The
price
to
value
ratio,
especially
up
against
the
many
other
top
omakase
spots
in
Singapore,
was
a
little
off.
We
had
2x
Ran
sets
and
a
360ml
sake,
and
the
bill
was
close
to
1k
SGD.
For
that
price
point,
we
were
definitely
slightly
more
critical
in
the
overall
experience
than
we
usually
would
be,
because
I'm
sure
there
are
a
few
other
spots
that
we
could
go
to
easily.
Food
is
good,
don't
get
me
wrong.
Some
reviewers
mentioned
fresh
air
flown
ingredients,
but
to
me
it
should
be
part
and
parcel
of
all
omakase
offerings
these
days.
For
us,
there
were
some
items
(especially
cooked
dishes)
where
you'd
question
the
balance,
and
then
question
whether
it's
you
or
them
(when
in
such
places
it
should
be
a
more
straightforward
interpretation
of
yes
or
no).
Also
when
you
look
at
the
overall
meal
flow,
there
were
slightly
too
many
cooked
food
dishes
for
my
liking,
prepared
behind
the
scenes;
which
overpowered
the
raw
items,
prepared
in
front
of
you.
I
personally
prefer
places
where
the
main
chef
runs
the
omakase,
but
Ishi
runs
a
multiple
chef
approach.
I'm
not
sure
if
it's
an
intended
business
decision,
or
a
function
of
manpower
challenges.
Quality
control
definitely
will
be
challenged,
where
you'd
also
question
the
accolades
of
2018-2020
era
vs
now.
They're
good
chefs,
I'm
just
not
sure
how
they'd
maintain
their
sustenance
on
experiences,
with
so
many
new
competition
challenging
them
in
the
omakase
space.
One
thing
though,
service
here
is
definitely
stellar.
You
get
constant
attention
from
the
polite
and
courteous
server,
who
speaks
both
Japanese
and
English,
topping
up
our
sake
throughout
the
evening.
The
chef
serving
us
that
evening
was
quite
funny.
I
can't
quite
bear
to
give
it
a
3
star,
but
it
does
fall
in
the
middle
of
3
to
4
for
me.
Simply
because
at
that
price
point,
I've
seen
and
tasted
better
around
the
island.
