Good Indian food here. Fish head curry is a must. Quite a big portion of fish head here. Butter chicken was also good. It was getting mire crowded at dinner time. Reservation might be required at dinner time. Luckily we came slightly before dinner time. Price was expensive though. 4 adults cost me SGD 200+

Located within Little India is Muthu's Curry, a place that is well known for their Fish Head Curry amongst many other Indian Food that they have been serving since they first started in 1969. A winner of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award, a visit was made to try their speciality Upon arrival, the servers showed the direction to the table and a few moments later returned to take the orders. An order was put in and with a short wait of about 5 mins, the appetisers soon arrived but not before 2 jugs of water was brought to the table at no cost, a really decent thing to do as most other restaurants are just price gouging customers to get overpriced mineral water. The Samosas arrived with a nice chili sauce. It was fried to the optimum level and both the skin and potatoes within tasted really good. The next to come was the Garlic Naan. Loved the fluffy Naan by itself but it was ordered in anticipation for the Fish Head Curry. The award winning Fish Head Curry soon arrived and the aroma from the curry had one salivating. The fish head was of a good size and fresh, the flesh was firm and the Curry went really well with the Naan. Biting into the meat was exquisite and heavenly. The staff then came along and asked if any rice was required and Biryani Rice was ordered. The rice was fluffy and yummy, and came with lentils and vegetables. Having the rice with the vegetables and the Curry from the Fish Head Curry was the right choice and so very satisfying. Given the Chinese New Year season, and also the price gouging by all still open Chinese Restaurants over this period, Muthu's Curry is a shining beacon of integrity by not taking the opportunity to increase their prices and open heart that provides wonderful food to one and all. 22/07/23 Have higher expectations for Michelin restaurants. Fish head curry is average. The curry has full flavour of curry spices but lack of savoury. Curry chicken has similar taste too. Overall food is only slightly above average.

What an amazing institution this is. Some of the best south Indian food I have ever eaten. Intense, spicy, vibrant sauces. Definitely do not miss this restaurant while in Singapore. The legendary fish head was fantastic, but the masala prawns was the best dish on my table. The flower crab was excellent too. Damn I need to get back here and do this again.

Could not believe this is a Michelin’s recommended place. It’s been a long time since I’ve been here and sadly to say, I’ll not come back again. I ordered the curry fish head, chicken tikka and chicken biriyani. The expectation of the curry fish head was high but was the biggest disappointment. Not much taste, more towards blend with lots of unnecessary spices. Chicken tikka was not bad but the biriyani was also terrible. Rice was cold and stale. Let’s come to the service. The server, an Indian guy who took my order was kind of rude and distracted. When taking my order, he was also at the same time talking loudly to other Indian servers. I had to repeat my order thrice. He didn’t seem to be happy working there. He was very uninterested when I asked him a question about the menu and gave the “would u hurry up” face. When he came back with the glasses and water, he slammed it on the table loudly. Only when i stared at him, he retracted back. I didn’t get his name though but I could recognize him. Ironically, the friendliest server was a Chinese lady server that day. For the price you are paying, it’s definitely not worth it for the food and the service. Both are terrible. The management should do something about most of the servers there. Their attitude seems that they own the restaurant or they are not interested to receive any customers. I urge anybody or tourist or what’s to visit this restaurant to try other authentic Singapore Indian food elsewhere. You will be getting better food and service elsewhere

Among all the great food available here my favourite is the brinjal curry that we get as sides with veg meal! And their nannari sharbat and elaneer cooler are a go-to drink during a hot summer afternoon!

Located at the heart of Little India, Race Course Road, ‘Muthu’ literally means “pearl” in Tamil and ‘Curry’ represents the Indian dishes if prepared. It specialises in south Indian cuisine from the Chettinad region, known for its fresh seafood, succulent meats and aromatic spices. The fish is fresh, tender and fleshy, while the rich, spicy gravy is flavoured with aromatic spices and a hint of tamarind and mixed with pineapple chunks and juicy okra. Personally, the curry tasted more of the tunanic & blended spices. Both the aromatic lamb and chicken are cooked using the long-grained Basmati rice prepared using the dum method, which is slow oven cooking. Overall, I am glad the food is not salty, there is a balance of curry spices and customer service, and the staff served us promptly without waiting too long.

I have to express my utmost disappointment with Muthu's Curry after a recent experience, despite being well aware of its premium pricing. I placed an order through Grab, only to endure a painstaking 2.5-hour wait for the delivery. The order consisted of various items, but I regret to say that none of them met even the most basic standards of quality or taste. The biryani was utterly bland, while the fried rice was overpowered with excessive masala. To make matters worse, each and every dish was drenched in oil to the point that it felt like consuming a glass of oil rather than a savory meal. This is simply unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one with the reputation that Muthu's Curry boasts. To the chef responsible for the preparation of these dishes, I implore you to consider the following: serve this food to your own family members and ask them, honestly, if they would truly deem it fit for consumption. This experience has left me with nothing more to say, and I sincerely hope that Muthu's Curry will take this feedback to heart and rectify their shortcomings for the sake of their customers' satisfaction.

Higher priced, higher quality. The ambience is also definitely better than it used to be and just about any other Indian restaurant. Selected some less well known dishes, the black ink squid was great!

We always like to order curry fish head, it's really tasty and meaty. Besides that, we love the chicken tikka masala, bryani and cheese nan. A bit expensive side but the dishes are delicious.

Been coming here for their signature fish head curry every time I am in Singapore. Guess it is safe to say it is an iconic dish. The fish head comes with a sizeable portion of juicy neck meat, so even the small portion size is quite enough fish. Once the meat is off the head and on your plate, drench it in that glorious, fragrant curry broth. Get a decent helping of white rice to soak up as much of the broth as possible. Ordered a dry shrimp curry and butter naan as well, both nice. But that fish head, way to go!!

Had Curry Fish head, Chicken Tikka, Gobi and Mysore Mutton, with briyani rice, tandoori roti, and garlic Naan. Overall food quality is good. Mango Lassi is great and also pistachio kulfi. Price slightly on the high side.

food was very authentic and service was quick. although the pricing will definitely be slightly higher than ur usual indian street spot. this restaurant is well air conditioned and has proper plating and service so price is definitely what you get. staff also abit too eager... clearing plates before we leave the table even. the place wasn't packed so i feel like such etiquette should be rectified to enhance customer experience

We went here by seeing the restaurant from outside as the ambience was really nice. But food, what a disappointment! Every dish we ordered was so cold even the parottas were cold and stale, they didnt even take efforts to reheat if food was prepared long back. Food taste was average nothing special for the price they charged. Its on the pricier side and really not worth at all. There are so many better options around the same area, would definitely not recommend this one.

Food was excellent Ordered the fish head curry and masala and lamb meat. Rice comes with vegetables. We ordered medium size for fish head curry and it was too much for 3 of us. Very busy, so staff was running around and we had to catch them. Ambience okay. There is beer available so it is a bit rowdy.

Visited this place for the second time, first time to explore non-veg options and second time for South Indian seafood. We ordered fried fish and prawn chukka varuval along with free flow of normal and biryani rice with vegetables. Fish was not that great. Prawn tasted fresh and good. Panner Lime Juice was highlight of the day, rose and mint infused drink felt comforting. Bit on expensive side but worth a try!

2nd time to this outlet. 5 stars the first time, and obviously 5 stars again this time. Ordered the fish curry, butter chicken and aloo gobi. The white rice comes with 2 vege (rice is refillable). I had the plain naan. Everything’s delicious here. Service was top notch as well. Whenever I crave for Indian cuisine, this will be the place on my mind.

The food was good, but I gave them 2 stars because they didn't wash my juice mug properly.

I had a very good experience in eating at Muthu’s curry restaurant at Race Course Road. Food was awesome and was very delicious. White rice with vegetable curries, Pepper chicken and Mutton curry, Naan are some of the dishes we ordered. Coming from Canada, prices were on the higher side but this is a different country. The food was very very good. I suggest everybody can enjoy the food in authentic banana leaf. If there is one area of improvement would be on the customer service. When a customer places a order, try to get it back to them quickly. The staff were bringing food items not ordered by us told us that they’ve brought the order. We told them that we did not order that dish. It would have been nice to tell the customer the reason for delay and that you're bringing them as soon as they're ready, so the diners are aware their needs are still a priority. Good customer service includes attending to customers frequently which we did not experience. Great place to eat. The food is tasty and the variety is refreshing.

I came here for the fish head curry since it is my favourite dish. It’s so fresh, you can taste the ocean. The rice is abundant and the butter chicken was very light.

Dining experience wasn’t really the same pre and post Covid. The drinks were good except for the masala tea. The food seemed like dished out from a heated buffet spread that you can see within the restaurant. Only the naan bread seemed to be freshly made. More and more now like a fast food restaurant.

Eat there many times, tonight visited the place again, ordered signature curry fish head and free flow of biryani rice and vegetables. The food as good as always. One young indian waitress made my day, she is friendly and professional, keeps smile and warmly taking care of us while we having our dinner, she definitely deserves a pay rise or promotion.

I had fish head curry at Muthu's Curry for lunch. A large fish head contains almost half a dome-type fish. We ordered naan and the four of us ate a lot.

I had gone to Murthy’s Curry along with my family to celebrate my dad’s birthday in the afternoon. The decor of the restaurant, the ambience as well as the quality of the food itself were all on point. I really had a lot of fun! It is a great venue for celebrating special occasions.
