Authentic Indian food. Normal ambience. It feels like home cooked food and they treat you as if your at home. They are also very flexible with their sides. They will replace the chutney and sambaar for yogurt and pickle if you want. The paratha are phenomenal. It tastes so crispy and fluffy. It is spread out equally and is thinned to perfection. If you want another piece of poori or dosa they will bring it to you in a basket just like how you do it at home. The options are vegetarian and affordable. However, the hygiene can be improved enormously. Overall, a good place to eat authentic Indian food

No frills, South Indian restaurant, for an amazing homely meal. The mels and all the accompaniments are delicious, and it makes you feel you are in Chennai.

I loved going to Mani Iyer with my friends before 3 yrs. Now what is the changes with management or anything I am not sure. The service is not acceptable from last time. Previously she as 1 lady handles everything. But now got more people still not feeling pleasant or satisfied. Nobody is even smiling at customers. Whatever, the food good quality and taste is same yesterday today and forever

Great place for sattvic, homely, South Indian vegetarian food. Was super happy to find this place. The prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly. The water is self-serve and you can ask for extra servings of curry and sides. Visa and master card are not accepted so we ended up paying using GrabPay.

Visited this place twice for dinner during our Singapore trip. Loved the food and the quick service. Never imagined that I would get “godhumai rava upma” outside India and it was absolutely yum! The best part is the food is just like how food tastes at home. Visit this place and do yourself a favour.

Pure south Indian vegetarian food 😋 👌🫰❤️ The best south Indian vegetarian food in Little India. Taste is like India. All the dishes are very tasty and wonderful. 👌❤️ The movement you enter the restaurant you can feel the aroma of plantain/bannana leaf-this can find in some of good old Indian restaurants in India. 👍🍽

It's a reasonable priced south Indian vegetarian restaurant. They did not carry all the items in the menu. Based on items ordered, categorized in 3 categories Yummy: mini podi idli, podi onion uttappam (especially with vathal kozhambu , it was too good) Good: Puri, Onion pakoda , sweet paan, kothu parrota Ok: coconut boli

Good food. Reasonable prices. Not high end, so keep your expectations above kopitiam but below full service restaurant.

This is a heavily underrated restaurant. The food is amazing and awesome taste. I feel the best South Indian homely meals is served here in Singapore. They are serving food with passion and it reflects in the taste of the food.

One of the best quiet places located in a small lane in little India. The south Indian fare served is simple, homely but very tasty. Ambience is also simple and really basic. Do try the Mini Tiffins here!

It is always an "Go-to" place for full course tamilnadu special meals. The food tastes so good that it is homemade and it tastes better when you go in a group of friends. The hospitality is awesome and the grandfather out there takes care of every single customer through serving.

The vegetarian full meal is very tasty and authentic. The rice was hot and went well with the sambar. The vegetables were nice too. A bit pricy though. But who cares once a while

Visited this place many times, tasty Indian food is available and atmosphere will be good for families compared to many eateries in this area. Hygiene and food quality is well maintained, prices are a little high. Tried their mini Sambar idly, Masala dosa, rava dosa, poori set followed by tea, coffee and Pan. One of the good coffees available here and will recommend to visit. Saturdays and Sundays will be busy than weekdays. Do visit.

We went for a Dinner and to be honest the quality of the food is very average. We ordered Onion Uthappam and Poratta Set. Uthappam was good but the Chutney and Sambar was very cold. Porotta Set was fully of oily and Kuruma which they provided was cold too, atleast it should be warm but we got everything cold. Apart from these, Hotel atmosphere is neat and clean, service was better. But please don’t compare the food in this hotel with hotels in India/Tamil Nadu. If you compare it for sure you will get disappointed.

Excellent affordable simple south Indian meals, almost like home cooked.

Authentic south indian cuisine. I enjoyed the rice set and they are very generous with the amount of food they serve. (Fyi all dishes in the rice sets are refillable) The lady manning the counter is not very fluent in English so communication (as a non-tamil speaker) might be difficult. But she is very friendly and she tries her best to accommodate to your requests. The place is not well known to tourists so the restaurant is quiet, which I appreciate very much. The only issue I have is that the tea is served in very small cups and they do not have a large option. Otherwise, I really like this place!

It is considered as a good place for vegetarians to dine in. Meals are served from 11am to 4pm but tiffin items are sold after 5pm. The restaurant is cheap and the food is good. Good customer service.

I have tears in my eyes as I finish this thali. Food was so good I could feel the maternal love in every morsel. Thank you starting this restaurant, value for money, unassuming and delicious, the way it should be.

Best Tamil meal in Singapore. Little know the place that if you don’t mind the lack of decor, I would highly recommend. Simple, tasty and healthy (not oily) food one can eat every day - I almost do. 😉

The worst food I ever had in Singapore out of past 10 years. They served spoiled chutney , Chappathi made of spoiled flour. Very worst unhygienic environment. I got food poisoning due to the same. Please don’t trust this restaurant for any kind of food they serve.

I had no discomfort after taking Idly set at Mani Iyer Mess which means no soda! Coconut chutney was great but a little cold (fm fridge), otherwise no complaints, Idly was soft. My husband had Kothu parata which was also not oily and tasted great. Definitely will make MIM our regular eatery to go.

Bought one south Indian meals yesterday on lunch time. The price for takeaway meals is $10.50. The lunch price was keep increasing at Mani Iyer in the last 3-4 years significantly. Santhi vilas at Cuff road offers full meals takeaway for $6 and Ananda Bavan (main) for $9.10 (same price for dine-in & takeaway). The price is too costly at Mani Iyer and being called as Mess. Please change the name to Restaurant and keep this price. For sure, people will reduce their visits for lunch at this cost. I give 2 stars for the food taste which I have no complaints.

Visiting this place after a long time. Surprisingly the quality went from medium to high though the cost remains the same. Seems the place is renovated. Looks so spacious, hygienic and with a very good ambience. I tried Chilly Parata here, my favorite one, it was really good and tasty. I would say, its a must try item here. My friend tried a Mini tiffin that comes along with a tea/coffee as well. As per him Mini tiffin also was quite nice.

While Singapore has no dearth of options for Tamil/South Indian cuisine, this place caters a specific so-called 'TamBram' cuisine. The rating is particularly for the meal which is served on a banana leaf which remains authentic and tastes right out a home kitchen. The place is tucked in a row of shops which can be missed easily, so expect a modest mess type seating which could mean sharing tables as well. This place is a must try for those who haven't tried the type of cuisine before and will definitely be a regular place for those who are missing memories of home.

Superb South Indian இலை போட்ட சாப்பாட்டு (Meal served on a Banana Leaf)... set in a very simple, no frills atmosphere that feels so much like the "Iyer mess" places in those deep south Indian towns like Kumbakonam or Thanjavur. In that way, it lives upto its name Love the overall experience

    Feedback: I am a regular customer with Mani Iyer Restaurant and have had the pleasure of trying out many of their food dishes, sweets and snacks; The South Indian meal is an excellent choice for lunch that comes with a wide variety of vegetable side dishes along with the main sambar, kulumbu, curd, etc; On a lucky day, you might get to taste their “Mor Kulambu” that comes with the meal; Their “Mor Kulambu” tastes exactly like what u would have in a marriage feast in South Tamil Nadu; They also make the vegetable side dishes with an interesting combination of vegetables (like potato bitter gourd curry, carrot beans poriyal) and this is such a delight for a vegetarian; The snacks and sweets are well-made and taste good; They taste exactly like home made food items with less salt, sugar and oil and this is such a blessing for a diet / health conscious person and for working people who don’t have much time to make these at home; The evening menu has a wide variety of healthy food options like Ragi Dosa, Wheat dosa, Chapathi, etc; Their Ragi dosa is a must-try; They have good home delivery service and share their menu promptly everyday on Whatapp customer group. They also follow-up promptly on delivery timings and service for home delivery orders. Special mention of their Rava Laddu with coconut and coconut chutney that taste exactly like what my grandmother used to make back home in Madurai in the 1990s. Food is indeed a memory and Mani Iyer Restaurant stands testimony to this;
