🫤 I usually never write reviews but this place was extremely expensive for less than average food, the 3 of us were very disappointed by our food (and the small portions). Also the service was too slow and it was too hot inside. It was uncomfortable to eat there. People often mention challenge, experience, level, time, great, good, Indian, nice, chef, love,

I have been coming to Lagnaa since they opened a long time ago! Everytime I had friends visiting from overseas, Lagnaa was definitely a place where I took them to so we could enjoy exquisite Indian cuisine. I love spicy food and I love Lagnaa's concept of 'choosing your own spice level'! Now, I have been l living overseas for the past 9 years but everytime I come back to Singapore, I will bring my family over. Although some people might think that the food portions are small for the price, we feel that the portions are perfect! The price reflects the quality and we can try a variety of dishes without feeling overly full! Lagnaa will always be a place for me when I come home. What's even more amazing is how all the staff remembers me - even after a 3 year hiatus due to covid! That is how personal Lagnaa is - it is not just an incredible concept and restaurant - Lagnaa is the definition of home for me. Thank you Kesavan and team - we will always be back! :)

Really nice food with an interesting dining concept. Loved sitting on the floor upstairs. The chef / owner was lovely. I think my favorite dish was the butter chicken, but honey everything we tried was lovely. The samosas and the tandoori chicken were also great. Yum!

One of the best and most authentic Indian meals I’ve had in awhile. Was a really great experience overall. The staff was great, they were knowledgeable and friendly. You know customer service is top notch when the bosses takes time to come and have a chat with their customers. Very personal touch! Let’s not forget the food! Everything I had was amazing! Not being someone who eats mutton due to the taste at times. The mutton masala was really good! Also for those who are up for a challenge when it comes to spice. Go for their level 6 spice challenge… IF YOU DARE 🔥😈🔥

Walked in on a Friday evening just to try out ! Was a good overall experience! Didn’t get to try the barefoot dining “space” located at level 2 (air conditioned) as it closes at 8:30, but tried the fresh air dining in L1 with shoes on and the food tasted as good 😀 The Masala Tea was nice and aromatic , though a bit too sweet & next time will remember to ask for sugar separately! The Tandoori fish set with spinach rice was nice ! Someone very clever managed the PR designs the menu and sets the culture which is very customer friendly and people enjoy coming here ! Next time will taste the food barefooted

Lagnaa - Not sure where to start lol. Made last minute decision to have dinner there on Nov 8th a little after 6pm. Especially after reading the hilarious bylines for each dish on their online menu. We didn't realize it was the day for chili challenge (full moon). I'm a chili head and could choose up to level 6 (out of 9), so that if you make it, you can be invited next time to try level 7 - need to per-qualify or work through level 1 through 6 based on your tolerance. We sat barefoot upstairs for regular food. We had Gobi 65 for appetizer (crispy thin batter, moist cauliflower), good fish curry, outstanding eggplant (kathri pachadi), Upara rice (reallly really flavorful), and some naan. All dishes were flavored/spiced just right where the main ingredients shone through. You can tell the base masala was freshly made, and the dishes were pulled together when ordered. My level 6 curry challenge dish was served at the same time. It was hot no doubt, but finished it pretty quickly. Since only two of the floor seatings were full upstairs (out of 7 or 8), we only saw the waiter twice over 1h+ - we wanted more drinks lol. This was probably bc downstairs had the chilli challenge start 7:30 or so where people were attempting anywhere from Level 4 to Level 9. We went downstairs on our own eventually to pay bill - it was a festive atmosphere with 3-5 patrons in the challenge. More importantly Chef Kaesavan was the master of torture regaling everyone with his great sense of humor and irreverence (in a nice way). We ended up staying downstairs encouraging others, drinking outstanding G&T, and Lion Stout and were made to feel very welcome by the Chef, and his staff. I even got to down a shot of level 7 curry - that was spicy for sure lol - looking forward to the challenge next time. And shared a whisky (or two) with the Chef and long convo into the night with him and Kristabel :-). We left after 11pm or so - after eating a few extra bites with chef and staff at closing. Just a very cool place with a huge personality in it's food, ambience, kinmanship - humanity at it's best. Oh, it's a 2022 Michelin bib gourmand pick.

Not impressed with the food or place. The 2 ladies are very friendly & nice. The 2 stars is for the nice ladies. The only thing which is different here is that you are seated on the floor. No Ambience at all. We ordered the crystal lamb Biriyani which was overpriced, The lamb was dry. The quantity was really less for the price. So many better Biriyani places around That area. Prawn curry was nothing great. I usually love any type of Prawn but this I just couldnt eat.The kabab was dry too. Service was not great at all, So there was no one upstairs, unless they came to take ur order & bring the food. We wanted water, waited for 10 mins and had to walk downstairs to ask for it. My daughter found the kabab and Biriyani too spicy so we had to walk down again to ask for yoghurt to make her feel better. Also the little bowl of plain Yoghurt was $10!!!!!!! We felt it was super over priced. I have added the picture of the bill below. Had to blur out our faces, but thats the room we ate at. Regret spending our evening there.

It is a very unique experience for us. Besides the barefoot dining experience, the staff are super nice and friendly. They just don't treat you as customer but they kinda make you feel at home. HAHA. They are amazing that they even don't bother the time and just sit & chat with like friends catching up. MX took the chilli challenge at Level 6 and he survived it!!! HAHAHA. The level of spiciness here is just incredible and at the same time scary. HAHA. Incredible because the spices they use are really authentic and scary because it is really spicy. 🥵 The food here is also amazing. So far, this is the best Indian food I had. Their chicken curry is really delicious. I would choose it over the mutton one. That's how good it was. Also, the masala tea is also very nice. It is a must-try. 👍 Actually, everything you order here is just amazing. If you're a first timer, I recommend ordering their curry shots to test out your chilli level. It is also very cute. 😂 Do visit them and get the best experience while enjoying Indian food. Do watch our own experience on my Youtube channel at It's Camille B.

All people coming to this restaurant. Please note. The chef it’s self is rude and in denial of any feedback given to him. He take the feedback very personally. So UN PROFESSIONAL. I think Gordon Ramsay should come to his restaurant and fix his ego and attitude first and the fact that he takes customer feedback so personally. The yogurt is acidic and the owner chef is in denial and say loud “my yogurt is the best in town” I hope you start traveling to other restaurants in Singapore to upgrade your taste for high quality yogurt. To chef. Fix your attitude my friend else keep putting your money to run the restaurant. There is a reason why owners who are chefs don’t cook and take care of customer so that they don’t take customer feedback personally. Customer is the King remember that. Without us you have no business. YOU ARE IN B2C business. Price is good. No issue for price. The only person very sweet and who understands service is the lady standing in the reception who took our order today. Butter chicken is good. The naan is good good good overall. I hope again you don’t take this review of mine personally AGAIN.. Let’s see…… Either you Deny this review or you work and research more and rectify your customer feedback. Upto you Mr chef.

Had a great dinner experience here this evening! Service was great, and it was fun to chat with the bosses / chef. What was most impressive was the quality of food here! Every dish was amazing! We enjoyed every bit of our time there. From the very interesting lassi ball appetiser at the beginning, to the delicious naans and various dishes! Food was so good that I ordered an extra saffron rice! Will definitely be back to try more food, and perhaps sit upstairs for the barefoot experience!

Very interesting experience yesterday. Last minute booking. Interesting concept of spice challenge. Located in little India. The food was very tasty. The owner of the place very friendly. Impressive to see that the restaurant managed to stay in the Michelin list for so many years in a row. Nan very well cooked (at least the way I like). Will happily come again to have a nice diner.

My wife and I stumbled across this wonderful restaurant purely by chance on a walk through little India. I think we were initially attracted by the chilli challenge or it might have been the simple but colourful decor, that made it stand out, either way a 5 minute conversation with the hostess about the restaurant convinced us we would return for lunch and I can assure everyone you could not be disappointed with the standard of service and quality of the Indian cuisine on offer. Whilst we did not submit ourselves to the chilli challenge our simple dish selections provided adequate spice for our palates and the dishes were not simply about the spice the flavours coming through were delightful. The owner \ head chef arrived during our lunch a very colourful character and the lady we first met make for an absolutely delightful charming couple who have a love for what they do that shines through. A gem of a find a jewel in the crown of any visit to Singapore, we were so lucky to find you.

Lovely ambience and authentic Indian food.Chef Kesavan has a great understanding of ayurveda principles and made our food with outstanding perfection. Probably only place in Singapore were you can dine sitting on the floor in a true traditional way.

Food was good, especially the monkey head mushroom dish. Prices were a tad too high for the portion size though. Suggest to do takeaway to qualify for the 30% discount. Our server, Shanti, was friendly and made our dining experience delightful.

The portion is a bit small compared to the price but the food is really tasty. The owner and staffs are really friendly. I highly recommend Methi Naan. I love the cripsy multi-layered texture on the outside and soft buttery on the inside. It reminds me of croissants haha Overall it was a great experience. Definitely will come back 💯

An amazing and authentic environment with unique deliveries of classic dishes. They have a sauce heat sampler platter to see what heat level you like. There's a challenge wall for those seeking immortality as well. But the naan and sauces are too notch. A must try. The proprietors are amazing and have a fun sense of humo(u?)r.

WOW! Where do I even begin… easily one of the best, most delicious places to eat out I’ve ever been to! Great and authentic setting, delicious Indian cuisine and lovely staff to make you feel like home. The spicy challenge is so fun and the taste of the food there is simply out of this world! A must visit if you happen to be in Singapore!

Spicy food challenge: I cleared level 6 in Oct 2017. And there I was, in Jan 2024, almost 7 years older but none the wiser, trying to tackle level 7. The Chef and the rest of the crew were theatrical (my kind of people!). There's music and of course, you had to sign a condemnity form wait I mean indemnity form to ensure that you wouldn't sue the chef and his crew. Long story short. I thought I was about to die. I ran to the bathroom on the second floor so I could scream in pieces. Hold on. I mean peace. Now I know why they had to close the restaurant during the Full Moon Spicy Challenge. Coz this is how I imagined the cows were screaming during Eid. Remember when you had an orgasm? Multiply the decibel level by 13. I screamed so loud another patron had to ask the staff to check if I were OK (Morgan Freeman's voice: She was not OK). Anyway, long story short. I was a fallen soldier. Not sure if anyone else did complete the challenge because I was too busy thinking if a spicy alien would burst out of my tummy even after we paid the bills.

Changed my perception of Indian food in Singapore : well-curated, small portion size, so I didn't feel stuffy while digesting and a bit pricy. Masala tea was better than I had in Mumbai but it would have been perfect if the sugar was on the side.

Recommend this place for authentic Indian! A little on the pricey side and the dishes are quiet small A little expensive for Indian but they do have a spicy curry competition! Where if you do the challenge and finish the curry you get a little chilli and a peg on the wall.

I've been to Lagnaa many times since 2021, ordering either via grab during the pandemic or dining in. Why do I love this place? + food cooked with love, tastes like home +Wholesome ingredients + can't begin to tell you what I love from here because I can't decide, but cheese naan, butter chicken (I could lick the whole thing), CURD RICE comes up top for me. Chocolate naan and masala chai are also blow chef's kiss. Both items were my comfort food during the COVID lockdowns. But apart from the food, I come here when I want to get tickled intellectually. K7 is a wonderful person to banter and have chai with. Lagnaa feels like home, do come home. :)

Food was nice and tasty, but not great enough to justify the high prices. Unlikely to go there again. The reservation concept was unusual and requires a deposit of $22 per person in advance. In the end, I just dropped in and seats were readily available since the restaurant was pretty empty.

Had an incredible time here! My group stumbled in not knowing at all what was in store for us. We first of all were impressed that this place made the Michelin List so many years in a row, and then we saw the hilarious Spice Challenge and were intrigued with all of the fun events this place hosts like the Full Moon Nights & the cooking classes. The owner/chef was so awesome. He was so funny and sarcastic and also encouraged us to get out of our American-Indian comfort zone and wouldn’t let us all just order Tikka Masala as we originally planned, and because of that, it turns out I found authentic Indian food I loved even more! I really wish I lived here so I could take the cooking classes with him! Many thanks for providing our group with such an entertaining experience and pushing us out of our comfort zones. It was truly a time!
