Kimoto Gastro Bar

Restaurant

😐 Cozy gastrobar in a quiet corner of The Sail. The lunch menu attracts a crowd of office workers but the dishes are hit and miss, with some good and some just ok. Interesting selection of Japanese whiskeys and sake by bottle suggests that it would be a good bar after work too. People often mention lunch, good,

Visited kimoto gastro for lunch recently and tho it’s a small place they accommodate for walk ins, but you have to be there earlier (before 12 preferably) otherwise it gets full Had the salmon don which was good, comes with a set with salad/miso Will come back for dinner as this place is better known for skewers at night Seems like a cool place to drink after work also

Visited for lunch recently and was able to book a table in advance. Staff were great in both helping to re-organise due to a last-minute schedule change and once seated. Food & drinks are simple but great. The Kuriashi-don with 3 Meat and 2 Veggie skewers was fantastic. Perfect flavour and portion size. The Salmon Sashimi was delicious as were the Gyoza. Quick, attentive lunch service.

A nice secret hideout/hole in a wall Japanese place in the CBD that serves fairly affordable yet yummy dons! Pretty much love everything on the lunch menu! It’s a fairly tight and smoky place but the food and service makes up for it!

Really enjoy the Kushiyaki Don here. The skewers are perfect. While the drinks selection may not be the most extensive, you'll still be able to find something to pair with the food. This place is good for both lunch and dinner.

A wonderful cosy lunch spot! Strongly recommended for anyone keen to grab a don for lunch. Opens from 11:30am but no booking for lunch so get there early to get a seat! Beer promotion is great too. Service staff is awesome giving recommendation on what is the freshest for the day so do check in with them if you are keen.

A cosy place, good price considering it is located in MBFC area. A hidden gem, highly recommended. Limited seats so take note.

The day I went the sashimi was not as fresh :( Also there are so many people during lunch time so I was in a a rush to finish my meal and get out! I’ll give a try again next time when I’m passing by!

Food is pretty good but this could be one of the worst dining experiences for me. The elderly staff who was serving us was extremely rude and impatient. Ridiculously rude. She rushed us thrice to make an order quickly when it was our first visit there, and we needed more time to decide. After the meal (we only took 20 minutes to eat), my friend and I had our beverages unfinished and we wanted to spend a bit more time there to finish the drinks but the same lady rudely wanted to chase us away and told us “you know we have a dining duration limit right” in mandarin which we didn’t know about prior to ordering. There was no queue at all and the restaurant had empty tables so we don’t get why she kept rushing us. On top of that, her tone was very hostile. Lastly, while we were finishing up our drink she came over and asked “can I bill you already you have been here for very long” like what????? THERE WAS NO QUEUE. I understand that customers should not be hoarding tables for too long but our total dining duration was barely 40 minutes. May the restaurant owner please have a conversation with the elderly staff and we expect better service in the future. Cheers.

One for one golden ale, I just had. It is nice! I had a workout and this is my hydration plus two ice water which is topped up with smiles. So glad with the staff service, warm and prompt. Will come by again, definitely.

It exceeded our expectations in a good way. Good food and there is happy hour for beer. The best tempura and other fried food I've had in Singapore. Worth trying if you want Japanese food, and I'd consider going back.
