The place is tucked away in a nice quiet corner of Singapore - making for very pleasant lunches with friends. Evenings would be more buzzy in that strip of restaurants. There is an open air large car park very close by - making things even more convenient. The food of the place is simple, and not overdone. The tastes are flavorful and clean. The items on the menu are fairly spread out. And they seem to have quite a few items which are not in the main menu, but are on separate noticed all over the place, from the door to the side walls. The place also has mala hot pot option, with a range of vegetables and mock meats. That is quite a treat. They have a good range of drinks too, including some freshly made ones like barley or water chestnut. And the fact that they are open till 4am is a rarity for Singapore. The staff is nice and friendly. On the whole, highly recommended.

Good for chinese good, must visit if you want to have different experience, different types of noodles, only veg (including egg) is available, you can select you our own meals or can choose from different menu, famous for its chilly, staff is friendly, everything is chargeable be it water, tissue paper. you can sit inside or outside the restaurant, Washrooms are ok, but can be better

Excellent vegetarian restaurant along Jalan Kayu! The staff are very friendly and the foods are served very quickly even though they have a full house on a Sat afternoon. I love the sambal petai and dry curry chicken. The hou tou gu spinach is good too. The price is also very affordable. Very happy to have this vegetarian option in my hood that I can visit regularly.

Was walking around the area and can't really decide on where to eat, decided to eat here as there's air-con 😛 but the plus point is that the food here is delicious! 😋 Ordered the Olive Fried Rice, Claypot Ee Mian, Monkey Head Mushroom with Broccoli and everything tasted fantastic! 💯 However, it was a bit salty but acceptable for us! 😝 Price is also reasonable considering that it's vegetarian, they also have mala hotpot which we will come back and try one day! Overall, a delicious meal ☺️

Not bad, food is fairly price, not cheap but nice. The Chongqing grill fish is nicely executed. Sotong kangkong also nice. One of the last few vegetarian Indian Rojak for sale. Eat until very full. Come support la.

Yesterday 九月初一 As of 5pm+ packed with crowd. Crowd control still pretty good & organized. Overwhelming biz, probably chef rushed thru. Olive rice is kinda hard. 麻辣 dishes so-so

The food is not bad, price is ok as well. But there might be a waiting time sometimes. The parking in the area isn't very convenient though.

Pretty good find along Jalan Kayu - Chinese vegetarian outlet with wide variety ranging from tze char dishes to mala as well as Indian rojak. Rice serving was generous however could tell it was pre cooked and not exactly hot without the wok hei taste. We liked the cereal toufu and Indian rojak. Save your calories and skip the Hokkien Mee. Decent place to try; ambience is alright and food is served fast, though would be better if their dishes had the wok hei taste.

First time visiting the restaurant and the food is very flavourful despite it's vegetarian. Mala Xiang Guo : Must try, it taste better than some MLXG actually. Limited choices as they have yet to top up the ingredients. So we just kiap whatever is leave there. Claypot noodle : Shiok with the ee mian, gravy was thick so it's a good combination with the ee mian. Vegetables were fresh 😋 Will visit again, furthermore they close at 4am. Ambiance not the best, some part of the restaurant are quite warm. Other than that, please try ah!

Did not expect to order until $22.80 but after the server passed me the huge bowl of mala xiang guo, I told myself this is the biggest mala portion I have ever attempted to eat. Overall, I think the medium spicy level was on point and it was not too salty and oily like most mala stalls. The serving is seriously huge enough to feed 2-3 persons. Will come again for the mock meat next time.

First time here and was quite disappointed! Firstly the service was not great - there were 2 empty 5 seaters, and they refused to let us 4 patrons sit there - There was no one else in the queue, most people were already mid way through their meal, and it was probably post peak dinner time. The irony in that we had to stand around to wait… While the next 5 patrons if any (there wasn’t), wouldn’t need to… All the food was also very mediocre for the price, and I’m speaking from being a vegetarian who’s explored a lot of vegetarian Chinese places around Singapore. Chili crab sauce tasted like chicken rice chilli + water + starch, potato leaves tasted undercooked, braised toufu also had overwhelming star anise taste - a little odd I thought for a Chinese dish, with no mention of it at all on the menu.

Loving the crispy pratas from #shuvegetarian! They are served with a side of tangy curry that will win the hearts of thick-gravy lovers! Also, no ghee was used! Frozen prata was used and they use margarine instead of ghee, suitable for vegans!

The Jalan Kayu franchise branch outlet interior art deco is beautiful, welcoming and exude an ambience air of hospitality, the Buddhist quotes & sayings hanging on the wall are appropriate theme with vegetarianism, the waitresses, service personnel are accommodating, customer-oriented, patient, courteous, kind and caring. The food and beverage offered are always good in quality, dishes are freshly-prepared with authentic ingredients and also appropriately-priced in accordance to outside current prevailing market rate.

This my 4th visit to try other dishes, didn't know the roti prata is so great, the outer layer is crispy and the inner part is chewy, very match with the thick savory curry that will be back again for this dish.. The lotus roots with black beans soup served in claypot is a must that i cannot miss.. We really enjoyed the young emperor shoots served only leaves without stalk is really worth to eat.. The sambal petai with mix vege also good, especially the sambal but slightly oily. Service wise, I think the waitress have improved.. keep it up!

Their mala deserves a 5 star. ordered 中辣, their base is great that it's not oily, and the spice level is abit more spicier than the usual 大辣 outside. some of their mock meat taste great too 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 (but their drinks abit ex. the sparking oldenlandia cost 1.9) Update: Back here on 4th Nov, mala still as awesome. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Jalan Kayu Branch: Not alot of people but waiting was abit long. Ordered noodles take away which staff say enough for 2 pax, ended up upon seeing portion is less, I ordered another extra fried noodles. 2nd pack was out but staff didn't passed it to me. Saw it cos I was sitting in front of the counter. Saw staff only took the same pack of noodles to me 10minutes later. Wondering why made me wait for extra 10mins when the pack of food was done in 5mins. Services need to be improved. Food quality wise, so so. So do give it a try if you are strict vegetarian and nothing else along the stretch can be eaten.

This is a sincere vegetarian restaurant. The food and cooking quality are pretty good. It is the first local vegetarian shop to stay open until three in the morning. I heard that their spicy food is very delicious. I can't eat spicy food, so I didn't eat it. But it’s a bit inconvenient to drive there by car, as there is no parking lot.

Five Stars: The vegetarian food in Jalan Kayu, Singapore, tastes great, and I’ve visited here many times. They offer a wide variety of vegetarian dishes, and the portions are generous, so you’ll definitely feel satisfied. They also introduce new items to the menu from time to time. Also, their vegetarian Mala Xiang Guo is a must-try too. Just Hope: The standout food is their 'caifan 菜饭’, as you can see in the photos I posted – many choices, and it tastes amazing. A must-try! I love it. However, it's only available starting from 9 pm every day. If they could offer the caifan earlier, around 6 pm, it would be more convenient for people after work.
