At
the
end
of
the
arcade
area
of
Capitol
Kempinski
hotel,
the
German
restaurant
is
split
into
two
areas
across
each
other.
At
one
end,
the
dining
area
with
warm
vintage
European
vibes
with
homely
atmosphere.
The
other,
Daybar
and
Freida
Garden,
slightly
underwhelming
beer
garden
that
is
air-conditioned.
Started
with
the
rye
bread
and
butter,
which
unlike
most
fine-dining
places
that
serve
white
bread.
These
can
be
quite
filling
but
is
good
with
the
saliter
meats/sauce
later.
We
had
the
sausage
platter
and
oven
roasted
pork
knuckle
to
share
across
the
table.
The
sausage
platter
was
average
at
best.
Pork
knuckle
on
the
other
hand,
stole
the
show
easily.
Good
crisp
on
the
skin,
with
tender
meat
that
is
not
too
greasy.
The
pretzel
dumplings
that
came
together
with
both
dishes
were
also
worth
the
mention.
Expected
a
little
more
with
the
beer
flight
if
I
was
honest.
Service
can
definitely
be
improved,
perhaps
we
caught
them
on
an
understaffed
day.
