl and plate) - They repeatedly gave us the wrong number of plates/bowls (we have 8 pax but keep getting 6/7 and ended up having to go to them repeatedly to get more plates/bowls) - The last dish was fried ice cream and we have to keep reminding them to serve the dish. When the dish came it was served with no cutlery and side plates. Also, ice cream served was already melting There were more issues but these are the main ones. The staff did try to help us but unfortunately, it was still very chaotic. Food was ok, but presentation was not really awesome. At least the food was ok? But service is just really bad -- and for a reunion dinner set that costs close to $300... Not worth it at all..better to pay more and go to a proper restaurant for reunion dinner... Very disappointed with the service.

This is my go-to vegetarian place for cheap and yummy food. However, the air con area can be quite crowded and not to my comfort. Food was great. Need to get attention of the cashier to order. I arrived at 1115H and ordered. My food came at 1215H when when cashier told me need to wait 45 min. I think it’s due to many grab food orders. Pricing of food is good. Not expensive. Taste is great too. I had the fish soup and curry fish head. Wide menu selection. Easy to find car park. Place is easy to locate

I am very disappointed with the delivery at Tampines branch . I am not sure if it was a shortfall from the restaurant's side or on FoodPanda . I ordered twice from my workplace from Zizai Vegetarian at Tampines branch . The first time I wasn't aware and I received my food without any cutlery or condiments like cut chilli . The second time was way worse . I had indicated clearly in my order yet the same thing happened . To make it worse , I had ordered Wanton noodles and it was delivered in a polythene plastic bag instead of a container !! The basics are not delivered , let alone serviettes . The photo on the Foodpanda webpage shows Wanton noodles with mock red char siew , but when I received my food was without the char siew . Similarly the first time I ordered carrot cake the photo featured on the webpage was completely different from what I received . It was an inviting picture of a regular carrot cake that appeared neat , but what I got was scrambled eggs that were very messy . I tried to indicate no eggs as I am pure vegetarian but there was no option to do so . In 2021 the delivery fees have increased too . From $3.99 it is now $4.49 . It was really not worth my money . For those who are not aware usually the price online is more expensive than when we order in person . Not sure if it is due to the cost of the tupperware . But in my case even the cutlery was not included ! I have had an unpleasant experience and I may not order from my workplace from this branch again .

(Translated by Google) Free Vegetarian has opened several branches in Singapore in the past few years. The only one is the one I used to frequent. In the early days, all kinds of vegetarian dishes were cooked in general, but it has improved a lot in the past few years. However, the taste of food recently is too heavy (too salty)! At present, vegetarian food has become a healthy trend, and the color and fragrance must be controlled! Customers can never stop, and I hope that the people in charge in all regions will pay attention to food.

I would say the most decent price on vegetarian zhi char, but usually during dinner time, the queue would be long and waiting time would be above 45 minutes. PROs: Delicious food Cheaper price than other store CONs: Long Waiting time, able to hit up to 1 hour 30 minutes

Neighbourhood restaurant. Good prata. 煮炒 is good for vegetarians. Can be pricey. Some staff attitude abit weird but if you can see past that it's okay.

Ordered a plate of prata and had to wait for almost an hour. Diners out there beware of the long waiting time and poor customer service!

Good food at reasonable price. The queue and wait can be long at times. So go there only when you're not in a rush

Good Vegetarian Food. They do use egg, inform them when you order if you don’t want eggs in your dishes. Can be crowded on new moon and full moon days. Dinner time might need to wait for table. Staff are friendly. Price is reasonable. Food tasted good.

Have visited this place a couple of times and ordered delivery too. Decent selection of items on the menu, taste and price is ok. Only thing is that the food can be a bit too oily sometimes, and the waiting time during dinner can be horrendous. Do come/order earlier to avoid the long wait time.

Forgot to do our dish, but keep telling us it is in the kitchen in the kitchen. waited 30 mins for a simple seaweed rice. Other customers came later than us but their food arrived before us and they already finished eating, but we still waiting for the seaweed rice. In the end the dish looks so simple to prepare, definitely not gonna take 30 mins to prepare. Forgot to do but don't say the truth.

Went to have lunch with friends. It's very convenient to reach the stall. Just alight at Tampines west mrt, exit at Exit A, take escalator up, walk straight and you can see.

An eatery amongst the HDB area but it’s not a hawker stall, more like an individual eatery with 2 HDB shop spaces, seating areas indoor and outdoor. The space is pretty cramped and tight. A crowded bustling feeling if you like such atmosphere it’s ok. The staff managing the tables, cleaning etc were trying to be fast and attentive as best they could but it’s too short staffed I think so they can’t really handle in a timely way. The food took a long time to be served. Apparently not enough chefs that day. Some tables waited over an hour to get food on their tables. Some people also waited quite a while to be seated. The food potions were quite ok, not very little, the taste was also ok. Doesn’t taste like vegetarian food. It does taste like regular zichar food. You won’t miss meat while eating here. At least for me. The olive fried rice, egg tofu hot plate, salted egg fried mushroom, “fish” beehoon etc. Prices are also reasonable. If you’re vegetarian and craving Zichar it’s a pretty good place to go to in the east.

The food was absolutely delicious. Each dish that I tried was bursting with flavor, and it was clear that the chefs at Zi Zai take pride in using only the freshest ingredients. Whether you're a vegetarian or not, I would highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. The menu at Zi Zai is quite extensive, with plenty of options to choose from. From appetizers to entrees, there's something for everyone. Even if you're not a vegetarian, you'll be able to find something that suits your taste buds. Overall, I would definitely recommend Zi Zai to anyone who's looking for a good vegetarian restaurant. The food is great, the menu is extensive, and the service is friendly and efficient. So if you're in the mood for some delicious vegetarian food, be sure to check out Zi Zai.

All food was made without meat items.we ordered hot plate chicken rice and fragrant fried rice. I usually salt lover 🧂.but they were not adding enough salt to the dishes.apart from that, food was good.

Nice vegetarian food with reasonable price. Wide varieties of dishes, taste good. Parking is easy as there is a big car park behind the shop.

My go-to place for vegetarian food if im near that area. The service here seems to be better as compared to other Zi Zai Vegetarian stores. Food is good, as per their other stores. We ordered the Signature Asam Fish, Hotplate Mini Steak, Four Heavenly Kings, Claypot Brinjal, Claypot vegetables, Fried Meesua, and Vegetarian Shark Fin Soup. Personally, i enjoyed the Claypot vegetables the most.

🫤 I have always visited the branch nearer Lavender as the staff has always been friendly and kind, while the food there has always been up to standard. 😐 Staff were friendly and good service. The Mazu Mee Sau was quite nice, different from what I ate from other restaurant. The deep fried pork trotter a disappointment, was quite oily and the skin was not crispy, kind of hard to bite. Been here few time, feel the standard has drop.
