I wish there was an option to give 0 stars. Sambar is a scam, one thing you are expected to get right is sambar and you messed it up bad. Regarding customer service -No wonder this place is empty at peak breakfast hours. Reason - Rude / pathetic customer service by the manager/owner. He yelled at us when we asked him if there's a seating inside because it was too hot out. I'm not sure if this is his usual tone of voice but looking at other reviews it's definitely not. Even before the food reached us, he very rudely told us to pick up our plates and keep them inside, is this a hawker center or a restaurant? He told this to us atleast 3-4 times, such a bad start to the day. I'm never visiting this place ever, and if the owner is reading this, please change your attitude towards customers.

Mediocre Indian food. Vegetarian food availability: 4 stars. There is vegetarian food but it’s horrendous. It is not a good place for enjoying authentic Indian cuisine. It has bland dosas with horrible tasting curries as filling. I am embarrassed to say that this is Indian cuisine. The dosas are soggy and not at all crisp. It is also a little raw. The chutneys have to much chillis and it overpowers the flavour of the coconut. This outlet just has a convenient location. Overall, I will never visit this place again.

Impolite staff & Waited for 30 min for food. When I enquired at payment counter, the young lady said " please go talk to chef" and she does not anything. They asked me to go to kitchen to talk to chef. Rude staff I would say. Not decent and not polite. Ready to take money but not provide good service. I had to go get my own food instead of being served.

The restaurant was REALLY dirty. The toilets were an absolute disaster. Dead roaches and all sorts. Completely unsanitary. Please see my pictures. No seating inside as it's barred up with catering equipment. Just a few seats outdoors. Place really isn't what it used to be. Seriously think twice about eating in if at all.

Simple food done right and at decent prices. Try the Ghee roast and the rava dose...they are good. Best was the rava ladoo. It is a must try (ate before taking pics😁). Small outdoor seating perfect for a rainy afternoon just like today.

A great no-nonsense simple vegetarian Indian eatery very close to the beautiful Hindu temple at Ceylon road. Staff is friendly, food is great, masala chai very satisfying, mango lassi perfect, good price... what more can you ask for?

I have ordered Dosa and Idli from this shop seeing it is a pure vegetarian authentic food . The food came in plastic boxes which was packed well . But the food tastes HORRIBLE. The chutney was spoiled with bubbles on top, Sambar was bland and taste very bad. Dosa was of no taste and I have never tried this horrible masala dosa from any other restaurants in Singapore . I won’t order once more from this shop.

I've been here so many times, and have never been disappointed. I cannot help but always order the Masala Dosa, because it is just perrrfect. Crispy as it should be, potatoes are creamy and tasty, and the sauces are always on point. As if this is not enough the place is super cheap and people are kind. Another recommendation to order could be the curd rice and the masala tea. Maybe the only critic I could do is that bathroom could be cleaner.

For this place you may not get all the service or fancy seating but still serves some decent food at very affordable pricing. Some of the items that are nice include Rava Idly, Plain Uttappam, Bisibele Bath and Maharaja Dosa. The Breakfast set is not bad and so is Poori set in the mornings. Don’t have too high expectations and you will be fine.

Disgusting, horrible, basic things coconut chutney n idli was so tasteless n not cooked properly, had left the food, pls goto Komal Vila’s if you want to have authentic South Indian food

Horrible taste, feels stale and not fresh. We ordered 3-4 dishes, not even a single thing was good. Please take the time and effort to go to Little India if you want to have Indian food especially South Indian food. Not worth a single penny!

The only reason I visit this place is because they are close to one of my favorite temples. That said, I am surprised by how effectively they screw up even on the most basic of south Indian dishes... Like how hard is it to make Dosa and Sambhar? Very dissatisfied.

Decent Indian vegetarian restaurant close to shenbaga vinayagar temple. Very inexpensive. They had friendly staff who treated us well. Food was good and they had a nice spread. Do try our their sambar, it was delicious. They idlies were good too. They can afford to make better chutneys though. Their fresh made sweets were good. Their snack packets are a bit overpriced.

I was a little overwhelmed as I had no idea what to order. Then, I noticed a fellow diner savoring a mouthwatering dish, and my curiosity got the better of me. I mustered the courage to ask the chef to prepare the same dish for me. The chef seemed to be in a hurry, so I didn't catch the name of the dish. The portion may have appeared small, but it was surprisingly filling. The flavors were a delightful surprise, and I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied.

Same cooks and same great thosai. Pity the beverages are within the coffee shop. But the set kopi is great and strong and generous w butter (skipped the kaya). Just could do w/o the rock music from the nearby stall.

Now it's a hawker stall unlike the comfortable restaurant earlier. Went for breakfast in the morning but the menu wasn't ready by 9 AM.

Ordered south Indian food, supposed to have 3 vegetables, only 2 veg, and the other was just lentils. Also reminded them to pack papadam also didn't pack. Because last order a week ago also no papadam.

Outlet owner / manager is super arrogant and don’t wanted to allow paying by Fave that I tried to use my prepaid card purchased and when I insisted he changed and increased the price on bill by 5% than his printed Menu. Printed a bill for me and asked me to lodge police complaint…. how childish just because I insisted to pay by Fave. Food quality is super worse and lost all the Udipi taste as this owner is now no longer an authentic Udipi person and taste has gone haywire. Service is super pathetic giving such a lesser quantity of sambar and chutney and rejecting by talking arrogantly if request for little additional quantity. Tables and overall floor was not clean enough considering earlier Ganesh Vilas that we know from last 15 odd years. MOST SURPRISINGLY the owner seems to just lock the door for his home delivery order and absconding for 30 odd minutes quiet often. It took 4-5 visits in his mentioned open hours to get in once. I was also keen because I have taken this prepaid card and needed to use. Since google does not allow 0 stars so have to give 1 star.

Used to be my favourite restaurant. Lately it has been more and more disappointing. The last straw is actually getting food poisoning today and feeling queasy the whole day. As other reviewers mentioned it's time to get stricter with hygiene and cleaning.

Above average. Located near Hindi temple. Food quality: Above average. Food portion / Price: $8.5 / $9.5 for South & North Indian meal which is pretty filling. Yet to try their dosai which other reviewers have recommended. Payment: Fave,

Good South Indian restaurant near parkway parade mall in Singapore. Food is reasonably good. The plain dosa / South Indian thali were good. The Medu Vada wouldn’t be something I would try again. Quick service and very reasonably priced.

Service staff are efficient and helpful. The food is below par. Does not have enough spices to give it a genuine taste. Disappointing. Price is however good. Economical.

Pure vegetarian restaurant located outside Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple. Great Indian vegetarian food is served here. The customer service is above average. The restaurant is small. Due to COVID restrictions, dine in is not allowed during specific time of the day whereas takeaway only applies.

Have to eat here once a week! The rava dosa and rava masala dosa's are to die for. Also order the brewed coffee which is a staple.

  • 3/5 Saravana A. 2 years ago on Google
Well, the mushroom dosai & rava masala dosai were really good. But their fried rice was terrible. It’s just so soaked in oil felt like I was drinking the cooking oil. Never order the fried rice. Always Stick to thosai.

👍 Best dim sum in Geylang area, located at sims ave. We ordered in total 6 dishes + 3 egg tarts with 2 drinks for S$36. We got a table at the bottom of the restaurant, place is a bit noisy because of the music. The century egg congee was very yummy and it was really filling, the fried yam is tasty as...

👍 The Sao Lou and Hot Fun noodles are pretty good overall. But the service is a little chaos due to the crowd. Felt like we are fighting for the waiter attention all the time. Not to mention, ordered 8 dishes and came only 6. Need to brush up on the service during peak hours.

👍👍 Hands down the best Steamed Wild-Caught Mud Crab I’ve ever had! The meat was so dense, solid and tight. Chili Crab sauce is the more savoury type and leans towards the original version. Prawns were alright but nothing as special as the Shark’s fin….the Shark’s fin soup was on point and was the Star...
