Ginger
seems
to
bank
on
being
one
of
few
halal
hotel
buffet
restaurants
to
survive
-
it
is
a
cosy
place
with
bright
colours,
but
the
food
lets
it
down
tremendously.
Went
to
try
a
promising
tie
up
between
a
Michelin
starred
chef
from
Thailand
and
Ginger.
Very
underwhelming
and
overpriced
for
the
quality
-
Parkroyal
buffets
have
disappointed
me
several
times
-
they
used
to
be
good
but
now
just
meh.
Buffet
is
priced
at
SGD
88++
but
I
would
not
have
paid
more
than
SGD
50-60++
before
discounts.
Prawns
with
vermicelli
-
the
prawns
were
tasteless
Lobster
with
tom
yum
sauce
-
inconsistent,
first
round
didn’t
look
torched
and
I
wouldn’t
have
eaten
even
if
given
to
me
for
free,
another
round
was
torched
and
much
better.
Durian
pengat
came
in
shot
glasses
with
nut
toppings
-
but
it
was
DEFINITELY
SPOILT
with
a
sour
taste,
we
tried
two
different
shot
glasses
between
us.
Thai
milk
ice
cream
-
soft
serve
machine
didn’t
seem
to
be
working
despite
the
efforts
of
a
kitchen
staff
dispensing
liquid
mix
from
the
machine
and
pouring
it
back
in
several
times.
No
signs
at
the
machine
to
indicate
it
wasn’t
working
properly.
Didn’t
work
at
all
by
the
time
I
left
at
720pm
(buffet
started
at
6pm).
Crab
omelette
-
there
are
way
better
ones
from
most
Thai
restaurants
in
Singapore
-
nothing
nice
about
it.
Lamb
shank
massaman
curry
-
seemed
to
be
tail
instead
of
shank
and
it
was
tough.
Tom
yum
soup
with
seafood
-
I
have
cooked
much
better
versions,
it
was
just
overwhelmingly
spicy
with
no
other
notes.
Mango
salad
with
crispy
fluffy
catfish
-
mango
salad
on
its
own
was
ok
but
the
catfish
was
definitely
not
fluffy
but
small
hard
crisp
bits.
Scallop
on
shell
-
it’s
the
kind
you
get
at
cheap
hotpot
places
with
an
extremely
thin
piece
of
“scallop”,
looks
like
they
cut
the
rest
of
it
off
to
sell
the
scallop
meat.
Missing
items
included
-
soba,
tamago,
otak,
lamb
chops,
wild
mushroom
soup,
barramundi,
braised
beef
cheek,
prawns
aglio
olio,
more
than
half
the
kueh
on
the
menu,
more
than
half
of
the
fruits
on
the
menu.
To
their
credit
they
did
have
alternatives
or
added
a
couple
additional
items,
except
for
the
fruits
and
kueh
where
they
had
far
fewer
items
than
the
menu
listed.
The
menu
was
also
poorly
vetted,
there
were
lines
of
items
with
the
thai
name
and
the
next
line
is
the
english
name
-
it
looks
like
there
are
two
different
items
when
it
is
not.
It
does
make
one
wonder
if
it
was
intentional
misrepresentation
to
beef
up
the
menu
or
just
poor
proofing.
Decent
items
included
-
thai
style
steamed
fish,
pandan
chicken,
thai
fish
cake,
a
couple
of
the
nyonya
kueh,
muah
chee,
satay
(mis-sold
as
lamb
when
it
was
mutton)
-
but
nothing
that
would
make
you
think
it
was
anything
close
to
Michelin.
Also
had
issues
with
booking,
they
didn’t
call
me
at
all
to
confirm
my
booking
yet
they
sent
me
an
automated
sms
with
a
link
to
a
page
which
indicated
they
called
me
and
I
didn’t
answer
hence
they
placed
me
under
a
waiting
list.
What
a
ridiculous
policy
-
even
if
they
had
really
called
me
once,
they
should
assume
my
reservation
is
still
confirmed.
Restaurant
seems
poorly
managed
and
without
the
customer
experience
in
mind.
