Always a pleasure to dine here. Chef Yoshiyuki's perfect balance of flavours is something which we have not found elsewhere. There are many other restaurants which serve similar fare but none come close to achieving the same level of flavor synthesis from the thesis and antithesis of the primary ingredients. Everything comes together phenomenally here. (Dis)claimer: we've been coming here (on special occasions only due to the not inexpensive menu) since 2013 so we have sort of gotten to know the Chef. I will insist however that this does not cloud my opinion of the food. (I also know some chefs very well who just can't really cook.....)

Set menu offers good selection of sashimi, beef and small dishes. Good quality ingredients and nice presentation. However compared to the best ones in town this places lacks attention to the details, given the price they charge the value proposition is poor.

Yoshi, one of the famous Japanese restaurant in orchard road. Offers 3 different themed lunch menu: maguro, wagyu and uni. We ordered maguro and wagyu set, both set menu has their good and bad. Sashimi from both sets was stunning, fatty maguro belly and fresh sweet prawn were good. Maguro don was tasty too. However, the grill fish from maguro set and the beef don from the wagyu set were rather disappointing, the beef don especially, beef looks like scraps and tasteless. Hope Yoshi could keep the quality throughout the whole menu.

Excellent experience. Feels very private and exclusive. Great modern design mixed with traditional japanese crafts. Portions are filling, ingredients fresh. The sous chef Brandon was friendly and informative. The flight of sake was delicious although glass servings could have been slightly bigger. The Tuna and Wagyu melts in your mouth as expected. Advice : only go for the omakasa if you are really hungry. Otherwise go for the sets. There is a cozy lounge bar next door if you want to start with some drinks.

Came here with wife for our anniversary. Went for the Omakase and the whole experience was very good. The chef was friendly and tried his best to introduce the dishes and crack jokes. The staff would promptly clear our empty plates and refill our tea. I didn’t give five stars because I thought the presentation could be more interesting. Would come again to try the other menus.

Amazing experience here for my wedding anniversary. Very peaceful and very intimate ambience. The ingredients are top quality and prepared by Chef Yoshiyuki and team. And the team are very engaging and very friendly. Tried the Maguro themed menu and it didn’t disappoint at all i wish there were more haha. And of course I’ll be back here soon for an Omakase.

Fantastic omakase where the chef serves you what is good and fresh for the day. The dishes are well presented, delicious, and decadent at times. The chef, the manager, and the service is top notch. A quiet dining place to enjoy the company of your friends. It is next to a quaint watering hole as well. I do highly recommend this place for a memorable dinner like an anniversary. However do book ahead of time and be prepared to fork out a bit for this wonderful experience.

Wonderful dining experience, thanks to Chef Yoshi and team. I have been here twice already for their Omakase to celebrate special occasions and it was a delightful experience each and every time. The flavours of each dish is very thoughtful and there’s always that one an extra memorable dish with a special twist. A cozy dining environment in a warm wood interior with just 10 seatings, always a full house and some are definitely long term loyal customers.

Had tried the regular dons in the past and really liked them so thought of trying the more premium stuff today. Ordered the special chirashi + uni ikura negitoro hotate don. The quality of the sashimi was above average but not spectacular. Was left a little disappointed that the quantity of uni given was clearly much lesser than advertised. Overall, still a decent meal but I would not return for the premium set as there are better alternatives at the same price point out there. The regular sets are pretty decent and offers way more value for sure.

If you're into quality food without fanfare, you'll enjoy this place. Right from the start, it's humble entrance hints at its subtle menu. We had the omakase. Hardly fishy but melts in the mouth. Yes it's pricey but each dish is fresh, well balanced and beautifully decorated. Definitely recommend a try if you're looking to give a treat to yourself or loved ones.

Private and cozy ambience. Quality dishes but yet not leave an impression. Perhaps the biggest disappointment is to see the dishes prepared in batches literally in front of you. This is not omakase.

Excellent food/sake and excellent service. Sake and food pairing was amazing experience. Joshua and Jack assisted by excellent staff made this experience something which cannot be forgotten. Highly reccommending.

Best sushi and sashimi (plus more) dining experience in Singapore so far! Every dish in the Omakase set was excellent. And sushi chefs were extremely friendly. Will definitely return! Will post photos next time. Was so overwhelmed by the dinner that I forgot to take photos. An added plus - pre-dinner drinks next door at Horse's Mouth which is linked. [Returned two more times - for lunch and dinner; both times excellent again. This time adding photos]
