The hotel location is good, but rooms are small, maybe that's how it is in Singapore. But the hotel service is pathetic. They have just one luggage trolley which the guests have to pull to the room and bring back to the lobby. No service there. The room service is also slow and mostly do not understand basic courtesy especially if travelling with small kids. Further, the worst is the breakfast- the menu is 90percent non vegetarian and does not cater to international standards- for eg they wont serve an omelette, or wont give warm milk for small kids. No tea or coffee. The food preparation, even in case of non veg is pathetic. And breakfast is served in disposable plates. The worst part is, that they remove the buffet strictly at 10am and wont offer even a cup of coffee or bread strictly at 10.00am. Not only this, they switch off the lights at the cafe area even if guests are sitting and guests are told to wrap up in the next two minutes. We were traveling with small kids and it felt as if we were not on vacation but in a hostel mess. A very bad experience at the hotel.

Consider the location at the close end of famous orchard road, i think this hotel offers a good value. Room quite spacious for singapore standard. It’s indeed an old and dated property but it has good amenities and facilities. There is water dispenser in every room, which quite a good deal. Although it has small issue of the heater on the dispenser, the maintenance comes with a quick solution. The front desk lady that greet us when we do check-in is friendly and nice. The downside is their carpeted room and alley. Not a fan of that, as it collects dust and dirt. Overall, We had a pleasant stay.

Early check in is possible. The check in time was 3 pm, but we arrived at 1 pm and we're permitted to check in. I had a room with a hot shower and bathtub. There were 2 towels and 2 little towels. There were hairdryer and iron too. The amenities were completely good. The bed had wheels to move it, so my daughter could possibly have ballet practice here. For the cleaning service, they knocked our room at 11 am. But because we're not ready yet, my husband told the cleaning staff to wait for 10 minutes before we left. Unfortunately, the room were not cleaned 😢 I don't know maybe the cleaning staff forgot. But we're okay because we left not so much trashes in the room. However, we had a quiet good experience staying here ❤

We are a group of 6 so we booked 3 rooms and none of the room were in a working order. The first room had a problem with blinking lights so within the first minutes of check in we already had to call the maintenance guy to fix the light. On the second and third room we had issues with the TVs didn't work, the bathroom door on the third was stuck and can not be slide close fully so there is a 15 cm gap for the whole world to see you doing your bathroom businesses. The peak of everything was when we came back to the hotel after a long day sightseeing the rooms weren't being done or not entirely being done. The tea bags weren't replaced and TVs weren't working so when I picked the phone to ring the receptionist NO ONE answer the phone??!!!!! So I had to drag myself to go downstairs to ask for the tea bag so I can finally have a good rest. These issues were quickly resolve after complaining at the receptionist however the following day, there still isn't anyone attending the phone. Special mention to the other quests on the same floor as us and who wer SUPER LOUD! Playing music on full blast and talking on the hotel hall but the hotel seems to be lacking of staffs to handle these issues. I even saw dried vomit in the lifts area that stayed overnight, disgusting!! This is a 3 stars hotel in SINGAPORE!! WE EXPECT WAY BETTER SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE THAN THIS! I give credit to its location and its price which is considered reasonable but still not cheap (@$140/night/room) as well as the fact the room is well soundproofing however I wouldn't go back here if I have to pay for that price again. Total disappointment.

A great location but that’s all it has as going for it. We would not recommend it. The bed was hard and too short, the room was very dirty, the air conditioner was mouldy. The rooftop pool has a great view but is surrounded by air conditioner motors so definitely NOT relaxing. The service was below average, the other guests have zero respect for anyone else.

As a base to look around Singapore it's ideally located. Rooms are dated and seem dark but very clean. Breakfast is very much on the Asian variety, but you can find something. Only here for 3 nights so it's usable. If we were here longer I'd want more.

Now I understand that there are check-in and check-out times for all hotels. Although as a seasoned traveler, I find all hotels tend to sway the rules depending on how they are placed. This hotel is point blank, "Must wait until 3pm". Only one person at reception, so you can imagine the queues come 3pm. The reception area was full of people waiting to get checked in at midday and luggage everywhere blocking the ground floor. Imagine the crowd come 3pm? I wasn't feeling terribly well so the girl at reception eventually checked me in at 12.45pm. I did appreciate this, but I still don't find the need for such strict rules. My room was better than I'd thought from previous reviews, with a nice leafy view. If I find out that the hotel has change such strict check-in rules, I would happily stay here again. If I keep rereading about the hard core check-in rules, I'll stay elsewhere.

Had a wonderful experience. Room was upgraded to premium even though I was early an hour. Check in was super smooth and fast. Customer officer was friendly. Room was clean and neat. There was water dispenser for drinking. Both hot and cold. Bed was queen sized, shower, locker, iron and cloth hangers are available. WIFI password can be found at the TV screen at home menu on the right side. Nearby are many shopping malls and food places. Thank you.

Room was OK but nothing special. Had to get room key cards reset and door lock fixed during stay. Water unit only gave warm water, not chilled. Not elderly person friendly bathroom. Some lights in room did not work. A microwave oven would be a good addition.

Awful place. If it's for work maybe you can survive the couple of days you need to stay there for, but anyone coming for pleasure I'd highly recommend finding other accommodations. Here's a few cons to consider -Actively monitoring to see who's going to your room -No fitness center -Service line never provides the things you need. I asked for soap so many times, it will literally take an hour before someone goes to help you. If you must stay here you'll survive. But for the price it was a highly unpleasant experience.

The room is fairly small. I got into two beds room and those beds are not ideal for those who move around a lot during their doozie off. Water is not problem and the room is clean. Breakfast didn’t look appetizing but it is acceptable. No trolley or helping staff for caring luggage.

Just awful. I have stayed at a lot of hotels but this one I could not even stay in for longer then a few hours. Mould everywhere! Room dirty, even took my own antibacterial wipes to wipe down surfaces and dirt was coming up on everything including shower. Do not stay here.

One of the worst stay ever. Rooms were old and small size. No Room service. Breakfast served like prison food chucked everything in 1 plate. Staffs were not friendly at all. The only good thing about this place is the check in/out was smooth and the location. Nothing else to shout about. Not worth the price you pay at all. Just add in another $50-$100 to get better hotel.

Good location around town area. For price wise, considered decent for a short night stay. However , the bathroom was small and the water heater was not working. Strong smell of paint outside our room as they are doing some works .

All best of the brands showrooms are at walking distance from the hotel. Bugis is less than 2km. However other attractions might not be at walkable distance. Big thumbs up for providing water purifier in the room.. Breakfast could be improved to cater beyond fried rice and noodles each day. Water melon was the only fruit option on all days

Rooms were good, maybe it's abit older than modern hotel but for the price i cannot ask for more. I also liked the fact they have a washing machine and dryer downstairs to do laundry as we stayed there for 2 weeks. location very convenient. Came as a couple and I would love to stay here again .

We reserved a Deluxe Room for two nights, we were amazed by how large and comfortable our room are. In addition, the room was extremely clean. The receptionist on the front desk are really kind and helpful. Impressed with the facilities this hotel has. I will definitely come back here for another staycation at Hotel Chancellor @Orchard.

Highly recommended hotel to stay in Singapore. It's in the orchard road area , water dispensers available in every room so that we will get hot water for drinking any time. Well maintained and it's very clean.

Rooms clean, but utilities not 100%. My shower pipe was leaking so water pressure decrease a lot. Location near music bar, until midnight i still can hear them and i was on 9th fl. They provide slippers, unlimited drinking water from purifier, additional pillow, soap, but no shampoo, location is perfect near Orchard Central and Somerset MRT.

The only positive about this hotel is it's close to Orchard Rd' main shopping centres. Other than that, it's a terrible place. Never been to such a bad hotel in overral like this one. Dark, old, dirty, shabby, noisy, overcrowded, bad customer service, unprofessional. Nowhere near the photos they show. I can smell mould in the carpet. Bedding and bathroom are low standard and not washed properly. Skipped all breakfast as i did not trust the hygene.

Surely it’s not a five star. Maybe not even 3 stars but the price and locations will make you feel like at least 4 star. Honestly this may be one of those hotels “ladies at night” do their business. As I walked in the hotel, a girl almost half naked was smoking out side the hotel. And as I stepped in the elevator, a young girl with black underwear came out the lift. Hummmm.

Located at a very convenient place for shopping and restaurants. The Hotel has basic facilities and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is a standard menu with a few changes sometimes. The staff is polite and attends to requests promptly. Wish the reception area looked more attractive and lively with a few healthy looking nice green plants.🌿🙂

I was shocked to experience the worst counter service a hotel can offer with low English speaking ability. No smile and allow guest to cut my queue when l check in. All my room request like double bed are not fulfilled and they ask me to move the bed MYSELF. The only 'request' fulfilled and tell me on my face was 'no breakfast for you.' However, the backend staff like the housekeeping and technician are nice and look more like front desk staff than the counter staff. Please if possible do not book this hotel even if it is cheap. Remember services is very critical when you have problems with your stay. A say no hotel will make you cry when you are in need.

Great place to stay for your vacation. Spacious rooms which are well designed having ambient storage space. Well maintained premises with adequate facilities and a multi cuisine restaurant.

Location - close to everything but be aware that you’re in a location with lots of clubs and questionable people walking around at nights, loud music can be heard on the forth floor all night. We saw a lot of the hostesses come into the hotel to use their toilets. Service - Really nice staff who accommodated to our needs and the housekeeping ladies were really lovely Rooms - When we first arrived we were given what could only be described as the worst room in the building, the type of room that looked like it would belong in a seedy love motel. It was a room in the corner on the forth floor facing out to the Holiday Inn and you could hear the clubs music all night. The room smelt of mould - most of the rooms smell of mould. It was so bad that I was coughing all night and couldn’t sleep. The bathroom had a glass door that was facing the bed, there was a part of it that was frosted so you could see from your bed when someone was sitting on the toilet. The door didn’t close properly so again you could hear and see and smell everything from the bathroom. The bathroom sink was missing the plug so you could see all the gunk down the drain. The fridge wasnt working either. I was wondering what the hell I had booked when I entered this room. I got up at 6am because I couldn’t sleep and went to speak to receptionist about all the issues and no questions asked they changed our room to a much more pleasant room. In saying that I still smells of mould although not as bad and the bathroom was slightly better. This hotel isn’t luxurious, what you’re paying for is the location. Lots of tour groups stay here so it’s very busy and nosy at times. The entire time we stayed here we saw at least 8 massive tour groups checking in. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

Affordable place and you are in Orchard. Pool was nice and long - 25 mtrs atleast. Location was the best. Everything you need are nearby. Rooms comes with towels , drinking water dispenser, tooth brush,. … Its a 3 star no frills hotel. I would stay here again. Now, if Im to say what they can improve on…. Here it is: 1. Provide extra towels if guest ask for it 2. Do qlty checking to make sure all things inside the room are working like lights, ref etc 3. Vacuum the carpet well and shampoo it once a month 4. Have sm1 chek on pool cleanliness 😀

Attended a wedding here. The event room was hot 🔥. I don't think anyone adjusted the air conditioning . The chairs were dirty and common bathrooms were not cleaned throughout the event. Common complaints amongst guests were hard-to-find parking.

For SHN, the room is OK. The food delivery timing is not really right. Dinner is at about 5.30 pm, while breakfast about 8 am. Twice found hair in the food. The wi-fi is bad.

This was my 3rd stay here, and this was so far the worst stay so far. Buyer beware for groups wanting to meet in a safe downtown area. Suspected LGBTQIA+ unfriendly staff. Not stated upfront on Agoda page that you can only have 2 main guests + 1 temp guest in the room at all times. Had a group of 4 guests visiting in the room when two hotel staff came to tell us that we had too many people in the room and everyone aside from registered guests had to leave immediately. Although we immediately complied, both staff were not accommodating at all, even when I asked for extra time to allow one of my guests to change out of their clothes before they had to leave. My friends were also heckled by one of the staff even when they were already making a move from the hotel. I am particularly angry because the two staff members knew that guests could have up to 3 people in the room, but still forced everyone out. I will be sure to avoid coming back to the hotel in future and warn others not to stay unless they have no choice.

I have been to Singapore only once, but i wanna talk about pros and cons of this place. Pros: 1. They are located in the middle of orchard 2. Free breakfast and a lot of nearby restaurants 3. Good service especially the indian guy in the lobby minimart. cons: 1. The bathroom wall is attach with a glass on top (it faced towards the bed and you can see through it by climbing up the bed) 2. Noise (I can hear someone moaning walking pass their room💀💀) Yeah that's it, i love this country and it's also my first country i ever travelled to 10/10

Attended relative wedding on afternoon of 28Oct23 . Some attendees experienced a jam near the hotel car park entrance because of one big bus obstructing car park entrance way. Security/car park post unable to trace bus driver & claimed not their responsibility.

Good location for a budget hotel. We stayed overnight here. Good room size with clean and comfortable beds. Staffs were helpful and friendly. Good water pressure but the hot water was unstable.

We had to change 4 rooms in 1 day. Cockroaches in 1 room. Tv did not work in 2nd room. Slipped over in 3rd room because of oil leaking out of door strut. This hotel needs a huge overhaul. Staff were great.

The room is just normal, they provide every basic needs, they have the very good water dispenser which serve cold and hot water. The shampoo they given is usable for both hair and body. Other than all these, the bed is quite comfortable which I slept for 2 nights.

The best location with the best price in town. Rooms inside is newly renovated. But the corridor is very dated. Swimming pool had nice roof top view of Singapore. Perfect night life spot 24/7 and good cafes next door. Beer house nearby. You might not need the room after all!

  • 2/5 Wilson F. 6 months ago on Google
Sub par event management. Unable to resolve simple $5 parking coupon issuance. Front desk area is dated and needs restoration. Staff are polite but lack authority to make decisions. Higher management should really give some discretion on how to manage customers’ genuine concerns. Hotel Chancellor has forgotten what hospitality is.

It was fine. Room is small but good for 2 persons. If you’re just using the hotel as a comfortable base from which to explore the city then it is a good choice as it is close to several metro lines and has a central locatiom within the city. The breakfast buffet has a limited selection and the food was fine, not great but fine. The checkin time is somewhat inconveniet, 3pm, if you're arriving in the city on an earlier flight.

Good location near Orchard area. -Moldy washroom -room smells like mold and moisture -washroom door doesn’t even have a working lock -rude check in staff -dangerous washroom tub when getting out. -room smelt like cigarettes and somehow was is a non smoking hotel.

Solo traveler and I only stayed one night. The room was fine, the shower was better than I expected in terms of water pressure. It did change temperature a couple of times but it wasn't anything too bad. Room stayed cool luckily as it was so hot outside. Good location near Orchard road and close enough to Somerset station. Pretty tired looking hotel that could do with a face lift. Gentlemen at the front desk were nice. I had an 1am flight to London so I had to get the hotel staff to hold my suitcase for the day and I wasn't impressed upon my return of being out all day and ready to go to the airport to find the man who wrote on the tag that morning (whilst leaning on the bag) had left pen marks all over it!!

  • 2/5 Hein F. 1 year ago on Google
Very basic hotel. Good enough for a short stay; just for sleeping and showering. Rooms have the bare minimum: nothing in the mini bar, no shelves in the closest, one european plug in the room. Can tell it used to be a hotel where people could smoke inside. The breakfast hall is very busy and they serve a bare basic buffet breakfast. The hotel caters for large groups of Indi-Asian travellers for one night stays. Rather book the Concorde across the road if you can.

Hotels location/ MRT closeness 9/10 Room was clean and quiet View was awesome, we had the 1018 room that has a view for the highway or some sort of road but yeah it was very good. Glass could have been a bit more clean but it was fine :) Fridge was not cold🤦 only room temperature and I've got told this is how it should be... No it's not. Air conditioner couldn't be controlled, whatever has been set that's what you need to accept. Staff was very friendly and helpful 10/10 A little labelling would be great, we only found out on the second day that coffee and cups were in the drawer 🤦😆 Rooftop pool..... 1/10 Shame on the designer who put all the airconditioner units with no noise reduction. Noise was so high that we barely heard each other. Listening music? Forget about it. That constant noise just killing the chill vibe that you'd like to have after a sweaty day. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

Hotel Chancellor is pretty decent for its price range. Location is great and breakfast is okay as expected of a $13 buffet breakfast. Was concerned about the reviews but overall is pretty good for this price. Just don’t expect 5 star service and food and you will be okay.

It is located at 28 Cavenagh road/Orchard Road. It is a 4 star hotel. The location is good. It is at Orchard Road, a shopping paradise. It has a big lobby. The room is spacious, clean and comfy. Can get here by bus or mrt. It us just a walking distance Others are all good except its water heater dispenser in the room. This hotel provides a water heater dispenser attached to the wall. Through out the stay not able to get the hot water for drinking.

Basic 3-star hotel, decently equipped rooms. Bed was a little too firm for me. Otherwise a great value, especially considering the location. Shopping and food were all in easy walking distance. Bus stops and subway stations are all within 3 minutes walk.

Stayed at this place last week. Affordable stay and quite value for money at the heart of orchard. Room is well kept but slight wear and tear. If you need fuss free accommodation with convenient location and good price I will recommend this place.

I had a really nice room overall. If you're interested in exploring the city, there are plenty of things to see and do near the hotel. For example, you might want to check out the nearby street markets or take a stroll through a nearby park. There are also several restaurants and cafes in the area, so you can easily find a place to grab a bite to eat. If you need help getting around, the hotel staff are very friendly and can give you advice about the best way to get to local attractions. They can also help you book tours or arrange transportation if needed. Overall, I had a great experience staying at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to other travelers.
