Over
in
the
Jalan
Sultan
area
and
just
a
short
distance
from
the
Sultan
Mosque
is
the
well-known
Nasi
Padang
Restaurant,
Hjh
Maimunah
Restaurant
and
Catering.
This
restaurant
is
also
a
multi
year
winner
of
the
Michelin
Bib
Gourmand
Singapore
Award.
Having
heard
great
things
from
a
friend
about
this
restaurant,
a
decision
was
made
to
visit
on
a
Saturday
morning
to
sample
the
food
offerings.
On
arrival,
one
should
first
find
a
seat
at
the
ground
floor
or
second
floor.
After
that
one
joins
the
queue
and
it
took
a
while
before
one
finally
entered
the
restaurant
to
order
one's
dishes.
Both
Dine
In
and
Takeaway
uses
the
same
queue,
so
please
don't
think
of
jumping
ahead
if
getting
takeaway
only.
The
food
are
all
displayed
on
shelves
behind
a
hygiene
partition.
The
prices
for
the
food
options
are
on
the
display
panel
on
the
wall
behind
the
food
shelves.
One
first
informs
the
staff
if
they
are
dining
in
(eating
here)
or
taking
away
(Dabao/Bungkus/Packet).
Then
one
points
to
the
items
one
wants
and
the
staff
will
place
the
food
onto
the
plate
or
into
the
takeaway
box.
The
staff
will
then
hand
over
one's
order
where
one
then
proceeded
to
make
payment.
If
one
is
in
need
of
assistance,
a
staff
will
help
to
carry
the
food
to
one's
table.
Found
the
food
mostly
acceptable,
not
fantastic
but
not
bad
either.
The
rice
was
a
little
too
dry
and
didn't
absorb
the
sauces
or
gravy
from
the
food
well
as
most
of
the
food
had
little
to
no
gravy.
The
best
food
option
is
the
Tahu
Telor
with
its
nicely
Fried
egg
with
Tofu
and
the
sauce
was
really
yummy
with
a
good
mix
of
savoury
and
sweet.
This
paired
really
well
with
the
rice
as
the
rice
helped
to
balance
out
the
sauce
flavour.
Ordered
some
desserts
but
the
Rainbow
Kueh
Lapis
had
layers
that
crumbled
instead
of
being
stretchy
and
not
easily
peeled,
while
the
Pandan
Kueh
Salat
had
a
really
yummy
pandan
custard
but
the
glutinous
rice
still
had
some
uncooked
grains
within.
The
meal
was
overall
acceptable
and
it
is
great
to
see
a
Nasi
Padang
stall
get
on
the
Michelin
Bib
Gourmand
Singapore
Award.
However,
it
is
good
for
a
visit
to
try
but
unlikely
for
a
return
visit
General
Verdict:
A
good
Nasi
Padang
restaurant
with
yummy
ingredients
that
is
a
little
pricier
than
most
but
avoid
the
dessert
items

Is
this
worth
a
try?
Probably
Is
it
worth
making
a
trip
just
to
try
it?
Only
if
you
are

Is
this
worthy
