Very delicious and authentic Italian food. Price is very reasonable for the good quality food. Very good customer service by Jason and his team of service staff. The male / female owners and his team of staff regularly checked in on us for our feedback on their food and service. Visited the restaurant for Dad's Birthday and Mother's Day Celebration. When requested for customized writings on the cakes, the team very gladly and kindly fulfilled our wishes although the restaurant was busy and packed with diners. A must visit when in Hillview!

I did not make a reservation on a Sunday night at around 7.30pm, lucky for my wife and I, we were offered a table (we were advised that we would only get a bar counter seat and they normally do not do this). Placed an order for our food and was served surprisingly quickly. However they served our beer braised beef (not photographed here) before our starter which was the stuffed flat bread dish. The food was really good and our bill ended up around 85 dollars for a starter, 2 mains and a lovely tiramisu dessert. Service was good, waiters were alert and moved quickly. We had no issues despite being seated in a quiet corner. Overall this was a pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend making a reservation as I noticed several groups waiting outside the restaurant.

Make a reservation before going and went in the sat afternoon to avoid crowd. The staff are all very proactive and service oriented. After you are seated, they served you free water. The pizza is the thick crust type and the ingredients are packed. The medium size can get you 4 different flavors so it's nice for sharing. The lasagna is packed with meat and quite soft. The pasta is a bit too soft but feel of basil when served. The roasted pork skin is very crispy but got a bit of porky smell. Overall nice ambience and service is good.

We went as family (for post Valentine's Day celebration)....Food is great, loved everything, and our favourite is the Beer Braised Beef, Mashed Potatoes. Excellent customer service! The staff are all professional and friendly most especially Jayson who served us! We are impressed with how fast the food are served! ❤👏

Most delicious Italian food I have ever tried before! Highly Recommended for Grilled Octopus 🐙!! So tender and juicy 🥺🥹 Price was reasonable too. Atmosphere: abit hot inside (maybe cause window seats?) But service was quite fast! Would come again to try other dishes on the menu for sure!! 🥰

Finally got to have a meal here, and real glad we did. Everything looked so good! I think the meatballs, which we had for starters, were simply amazing, quite possibly the best I've ever had - so tender and moist and tasty! 😋 The pasta and the lasagna were wonderful also, deliciously creamy and so rich in flavours (on hindsight I really shouldn't have tried to eat the entire lasagna on my own.. way too rich 😅). And the pistachio tiramisu was a surprisingly delightful treat, though personally I still prefer the traditional version. Definitely coming back for more and to savour the many more other items on their menu. 😊

Such a amazing experience and definitely blew all my expectations away. Wait staff were absolutely amazing, thoughtful, attentive and warm. Their food recommendations were spot on. I loved everything that we had ordered. Pictured are the margherita pizza, porchetta baked pork belly, meatballs in tomato sauce and the special which was braised pork. Will definitely recommend and will definitely return.

The food was awesome. You can feel italy oozing out from it. The place was packed on a weekday night. Do make reservation if you are coming in a group. The pork belly was tender, flavorful. Will definitely paid them a visit again.

This place is absolutely FIRE 🔥 Impeccable food and the service was very quick despite us visiting during the peak hour! We were lucky enough to get a table despite not making a reservation (would definitely recommend making a reservation though because they’re very busy!) We had the grilled octopus, and can i just say it was the best i ever had!! Super soft and tender, very well seasoned as well! The baked eggplant parmigiana was a surprise too! The tomato sauce was tangy, making it a fantastic pairing with the soft eggplant. Would like to make a special shoutout to the service staff! They were especially attentive and friendly despite the crowd!! Kudos to the crew for their hard work! Hope they would keep it up! We will definitely be back again soon to try the rest of the menu!!

We were there for dinner on 10 Jan and were served by Mega, who was very helpful and patient to our requests. The recommendations that she gave were excellent and dishes were served fast. The pricing was just right for the quality of food, which were delicious. The whole place had a nice ambience to it, crowded but not too noisy. At the end of the meal, we ordered gelatos and were given a surprise, which was very high touch by Mega. We had a really good time there - thank you for making the dinner memorable!

Very busy Restaurant! A big open concept kitchen and a bar on the opposite side. The atmosphere is casual and feels very comfortable. Staff were friendly and as we do not have a reservation. We were lucky to get a table with 1 hour dining time. Order the pizza, special truffle risotto and the cripsy pork belly. Tasty and reasonably priced. Good place for gatherings.

Food was average. Crispy golden seafood: under seasoned and over fried. The squid was rubbery, fish was fishy. Pasta: Too watery, imagine finding your pasta resting in a puddle of water and oil. With additional bacon added, the taste went from bland to alright. Meatball small bite: tender and flavourful. Those who cannot accept the beefy taste might want to skip this. Service was prompt, but I do not like how they tried to clear your plates as you are having a meal, especially when there is still food remaining. It gives the impression that they need you to go to free up the seats for the next patrons. Space between tables is also small, making it rather uncomfortable.

Loved the service by the staff. They are friendly and accommodating. They would check about the food too. Food was great; tasty and generous. It’s nice to now that the class of dish can be found in the area. Love it. The space is pretty crowded, especially on weekend. Walking areas between the tables and payment area are tight. Worth to mention too, the ventilation can be improved. The air was towards the warmer side (probably because of the crowd during dinner time?) and made clothes smell.

It's a truly delicious Italian restaurant. Every time I go, the main dishes are so tasty, and the desserts are also very satisfying. The only downside is the attitude of the staff. My husband and I ordered house wine, and while the server was bringing two wine glasses, one accidentally hit the chair and broke. They brought a new glass but rinsed the one that was brought with the previous glass. As a result, there was water inside the wine glass. When we asked for a replacement because we couldn't drink wine from a glass not properly dried, the staff displayed a bad attitude.

It’s always a delightful experience visiting iO. Once you step in you can see the busy kitchen where everything is prepared. From pasta station to the pizza station, down to the areas where cakes are made. Some may find the kitchen too open as there are no isolating glass panels to block off the remaining smell that escapes the exhaust fans, but I love it. The pork belly with dill is a must have for me (under starters). The bread in the picture is also a favourite; traditional stuffed Roman schiatta. Do note that the qr code on the menu can be scanned to reveal even MORE items on the menu. In my last last visit, I didn’t have a good experience with the coffees. I sat at the counter and saw the preparation. The shots did not seem properly calibrated and was running very fast. This MAY have changed.

Ordered some items from the regular a la carte menu and some weekly specials. It’s my first time there, celebrating my husband’s birthday. The dishes are delicious and flavourful, we cleared everything. Only thing I felt could be better was service. Didn’t get any “how’s everything” when all the tables around me got it; need a bit of attention to get them to come over to take orders etc

Always a good meal at IO! Been here several times with different groups and hard to find fault with the meal. We ordered seafood platter for sharing but the recommended sizing was abit small…so go for the bigger platter unless it’s only for 2 pax.

The food is truly excellent and authentic and the staff are pleasant and helpful. Would strongly recommend the place to food lovers. However, the mood was somewhat dampened by the unfriendly, indifferent and curt attitude of the female cashier after the meal who did not even look at you. She could have been more friendly and responsive especially when I greeted her with a smile and "hello". The food is excellent no doubt, but can be augmented by better cashier's manners which was somewhat disappointing at the end of a good family meal.

This place is amazing. Reasonable prices for good quality food. Service is quick and prompt without the bells and whistles. Food portion size and quality is good. There was no queue as we went on a weekday. It is best to avoid weekends. There was plenty of staff in the kitchen. There is also a takeaway counter if you like to do so.

First time out here. Good thing I made a reservation for dinner. Fairly big restaurant. The crowd inside gives me a warm and fuzzy that it's a good place. And yes it certainly was. Our server was extremely helpful in his recommendations. Service was fast. Food presentation and taste were all excellent. I would have given Osteria a 5 ⭐ if not for the pricing. The extra large Seafood pasta was I felt overpriced. Other than that, kudos to the owner and especially the servers and cooks! Highly recommended! But make sure you have a reservation first.

Italian food here are authentic and tasted amazing. We particularly like all of their pasta, burrata salad and grilled octopus. Waiting time could be quite long during dinner. Service could perhaps be improved as our bill was approx $300 and we requested for a candle on the cake we ordered, but they forgot it. After reminding the waiter to give us the candle, he came up with a cake we didn’t want with candle this time then charged us for the new cake. Perhaps just a candle will do?

There is a reason why it is so well booked. Their meats are better than their seafood but their pasta is really their signature. A must try and definitely a revisit on a weekday. Was there on Saturday and it is their most popular day and yet they had enough staff to cover the grounds that I never felt left out…. Really packed and strictly 2 seating on Saturdays.

Its in a building that has a spacious carpark, which is really a plus when it comes to weekend dinner spots. The interior is warm and comfortable, with large 10-12 pax family-sized barn tables, also small 2-pax ones. Tables are nicely spaced out and not too tightly packed - i particularly enjoyed the corner window seat catching up with a small group of friends over dinner. The food was delicious. The hand cut potato was surprisingly REALLY delicious and perfectly seasoned. The lasagna was yummy, the mushroom schiacciata (best eaten hot) was crisp on the outside but so moist and flavourful on the inside. I think the roast chicken was moist but flavour was not the most memorable. I have had better carbonara too but theirs was decent. The portions are on the slightly smaller side, would recommend going with more people so you can order more varieties to share (can be abit less conservative). Would definitely return. Weekends are packed, best make a reservation 2 weeks prior. We tried to make a 4 pax reservation 1 week in advance and was left with a 4 or 8.15pm slot. There would be a dining duration limit if they are fully booked

Amazing food, I used to visit the Bangkok one often, Singapore's offering is just as good! The pork is ace and the bacon rolls and beef and marsala ravioli is epic! Throw in some very affordable carafes of red wine some slices of pizza and attentive service, and this is an afternoon grazing treat!

Always crowded. Good mains. Good variety. Desserts were a fail. Black forest cake and that thingy with apricot Jam didn't work out for our group. We thought a place like this should have a better dessert game. The burrata was delicious

The food and wine was excellent and exactly as we expected. Really enjoyed everything but especially the chef’s special seaweed pasta and the grilled bacon wraps. Unfortunately the restaurant was busy and because it’s quite open it’s very loud and has a cafeteria feeling to it. The service was quite disappointing, and we had to ask multiple times where the rest of our food was (even servers came a few times to ask if we were done with the table or waiting for more items). The whole thing felt very chaotic and like no one was really on top of things; which is as disappointing. Food was good enough that we will try again in a less busy night and hope service is better.

We saw the good reviews and went to try. The food was amazingly nice!!! The service crew Miss Ika is helpful and friendly , appreciate for her patience and good service!! What a pity was that we can’t fully enjoy during our meal as We were assigned to sit near the window side (French window without any cover) which is very sunny & hot during lunch hour. Hope the restaurant can take note and improve this so the customers can truly enjoy while dining there

I highly recommend this restaurant, their food was excellent n their service staff name Mega Wati was so attentive, accommodating and incredibly friendly. Situated on 2nd floor of HillV2 Mall. Brings back memories of family run osterias in Italy. Food is made with fresh produce, simple, unfussy and authentic, altogether excellent throughout. Seafood platter was nicely grilled. Homemade pasta was al dente and sauce was unpretentiously simple. Can give pizza a miss though. Ambience: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Service: 4/5

Have been here multiple times and can say that the food here is as good as it is consistent. Personally I recommend trying out their stuffed schiacciata and risotto. Place is almost always fully booked during the weekends and public holidays so make sure you make reservations way ahead of your visit to avoid waiting for 1-2 hours

Very good quality Italian food at affordable prices. I was particularly impressed with their own label wines which go for S$48 per bottle. We had the Pinot Grigio and it was really enjoyable for the price. Will definitely come again!

A very busy place with great ambience! Went twice and ordered the blue cheese schiacciatta with pork belly. Crispy crust, flavourful pork with hint of blue cheese! Ordered the delicious pork belly separately and I strongly recommend this 👍 Other than these, we think the lasagna was pretty normal, on the bland side, mediocre but heartwarming dish, you can save your belly for other food. The meatball, chicken, pasta and other pizzas that we tried are just very mediocre food that are on the pricey end, good but definitely not fantastic. It feels to me that most of the food lacks a bit of seasoning. P.S Dont recommend ordering their beef/steak. 1st time tried beef battered beef with artichoke and mash potato, the meat was tough and tasted bitter, very unpleasant. 2nd time ordered the weekend special breaded rump steak and it was pretty awful that 7 of us didnt finish it not because we are full, meat was so tough and old that it was impossible to finish

Super popular place, very full when we visited on Friday evening. Generally everything that we got was v affordably priced and tasted good. Got the octopus, “flat pizza”, hand cut potatoes and pistachio tiramisu. Potatoes was quite a miss. Staff were v friendly

Went for a late lunch on a weekday. The place was almost full, had a short wait for the staff to prep the table. Was seated next to the glass window & the heat from outside can be felt, would suggest to put up some window film or screen. Nice interior though. Quite nice tasting Italian pasta with nothing over empowering, nice touch… will opt for the octopus at next visit.

Love the shop, it’s pretty and conducive. We ordered the pepperoni pizza which was 10/10. The pizza crust was absolutely airy and delicious. I could eat it all day. The truffle bread was 6/10 just soso. The octopus pasta was just normal nothing spectacular. Seafood platter was not worth it at all and nothing great about it. I would come back for the pizza again and a great place to hangout with friends

authentic italian food in a rustic place, love the vibez of the storefront, bakery, open-kitchen and the table setting. food was really good (loved the pork especially) and seafood was grilled perfectly (but for price wished the portion was bigger). orecchiette was deliciously chewy but lacked ingredients. but the lava cake dessert was delectable, enjoyed every bite of it. would save stomach room for two desserts next time!

  • 4/5 Serena C. 8 months ago on Google
Food was good. The Grilled Farmers Salad had a nice assortment of vegetables grilled with a drizzle of olive oil and sprinkling of salt. The pizza came with an assortment of 4 toppings, giving a nice variety. Tables were abit close to each other with not much privacy for conversations. And the background noise can be rather loud during peak hours.

Food quality is back to nearly the original standards when they just opened. Truffle bread wasn't toasted enough though. Seasonal menu could improve as our family had too many meals here, it's getting tiring to have the same old choices

  • 5/5 Kent L. 6 months ago on Google
The baked pork belly deserves special mention. The succulent and perfectly seasoned pork is roasted to a crispy, golden perfection, while the meat inside remains tender and flavorful. Every bite is a harmonious combination of savory, salty, and wild fennel flavors that dance on your palate. Of course, I couldn't leave without indulging in their delectable pistachio tiramisu, which was the perfect sweet ending to my Italian gastronomic adventure.

iO Italian Osteria has been on our must-try list for the longest and we finally paid a visit there a while back! We got a few recommendations from our friends and here’s our take on their authentic Italian street food: 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗮 (𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹) ($10) We’ve heard that iO does their bread SO well - this Italian flat bread was well toasted and crispy! The truffle and cheese was aromatic but we just wish there was more filling to make us really fall in love with it. 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗮, 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆, 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 (𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹) ($9) This was highly rated by many and as pork belly fans, our expectations were sky high. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed by the taste, perhaps because it was not piping hot when we dug in. The pork belly was meaty and had crispy crackling skin, and the wild fennel definitely balanced out the fattiness. This was also served with a mustard sauce which went really well with the pork belly. 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗴𝗴𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 ($14) Now this was the unexpected star of our meal. It was piping hot (maybe because it was served in the pot it was baked in), and the cheese was so gooey and stretchy. With the endless layers of eggplant, tomato sauce, and cheese, it was like a lasagna that we couldn’t get enough of. This was a good choice of solid flavours and texture! 𝗢𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗲 ($19) Don’t overlook this unassuming and simple pasta which grows on you. Somehow, the pasta became increasingly aromatic with every bite! While the serving looked very small, the sauce was thick and made this dish good for sharing. However, we could not really taste the pork sausage crumbles on top. We thoroughly enjoyed the rustic and charming ambience at iO and can see why it’s always bustling with regulars. This might perhaps be one of the best places for some solid Italian food - so hear it from us that we’d surely be back! Follow us on IG @toofoodtomiss for more foodie content!

Had dinner there. If it's crowded you need to be in que. Food is tasty. But I think they need to increase the portion of the main rather than adding more vegetables. When comes leaves salad dressing is not much. It's hard to eat raw leaves.

The epitome of authentic food. A thoroughly brilliant experience. The staff were friendly and incredibly attentive, going out of their way to ensure that you have a pleasant experience. The food tasted as though they've just been flown in from Italy, authenticity on crack. The highlight would definitely be the pork belly, soft tender meat with a crispy exterior skin, and stuffed with a kind of mushroom and herb filling (not sure about this). Definitely would recommend this place.

Very impressive, price is reasonable for the quality and standard. Really crowded even on a weekday lunchtime. Roasted pork was a little too salty. Lasagne was really good, pizza is quite different compared to what you have outside but it’s good. Will definitely visit again. Hidden gem in the neighbourhood.

Have come here a couple of times over the last two years for special occasions. Always enjoyed the food and service staff is mostly great - until this time, one of the Italians pulled down their mask to sneeze in the middle of the dining floor. Then before he could wash/sanitise his hand...he wiped it along the service table where waiters collect food... Covid-19 or not, that was gross.

This place can get really crowded. Do make reservations before hand. Expectations were high before I tried out the food. Appetitizer meat balls were excellent. One of the more memorable meat balls I have tried. Braised beef was average. Meat was soft but some parts remember hard to chew, flavor was balanced but not memorable.

IO never fails to whet my appetite for Italian food. The porchetta is a must. Complement it with the stuffed schiacciata with truffle mushroom. My wife had the tagliolini with prawns...gave it a 2 thumbs up 👍👍. My son went for the ever reliable lasagna and was very happy as well. What made our dinner better was the very hospitable and attentive service given by Jason. We were seated at the innermost area of the restaurant, but Jason made sure that all our needs are attended to. This is top notch customer service. Overall, IO is worth the trip, considering we live a bit far from the place. Definitely will be going back to try the other items in the menu.

Second time dining here. Food is consistent with robust flavours. Previously tried their pastas, which was perfectly done. You also can't go wrong with the beer braised beef, so tender and delicious with buttery mash potato. The roasted farm chicken was much bigger than we expected. The meat was soft and juicy, cooked just right, and spices are tasty and light, not overpowering. Eggplant parmigiana was a bit too salty but still lovely with the generous cheese and tomatoes. Good for sharing. Pork belly was a little disappointing because the skin wasn't very crispy. But the seasoning and mustard (?) sauce were great. Panna cotta had a layer of sweeter-than-expected chocolate on top, but overall still smooth and pleasant on the palate, well balanced. Every member of the staff is friendly and professional. The restaurant is quite packed so most tables are pretty close to one another, which means you can probably overhear other people's conversations. Would be good if there were slightly more privacy and space.

Waiting was okay. Vibe of the place was really nice! I tried the lamb pasta (not sure what its called) and was very disappointed. Not sure why but it felt like it was slightly raw though the sauce was fine/good. The pizza was quite worth for $9 and tasted great! Also bought a bread bag which was super worth the price. Overall good experience!

Best order are pork belly and the stuffed Roman bread. The rest you can always select up to your preference. Food came fast and timely. Staff came and check in with us a few times on the food as well as clearing up the tables. Overall, great place to dine in for casual Italian food. Pricing slightly above average than causal dining but food and service top it off. 👍

Easiest one of the best Italian restaurants around. Do try to get a reservation before heading down as they’re always packed. The food is incredibly flavourful and of a good portion. The meatballs were incredibly tender and juicy, slightly too salty for our taste but still a delightful treat. This time round we also tried the prawn tagliolini which tasted really light and refreshing. One minor feedback would be that the prawns were quite mushy this time round. The lasagna was also just perfect comfort food. We’ve visited this place multiple times and will definitely return again for some authentic Italian food.

Was seated at the counter facing the kitchen. Enjoy looking at how the various cook preparing the food. Had some conversation with the cook and they are very friendly. Food is lovely. Enjoyed my grilled seafood and burrata. Wine was good too. Found a hair on my burrata and it got replaced immediately with apology. Enjoyed my time there.

…perfect place for fast food Italian style…with a big crew at the kitchen, your order is almost served immediately after placing it with the very attentive and knowledgeable waitress…they did mess up my reservation and sat wife and I next to a big pillar far away from the brighter tables near the windowed walls but thankfully the food helped in the recovery…

Traditional stuffed roman schicciata, juicy baked pork belly and tender spiced roast farm chicken, along with a io draft beer, worth the trip and worth going again. Staff is super friendly too.

we came here for an after exam celebratory dinner and the food is yummm, esp the truffle flat bread and rosemary fries. We also ordered the lasagna and baked pork belly which were good as well! The waiter Jayson was attentive, cleared the plates promptly and gave us good recommendations. The truffle flat bread was the best rec! Can’t wait to be back to try more of their dishes :)

My husband and I came to this place on a whim cause we were looking for quality Italian food in the west. It was our first time here and we ordered the burrata, tagliolini, and carbonara (ordered a classic to see how the food measured up to other places) after a 25 minute wait. By then we had our expectations raised because of the wait, my husband even told me their food had better deliver, and deliver they did. To start, the burrata was so fresh and refreshing! I would say it is a must-have on the menu. The other two pasta dishes were above average- they were cooked perfectly aldente, and taste was good too. I’ve never liked fake creamy carbonaras, and this one was nothing like those. We were seated at the kitchen counter, and i honestly think those were the best seats in the house! Hubby and I really enjoyed watching the chefs hustling and bustling while they churned out and plated orders of fantastic food- it was too bad our stomachs could only take so much or we would’ve tried more items. Funny how my hubby went in “sian” telling me he didn’t have much of an appetite but came out “happy” saying we should come again.

The food is great, but more importantly, the service is outstanding; one of our orders took a long time to come, and the waiter gave us a tiramisu and a cup of coffee as an apology

Best burata I have tasted, it’s very light so even the big one was quickly finished. Pizza are great, very nice proof and rise in the oven, it was nice but overshadowed by the rest. Pasta were not too bad, marsala sauce ravioli was a bit too sweet due to the marsala but reasonable. My wife loved the fig risotto-ish pasta due to contrast of savoury and sweet The crispy pork stuffed with fennel was super crisps and the meat tenderness was on point. Stuffing goes well with the whole dish Highly recommend the burata with some bread, everything else is to your own preference

Ordered delivery from the restaurant. We particularly enjoyed the baked pork belly and lasagna. Made a feedback regarding one of the items which we felt was slightly overdone. And the operation manager personally text me to apologize and offered to replace the food item. Good attitude. Will order again/visit the restaurant when we have the chances.

    首先人超多,最好预定位置。 第二每份食物量超大 第三main course 味道都比较一般。 其他的都好吃😋

Food was scrumptious, especially the Pork Belly and the Schiacciata. The Cioccolata was amazing as well. Waiter Jason was very helpful and catered to all our needs and requests very well and with a smile.

I've came here for so many times, but every dining experience is better than the next! I really recommend the cream based pork sausage pasta, and the roman stuffed schachiata. Jason was really helpful and recommended a lot of good dishes to choose from, and is such a warm hearted person! I definitely recommend dining here! ❤️
