From the marbled steps to the Victorian architecture, what’s there not to like about this historical building! From the outside your eyes are greeted by a classic monolithic stone vintage look from colonial times. On the inside a classy modern contemporary feel of soft insides and wooden paneling (the theatre). The toilet design in itself is already something of an artist enigma and it prepares the mind for the shows you’re about the enjoy within the theatre. What a beautiful theatric venue to stage shows! My favourite one in Singapore!

If you are willing to see and/or are interested in the singapore symphony orchestra, this is a must visit place. You can recognize at once that it is elegant and beautiful, and this historical place has been very well maintained. Further, you can stroll along as a visiter. There is a ticket office on the 1st floor(for U.K. ground floor). For your information, don't forget to download your e-ticket in advance. I thought singapore people were lucky to have this historical concert hall and theater. It is your ancestor's one of great achievements. Enjoy.

World class concert hall! The architecture is so well suited to classical music with it's richness and grandeur- massive columns, beautiful marble staircase and the plush and comfortable seats The acoustics are amazing and one could hear the softest sounds as well as the deep bass with excellent clarity. It is a wonderful all round experience!

Photography Paradise: Victoria Concert Hall Victoria Concert Hall stands out as a captivating haven for photography enthusiasts. The exterior of this iconic venue serves as a picturesque backdrop, offering an array of stunning visual elements that make it an ideal spot for capturing memorable photographs. During my visit, I was immediately struck by the architectural grandeur of Victoria Concert Hall. The intricate details, timeless design, and the historical charm of the building create a captivating scene that begs to be photographed. From the intricate carvings to the elegant façade, every angle provides a unique perspective for those with a keen eye for aesthetics. While I must admit that my exploration was confined to the exterior, the experience was nonetheless rewarding. The surroundings and ambiance of Victoria Concert Hall make it an excellent location for a photoshoot, even for those who, like me, haven't ventured inside. The external beauty of this cultural gem offers a visual feast for photographers seeking an enchanting backdrop, making it a must-visit destination for anyone with a passion for capturing the essence of architectural splendor.

Beautiful and quaint performance venue You can get great views of the atrium higher up on the second floor There's an installation feature on the same level that is made with the recycled seat backrest from the old venue, it's definitely worth checking out. The area boasts clear views of MBS skyline too

A very nice theater conveniently located near museums and the downtown area. It's very easy to get picked up and dropped off via car here. The auditorium we were in had seats that were nicely spaced and comfortable. Definitely a good place to see performances.

Attended the Singapore Symphony Orchestra babies proms today. There was the illusion that children could be themselves and enjoy and move with the music. But it is further from the truth. The photo below is just an example of how my family was treated unfairly by the member of staff. At the start, my son who is under 2 got excited when the music started and wanted to go nearer to the stage to dance and clap. He did not attempt to climb the stage. He... Well danced laughed clapped and walked. A lady by the name of Lee Gek told us to restraint him and try to keep him in our seats. So we tried and all parents know that when you restraint an active boy, you get a tantrum. It's not something you can discipline into a 1 plus year old. Then we realised that Lee gek was picking on our family for whatever reason I could not understand as later, when the children warmed up, they did as children do. Danced, clapped and marched. But she chose to stare at our family seemingly ready to pounce and restrain him for being an over enthusiastic toddler. If I knew it was not to be young children friendly, I would not have brought him. It was an embarrassing experience and any form of marketing that marketed it as interactive and allowing children to be up close to the music and enjoy and dance with the music is just a ruse. Apparently being the first child to stand and dance is against it's ground rules but perfectly acceptable when everyone else warms up.

Attended the Candlelight: Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake string quartet and ballet performance here. The venue was conveniently located and I was able to have a good front view in the Zone A seating arrangement. Ushers were welcoming and were efficient in not letting in latecomers in the middle of a performance. Overall, I enjoyed the experience of watching the string quartet although the dance was incomparable to that of a Russian ballet company.

I have many fond memories of this concert hall and its surroundings, always feel nostalgic when I come here. From my junior college years to now, it's been more than 30 years, yet it still stands tall and beautiful like it was only yesterday.

I don’t know if they have a daily small performance for tourists but this is a good place to take photo. As I had joined the visiting tour with a very small orchestra performance and building intro session in palau de la música catalana which is located at Spain👀

Went for a candlelight concert in guzheng. enjoy the tunes for its contemporary with popular pieces from famous love serials and with traditional instruments. Love the combination; ambience could even be better if more candles could be placed among the empty social distancing seats.

Went for the Clock Tower Climb and it is certainly an experience not to be missed. Guides Zubir and Amber were knowledgeable about the history of VTVCH and the tour was well paced, with our group reaching the top just in time to hear the bells chime. Definitely would recommend.

Nice and cosy with great acoustics. The building was built in the early 1900s and was restored and reopened in 2014. You can go there to appreciate the neo classical majestic structure and architecture there while attending a SSO concert. The concert hall has a grand pipe organ too but I’ve yet to attend a concert that uses it till date. This concert hall is much smaller than Esplanade Concert Hall which boasts a more modern structure with better acoustics.

One of the most chill places in the country. I would always come back here just to sit in this green field, enjoy a snack and witness a variety of events that would be ongoing all year long. This place has always something to keep you coming back. Whether it’s a music festival, an art festival or some food truck festival. It is extremely tempting, relaxing and very enjoyable. If you happen to be in Singapore, I hardly recommend to check what would be happening here and not miss the life opportunity of attending it, because they rarely do the same fest twice.

Had a very enjoyable night organized by fever and hosted by Victoria Concert Hall. Very much impressed with the idea and details for candlelight concert. Very satisfied and happy that a concert could have such a beautiful and visually enhancing ambience along with the most fascinating pianist playing all time favourite anime pieces. Very recommended!

I went for the Candlelight Concert - A Tribute to Coldplay on 16/1/22. The concert hall has amazing acoustics despite the fact that I chose the upper deck and was seated at the second last row. The row gave me a beautiful panoramic view of the stage and the simplicity of the setup in which the candles are the main source of light and aesthetics gives intimacy to the performance. Thoroughly enjoyed Sueli's charisma and skillful playing of Coldplay's best hits! Would love to attend more concerts here 😍

Check in was fast and smooth. Sound is good. Seats between rows are not too close, but not alleviated enough so I couldn't see the entire orchestra on stage. Aircon is ok , but can be cold if seated for more than 2 hours.

Victoria Theatre & Victoria Concert Hall is managed by Arts House Ltd. The Victoria Theatre, constructed between 1855 and 1862, is the older of the two buildings. Originally built as a Town Hall, its foundation stone was laid by the Governor of Singapore, Colonel W.J.

The Victoria Concert Hall, built in 1862, is one of the oldest buildings in Singapore and the first choice for many musicians around the world to perform. This year in 2022, VCH has created 2 historical events in the history of Singapore. The first is that one of the world's oldest famous piano C. Bechstein, performed first piano recital here for the first time, by the famous pianist Kit Armstrong. The second record is Sir Stephen Hough, the only famous pianist who has just been knighted by the Queen Elizabeth . He successfully completed 2 performances in the concert hall in 2 days, his solo and piano concerto - Brahms Piano Concerto No 2, a piece known as one of the most difficult songs. He described the beautiful, unique sound of C. BECHSTEIN pianos as somewhere between those of ancient and modern pianos. The success of the concert was widely reported and affirmed by The Straits Times on September 7. At present, many top pianists in Europe have begun to use C. BECHSTEIN , so I look forward to the Singaporean having the opportunity to enjoy Bechstein beautiful and unique sound in the future. I have the privilege of working behind the scenes and documenting this historic moment here.

My very first time joining a performance at the Victoria Concert theatre. The internal concert hall is very cozy and the audio experience is pretty good! Overall quite a small capacity theatre, but I had a great experience just watching the mini-production performance!

There’s something special about VCH’s neoclassical Palladian architecture style that gives it its elegant character. I love especially the Corinthian columns, its symmetrical design, and its façade. Updated 9Mar2023, just attended a beautiful lunchtime concert in this beautiful historical Concert Hall.

(Translated by Google) I only looked at the outside of this theater. It is beautifully located on Esplanade Park next to the other colonial buildings. There are actually 2 buildings and 1 clock tower, which are connected by a common corridor. The history of its origins is interesting and certainly very rare: initially only 1 of the 2 buildings was built and opened as the town hall in 1862. In 1893 this town hall became too small, the need for a large theater and concert hall was great, and the city council moved out. In 1905 a building with the same facade was completed right next to the former town hall, the Victoria Memorial Hall, which served as a theater and concert hall. In order to give the two buildings a common perception as a whole, the 54 m high clock tower and the corridor were added in 1906, which for the first time combined them into a single building. The last major renovation ended in 2014. From the Roof Top Infinity Pool of Marina Bay Sands on the 57th floor you have an indescribable view of the Victoria Theater and its charming, colonial surroundings, see p. Attached photo. Immediately in front of the clock tower is a statue of Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore and British Malaya, on the Empress Lawn by a basin. The Victoria Theater is considered one of the National Monuments.

They have security staff going around telling everyone that picture taking isn t permitted within the internal building. I check the General enquiry and walked around the building for 5 minutes and never saw a sign that says no picture taking. I Don t understand how they apply this policy but I believe they apply the standards in a non consistent manner. Fundamentally if you are here for a event they wouldn t stop you from a selfie within the building but if you are here for a wedding picture they would probably chase you away without the proper guideline or standard. I recommend the management state and enforce the picture taking standard in a consistent manner.
