Lunch at noon was not too long a wait as we had prior reservations for indoor seating. Our party comprised overseas visitors and everyone was happy with the food quality and time needed to serve. A couple of minus points though: lobster was over cooked resulting in meat being too chewy and understaffed so every time we pressed the service bell on the table or raised our hands to make a request, response was a couple of beats slow Other than that, we will be back for more

Had such a great meal here … terrific chili crab as usual, plus the cereal prawns were amazing … and the seafood fried rice. Basically it was all awesome. Super attentive staff to boot!

We were being ushered to the VIP room and was served by Cindy, love the meticulous and wonderful service provided by her. The food was great, we had the Alaska crab, mud crab and many other dishes. The VIP room has got great sound proofing. Highly recommend the crabs and bamboo clams

Food was great. Menu had quite a large variety. I think we were one of the few customers who didn't order any shellfish due to allergies. However my entire family enjoyed the meal very much. Enjoyed it so much forgot to take more photos lol

Just had my birthday lunch here with friends. Surprisingly staff gave a private room to us 🤩 Food was good as usual though crabs are only available for size 900g. Crab 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😋 With my birthday voucher 100 off, the meal cost around $250 which still expensive but I feel it’s worthy. Btw, the Dempsey outlet just upgraded, nice design ☺️

Visited on 30 Dec 2023, Sat evening. Food is very good. Chilli crab sauce is sweet and savory; totally not spicy at all. Staff and service were basically on point, with plate and bin replacements, water refills etc. For some reason, the default water is warm to lukewarm instead of the usual ice water (maybe cos a lot of old customers?). Mantou is 80cents/pc, which is decently priced compared to everything else. Prices are too expensive though; we easily hit $100/pax.. Paywave is available (for miles chasers requiring contactless payment)

If you can order 4 food and drinks for 155SGD, it seems like a reasonable price. The chili crab is really good, and I'll definitely go back when I visit Singapore again. One disadvantage is the lack of English language skills of the employees.

Without the 50% discount not sure if coming would’ve been worth it. Lobster prepared 2 ways: sashimi/hotpot and head into paofan. For 2+kg king crab and cooked 3 different ways, it was pretty satisfying. The body was cooked like 60% in chilli crab and 40% in white pepper but we thought it’ll be 50% each 😥. White pepper is nicer imo. Their mantous are amazing!!!!! Soft and hot and pillowy yet crispy!! Interesting thing I noticed: their shell bin bucket has been wrapped in many plastic layers so that it’s easy to wrap and throw the shells when the bucket is full as opposed to clearing it and then relayering the bin constantly

The waitress trying to put us next to store with dirty floors and no air conditioning. Expensive place with bad service. I love the East Coast Jumbo but definitely not here. Chili 🌶 Crab is small.

Food... definitely two Thumbs-up!!! The server who waited my table was very gentle and nice. He tried to recommend the proper portion of food for me. However, the receptionist/host of the restaurant was very rude and hostile for the customers. She thinks herself as a master of the others. No greetings or smile without welcoming atmosphere. I spent nearly S$400 but the host deducted one star from my review!

Service is disappointing giving that this is at Dempsey hill. Staffs are not attentive. Nevertheless I come here for their award winning chilli crab and mocha pork ribs. Those are the must have items to order

Had dinner with 2 friends and ordered crispy baby squid, tofu, vegetables and mee goreng. The food tasted good but the bill came up to more than SGD100, which is a little pricey. Ambience was ok albeit a little humid outdoors. Commendable is the service and the good temperament of lady attendant who served us.

We went yesterday (day 2 of CNY). Service is surprisingly good & fast for a busy day! Our server Nina has good initiative, is fast & is very friendly. The manager Alan handled my dad’s requests very well. We are thankful to Alan for making my dad happy. Here’s some photos of the food I ate at Jumbo Dempsey over the years. All dishes are good. Also very consistent over the 20 years my family visited their various outlets.

Food was tasty definitely cooked without MSG.. wasn’t thirsty after the meal ! Although it was hot weathered sitting outside it was fine at evening. Fish was delicious flavored with sauce! Forgot to take photo of it! 😂. Would come again another time

The food and service were good, but the place to eat was next to the parking lot, so we ate with smoke. If this is going to be the case, at least implement front parking. This absolutely needs to be improved.

The food is good but on a pricey side. I can't complain about the location and ambience. Service could be improved though, many servers looking around but only attend to our table to serve tea and clean the mini bin only after being called. I would expect better for a place like this.

The chilli crab is legendary and highly recommended, we also had tiger prawns and baby squid with crunchy noodles and garlic cooked green vegetables, all cooked perfectly

Being a foreigner i was advised that it is a must try place, this visited this restaurant. I liked the ambience and we had a rotating table which was very helpful usually when we order as a group. The signature dish or the award winning chilli crab was great. I had ppl from us as well who managed the spice level and the experience of crab for the first time. The sweet buns were good that go with fish curry.

Good and prompt service. The black pepper crab was excellent as usual. The steamed lobster was succulent. We also had the braised spinach in 3 kinds of eggs, scallop with yam and roast chicken. All good. Yum!

Tried jumbo seafood but without much seafood as my old folks couldn't handle crab due to jaw injury etcetera. Surprisingly the meal was still great. Star of the show was the chicken which was roasted to perfection and fish (which was expensive but I won't be cooking it at home anytime soon so I didnt mind paying). Bacon roll prawns were nice too. Vegetables and fried rice were decent. Man tou and chilli crab sauce was disappointing as the man tou isn't really man tou. And the portion was abysmally small. All in all, not bad. 7.25/10 overall.

Food quality is always consistently GREAT particularly the Chili Crab as well as the Mee Goreng. Their lobsters vermicelli looks great too but we didn't order. Probably next time.

Amazing crabs here, always have to order the chilli crab and black pepper crab. Be prepared to get messy whilst eating this. Overall atmosphere was good, but I think there are some waiters who spoke minimal English, a little bit tricky at times when we asked for extra plate/plate swap for the crab shells.

It is a famous restaurant in Singapore for the Crab lover. Chill Crab is one of the most Singapore signature dishes that you must try when you are visiting Singapore. Cereal Prawns is my favourite one. Seafood is very fresh. The prices have been very high and have been up almost double price since I have been last time. The service here is not that good. The atmosphere is not as good as the Riverside one.

Good quality food and good professional service! For 2 people, they suggested 800g chilli crab. It was a good size for us! (We went to another smaller competitor restaurant where we ordered 1kg chilli crab but it turned out to be much smaller !) All the jumbo branches we have been to have maintained their good standards. It’s really better than many of their competitor restaurants for chilli crab! 👍well done

Very decent food and atmosphere. Standout was the beef with black pepper sauce. Rice was also cooked to perfection.

First time in Jumbo Dempsey Hill. We had live Boston lobster braised with glass vermicelli sha cha sauce and deshelled prawns fried with cereal. The food was amazing as always and the sercice was superb. Cindy was so friendly and kept checking us to make sure we enjoy the meal. Highly recommend!

Good location but be prepared difficult to get taxi at the restaurant. They limit you 2hrs for dining but the waiting time for the dishes already 30-45min. Sitting outdoors a little hot without fan.

Absolute a great place to enjoy sumptuous seafood dishes. This time I went for the famous Singaporean Chilli Crab & the Herbal Drunken Prawns. It was a heavenly dinner paired with a jug of Tiger beer.

Very popular spot. The best chili crab authentic you can get in Singapore huge portions.

Good service by Nguyen Thi Le Quyen. Vip room was comfortable with privacy. Lamb was rather fatty and small portion. The mud crabs were abit small. On a whole, very pleasant service and as usual food quality was good. Keep it up!

About 10 to 15 mins from Orchard Road. Got a table within 10 minutes during weekdays. Pleasant ambiance and delicious food. Highly recommend their award wining crab dish.

it'd better to make a reservation to ensure seat availability. I went twice, once with reservations with indoor seats as requested. another time without reservation, and we got an outdoor seat. Crab and asparagus never fail me. Favourite chilli crab or steam (with chinese wine).

As a visitor to Singapore, the chili crab (mud crab) was one of the best aspects of the trip. I was worried about coming alone, but my waitress made great recommendations and the food was amazing. Cindy went out of the way to teach me how to pick my 800g crab correctly (lol said just eat like you would eat at home, it’s the best) and made sure that I got the deep fried man tou to dip with the soup (amazing).
