Went there for dinner and their food was good and tasty. it's a good place for dinner if you are craving for crab. Their crab was superb fresh, delicious and juicy. Why I said that is because the crab meat is tender and it is not sticking to the shell. It is a recommendable place for crab lovers.

It took me a bit long time to queue up to be seated, but overall it deserved to be waiting. Food was beyond expectation, very tasty. I ordered 2 crabs at normal size & it cost me a total amount of a little over S$200. The bill was ensured to be discounted by 5% if it was paid by cash.

The experience was quite special as you can pick your own crab. However, the real downside was the freshness of the crab. I do believe time to time seafood quality varies. Overall experience was quite pleasant.

My last visit was 7 years ago, and I thought some of the crab dishes were not done the same anymore? Had Butter and Pepper Crab. Butter crab was ok, and Pepper crab was a surprise - wet pepper style, not the traditional type. The heat had a delayed effect and kicked in later. My friends didn't like the wet pepper style but I quite like it. What I am not happy about is the lack of transparency - I have no idea what was the weight of the medium size crab I chose, even on the receipt, the weight was not indicated 😒

Food was fresh & tasty but deserved only 3 stars due to being overpriced And they don't even indicate the weight & price per kg of the crab we ordered, just a lump sum amount in the bill Even extra soup for bee hoon cost money. Instead of providing lime water to wash hand, they provide 1 pc of wet tissue which is chargeable Total damage $371

We came at 530pm with reservation hence, there was no queue. Ordered ala carte. The claypot crab vermicelli was the star of the dinner and exceeded my expectations with its rich and flavorful broth, filled with tender crab meat and a perfect blend of herbs and spices. A must-try for seafood enthusiasts.

Came here multiple times for their seafood especially their crabs! Very fresh and succulent - very consistent as well. Their tze char dishes is also well above average. Tried most of their dishes and I can say it's worth every penny. Pay using cash and you can also get 5% discount! Remember to book prior coming here as it tends to get rather crowded especially during dinner on the weekends.

Pretty much agree with the general consensus of reviews here. It's a place that is far away from town, and thereby an authentic experience. Chili crab is really good, but the price of a medium crab dish will set you back $125 ish. I was not too impressed by the cereal prawn or vegetables. I would come back here only if I was showing tourists around or really felt like having their chili crab again! PS: Pay in cash for direct 5% discount.

We had the butter crab and black pepper but felt that it lacked the oomph flavour. The pork ribs was much to be desired with all bones and tough meat. We also ordered 青龍菜 and the frying was not even and some parts are too salty while other parts are bland. All in all, an average meal which is prob overpriced for the standard.

Awesome chilli crab! Your goto neighbourhood fix for seafood. Cheaper than in town😅 Brought my visiting Japanese coworkers and local colleagues to have their first taste of 🇸🇬 Singapore’s chilli crab and bee Hoon crab soup. Great with beer too! Remember to check out the MONSTER Sri Lankan crabs to fit your party size! What a great way to also kick start the year of the dragon with Singapore’s Lou Hei! Huat ah! Opens 5pm. No crowd on a Thursday. Advisable to make a reservation in order not to wait too long. Smash the like button and follow below 👇 if you like this writeup.

Probably one of the better crab specialists in Singapore. Sri Lanka crab can weigh 2kg a piece. Signature dish is the condence milk soup with whole crab. Enjoyed the white pepper crab and braised pork ribs with salted egg marinade as well. The location is a bit off for tourists but worth the journey. Can get busy so recommend to come early.

Had been here for the third time but the dining experience has been going downhill. First, it was the waitresses who were supposed to serve you but instead I was told to order everything including other dishes in one go and I should go back to them in person whenever I needed to order extra dishes. They made excuses saying they couldn't attend to our table when they get busier so I should just go to them and order instead! Bad, really bad service! The waitresses would push you to take male crabs instead of female crabs even if we were order more than 3 crabs from them. Such bad attitude cannot be tolerated (owner to note)! If you are ordering crabs, I suggest going for their popular dishes, such as white pepper, black pepper, or chilli crabs and DON'T go for other less popular ones like what I ordered (chilli pepper) cos it's simply not what you'd expected. Also, DON'T order their fried chicken wings as the batter was thick and chicken wings were bland and not juicy at all. The rest are ok and their crabs are fresh. I suggest the owner should reflect on it as the waitresses are employed to serve customers, not vice versa and please improve on your recipe for the crab dishes if not, Uncle Roger and Uncle Gordon will go haiyaa on your dish!

The crab is extremely fresh, you can totally dig big chunks of meat out of the shells. They even allow you to pick male/female, which I never seem. The place reminds me of those local places at housing estates in Hong Kong, which are mostly gone now.

Have not gotten such huge crabs in awhile. Still the best crab beehoon around after eating for so many years. Female crabs best option for the soup beehoon with flavourful crab roes beautifully macerated in the soup. The rest we had male crabs with the other options of cooking due to its humongous claws. Extremely fresh and delightful. Buns were deep fried to perfection too.

Melben Seafood delivers an exceptional dining experience! Impeccably fresh sri lankan crab prepared to perfection. The chili and butter crab are a must-try, bursting with bold flavors. Attentive staff, vibrant atmosphere, and reasonable prices make it a great choice for crab lovers

My colleagues took me here for chilli crab and it was amazing. I don’t know if it’s just because they know how to order well, or if it’s just that everything is good, but we had a great time and a LOT of food. Definitely the highlight was the chilli crab which wasn’t too spicy and served with a lot of delicious gravy, soaked up with the fried buns. We also had the black pepper crab, snow pea shoots, the playboy chicken and bullfrog. Really enjoyed and would recommend.

Very good food, big crabs, good sauce, 187SGD for 3 pers (2 adults + 1 child), near MRT Mayflower just 3 min walk, large and open space restaurant with fresh air. Was there on Xmas night, quite crowded Highly recommended, will come back for sure.

My favourite seafood (crab) place in Singapore. Creamy crab fantastic as usual. Srimps were very good. Prices went up in the last years

Must try Claypot Crab Bee Hoon Soup! Humongous crab with noodles and very nice broth and therefore very satisfying and worth the visit and the taxi rides. Salted Egg Ribs were also very nice. Butter shrimps sauce was a bit too sweet for my liking. Bamboo Clams were surprisingly spicy and therefore so-so.

My second time at Mellben.. this time went to AMK branch during weekday night for a colleague farewell. The white beehoon crab as usual is great and yummy.. the salted pork rib is yummy as well. The chillicrab i think is okay, the mantou kinda dry and didnt enjoy as much as the white beehoon. Overall is recommended to bring tourist or on special company occassion.

I had opted takeaway. I was a bit put off by the service. Let me explain. I had asked for one chili crab and one black pepper. Mind you, I am allergic so only my children eat. When the lady explained, each crab would cost me a range of 114 (male crab and more for female crab). So I asked if there was a small sized one, and she said no, only medium. I told her I would stick to one crab as it was expensive for me, and then it was only 2 people eating it. As I was discussing with my children on which they would prefer, she comes and tell me she will give me one small and one medium. I was shocked. Does that mean she faked earlier when she said no small crabs only medium? Is this their sales strategy? I was appalled by the unethical behavior. The food was good, but I was put off by the experience. So, no more for me.

Singaporeans come here to eat chili crab. It's not like going to a crab restaurant that you are familiar with in tourist areas. When ordering crab, you choose the crab you will actually eat with the sauce separately. Not only is the quantity really large. The price is also cheap. The cereal shrimp, chili crab, and crab bee boon soup are all amazingly delicious. The only downside is that it's far from the city, so it's difficult to get round-trip. But the taste is rewarded for everything.

One of the best chilli crab around Hawker centre area. The crab was relatively big on sauce were very generous. I also ordered the creamy chicken and rice (forgot the name) which was also very good. This is one of the best stall in a hawker, but again for a first-timer that doesn't know how expensive a seafood is, this is not very cheap, so make sure you bring some cash.

As a foodie and obviously years of experience in eating, this place probably got one of the best crab in SG. Very fresh crab and big chunk of meat that doesn’t stick to the shell. Crab claypot mee hoon has very tasty broth. Also ordered the bamboo clam which is quite spicy but “SHIOK”. As an asian, it’s goood! Garlicky + chilli, what’s better? 2nd time here. Tried others “melben”s with different spellings but this is the best. This time celebrated anniversary with wife. Very spacious seatings as it has the whole coffee shop space. Damage was about $200+ and had 5% off if you pay by cash! Value for money.

If you are a foodie in Singapore, you MUST experience this crab shack. It's so authentic, genuine and delicious. The kind of place that has mastered its craft.

Went to their newest outlet at Botanic Gardens. The fish soup bee hoon hardly has any fish slices but the Kailan and Tofu are both tasty. Hope to see improvement.

Consistency is the key. Never fail to get the taste on point. Not exactly the cheapest but among the top places in sg for crabs. Tried almost all flavour of crab. Crab beehoon aside the salted egg and chilli was great.

Had National Day dinner wif my family here, AMK branch. Food is good. We prefer the butter crab flavor, black pepper flavor was a bit too salty. Overall ok except tat the crab meat wasn’t as sweet (juz bland) as we expected it to be. Thankfully the gravy help to add flavor. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Hint: best to make reservation b4 gg down to avoid long waiting walk-in queue. Place is not air-conditioned but well ventilated and clean.

A decent seafood restaurant. We had a black pepper crab which was lovely. The other dishes were ok but nothing special. The outdoor seating can be a bit hot. Do expect to wait in line if you don't have a reservation. There's also a corkage fee if you bring your own alcohol. Servers prefer to speak to you in Chinese.

Famous eatery for crabs in AMK and has been around for decades. Ordered a medium crab and had it cooked in their signature claypot bee hoon style. The broth is still flavourful and tasty. Crab meat was firmed and fresh.
