Good gin based cocktail. Nice bar snacks as well

Been here a couple of times with different groups and it’s always a good time. Food is good and a wide selection of gin so you can try a new one everytime.

I love this GIN bar! I love the feel of the bar itself which is on the 2nd floor on top of another bar on ground floor. The staff tastefully decorated the bar with halloween theme and looks very cool. The GIN varieties are massive and i love they have all day GIN happy hour menu and i can't stop drinking my preferred GIN which was recommended by the staff. Food wise, the fries are disappointing but the chicken wings/drumlets and masala chicken were nice! Table too small to hold drinks and food. Otherwise, everything is good.

Normally not a fan of one of the many F&B places in Boat Quay area due to the large amount of tourists and also a seemingly particular crowd. However, this place is certainly a hidden gem and has it own charm away from the crowd downstairs and outside. The happy hour is pretty good with Gin, beer and wine from $6.50++ onward. While agreeing with some of the reviews here that the G&T are pretty watered down, however, the plus point is they have a few selection of Gin brand to choose from. Perhaps they can offer patrons whom prefer a 'stronger' drink at an additional shot, also at a happy hour price, to make the deal even 'sweeter'. A good selection of cocktails too, priced from SGD25++ onward, and most at SGD25++. Although pricier, but certainly good value as the bartender does a good job in making these quite crafted cocktails. A good selection of bar food, and very British pub style food but good quality. Tried the penny chicken aka chicken cordon bleu which tasted very well, and the thick cut fries are also very delicious. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, particularly the lady in glasses, likely the manager whom was very warm and take good care of her customers. Chatting with her felt like chatting with a friend.

BeGIN has convinced me that yes we do need more gin bars in sg. I quite like the cozy interiors and chill ambience (maybe cos we were there early and basically had the whole place to ourselves 😅). Kudos to whoever decided on the playlist this afternoon the music was 💯 Was pleasantly surprised by the little ‘smoke show’ that came with our Lavender cocktail. Taste wise, I still prefer my monkey 47 gt… If you’re a gin lover, you’ll like this place and if you’re not… hopefully you’ll become one after the experience?? PS the stairs to BeGIN is located *inside* the penny black bar. I didn’t know so it took me awhile to find the place lol.

Located above an English bar on level 2. Not as noisy as downstairs. Good for having conversations. Great vibes, huge selection of cocktails. Lavender was excellent. Special date was not really up our alley.

This is really one of the places you wonder whether to keep secret or promote. Amazing service, great variety of gins at an amazing price. Their happy hour deals net you more than just the usual beefeater or bombay (EVERY OTHER BAR I'M LOOKING AT YOU) and they dont use Schweppes. The bartenders really know their stuff and are happy to walk you through what they have and what might suit your palate. I'll definitely be back!!

A nice place to hangout and have some cocktails in a late afternoon as there are not many cocktails bar open at 3pm. Very good range of Gin to select from.

Great place if you love cocktails of all sorts! Very creative combinations and flavours. If you like gin then this is the place to come, but what was surprising for me is that they also have a very good selection of other drinks on offer (both as are and in cocktails). The food selection is pretty good although I probably wouldn’t come for the food alone - but when paired with the drinks and with the comfortable environment, great decor and solid music - this is a really good place to hang out with some mates.

Lovely space with pretty decor and great drinks. The fish & chips are a must try, with fresh, flakey and moist fish and yummy chips, though the roast beef could have been more tender. Drinks were mostly gin-based, as one would expect, and cocktails we got were generally well executed. But sometimes the simple ones are the true showstoppers - for every bottle of gin we got, we received a glass each with the most complementary garnishes that just elevated the drink. We came as a group of 9 and the staff were attentive throughout, and were even generous enough to give a gin waterfall experience for the birthday boy. Had an amazing time here and will definitely be back for more!

Comfy and cosy bar to chillax with friends over drinks. Conveniently located near Raffles Place MRT and above Penny Black. Place offers a great wide variety of gin and delicious food to go along. The prawn paste wings and Fish & Chips are good for sharing with friends. The staff are also warm and friendly.

Lovely little place to enjoy a few drinks. Service was great and the staff very knowledgeable. Drinks were well made and the vibe is chilled too.

A cute hidden gem in the Boat Quay area. Everyone loves an affordable drink, and they've got $10 G&Ts with a fun little selection of ~8(?) gins to choose from. Nice and quiet upstairs but not sure if it was just an off-peak timing. Would love to try the other gins and perhaps a gin cocktail from them next time!

You can get a variety of Gin here and they only serve with the best selected tonic water. Very good service from the manager and her team.

Went there on a Friday night and while I think service was a bit slow because they were understaffed, the staff were all polite and friendly. One spilled my friend's drink a little when placing it on our table and she was so apologetic and even got her a free shot as an apology. Not necessary but much appreciated. I had the bramble, which was pretty good and the cottage pie... oh man... it's so hard to find cottage pie in Singapore and so was definitely looking froward to it. It did not disappoint, perfect for the rainy weather that night and hit the right spot for sure! my friend's didn't enjoy their cocktails as much though, it was some glittery looking drink which they struggled to finish.

Great evening. Large Gin selection. Good value beer and wine albeit small selection but that’s fine given your target. Good food ( big overlap with Penny Black menu downstairs which mean solid good value meals ). Shout out to the crew especially Steven ( Stephen ) who was 1st class with his attentive service and preemptive approach. Thanks team. Will be back.

Went here for round 2 and overall a really good experience! Surprisingly empty on a Sat night and we stayed from 9.30pm till closing. Ordered mostly from the all $9.90 menu. If you're not sure what to order, keyword search the drinks in the pdf menu and it will show u the flavour notes of each drink. Really helps to make decision between more fruity, floral, or spices kind of gin. The staff were really chill and laid back haha which i guess adds to the atmosphere. Manage to get a seat at in a corner sofa area! Had caramel popcorn as a side along with drinks. Unfortunately kitchen closed when we arrived so couldnt get anything from the food menu. Overall recommend if u just want a simple and chill place to drink and chat. Really close to one of the Raffles Place mrt exit towards UOB Plaza.

Really nice cosy speakeasy feel of a bar situated on the upper floor of a very English pub in Boat Quay. Service was excellent and the bar man seemed well versed in the intricacies of mixer combos for different drinks. Highly recommended, especially if you like your Gins.

The best bar in Singapore!! Both drinks and dishes are amazing!! Nice atmosphere and live music on every Saturday 7-10pm!!!!!!!

Great prices for Happy Hour drinks but drinks weren’t strong at all (what were we expecting at $6 a glass right) and service was shockingly bad. We had to go out of our way to get the waitress’s attention. Food was pretty decent, had the yam and fries which were both good.

This is really one of the GIN HEAVEN you will be visiting. Amazing service, wide variety of gins at a steal. Their happy hour deals from 5-8pm are at $7++ and they don't use Schweppes soda/ tonic, definitely not a diluted G&T either. I personally like the Broker's gin with tonic. If you go for the premium selection is only at $9++ (Gin mare was my favourite) And whats drinks without food? Their bar bites.. Do not miss out their "Tobascco Chicken wings" Fried to perfection and was surprised that the portion was huge. The bartenders really explained really well and are happy to walk you through what they have and what might suit your palate. Would recommend this place for gin lovers or even non-gin lovers!

Chill atmosphere, music and had great company as well. A huge variety of gin at affordable price. If you're gin lover like me, you should totally check this place out. It's on the second storey so you gotta take the stairs instead another bar.

Great place for gin lovers. I'm not a fan of gin but the staff was very knowledgeable and recommended me the drink called probation gin. Would definitely recommend this. Also their happy hour gins taste nice. The ambiance is really wonderful.

Cozy place with privacy and good value Friday happy hour drinks - 9.5$ for gin tonic before 8pm

Nice ambience, happy hour deals are pretty decent too. Felt like the drinks were a little watered down though, didn't feel much of a kick. Staff were friendly and approachable. Mains are served here too, so you can always go there for a late lunch/early dinner and enjoy the happy hour. I'll definitely visit again!
