One of my fave places for decently priced and good Japanese food. Simple comfort food that’s well prepared.

Think you can’t find affordable Japanese food in Liang Court? Think again. Head to the basement (where Meidi -ya) and look out for the Hokkaido Dosanko Plaza. Bentoss Hokkaido is the store closest to Meidi-ya. The menu features value-for-money Japanese fare such as the Zaru Soba & Sapporo Zangi ($12.80). Not only is it affordable, it’s so yummy! The Sapporo Zangi is actually fried chicken! Think tender and crispy chicken, but only better.

Delicious food here. We had the Sappora zangi (award winning fried chicken) and cold zaru soba set, and the Sappora zangi ju and mini cold soba set. The chicken pieces were very crispy and fresh, and soba had a springy chewy bite. Ponzu vinegar dip was a nice touch to reduce the greasiness of the fried chicken. Yummy!

One of the best soba we tested in SG. finally one w chewy texture. My son had the crab w salmon rice and mini soba set @ $25 i think. The crab meat was light and not fishy at all. You can upside the rice for free. Good value. My seafood cold soba was light a d refreshing. Love it! Will be back to try the fried chicken which looks delicious on picture

I ordered the karaage set which was very generous for its affordable price. The karaage was yummy and quite authentic. I like the dip given which helps to cut the oiliness of the chicken. There's a common seating area for Meidi-ya stalls to sit.

Tasty and healthy takeaway bentos here! Can sit in at the Bentoss Hokkaido counter to consume even if you buy a takeaway and you can request for a hot green tea to go along with your bento.

Very good fried chicken. These pieces of Zangi, as they call it are fried to order. So every piece comes piping hot and juicy. It is served with a dipping sauce that has a citrusy flavour. Goes very well with the Zangi fried chicken. The soba are kind of special also as it's like our mee pok. Its flat rather then round. It has a good bite and not very chewy. The soba dip is also cold and is really flavourful that I can't stop from taking sips in between. The set is 12.80 and comes with hot tea. The spring onions and wasabi brings the soba dip to another level. Add to taste. A very good and satisfying meal.

Yummy bento and soba sets for a reasonable price. Fried chicken was mouth wateringly good. Will be sorry to see this place go along with Mediya when Liang Court is redeveloped in 2020.
