Not sure if the food and quality were worth the price paid for the set meal (about 80ish dollars per set). I ordered 2 sets The chirashi egg came burst 😞 and it was so disappointing because I’d really like to be the one who burst the onsen egg myself. The appetiser was some veg and mushroom , suspected it’s locally sourced produce. Then dessert was red bean mochi and sorbet accompanied by some cut fruits (rock melon, dragon fruit , orange ) also not Japanese :) sashimi dish was very ordinary, nothing special - just salmon , cheap tuna cut and shrimps.. For the price paid, really expected abit more. Felt pricey and not worth it. Still quite disappointed with the egg on the chirashi , wondering if it’s supposed to be like that or was it an onsen egg. It’s supposed to be onsen egg, right? 😭

Kuriya is a Japanese restaurant located in the Great World City shopping mall in Singapore. The restaurant has a modern and sleek design, with a spacious dining area and a sushi bar where diners can watch the chefs at work. One of the standout features of Kuriya is the quality of the food. The restaurant offers a wide range of Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, tempura, and grilled meats and seafood. All of the dishes are expertly prepared and beautifully presented, with a focus on using the freshest ingredients available. The sushi in particular is a highlight of the menu. The fish is incredibly fresh and melts in your mouth, and the rice is perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sashimi platters are also a great option for those who want to try a variety of raw fish. Another great aspect of Kuriya is the attentive service. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and are always on hand to offer recommendations or answer any questions you may have. They also provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making you feel right at home. The prices at Kuriya are on the higher side, but the quality of the food and service more than justifies the cost. Overall, I would highly recommend Kuriya Great World City to anyone looking for a high-quality Japanese dining experience in Singapore.

Wonderful service, nice staffs, good menu selection. The salt & pepper grilled pork was my favourite. The menu may sound basic but it was cooked just right - portion, flavour, juiciness, side veggie were just right. Everything were made with fresh ingredients, besides one of the tempuras (fish) had a bit of a fishy smell. The porridge that comes with the shabu-shabu set was cooked it in front of us by a friendly staff, and the porridge was very refreshing

One of my favourite Japanese restaurants which serves fresh Japanese produce at reasonable prices. Service is always excellent. The restaurant takes social distancing very seriously and I have seen staff reminding customers to put on their masks when not eating or drinking. Reservations are recommended, as the restaurant is always fully booked.

I may have found my go to restaurant for authentic and trusted Japanese food. While it is managed by RE&S, whom we know by the mass market Ichiban Boshi chains. Kuriya Dining blew me away by the high standards they offer. The sashimi was really really fresh and tasty. The sushi also did not disappoint at all. The AUS beef sukiyaki was extremely flavourful and fresh. In fact everything tasted so good we ordered so much! Only small issue was the Asari Clams had sand in them. They have an no child under 6 allowed policy and i feel it is needed for the diners to fully enjoy the ambience and hospitality the service staff offers. Overall a great Japanese dining experience and will definitely go again!

This is a medium-high end RE&S outlet and definitely deserves a 5-Star for quality and service. But of course the prices are higher too. A must try for all Japanese food lovers.

This Japanese restaurant is our go to for great selection of Japanese dishes. We typically come here for their sashimi and set dishes. I also loveeee their uni pasta! Creamy and rich, the umami flavour just fills up your whole mouth. Would recommend!

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very calm and peaceful, there is ample seating space and the lighting makes the place very cosy. The service is top notch, extremely friendly staff and they served the dishes out professionally and will present it nicely to you. We start off with the omakase sashimi platter, we get to choose our fish (air flown fresh fish), we got the black sea bream and barracuda. The sashimi was extremely fresh and sweet, pairing with the freshly grated wasabi (can tell it's real from the earthly tones), it's matches so well. Taste better than the ones I had in the Hakodate/Otaru/Sapporo morning markets. We followed up with the chef recommendation tempura, the items were very well battered as the batter didn't slide off or fall off when dipped in the sauce and it isn't greasy. The items retained the crispiness even after dipping and you can taste the ingredients. Lastly we have the cold matcha soba noodles, the noodles and silky smooth and is firm (not breaking apart when held), the dipping for the soba noodles came with a quail egg, seasame seed, wasabi and spring onions. The dipping for the soba noodles pairs extremely well with the soba, it was extremely smooth to slurp up the noodles due to the additional of the quail egg and the dashi meshes very well with the matcha from the noodles. This reminds me of the soba noodles I had from Yabuhan in Otaru, Hokkaido. The price is high but it's definitely worth it for the atmosphere, service and quality of the food served, will definitely come again in the future. Keep up the good work. 👍

I've finally had the opportunity to dine here again after nearly 20 years. (The last time I ate here was in 2004 as a celebration for completing my national service) My mum and I had their Botan Set lunch, an extra Ala carte fish prepared in two different ways, and some Akagai clam on the side. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience today. It's good to know that such quality and service stood the test of time.

Enjoyed the food and great service here. Booked a table for 9 a week earlier and when we arrived everything was prepared nicely without a hassle. Enjoyed my dinner here. Would come back again! Food is amazing too. It’s a mid-high end restaurant :)

Great food! especially love the mentaiko cod. The tempura batter were light, and sashimi fresh. Was served by Ivy and her service was truly commendable!

As a premium Japanese restaurant, it is certainly value-for-money. The quality was superb, and service, top-notch. As such, getting a place can be a challenge.

A friend treated us for birthday dinner at Kuriya. We order 4 set dinners and 1 ala carte. The sashimi was very good: fresh and thick slices. The medium rare beef was done excellently. Ala carte orders include the grilled fatty pork which everyone enjoyed and the chicken inuriya noodle soup (the noodle and soup was excellent but the chicken was overcooked and tough). Sadly, one of the sets include a main dish of tempura where the restaurants forgot about it. Everyone had finished their food and after reminding the 3rd time after 30minutes, then the food served. The staff was apologetic but did not give any other service recovery. We were there to celebrate so we didn't make a fuss but unhappy that the manager did not offer any form of service recovery at least to my friend who waited 30mins for the food. Because of this giving 3 stars.

Lovely ambience in this restaurant. Quiet, cosy, not too bright, decor and the layout of the place makes you feel very cosy while seated at the table. Came here on a weekend for lunch (we made a reservation just in case) and it was great! Sushi is yummy too, their lunch sets are delicious!

We tried this restaurant many months ago and kept returning because the entire experience was great, friendly chef and jovial staff who paid great attention and detail to make sure our visits were memorable. Something changed and we're now looking for another great Japanese restaurant because the experience of our last couple of visits were nothing like before. Sad and disappointing. We miss all the old staff who made us wanting to keep going back. Not anymore.
