A hidden gem with a very nice ambience. A bottle of house wine is really cheap and even cheaper if you go for 2 bottles aka twins. Food wasn’t bad but don’t have too high expectations. Nonetheless, the overall experience was great. A very good place to hang out and chill with friends. It closes quite early at 930pm on a Saturday though..

I thought the food was ok. Unagi tastes obviously frozen and was not grilled enough so it was a little mushy. The rest of the food was average too. Coffee was good. But I understand that this place is more for drinking.

Nice ambience! Food is slightly pricier. Got Beef Sammies and Gyu Don. Both taste average, just that portion is slightly small. The aesthetics part can be further improved. Fried mushroom (?) On the gyu don was a good choice. Fries and truffle fries are oily but taste great, albeit a bit dry without any sauce Can't seem to find much Japanese dishes here though :/ Service staff were kind enough to let us in when they opened at 530pm, even though we didn't had any reservations. Sat near the entrance which seems to be always open. The aircon seems to be going out and I even got bitten by a mosquito quite a few times, though I managed to kill it eventually 😢 Perhaps closing the sliding door more frequently or installing something to deter insects would be ideal

It may be a little difficult to find the place but its right beside hotel 81. Very nice place to chill with decent food. Ordered this coffee ball which i think has limited quantity a day. Its quite interesting, though not cold enough to be liking since the milk is quite warm. Overall the food is not too bad. May be slightly on the pricer end but not a bad choice if you want a place to chill and relax.

They’ve rebranded to Refinery & Co., though we had tried the food once when it was still the old menu. The new set of dishes now seem a bit more polished, with a ‘Japanese-Izakaya’ theme. We enjoyed the chirashi don and the salmon aburi don, both fresh and substantial enough, priced reasonably. We also ordered a side of fried cauliflower with wasabi Mayo dipping sauce, which was quite yummy. They were running weekday lunch specials, which we didn’t realise. We came for dinner on a weekday and it wasn’t too packed. I reckon this is a good spot for those who enjoy a drink or two with their meal. Service was decent but forgettable. Our wait staff was momentarily confused when I asked if there was a particular credit card discount, and then he just left to change the tab. Oh well.

I met my friend here for dinner and it's such a lovely place to have drinks and chill. Their dinner items are nothing special and I'd definitely not travel down if not for their gorgeous space - high ceilings, warm hanging lights and the slightly out of the way location make for a great place to kick back. Drinks are well priced and truffle fries are good!

Lovely high ceilings, popular place for business lunches, staff were really proactive and polite. I had the teriyaki mushroom pasta which I really enjoyed. We also had the cauliflower fritters (too much batter, but wasabi mayo was really good), and plant based nuggets (didn’t get to try). Will visit again. Thanks!

Spacious high ceilings and good airy ambience. Was able to be seated for a group of 5 without reservations around 1pm on a Sunday afternoon. Tried some of the dishes. Dishes are nice but not mind-blowing.

A spacious and homely cafe with very friendly and attentive staff. We ordered the Mixed Chiarashi Bowl and the Refinery Gyudon, both mains were great, but the Gyudon was exceptional, totally worth making the trip down just for this dish alone. We ended the meal with the Brownies & Croffle, it was a good way to end the meal, but it was kind of too sweet for my liking, my partner enjoyed it though. Refinery Summer Time Iced Tea was a great and refreshing touch to the meal, portion size was kind of small for the price though. Overall a very enjoyable meal in a very nice cafe, would definitely come again.

Had a quick brunch here today with friends around noon. Friendly welcome at the door by a male staff member and seated quickly. Also not packed on a Saturday which was nice. I ordered the Hot Summer Tea and Avocado Toast with Smoked Salmon and added side of mushrooms. Both were great. I liked how the tea came with a mock Maple Syrup which you could add to your taste. We also ordered the Carrot Cake to share which was really tasty. Creamy filling between the layers, but not too sweet or rich.

Not exactly the most conveniently located but the food and drinks were all pretty good! Only thing I didn’t like was the ice cream on the shibuya toast, it was somehow really grainy and I didn’t like the taste either.

In love with this place! Very friendly staff, good food and coffee, nice setting and so cool ceiling! Their carrot cake is amazing, not too sweet, not too cinnamony, not too buttery, so far the best I’ve tried in Singapore.

A surprisingly spacious, clean cafe with friendly staff among commercial buildings and shop houses along King George's Ave. Great for small group gathering with friends and colleagues. Offers Western Japanese fusion food and drinks. Coffee lovers should try their Coffee Baller.

Ordered their Supa Salmon Poke Bowl & Summer Avocado Toast with Smoked Salmon on their Weekend Brunch Menu. The food was really good and the environment is pretty cozy and nice. Would want to come back for their other food.

Fabulous ambience. Encountered 2 bridal shower parties in our short span of 2-hour dining (enough to illustrate how pretty the place was). Cauliflower fritto, salted egg onion rings, and nuggets made a great start to dinner. The light tasty batter formed a nice crunch for the fried delights. Mala Beef, Refinery Signature Beef and Smoked Duck grains filled us up real quick. I had the mala beef bowl, and the spices delivered a decent kick. The sauce was a little sweet for me, but it was nevertheless a pretty balanced bowl.

Came here on a weekday for lunch, a few weeks ago. The mentaiko fries was really nice - the sauce wasn’t too rich, couldn’t stop munching on the fries. Our main dishes - truffle gyudon bowl and salmon bowl - were delicious, but nothing too extraordinary. I appreciate the interiors and the airy space. It’s like chill night bar vibes but in the daytime. I also like that it isn’t one of the noisy places and it’s easy to eat & catch up with friends. The only downside of this place is that we came when the weather was really hot and I think because of how big and airy the place is, the ac and fans took awhile to cool us down but really, not a big con.

Seems like this place have seasonal menu, so it will be nice to check their official website for Dine-In Menu. We thought it's Japanese, turned out its Thai menu 😨 We ordered their GyoDon (beef teriyaki), TFC (Fried Chicken Chunks), Green Curry Truffle Pasta. The Fried Chicken Chunks was well seasoned with sweet lemongrass with a hint of lime. It was so good to dip into my Green Curry Pasta Sauce which is a little bit spicy. I loved their Gyu Don too, sweet teriyaki beef mixed with onsen egg and rice 🥰👌They serve nice Hojicha Latte too (if you are a fan of it) 🍵 Do take note, their operation hour for the kitchen is abit special (after lunch, their kitchen will close aka tea time only) Enjoy!
