The rating says it all. One of the best bars in Singapore. Not pretentious, solid drinks and good food. They have a omakase drinks menu so they will prepare something according to your preferences, Negroni was the bomb, tried a bunch of other gin-based cocktails and they were all very good. Hakka abacus seeds was delicious, tasted authentic and homemade, sambal had a good kick. Ambience is nice and cozy, they have a reservations only policy as they have limited seats, so be sure to make a reservation.

I am very likely to come back to this reservation-only secret hideaway just for the creamy seafood pasta. This dish is decadent and rich and all for an affordable price. Pair it with the masterfully delivered cocktails and you’ve treated yourself well. I enjoyed the Japanese influenced ModSin cuisine here and the service is friendly and warm. Looking forward to my next visit!

Classic Japanese bar where they do drinks to taste. But they’re really known for their Negroni, which uses a custom vermouth blend and cuts back on the Campari to accentuate the former. Atmosphere is impeccable, drink quality is excellent (but pricey) and the bartenders are personable. An oasis of calm on a Friday night in Telok Ayer. Hard to make reservations though. Though that might be on purpose.

Awesome drinks and atmosphere! However, I would not recommend having any food/snacks here. Definitely have dinner before you come here for some special drinks.

Speakeasy bar with a very cozy ambience and surprisingly delish food- the creamy pasta is a definite must try! For those who want to watch the mixologist in action, do remember to request for bar counter seats when making reservation.

Classic cocktails made to order. Amazing food and surprising dishes. My fav is the Ankimo cocktail. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Intimate experience. We love it and will be back.

Word of advice : Always, always ask for a seat by the counter at a cocktail bar, and especially one like SGT. I neglected to do so and was placed at a sad corner away from the bar and did not enjoy myself fully. Apart from this mishap, SGT has great service and the food is acceptable here. I will ignore that their Uni 4 Eggs pasta isn’t really much of an Uni dish with just one sad piece by the side, and probably only named so to attract more attention and a higher price. But that was a great plate of pasta. We also ordered their Sweet corn with Miso Butter, Pork Belly and Kani gratin. All dishes were decent but serving portion was sad. I ordered a Negroni and really had way better at many places elsewhere so that was also disappointing. Giving it 2 stars mainly for their service and decor by the bar (which I didn’t/couldn’t enjoy). Would love to drop by another time for a proper experience but seeing how this place is slightly pricier.... maybe not ? :/

Singapore may have more than a few world class cocktail bars, with award winning bartenders, but if you prefer a classic bar experience like me, you'd love Shin Gi Tai. Few bars have the warm hospitality and old world experience that Anthony brings to the counter. They don't have a menu, but name any cocktail from the 1800s to 1900s, and Anthony will dazzle you with his Japanese- influenced flair. Recently moved from their Haji Lane spot, the new place is larger and no less cosy. A facelift not withstanding, SGT features peranakan dining to boot, and not to be outshined, the superlative oxtail buakeluak stands on its own against Anthony's stellar negroni. Advise for light eaters: might wanna hold back on the dinner set, peranakan food is dense and filling.

Come here for the old fashioned and Negroni. You won't be disappointed. For the old fashioned it's mixed with gula melaka and Negroni their own vermouth mix. Both AMAZING!

One the best bars that I have visited in a long time. A big surprise that both food and drinks are well executed! ⭐️ Food dishes so far: Wagyu steak & Mala Chicken Karaage. Both dishes are well balanced yet bursting with flavour upon every bite. ⭐️ Cocktails: Negroni is a must order here. And the spicy Bloody Mary is another simply amazing find. Will be back again for the Omakase and perhaps to bring some friends along too. It’s been a pleasure and special mention to Wong’s who have been the most hospitable and made the night spectacular. Kudos! 🥃✨

The chef has changed, so most of the food and menu is no longer available, no longer any raw courses. The drinks are good but high in price around $30 per drink. The AC is also not cold enough to be comfortable

Reservations only. Remember to call or WhatsApp the given number. I was lucky to get a walk-in on a weekday. Had a couple of dons and custom-made japanese cocktails based on our taste and preferences for the night. $30 for each drink. Bartenders and service staff were nice. Love it.

Absolutely everything was perfect from start to finish. I enjoyed the No-menu concept a lot, and the interaction with the staff to create a cocktail to my liking. Food was delicious, i recommend the dumplings and mala chicken. I will go again, soon. Price was $26-29

Got a chance to have a dinner at this bar with my wife. It's a small cozy place. The services were great from start to end. Although was not seated by the bar but was timely checked on by the staffs. Food was japanese cuisine. Every portion and taste of the dishes was balanced. Cocktails was well curated. Enjoyed the night. Hopefully will get a seat by the bar next time.

Very classic Japanese cocktail bar, with a cozy environment. Suitable for dates or small group gathering. Staffs and owner is very hospitable. Cocktails and drinks are good, especially The Negroni by Mr Anthony. Food portion was generous. Great selection of wine, beer available too. Worth the spend.

Some of the best cocktails and service we have ever had! My husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we were recommended this small hidden gem. Although the cocktails are a bit pricey, they are definitely worth it. Shoutout to Wong and the crew! You are amazing.

Lucky to walk in and get a seat on a Monday night at Shin Gi Tai. Anthony mixed up some excellent cocktails for us while explaining much of the story and history behind them. Sam made us their house signature negroni which was one to remember Definitely will be back and already made the return booking

Great drinks and food - what more can you ask for! No cocktail menu here, just tell them what you like and enjoy :) Try the beef don and abacus!

One of the coolest bars I’ve ever been to. The staff were very friendly and warm, the Omakase cocktail experience was truly one of a kind. We ordered the wagyu beef slice and it was really yummy. Definitely will recommend to come here.

Love the ambience, service and drinks. Loving the place way before we stepped into the place. The lingering scent at the staircase was already welcoming enough.
