Well this hotel would definitely win the Photoshop of the year award as the reality doesn't match the pictures....but it's not going to win the cleanliness award as it's filthy .. a proper little dive ...furniture damaged..I don't just mean scratched and worn I mean broken the front of the bedside cabinet door has been ripped off and is resting against the wall ..the extraction in the shower doesn't switch off and howls like a 747 on take off...had to buy some earplugs it's that bad and it's filthy like everything else ... thankfully only stopping here a couple of nights and won't be sorry to check out ... I've had to give it one star unfortunately as Google sees that as the minimum... personally I feel the scale should include minus for hotels like this !! If your looking to stay in Singapore just give this place a miss !!

One of the worse hotel experiences. The hotel was not clean, some dust or hair are all over the floor, some in bed sheet and toilet. The bed sheet and towel were broken that should have been changed. The toilet/shower not in good condition, many broken parts. The AC duct was full of dirt. The hotel should pay attention to renovating the place and the cleanliness. The room was quite different from the picture and the price we paid was pretty much for this condition eventhhough it was a busy time. Yet could have find similar price level with better hotel conditions.

The rooms we had were not even close to the ones on the pictures. Both rooms without window, Aircondition super loud and one room very dirty (even the bed). Doors are not closing properly so you can hear everything from the floor.

Best location in budget, it was in walking distance to Rochor MRT and Jalan besar MRT, Walking distance to Musthafa , Little India and Bugis shopping centre. Restaurants which were operational 24 hrs. was very nearby. Rooms were ok, cleanliness was also Ok.. Hair dryer, coffee, tea mix, kettle were available. Bathroom has 24 hours hot water facility. Bathrooms stink sometimes. Overall a good experience because we used the room just at night to sleep, the rest of the time we were travelling around. How to reach : Reach Terminal 1/3 Airport MRT Take the MRT to Tana Merah get down and switch to Green line and get down in Bugis ( Don't tap out )"ask for help, you have to walk a bit "switch to (blue line )Downtown line and get down in Rochor MRT. Take a MRT map from the station it is very useful. Tap out and walk to the exit of Perak street. Walk straight in perak street until you see Al- Bismi restaurant take right and you will reach Hotel 81 Dickson.

It's in a great location, near Little India and near jalan besar MRT station. The room is very small. No window at all, so it's pitch dark inside the room unless you have lights on. The bedding and bathroom are clean, but table surfaces are not cleaned. The floor and fittings look old. In-room locker does not work, and there is too little storage spaces. The bathroom is tiny, and there is no space to keep toiletries. Worst of all, there is no separation of the shower area from the washbasin, so after every shower the whole bathroom and even the room floor outside gets wet. There is no bucket or mug in the bathroom, and no bidet by the toilet. The shower water has an odd smell. The room cost me around SGD 100 per night. That's not costly, but still I expected better amenities for the price.

I stayed for 4 nights in this hotel last week for my business trip. The location was easy to find and it's surrounded by many places to eat and easy access to bus stop and MRT. The first time I entered the room it was clean and spacious. The air conditioner worked well and they gave me mineral water bottle everyday. The bathroom has bathtub and simple toiletries, but the toilet doesn't have bidet (my huge problem when visiting Singapore!). There's no any weird smell in the room. Everything's nice. But here's the problem I found out during my stay : 1. I put the "clean my room" tag every morning on my front door when I want to go out. Yes, they did clean my room but I wasn't satisfied enough with the way they make the bed. 2. Yes, indeed they clean my room everyday, but....on the fourth day they didn't clean it at all (the "clean my room" tag still hanging on the door knob) and they didn't give me the mineral water bottle. 3. I never use the electric kettle from the very first day until I want to use it on the last day and found out that there's water remaining from the previous guest's use. Gross!!! This is the worst. 4. I couldn't sleep on the first day because the room isn't soundproof at all. I can hear everytime another guest close their door and it was annoying. Overall, it was a nice stay but I hope they could do better and make improvements.

Was looking for a budget place to stay in a decent area, walking distance to food and possibly shops. The price tag for me was just not on point, we paid 145AUD a night for a 2 nights stay and only stayed one night (by choice). This is the only time i have and probably will just walk out of a hotel before my stay been complete. To be fair i did get food poisoning (unrelated to the area or yhe hotel) on our first night and will say this is the best place to be that kind of sick. The only reason i say that is because the toilet and the shower are close enough that you can use both at the same time lol. When you take a shower the toilet gets wet, when you go to the bathroom you could easily hit the shower by accident and the basin is right at head level. The rooms are small and the bed feel like youre sleeping on the floor. If you are on your own i can see how this could work but if youre with a partner, you will need to be comfortable with sharing a small space, an awkward shower experience and an uncomfortable bed. This is also putting aside that we had a half used water bottle in the room on check-in, sheets had dirt marks and had random hair on and in the sheets After one night we ended up leaving and getting a room in Chinatown. Paid about 80AUD more but was well worth it. I think of you are comfortable roughing it, this is the place but at that price point it doesnt seem worth the stay. We were not in Singapore for long so not sure what average costs for Hotels are but i would personally pay a little extra and go to a nicer place. Otherwise area is fine, many places to eat close by, staff are friendly just was not the hotel for us.

Stayed one night. Checkout time is 11.00 AM. I had to checking around 10.00 PM as my flight reached Sin.around this time. Late checkouts are not allowed but charged separately. However front office staff is very courteous and nice.Rooms are adequate and good for a sleep and change. Location is ideal for shopping ( walking distance to Mohamed Mustapa) and eateries around.

Read a lot of reviews before I finally booked this place cause of the location and as my stay was short. This is a budget hotel so can’t complain much either but below are the detailed points: Pros Location is perfect. Close to little India mrt,Mustafa, lot of small Indian restaurants,7/11 and churches. The housekeeping is done everyday and you get a complimentary water bottle and fresh towels There is hot water available 24/7 No toiletries provided apart from toothbrush and paste. Please take your own. Cons They made me wait for hours before check in though I was ready to pay and had reservation . Surprisingly I did see people who came and got a room immediately. No doormats or dustbins in bathrooms No window which is sad The AC temperature keeps fluctuating though you set it Room size is definitely small but most accommodations have small room size in Singapore The surroundings are dirty and unclean Soundproofing of rooms is bad, you can hear your neighbours No night-lamps in rooms Suggestion:wouldn’t recommend, unless you want to stay here for the location and easy access to little India and other places at walkable distance based on budget,if not please choose another place.

Plus: near many shops that sells essential things like food, medicine, daily needs. Really close to variety of halal Indian Moslem restaurants. The room is suitable for 2 adult and 1 kids, there's also a refrigerator, water dispenser located at ground floor Minus: no window 🀣 and slightly not-really-clean environment

The room was clean and tidy. But it was too tiny with a smaller queen size bed and a tiny bathroom with barely enough room to turn. The bathroom wall is glass with a frosting sticker, which means you can partially sea through. This wouldn’t be comfortable for most guests. The advantages are- The Hotel is conveniently located within 150m of the Jalan Besar MRT, the hotel has a quickly responding staff.

Disappointed by Lack of Cleanliness and Dust. I must say that my experience left much to be desired. The hotel's cleanliness was below par, and it was evident that the housekeeping staff had not paid sufficient attention to detail. Upon entering my room, I immediately noticed a layer of dust on various surfaces. It was clear that the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in quite some time. The lack of cleanliness was disheartening and made me question the hotel's commitment to maintaining a comfortable environment for its guests. Furthermore, the bathroom was not exempt from these cleanliness issues. The corners of the bathroom floor and the base of the toilet were covered in dust and dirt, indicating a lack of proper cleaning and maintenance. It was quite off-putting and made me question the overall hygiene standards of the hotel.

Cozy hotel with basic amenities. The ac temperature is controlled centrally, though there is a console at the room but it goes back to the original temperature. Toilets have water heater so that's a good thing. Hotel has access to two nearby met stations and a bus station so that's convenient as well.

    1) there is 1 bottle of mineral water in the room. I asked for 2more bottles & was informed the 3rd bottle cost $2. 2) it was the last room that I got but I didn’t expect the room to be so dusty. U can clearly see dust on the kettle & telephone as though the room was vacant for months. 3) the moment I opened the door, I could smell wood. I thought it is due to the old building structure. However when I opened the bathroom door, I could smell the humidity & realised that the β€œwood” smell in the room is the high humid smell. 4) the bathroom ventilation is not working. 5) when the shower hose is hang onto the wall, the water spray towards the wall behind. U can never shower with the hose on the wall, u hav to handheld it to shower. 6) the room is on the first floor, the very 1st room near the reception. U can hear people talking throughout the night. Not recommended for light sleeper. 7) only have local tv show. No YouTube 8) I will never check into this hotel again.

I wanted to stay at this hotel because the rooms were decently better than than the surrounding hotels and hostels. The reception was friendly as well and helped me with my inquiries. However, the lobby looked extremely unprofessional with all the boxes strewn everywhere. Men were also packing items into the boxes like some kind of shop house. Their items laid out on the sofa so much so that other people were not able to take a seat. The noise from their tape was utterly annoying. Apparently these men always do this despite the disapproval of the staff members and there's nothing they can do it about it. These men are not even charged for storing their items here! This is unacceptable! Upper management should do something about this! It makes your hotel look absolutely unprofessional and destroys the decent outlook of the lobby. Hopefully the next time I come back they'll have fixed this issue.

This was my first trip to any foreign land from India and I was not sure about the hotel. Hotel 81 In Dickson road is one of the best placed. Nearest MRT is Jalan Besar and Little India. You can get all Indian food options in 300-400 mtr distance. The famous Komala Vilas restaurant also near. Rooms were very clean. Its bit small size but in terms of singapore it is best in town. Staff are really really kind and polite. I will recommend this hotel 100% for anyone travelling to Singapore from any part of the world.

Location is the main pro about this hotel. The downtown line is 2mins away by walk and little india Is 10mins away as well. Everything else is extremely low tier for what you are paying them Small cramped rooms, like coffins. - noisΕ³ bed with flat pillows [had to request another pillow cos of how flat the existing pillow was] - Tiny crammed bathroom with god awful design, the side of the bathroom was glass with frosted glass but not all.the way to the top. NO proper TP was provided as well. Just normal tissue paper. - House keeping was a joke, they never really clean the room, once they just sweeped the floor and gathered it in one corner. - The entire room was perpetually dusty, everΕ³ surface had dust, no matter If you wipe it away..a few minutes later..there will be dust on there. Right from the beside table, to the mirror to even your phone screens.

Affordable and really close to MRT station Jalan Besar (2 min walk) and not too far from Little India for Nort East Line. Room is just what you’d expect from a 2 starred, but it is at least somewhat clean. AC and water heater is working well.

Receptionists are quiet nice and helpful. There are a lot of nearby restaurants too. Rooms are clean, towels and bottled waters are provided. With coffee and tea sachets, toothbrush kit. You can borrow flat iron from the lobby if you need one. You can store or leave your luggages in the lobby while waiting for check in or your departure flight. They don't have airport shuttle so its better to book grab car to the airport.

Hotel was good , cleaned room and good service! Location was fantastic, you can walk and take MRT and can roam around the whole city without taking cab or much walking! Jalan Besar and Little India are the nearest two MRT station from the Hotel.. The only issue we faced was, for controlling AC temperature of your room , you will have to call reception.. no control of temperature in your hands, so mostly during midnight when the temperature is very cold we have to call reception for warm temperature!

The hotel’s location is strategic, located close to Jalan Besar MRT and Little India. As a budget hotel in Singapore, do not expect too much. The place is clean but I saw ants in the bathroom. It provides hot water and air conditioning. Overall stay is not bad but well.. acceptable.

The main usp of this hotel is its terrific location as it is located in heart of Singapore city, almost close to all major tourist destinations which are popular for sight seeing. It is located at a walking distance from multiple MRT stations where closest one is Jalan Besar MRT hardly at walking distance of 200m which will definitely help to save lot of time for travellers. Also myriad options of Indian restaurants are located nearby.

This is a two star hotel in a hot spot. The place is 5min walk from the Japan bazar blue line station. Bus station and little India is very close as well. Which are plus points for the hotel. The hotel washroom is so small, no shower cubical, no bidder shower and you cannot even turn around. Better to take your shampoo with you as there is only one soap solution for body and hair washing. Tooth brushes were provided by the hotel. They give instant tea and coffee packs but they were not that good. The water they provide was also not very good in quality and had a different pH. There is a locker and a small cupboard. Staff is not bothering you at all there for it is easy. They clean the room daily. Overall a budget hotel and worth the price

  • 4/5 kylie T. 1 year ago on Google
It’s great value for the price. The wall is super thin though you can hear the neighbors like you are in a living room of their house! Tiny bugs x 20 of them in room but I’ve seen similar bugs in the other tropical country hotel rooms too I think it’s not rare thing.

Great location close to MRT station and little india. I and my boyfriend were stayed on November 2019 for 1night only. We were welomed by friendly receptionist. The room was standard, clean and tidy. However, it was annoyed us since we could heard noise from outside/someone talking or walking from hallway. No welcome drink, no restaurant for breakfast. It was unworthy compared to the price I pay

Great location in little india. Neighborhood very lively and authentic. Hotel close to 2 metro stops and walking distance to many attractions. Rooms were on the small size with no separate shower from the bathroom. A lot of rooms have no windows and you can't control the a/c, you have to ask the front desk to change the temperature. Overall good if you can find a good deal on the price, if not there are probably nicer hotels in the area.

We 4 members and our group 13 members stayed in this hotel for five days. All staffs are polite except some senior staffs. Check in completed within 10 minutes for us and for our group members it took around 30 minutes. Dust bin was not cleaned when we entered into the room. They provide only provide one 500 ml water bottle for two people, if we want extra water they ask us to fill it from water dispenser it would be better if they provide two water bottles daily. They are not providing instant coffee packs daily they are providing only when we ask them. Pros: Near to Little India and Rocher MRT Rooms, toilets and bathrooms cleaned daily. Towels and bed sheets are changed daily. Free Wi-Fi available with good signal strength. Two desktops available for browsing in the reception area. Hair dryer and kettle available. Cons: Toilets and bathrooms are small which make it mess. Health faucet is not available. Rooms has no windows. Complementary instant coffee and toiletries are not provided properly. Tip: This hotel has smoking and non-smoking rooms. Make sure to book non-smoking room if you are non-smoker else you will get smoking smell in the room.

Really disappointed with the staff and housekeeping at this hotel. Even if I ignore how small the rooms are, and the glass walls of the bathroom which are conveniently ignored in the pictures, the staff of this place are outright rude and cold, and housekeeping means just leaving new towels on the bed and nothing more.

Only good thing about this hotel is the location. Rooms were quite small, hardly any space to move in the room once you keep your luggage. Just a small cupboard was given that too without any selves. Room service staff entered the room even after having the DND tag on the door. Better to look out for some other options.

I’m satisfied with their service when i eeach the hotel. it did not take a long time for me to get my keys. First of all, the room is affortable and reasonable for it’s price !! The toilet is clean, the bed is really comfortable. The location wise, its near food courts and there are some attractions around the area, walking distance from the hotel. Overall, I am impressed with what i am paying for and it is worth it. Would give it a 5/5
