The price to value ratio, especially up against the many other top omakase spots in Singapore, was a little off. We had 2x Ran sets and a 360ml sake, and the bill was close to 1k SGD. For that price point, we were definitely slightly more critical in the overall experience than we usually would be, because I'm sure there are a few other spots that we could go to easily. Food is good, don't get me wrong. Some reviewers mentioned fresh air flown ingredients, but to me it should be part and parcel of all omakase offerings these days. For us, there were some items (especially cooked dishes) where you'd question the balance, and then question whether it's you or them (when in such places it should be a more straightforward interpretation of yes or no). Also when you look at the overall meal flow, there were slightly too many cooked food dishes for my liking, prepared behind the scenes; which overpowered the raw items, prepared in front of you. I personally prefer places where the main chef runs the omakase, but Ishi runs a multiple chef approach. I'm not sure if it's an intended business decision, or a function of manpower challenges. Quality control definitely will be challenged, where you'd also question the accolades of 2018-2020 era vs now. They're good chefs, I'm just not sure how they'd maintain their sustenance on experiences, with so many new competition challenging them in the omakase space. One thing though, service here is definitely stellar. You get constant attention from the polite and courteous server, who speaks both Japanese and English, topping up our sake throughout the evening. The chef serving us that evening was quite funny. I can't quite bear to give it a 3 star, but it does fall in the middle of 3 to 4 for me. Simply because at that price point, I've seen and tasted better around the island.

One of the best omakase I have taken. They are more of the traditional ones where they use charcoal to burn the sushi for better taste. My wife and I shared 2 different sets and it blown us away. The sushi was fresh, uni rice bowl and charcoal taste made it special. The chef was friendly and made all our sushi with charcoal as we requested for it. We will definitely be back again on special occasions.

Exquisite sushi Omakase. By head chef Naka. Summer selection 2023. Opted for their Botan set + special rice bowl. Works of art. Tastes of gold. Fantastic service. Hot green tea is frequently replaced to ensure consistent temperature — nice touch. Lunch option provides better value. Don’t miss their “special rice bowl”. Otherwise, order for me and I will it “Grab” it from you — thank you!

Amazing omakase with fresh seafood. Interesting flavour profiles and the chef was amazing in timing the dishes. There was also just the right amount of conversation with the chef describing each dish and origin, then leaving us to savour the dishes. Overall 5/5

Visited Ishi for the first time on Friday 19th November Dinner. We opted for the Suzuran menu at $195 per pax and we brought our own sake (+$40 corkage) Having tried many high end Japanese restaurants in Singapore I must say I was delighted by the experience at Ishi. The quality and freshness of the ingredients is exceptional. I enjoyed the more traditional style compared to other Japanese Omakase. Chef Suzuki-san is very professional and explain all the fishes names and origins. The staff is very attentive. We were seated in the small room which i found very cosy with a nice true Japanese atmosphere, having Chef Suzuki-san preparing all the dishes in this room. Quantity and quality is totally acceptable for the price point. I will come back and i highly recommend

Having heard many good reviews of Ishi, I managed to make a reservation for lunch over the weekend. True to all the positive things I heard/read, I enjoyed every bit of the meal and it was a really good experience. Service was attentive without being overbearing and sitting by the counter was great as we got to observe the chefs work their magic. We enjoyed every course and will definitely be coming back again!

Love the experience here for the incredibly fresh ingredients, lovely service and calm ambiance. Firstly the food - a more traditional approach compared to some other fine Japanese restaurants, but executed with the highest standards using air-flown seasonal ingredients. Every course was delicious and beautiful. Most Japanese fine dining places serve pretty traditional desserts like fruit, ice cream, mochi - this one was no exception! We had honeydew and warabimochi - simple and yummy! The chef announces each dish with such pride, you’d want to taste it with reverence :) He gives efficient explanations and doesn’t dwell to chat but will answer any question with gusto. The service is attentive and discrete - you’ll never find your sake glass empty!

I loved this place. I was there with a few friends and we all were happy with the service and the food. The food was excellent and the quality was just top notch. The chef prepared our set menu in a way that it was satisfying and perfectly balanced. We went home feeling satisfied but not over-stuffed. It was an elegant experience.

Celebrated my fiancee's birthday at Ishi and ordered the Kaede set. This was without a doubt the best sushi restaurant that I've been to in Singapore. Everything is done to highlight the freshness of the ingredients, and getting to see the chefs work their magic with incredible precision was a sight to behold. Besides the food, the service was also excellent - very attentive without being intrusive, and my fiancee got an extra dish + a special birthday dessert. The only very minor complaint I have is the lack of music, which may help improve the overall ambiance. All in all, if you're looking for top tier sushi in Singapore, this is definitely a place you can't miss!

What a privilege to be able to dine here and enjoy the experience provided by the chefs. All dishes was amazing, especially the miso soup (one of the best miso soups i have ever drank in my life). The attention to detail for everything makes you feel pampered. Definitely come here if you’re looking for an omakase experience in Singapore.

I always have a wonderful time at Ishi. Through the changes in their head chef, the essence of Ishi remains! Both lunch and dinners are flavourful and each bite packs a punch! My definite go to!

First visit and I’m definitely loving it already. If you preferred authentic traditional omakase, this is the place! Very great service from the chef and waitress.

Lunch sets start at S$90++, which in the context of post-COVID price inflation, are reasonably value for money.

Great food and excellent service. A good variety of different fish, and served in a very quiet setting. Will definitely return.
