We tried their Omakase Lunch as the pricing seemed reasonable and reviews were not bad. Lunch time the restaurant had few customers. It was situated at Link Hotel and parking was in an open lot behind the hotel. The whole environment of the restaurant was less than 3 stars although seating was comfortable. The hot green tea served was only warm. So we didn't have much expectation of the food. However, the chef was able to deliver a not bad food experience, especially in his sushi courses. We find the Omakase experience not consistently good from appetizer to desserts. While some are pretty good, others disappoint. We think the chef can do better by having more sushi courses in the set.

Great experience having a fulfilling Omasake meal Decided to pamper with a premium meal and decided on this japanese place run by Chef Tai. We enjoyed the best and the fresh seasonal fishes and sea urchin, Uni. The kinki fish is my favourite.. The slightly flamed fatty otoro is always a luxury to consume The atmosphere is causal ans chef friendly and professional. Good place to visit

“Definitely coming back again” Ordered the Chef’s Omakase and thoroughly enjoyed every dish. Given the interior is not the most fancy and well designed, the quality of the food made every dollar paid worth it.

It was a brilliant Omakase meal. We took the $138 meal which had tuna belly as part of the offering. We were served at the counter by executive sous chef Devin. As he had newly joined the team, he was very careful about how he composed and presented the dish, and made effort to explain the dish to us. He also took great pains to check how to pronounce the ingredients in English with the staff and head chef and It was much appreciated. All the appetizers were amazing. Very well curated by the head chef and presented by the team. Only dishes that didn’t hit too well was the crab which was overwhelming and salty but full of meat and umami, and the grape ice cream dessert which tasted like plastic, but I think it probably was authentically Japanese in taste. Dishes were extremely refreshing and fresh, be it the uni, hamachi, tuna belly. I loved the grilled fish and the sushi’s were amazing. They were generous with the Kurau on various dishes. Miso soup was the best I’ve tasted ever! All in all, I would highly recommend giving Torio a try. Service was personable and fast. Drivers who park in the back car park can get car park redemption.

Went for their mackerel dinner set ($68) which was a huge disappointment. The set comes with 3 appetisers (tasted very stale), miso soup (too salty for me but some may like it), uni chawanmushi (nth special), Mackerel (the fish was fresh which was the saving grace), rice and a scoop of sesame ice cream (super grainy texture and icy). The hand stretched udon ($20) was also not worth the price. Overall didn’t like the atmosphere nor food.

First, the service was 👍and attentive! Staff were enthusiastic! The food is good ! Had the $138 Omakase set & a $68 set dinner set. The portion can be bigger. Can include 3 lumps of maki to the set. We Had to top up with agedashi tofu and maki.

Great Omakase experience coupled with excellent customer service. Definitely a underrated gem located near the heart of city. Make a reservation to make sure you don’t get disappointed! Make sure to say hi to the head chef Jackles Tai!

Continuing culinary journey to enjoy japanese restaurants in Singapore. Today , we had lunch at Torio and I had sushi lunch set. As you saw in photo, the sushi was well shaped, with small amount of rice which was just nice not to overpower the fish. Personally, I felt the rice could be better.. I prefer moister and softer.. but the fish here was fresh ..

This is a nice authentic Japanese restaurant. The food was very tasty but on the pricier side. We ended up paying about $300 for 6 people on a weekday lunch. Definitely would come again, worth a visit.

We had a wonderful meal at Torio recently, and I must say their food quality is really top notch! Their Kiwami Omakase course ($138++ per pax) consists of a variety of cooked dishes, sashimi and sushi. From grilled fish to multiple sashimi courses, we were treated to many exquisite ingredients. I must say many of the courses consist of otoro, but I am totally not complaining as their otoro were so fresh and rich. Food wise I must say we were thoroughly impressed. Do not expect a very posh ambience, but do come down to enjoy good food. However, there were things we weren't so happy about. They didn't allow us to sit at the counter seats at first as we didn't order the chef omakase sets which were much more expensive, but complied later on as we ordered a more expensive course set and they brought us to a rather quiet corner of the counter. I didn't get why we couldn't sit at the counter, as the seats there were largely available the whole afternoon. Definitely would have spoilt our dining experience if not for the wonderful food they served. All in all, go for their good food without too much expectations!

Had an enjoyable omakase lunch. Chef Jackals is an experienced chef who is very personable and prepared food expertly while chatting with us and explaining patiently. Ingredients were very fresh and I especially enjoyed the monkfish liver, uni, crab dish various types of sashimi. The dishes were uniquely presented and special.

Teppanyaki by chef Jay was very good! He entertained us by showing us skills of juggling the spatulas. The dishes were cooked well and tasty. Each dish had their own special suace to pair with. Nice place to dine and we would come back..

Received a birthday treat from my brother last night at Torio. We had the omakase set and were served by Chef Jack. A very creative, innovative and spectacular tasting set. Also super value for money. You need to have this when you are very hungry! ~Caroline

A place to come over and over again For my last omakase, the flavours were very intense, huge flavours packed into bite sized morcels The chefs there were able to tease out the best from fresh seasonal availabilities, and are confident of their abilities High in value at every price range

I suggest the restaurant to remove the lower value omakase menus from its offering if it can't offer a decently filling meal for the price. We ordered the $80++ per pax omakase & we didn't feel full at the end of the meal :-( 3 pieces of sushi were served as part of the meal & they were the skinniest sushi I've ever seen!! When I gave feedback about the sushi portion, I felt insulted by the wait staff who tried to explain to me that the sushi is handmade, unlike those we eat "elsewhere" which are machine made (insinuating that we are comparing to sushi conveyor belt places??). When I gave feedback that we weren't full, the solution was "would u like to top up to get a rice bowl?". After the severely disappointing sushi, we decided we weren't gonna order any more food. The restaurant interior is very dated. The waitress who served us couldn't pronounce or did not know the names of some of the dishes she served. Overall a very poor experience for our 1st visit. Very annoying to spend $190 for 2 pax and leave with an unsatisfied feeling. We went with high hopes but realised the resto only takes good care of customers who order the premium omakase. Do it right or don't do it at all.

Tried the Omakase menu, found random ball of thread on the sashimi…😢overall only half of the dish is good and the other half is bad in terms of freshness/texture. A lot of room for improvement.

Good set lunch deals even on weekends. Quiet place with complimentary parking at Link Hotel (otherwise a 2 hour lunch would have cost $7 in parking fees). Friendly staff too.

Thoroughly enjoyed the teppanyaki dinner set! The executive chef, Jay, was professional and detailed in explaining each dish to us. Jay was meticulous in his food preparation and an amiable chef who takes effort to engage the customers! Highlight of the meal was the A5 wagyu beef which was well marbled and extremely tender when prepared in medium doneness.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Torio Japanese Restaurant that specializes in omakase. Tried their $188 set that comes with 2 appetizers, 3 sashimi, 2 hot seafood, 3 premium sushi, 1 seafood don, soup and lastly dessert. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional and exceeded of my expectations. Every dish was carefully crafted and the service was prompt. While it was a pricey meal, it was worth for the quality of the ingredients, the skill of the chef, and the overall experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a truly memorable dining experience!
