Went at 8pm on weekday night and it was crowded. No seats inside so had to seat outside. Ordered the Mango Pomelo Sago, Logan Peach Gum and the Sasame Almond paste. Prices are a bit more expensive than desserts stalls elsewhere. They have another branch at the basement 2 of Chinatown Point which is smaller but fully air conditioned. Next to Daiso and facing Hans Cafe.

I tried the mango shaved ice ($6.50). It's one of the best shaved ice I have eaten! The ice texture is very fine, soft and doesn't melt so quickly. Quite a big portion, so it's best to share. It's on the pricer side compared to other dessert shops but I'll eat this again 💯

Dessert is good. Expect queue during peak hours. Black sesame is not too sweet, and can taste sesame. Rice ball with ginger soup - can taste ginger and not too strong & sweet. The black sesame in the rice ball is silky smooth .. nice. Will surely revisit .

退步了 over the years .. not sure cos they are "too busy" or the taste is make mainly to all the tourist, but will not visit again when there is others shops around... N it is always crowded with Q, even thou service can be fast but not visiting is due to the "standard drop" of those dessert.... their once popular 杨枝甘露 tasted "没心做” feel...

Date of visit: Sat 30 Dec 2023 Time : 9 pm First time here. Found seating in aircon shop for 5 pax. Wanted almond paste and sesame paste but most paste desserts sold out. Desserts are reasonably good. Sat until closing time to chit chat. Around 10.30 pm.

Ah Balling Tang Yuan (SGD $3.20) @ Mei Heong Yuen Dessert. . With a 50-year history behind them, this chain serves reliably decent traditional desserts. . The large glutinous rice balls have pink or white hues to indicate the type of filling within. It's soft and chewy and sticky, and the filling is generous. . The black sesame paste has a coarse creamy texture with an earthy sweet nutty taste, while the peanut paste has a fine chunky texture with a nutty sweet flavour. . The ginger soup tends to the sweet side, with the warming spice notes to complement.

Desserts were served fast and taste wise it's decent. Do take note that it's a very busy store so there isn't much time for you to sit and chat for long. Staff will clear your plates as soon as they notice it has been empty for a while.

Situated at prime location Chinatown, this dessert shop served really decent and authentic Chinese dessert. Love their black sesame paste, so creamy and thick with a nutty aftertaste. Glutinous rice balls in ginger soup was great as well, rice balls were very soft and the fillings tasted awesome. Ginger soup was so spicy, but no comment on this as these days it’s hard to get rich ginger soup.

Heard this dessert shop always long queue. Popped by after our dinner nearby. Was so lucky we didn’t have to queue and got our table right away. You can find almost all of the traditional Chinese desserts here. I personally think itms better than Ah Chew dessert. 4 of us, we ordered 8 items. One each for 4 of us and ordered 4 more for sharing. Like women always say, there is always a room for dessert. No double their desserts are not bad. We ordered ginkgo barley, egg pudding, Bubur chacha, chestnut pudding, coconut pudding, mango roll, othmantus pudding and milk tea ice. I like the othmantus pudding, coconut pudding and mango roll. Total bill is $32.

Nothing more Nothing less, just how a Traditional Dessert place should be,staff are attentive and helpful if you have any question how to order. Fast at cleaning table giving new customers a table to sit. Since it's CNY, they even draw 福 word for my dessert, felt very welcome and Appeciated

The famous dessert shop that is everywhere. The shave ice still smooth and soft as ever. Took ice items because we Malan something very salty. Therefore instead of ordering their hot paste which we normally ordered, we took the cold ice shave. Just a waste the 2 jelly we ordered abit hard today as it exposed to air too long. Today is more of a trip back in the memory lane.

The place is spacious, easy to find. Dessert taste wise I think it's just average. Price is consider affordable. The one I had is Black Glutinous Rice, taste very comforting. The Chocolate Shaved Ice you can taste a bit of milo powder flavor. Mango shaved ice could be more sweeter as in my opinion 😁

One of the traditional places for tong shui. Recommended stuff are usually the pastes but one of the signature cold desserts has to be the mango pomelo. I wanted to order something from the main menu but I saw they had a special menu with 3 items and decided to order one of them: bobo chacha. Turned out not sure if I should praise or complain. The bobo chacha tasted like very thick coconut milk without any sweetness. Would be good if were to think its no sugar but would be so strange it's not sweet at all for a dessert. The chunks of yam inside is also not soft enough like the sweet potato, hence the overall dessert was quite a flop. Orh nee was good, it was thick and sweet. Nothing to complain about the mango pomelo. This place seemed to be less crowded now and the staff were quite serious walking around to ensure the safe distancing was enforced. A bit strange it was so much less noisy and packed as before.

Great place for shaved ice desserts (with or without jellied fruits). A little pricey ($7-12) but good experience overall (service, ambiance, quality, variety, etc.). Even after so many years, they have maintained the consistency in quality. Very smooth and delicious ice (lime flavour in the picture)!

I am only in Singapore for 1 night and went for a wander for good eats in Chinatown. And I found this place and was surprised as it looked like Taiwanese shaved ice, not something I was expecting in Singapore. I chatted with the owner, she said it's legit. Her husband is Taiwanese and they even import their ingredients directly from Taiwan. It tasted as like home (I grew up in Taiwan). A family business of 22 years and it looks like it is going strong! Definitely drop in to try out the Taiwanese, Hong Kong, and Singaporean desserts lah!

An old school dessert place in heart of Chinatown serving up Chinese styled desserts. They are most notably known for their shaved ice and peanuts. The ices come in a myriad of flavors and aren't overly sweet. They've got other things aside from shaved ice such as dessert soups and even pan fried turnip cake! Their famous peanuts can be bought to go at the cashier and I bought quite a few bags myself!

Spacious air conditioning restaurant. Plenty of desserts to choose from. Spoiled for choice. Hot Desserts served were really HOT... nice and just the way we likes it. Not too sweet. Service was fast. Looking forward to visit them again.

Place is very popular with tourist. Always busy but the turnaround is usually fast. Had the sesame-almond shave ice and the steam milk pudding. Their desserts are not sweet which is good but also less fulfilling if you have a sweet tooth. The steam milk pudding was firm. Not the type that is soft and semi-liquid type.

Recommend mango ice in safe choice. For me, red bean lotus and rice cake menu are good since those remind me a hometown. Only cash can be paid. Tables are very close each other. Crowded even there is many tables in the diner. Had to reserve the seats first and go to the counter to order.

One of the best chendol in Singapore. During our 4 days Singapore visit, we came here everyday and we could only had 3 chendol dishes. One dessert was around 6-8 Singapore 🇸🇬 dollars.

The restaurant tends to be busy. The Chinese desserts are decent, but not exceptional. You might want to try some of the more highly-regarded Chinese dessert places in Vietnam.

Owner is really friendly. Desserts are all good and fair price. Store is clean. Unfortunately I couldn't try dumpling :( See you in Vietnam auntie 🥰

📷 Mango Ice ($6.50) Milk Tea Ice 🥓 2nd time visiting the store. Did not have much expectations for the Mango Ice because I'm not really a mango person in the first place but it was surprisingly good. There were both sweet and sour mangoes. 🕙 No waiting time as we went slightly earlier than when it'll be crowded. But soon after the store quickly got crowded. 🤑 Nowadays desserts are probably priced around this range, affordable if you are sharing the desserts with a group of friends and looking for a place to stay and chit chat.

Tasty shaved ice dessert so fine it doesn't melt easily. Priced is quite on the high side like good restaurants.

Wide range of hot and cold desserts at this local joint. Love their peanut paste and their shaved ice desserts.

Wonderful experience here ! It’s very traditional desserts sold here. Hot and cold! Ice and Nice ! Started out on the 1970s and to a shophouse in temple street. Kept the classics alive and some modern twist to cater to the new generation. Black sesame dessert - intense and flavourful. Mango pomelo - so-so average. Grass jelly drink - above average.

One of my favourite places for authentic local desserts. My favourites are the pumpkin cake, rice roll, walnut paste and chocolate shaved ice. Prices have gone up though. $7 for a chocolate shaved ice seems pricy. Service is efficient and food is certainly tasty.

Probably one of the best thing one can dig into in this blistering hot weather. The shaved ice had a soft and pillowy texture while the black sesame flavour comes true with every bite; I also enjoyed the additional flavour and texture which the soft and slightly sweet red beans brought into the dish, and its portion was really generous too. This shop is usually packed but I guess I got lucky today. Definitely one of my go-to places for a bowl of satisfying dessert.

Dessert in it’s traditional way, had the steamed egg without ginger, yam cake, glutinous rice and durian moose. All taste good 👍🏻, chilli is spicy, sweet sauce is thick n adds on to the yam cake taste!

This is a forever popular spot in Chinatown and my go to dessert place if I am craving for something sweet in Singapore. The signature here is snow ice with different topping, the ice itself is so soft , fine and creamy blended with condensed milk. I like to top up with mango, if you would like to try for something a bit more adventurous and exotic , go for soursop. I also want to mention the unnoticed hidden gem in this place is actually the traditional Cantonese style dessert like steam milk jelly and etc, so flavorful and good , strongly recommend all of you to have a try.

Great sesame glutinous rice balls with very spicy ginger soup. Mango snow ice was alright, tasted of quite artificial mango taste though.

  • 5/5 Pauline W. 9 months ago on Google
Desserts a flavourful yet not overly sweet. The savoury items such as rice dumplings and 3-flavours of steamed rice cakes are good too.

Tried different desserts here, favourite one is peanut paste and mango roll. Seen a lot of people ordering g cold dessert but I didn't try. Price wise is ok for what it is. Old style and buzzing with locals coming to satisfied their local dessert cravings.

I love the retro feel of this place and although some may find this place a little pricey some of their desserts could be had for as little as $4, so a little for everyone here! They also have a ton of shaved iced choices!

one of the places that I always visit when I'm in Singapore, because I like the ice. shaved ice with various flavors similar to bingsu from korea. this time I ordered mango and lychee flavour. fresh and delicious to eat during the day. costs S$8, with a large portion that is perfect for sharing

I wholeheartedly endorse their chendol dessert; it truly stood out for our entire table. The infusion of coconut flavor into their velvety shaved ice was a delectable sensation. What impressed us even more was the ingenious presentation of the palm sugar syrup on the side, allowing us to tailor the sweetness to our preference using the convenient squeeze bottle. The ordering process was a breeze – simply choose your table and inform them of the table number when placing your order. The service, impressively swift, added to the overall enjoyable experience.

Heard so much about this Chinese dessert cafe, we tried it last evening. We ordered durian cream, almond cream, peach gum white fungus and aboling in ginger soup. Overall it’s quite good, but the staff seemed grouchy, it’s a place to just eat and go, comfort level is B-minus.

  • 4/5 K. C. 9 months ago on Google
The dessert is good but the shop is seat is not comfortable so it will be suitable for grab-and-go meals. But the taste is good and unique, you should try when you are in China Town. Tip: come after 11am and before 9pm. They will close from 9:30pm
