One of my worst experience. This is my second time visiting this restaurant after many years. The service was poor. We visited at around 1040 am. We tried to order Mee goreng and prata. But they said sold out. Morning and already sold out. Can you believe it? They restaurant was not even full. They told us only left with murtabak and briyani. I went down to take a look and saw so many prata dough. But they only allowed murtabak. This is really Not right way of doing business. When we tried to order, the waiter even said can you faster a bit. Food was really average. Look at the beef briyani. Come covered with rice. Not appealing at all. I needed. To dig out the small piece of meat. And not tasty at all. To be fair, the chicken murtabak is still not bad. Look at the pic with lots of prata dough. The person were flipping the dough, just to sell murtabak only. What a way to earn money. This will be my last time there with my groups.

The restaurant is used to dealing with tourist (like me) or locals. Lots of takeouts by the locals and so the food service is extremely fast. They have many tables including upstairs with air conditioning. I was there early in the morning so get the front row outside seating, enjoying coffee with the pigeon, some traffic and close up view of Sultan Mosque. The Arab Street and Haji Lane are just across the street. Can't beat the location! The roti is made with right crispiness and not too oily. The curry dipping sauce is flavorful. Haven't had such good roti for a while. The Mee goreng tasted good too. This will be the spot for me to get my roti fix when visiting Singapore.

Swing by in the morning on a weekday, the place’s clean. The staffs were friendly & helpful. We ate beef murtabak that tasted delicious, a good dish to start the day if you’re into indian food, the dough’s just on point & yet the dipping curry elevates it even more. We ordered the small portion of the dish & it’s still sharable for 2 person, costs us 4 SGD.

Service is bad, we were told to go upstairs and get a seat rudely by an elderly man. Person taking the order does not seems interested. And boy, the food is decent at best. Taste like any other muslim stalls. They have nice coffee though

The Lamb Murtabak was really special and yummy ! I got the small size which was enough for 2 people! It was my first time to try it! As for the chicken briyani there was nothing special about it, but not bad! Staff was really helpful, and fast! Lime juice was also really refreshing !

If your in the town area of Singapore and craving good authentic food..Good Indian food... Has good variety.. Halal meat available.. So is chicken, Mutton, beef and Deer. The deer biryani is available !! A bit expensive though. The upper setting area is air-conditioned and pretty spacious.. Upper area not wheel chair accessible... Good tea..Teh available..

Murtabak was delicious! The beef was not hard and mixed with the crust well. The fried rice was also good. I will definitely go back and try it!

We had our Nasi Briyani and Beef murtabak here. The best murtabak in the world belongs here. It if full with beef, the curry is the best and we just fall in love for the food their offers in this restaurant.

Food is ok, nothing wow about it like last time. Even though I ate here before, I strongly believe the quality of the food has dropped quite a bit. The price for the food is still affordable considering the location. The murtabak tastes not that bad but average for me and oily too. The ice teh had too much milk on it so it was more of a milk tea than an ice teh. Overall for the murtabak, I would rate 6.5/10. For the drinks would be 5.5/10. Service will be 7/10.

This is the best place for eat so far. I love the fact that they allow us to share a meal portion. Because singaporean portion is to much for me. I should share it .so i can finish the meal. So there are no left over food or mubazir. I love the fact that they keep our luggage while we eat. I love the fact that masjid sultan is right accross the street. I love outdor seats on 1st floor.and also indoor with AC room on 2nd floor. Whoever the owner. Thank you . For open this awesome affordable great taste restaurant on tourist spot 😍😍😍

Had Chicken Briyani, Mysore Mutton, and washed it down with ginger tea. Does not disappoint! Iconic Indian Muslim restaurant located at North Bridge Road which has been in operation since 1908!

This is one of the most popular spots in Singapore to get murtabak, for good reason. I have been eating here for more than 10 years - and the murtabak here has never once failed! No matter what filling you get (mutton, chicken, sardine, beef etc.) it is always consistently crispy on the edges, fluffy in the middle, and stuffed full to the brim. And the fish curry that is served with the murtabak - fragrant and packs a punch. No watered down or bland curries here. It is usually busy anytime here, but food is served fast and staff are friendly and efficient. When you eat here, you’re also here for the restaurant’s history - Zam Zam has been around since 1908 in the same shophouse, a feat for a country this young, in a culture where buildings are being demolished and rebuilt at lightning speed. P.S. if you prefer a more tender protein, go for the chicken. If you prefer a leaner meat, go for the mutton.

This place is big. Second floor is fully air conditioned. I ordered mutton briyani, chicken chop, and chicken murtabak. They were good except it took some time to come to the table. There were little spiciness in all of them which made a child harder to eat.. Good place for a adults. This place is also close to the mosque and haji lane.

This is not just a makan place, it is an icon of Singapore! Established in 1908....they maintain their flavours for their dishes impeccably. We tried the nasi goreng ikan bilis, turned out to be delish! Also had their murtabak ayam, Briyani Kambing. All really good as ever!

Great food to enjoy with your belived ones! I love the deer murtabak, iced halia tea, iced bandung and maggie goreng mutton. Unfortunately nasi goreng mutton still smells mutton :(

Finally a murtabak that impresses. After being disappointed with the murtabak offered elsewhere, I had almost written off this dish as a fanciful affair. This dish found redemption at Zam Zam. In the company of Indian food restaurants in Singapore, Zam Zam stands out for its flavorful food and lovely atmosphere. Menu items strike me as an excellent value and travelers should not leave this dining experience hungry. Bring lots of hand wipes and mind your white clothing!

Excellent Indian Muslim food. Prices are reasonable. They renovated the upper level. Staff are fast and alert. Highly recommend the murtabak. Aside from the owner going to prison, the food here deserves 5*.

Wonderful place to indulge in Indian food. Right balance of chilli and spice. The unusual fish would be their deer dishes including deer murtabak and deer biryani. The pick for me though was the Fish Head Curry. The fish was really fresh and offered a nice taste together with the chilli and spice of the fish curry. Indulgence to the point of overeating... Great culinary temptation.

This place always brings back memory of late dad & mom who would always visit after prayers at Sultan Mosque since I could remember. My personal favourite is Murtabak Ayam with crispy outer layer of dough and succulent curry induced shreddes chicken and now the Beef Briyani is a must too, the beef is tender and so much favour with a good hint of pepper but last we had the mee goreng, it was a real let down, too sweet. Maybe due to shortage of cooks in the kitchen.

Long standing Roti, curry and more restaurant. Get the taste for authenticity in S’pore. Didn’t expect for the service so no disappointment gotten. Very tasty with Fish Briyani and also Sardines Murtabak too. Each dish came with a portion of curry to go with and they both compliment each other. Deer meat curry came in large portion but not tender enough. Nice milk tea and coffee. Air conditioning room on upstairs. Enjoy~.

I always heard about the greatness of this restaurant since i was a child. I cant recall if i ever came here before but i put this place in my “to go list” during my recent visit to singapore. Its a 2 floors restaurant. 1st floor has aircond. Staff are very friendly & service quite fast. We ate briyani ayam. Come with a bowl of kuah kari?/briyani?. 1 portion was enough for 2 of us (normal size adult). However no salad included in the set. We also ordered the famous singapore murtabak. Price of the murtabah depends on the size. We had the $10 size.. taste was great but quite too big for our tummy that night. We also “tapau” this murtabak to bring it back home to kuala lumpur to give to family.. they packed it very well & neat. Surely will repeat this restaurant on my next visit to singapore

We had these for our lunch today: - beef beriyani - fried chicken - beef mysore - teh tarik It is my cheatmeal - had a bit of biryani; the teh tarik was good. Tried something new today (beef mysore). The spices is different, not bad; the serving is just right. Their fried chicken is another winner. Didn’t order the murtabak because we want to enjoy what we have ordered.

The food here is excellent. During busy hours, it can be very chaotic. I recommend going there on weekdays out of the busy dining time. They have a variety of Briyani, and the portion is enormous. So we always order small size. I love their Fish curry. The taste is excellent.

After coming here 2-3 years ago, I was in the area and craving some biryani. I must say not to much has changed besides some wallpaper and change of staff. I was told to go upstairs as it was very busy, but no further guidance was given. I had to ask them to point to a table for 1 and was seated a large table in the far back corner. The table was eventually divided as some other hungry eaters came along. I decide on some Chicken Biryani, willing to try it here. After a little wait, I was given a plate with a spoon and fork but no knife or napkin / Serviette. The guests next to me were given plenty of napkins so later on I had to ask for a few. Not too much later I get served my Chicken Biryani and soon after cams my papa dams. The rice tasted well cooked and so was the chicken. I felt encouraged to eat the chicken with my fingers as I saw others doing so. Overall I would say the food is good and well cooked but I came at a somewhat busy time. My total was $9.00 exact, $1.50 for a canned drink, $6.50 for the Biryani and an extra $1 for the papadams. Hope this review was helpful, I hope to back in future ?.

Old tradioinal style of running the restaurant.Food likely the same but many ordered their signature chicken Briyani and indulging their hand into it But I had Kwey Tow Goreng instead and complimenting with hot tea, again the tea could have been more kaw! Instead but was rather diluted.

Food taste good. However would not recommend it if you are health concious or wanting to avoid oily food. The place however needs to do more hygiene control or proper cleaning. Table feels sticky. A lot of hustling to get business from you as it is next door to long time rival, so be firm or insist if you need to.

Best place for cheap Indian meals, no price shock, no bad service, food delicious much better than most Northern Indian restaurant! Johoreans also favour this place! Airconed n comfortable but a avoid weekend! But avoid their Lambing soup, bland, watery & not enough meat inside! It seems this soup was catered outside, & when sold out, added water?

One of the most fulfilling mutton briyana I had. The rice is especial fluffy and fragrant. Watch out for the gravy, it can be quite hot/spicy if you add in too much like me. My bad. Wish there was an egg. But it might be a side dish. For next time.

Consider Zam Zam as my go to restaurant for Murtabak. Their Murtabak are top tier, consistent and affordable. I always eat at Zam Zam whenever I'm in the vicinity as I can't get enough of their flavor. Whenever me and my friends have some time for some casual hang outs, our usual choice is always Zam Zam for our Murtabak fix and then to Bhai to get our Teh fix. Have tried their Maggie Goreng as well, very delicious and full of that mamak flavor. Would definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a place to chill and have good Murtabak sharing experience to pay a visit to Zam Zam.

One of the best experience! A must visit if you are in Singapore.... Better to have food in food court inside universal studios.. coz the restaurants there are very expensive.. comparatively the food in food court is cheaper! Must must go to transformers ride! Don't miss this one... You will have to wait in queue for an hour or so but trust me it's total worth the wait!

The chicken murtabak was yummy and stuffed generously with shredded chicken. We washed it down with a well made ice teh tarik. Sadly, the mutton pot biryani and the beef chop were not particularly good. The sauce of the beef chop was bright red and looked extremely artificial. Whilst efficient and quick (the food arrived within 10min), the service was not very friendly.

Get a place on the first floor, it's air conditioned. Soft, pillowy rice and tender beef cooked till perfection. It's a must eat if you come to Singapore. Don't forget the murtabak. It's the best in town as well. A family favorite 🩷

Was told to go up to 2nd floor for a table by the staff on the ground floor. We have 5 pax and upon seated, we waited for very long for our food order to be taken, despite we asked for our order to be taken at least twice. We also realised that two other table customers that came earlier than us already had their order taken. I think the ordering process and the server attitude need to be improve. The serving speed is also very slow, our biryani rice is served 20 minutes later after murtabak was served, and instead of serving our ordered pot biryani they serve us the normal biryani. With the poor service and attitude, I rather spend the money elsewhere.

Went there after seeing some reviews online. The place was packed which was a good sign that it'll be good. Had some Martabak and some curries which were really good. The food brought to the other tables seems to be good as well. Worth a visit. Lot of people were getting take away as well as food was being delivered to cars at the traffic light. Not a fine dining place.

Very much worth a dine in at this traditional restaurant. The place is simple and basic but the food is amazing authentic local Indian Muslim fare ranging from a selection of bryani to murtabaks of different fillings, and more. We sat downstairs enjoying the aroma wafting from the kitchen. Service was respectful, efficient and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. We thoroughly enjoyed the murtabak we ordered which was filled generously with delicious mutton mince in a slightly flavoured dough crisped at the edges and served with a dhal dip and cucumber slices topped with tomato sauce. We also had the byrani rice which was fragrant and delicious to eat on its own. The chicken thigh that came with the bryani was well seasoned but we found it a tad dry as chicken sometimes get when deep fried. Would definitely return to the restaurant to try their bryani with the other different meats offered on the menu. If you like your tea strong, you may need to specify that when ordering.

Food portions are really generous here and the taste is was acceptable. Wanted to try their deer bryani, but staff said it was out of stock. Also, the place is perpetually busy, so getting a staff's attention is quite hard.

eating by the roadside and next to mosque is an convinient place to eat for muslim tourist. the teh tarik was good and decent size toti canai. this place gives a nostalgic feeling as well because it has been here for many years. great place to bring families to experience local breakfast.

Enjoyed Beef Biryani... 3 visits just having this. With teh Tarik. But on my third visit with friends, we tried the beef mutarbak... all were belly filling. The price was fair. Will come back again for sure

I Recommend to have freshly Made small chicken murtabak . Better to dine in to fully experience the crispiness of the dough and spicy kick of the chicken marinate . This is what I eat every time at zam zam.

Beef murtarbak is good, a good portion at $10. Only thing perhaps I will ask for differently will be no tomato sauce on the cucumber. Chicken Biryani was also good, for $8 quite value for money. The not so anticipated was the Teh Halia was not that strong, less of the ginger favour. The place was very busy, meaning good place for good food. 2nd floor is air conditioning, but quite packed and noisy. Do note payment is by cash, nets or bank Paynow/paylah. Credit cards have to pay extra.

Deer Biryani and Mutton Murtabak are great dishes. Those who doesn't like the mutton smell could try Beef Murtabak. Both are cooked with minced meat. Chicken Murtabak is a bit different as it's a bit wet version with chicken curry. Murtabak has different size, varied from S$ 7, 10, 12, until S$ 21. I ordered S$ 12, which is quite big and can share among 3 to 4 pax. Mutton Soup is also nice. Maggi Goreng came out red color, which is a bit odd for those who are not used to it. If you want normal version of fried noodle, you need to order "maggi goreng putih" or " maggi goreng without red sause". In overall, all dishes at Zam Zam Restaurant are very tasty.
