Nestled and well hidden gem , this is a place to go for clean and quiet meal. There are so many choices for good halal meals from Nasi lemak, Ayam penyet, to briyani. Even the famous Serangoon soya bean is here ! And Adam chicken rice!

Predominately known for its Indian Muslim food with many stalls selling briyani, Indian rojak, prata and mee goreng. N M Abdhul Halim Mee Goreng is the star attraction here and in this business for almost 40-years. The hawker center has an industrial feel and of course sell other local favourites like carrot cake, nasi lemak, soya bean etc.

The West side hawker centre that is a notch above the rest. Recently upgraded (July-Aug 2022) which sees a fresh coat of paint & newly installed false ceilings/roof throughout the hawker centre. Food wise, a WIDE variety of food stalls selling our favourite local dishes at an affordable price. The only setback is, parking space. Packed with cars on peak hours and weekends.

Been coming here ever since I was schooling a decade ago, very popular meal spot as prices are relatively affordable and options a plenty. My personal favourites are the China food options at the back and the Soya Sauce Chicken rice. The Prawn noodles store is really popular as well. Several options for Halal and Indian food as well!

I'm a very picky person when come to noodle. But this stall soy sauce chicken noodle is really very good. Noodles is chewy & chicken is very tender to taste. Will definitely come back again.

Crowded place for foods. But too many good foods not to miss. We tried Indian rojak and Chinatown porridge. Both are yummy!

Here's what I tried so far. The chicken rice is probably one of the best I've tried. No joke. The queue can be long but it can be worth the wait. The chilli was spicy but not about to kill you kinda spicy. Highly recommend you try. Chicken was juicy. Skin was perfectly dry outside gives that nice roasty texture. Next I tried the kway teow goreng combo. First of all I like that the kway teow was piping hot. But the mutton steak was cold. It was nice but it was cold. Had a tummy ache after that. But I don't think it was bad. It was delicious. Love the fries. The combination was great would just prefer if everything was piping hot.

This is one hawker centre that is constantly busy, day or night. Some stalls cater to the breakfast / lunch crowds, others the lunch / dinner crowds. There's a great selection of muslim food stalls here, more than many other hawker centres. Some of my favourites are the roti prata (stall 55), Joo Chiat prawn noodles, minced pork noodles, soy sauce chicken, satay, and the 2 kopi stalls on both sides of stall 55. It does get busy during peak hours, so it's best to go during off peak, then you'll have better chances of getting a seat. For good malay indian food, this is one place worth checking out. Note that there's a major renovation coming up. I think the food centre will be closed from June to July 2022.

Pretty nice first impression 😊👍🏻 bagus hawker centre that is quite cooling and spacious :) With a vast variety of food options to choose from western to halal to Indian, this open-air eatery sure is suitable to many. Highly recommended if you live or work nearby 👍🏻👍🏻

A Hong Kong Yummy Soup with soup that have been cooking since dawn of day, full of flavour and refreshing. A grilled seafood stall that I enjoy the most is their Miso Squid. Must have. This two stalls have been around for a lot of years up to date.

Fry oyster at the middle row. $8 portion. Patrons, please advice to avoid at all cost. As you can see from the picture: Burnt parts due to strong fire, and not properly cooked at all. Very very disapponted

27 Jan 2023: Sharing Indian rojak and Joo Chiat prawn noodles with friends from Penang. 08 Sep 2022: Ayer Rajah Food Centre has a new look and the Joo Chiat prawn noodle is still as good. 26 Dec 2021: Plenty of choices at reasonable prices. Love the Joo Chiat prawn noodle, soup is very flavorful and they were formerly from Onan Road...moved to Carpmael Road and now in Ayer Rajah Food Centre. Amazing to see 3 Indian rojak stalls, couldn't resist and ended ordering some from Habib...very nice, the sauce is uniquely sweet and spicy.

Lots of muslim food as per recommended in the reviews. Tried the maggie goreng pattaya from Pakkaxxxxxx (sorry frgt the spelling) , it was normal, not really to my liking as i think the sauce was diff, it’s the red one. And they had mutton inside so kind of weird for me, didn’t expect. i thought it’s meatless or at least they shld ask. no egg in the noodle not sure why. The hokkien mee is not bad! quite a generous portion of seafood (prawns, lala, sotong) @$5. it was soupy but sweet and flavourful, hope it’s not msg. will be back again if i’m nearby.

This is the spot I have known since I was a kid. For many years I have skipped it due to variety of places to check out island wide. Recently went back here again and I just loved it. So many good food and you'll be spoiled.

This food centre went through a major maintenance recently. It is clean and airy. There are quite a no. of stalls operating in the morning, but there is no crowd. Eating there is a very good and enjoyable experience.

nice auntie but the char kway teow was a bit too sweet cos of too much black sauce, decent serving. old hawker center, looks like there's a lot of stalls serving halal food, I would like to try next time

Plenty of halal food consisting of western, infoan & Chinese. Popular for satay too! Affordable food. Thumbs ups.

Bought lunch from this Nasi Padang Stall. Yes a bit pricey compared to others but it is certainly more tasty. The staff are friendly. On an average for a 4 dish lunch it will cost you $7-8.

I love this. Typical of all such food centres in the heart of public housing estates. Cheap and good. With a lot of food of different racial and cultural origins. I like the Indian food here. Can be really crowded at meal time with long queues. Tables are clean. No parking problem as there is a huge public carpark next to it.

  • 4/5 Tien Yong T. 2 years ago on Google
Chicken rice set is nice and the price is worth👍just the queue is very long during peak hour (12pm to 1pm), after 1pm the vegetable and egg will be sold out already. Suggest to go before 12pm.

Since its the month of Ramadhan for muslim to fast, this place have a lot of good halal menu to choose from & couple with a mini pasar malam next door adds variety.

  • 4/5 Michellesw l. 11 months ago on Google
6 plus pm at there, it was quite airy. The tables quite clean despite didnt see any cleaners around. There are 3 lanes of food stalls, 1st 2nd lanes are mainly muslim/indian stalls.. The last lane that is nearer to Ntuc outlet, are mainly chinese stalls. Maybe most of the chinese stalls operate during the daytime only. A few chinese stalls still opening.. the chay kway tiao from that uncle stall is nice, wet wet type, sgd4 w/o chilli and cockles. Last lane beside drinks stall, i think 2nd unit, which also sell carrot cake, but sold out. And hokkien mee from 2nd lane also in wet wet type, with flavourful seafood gravy. Around Sgd5...they also sell oyster omelete, but also sold out.

This modest soup shop always has a long queue. The uncle prepare several large pots, and scoop out individual portions. Much better than other versions that pre-heat with steam.

Delicious food. The Best and my most favorite mee kuah at stall 49. Been eating here since 2002. And nothing could beat this mee kuah.. Stall 63 , very crispy and delicious char kway rojak 😋😋 .

Until now the hawker experience I liked the most and I tried out at least half a dozen in SG. Good selection of traditional food and especially vegetarian food which is hard to find in the centers. Also great variation of local drinks, can recommend the Gras Jelly one at the stall next to West Cost Drive.

  • 5/5 Jessica 1 year ago on Google
Loved the Ba Wang Hua with pork ribs soup from the Hong Kong Yummy Soup (stall 06). It's not a very common Chinese herbal soup in most hawkers. The light taste of meaty soup with Chinese almonds (apricot kernels), dates and the interestingly soft and fibrous flower made it a wholesome, comforting meal.

This food center is relatively quaint and remote. Popular with many Malay Stalls but also serve many others delights like BBQ, Porridges, Zichars etcs

👍👍 Probably one of the best coffee shop western food stalls you’ll find. Victor is a one-man show on fire (friend and I were thoroughly amazed by how he was doing everything alone, taking orders and grilling 6 pieces of meat at a go lol).
