The front desk is not helpful at all, and she is very rude to us. I believe you can find better place to stay in Singapore!

Great location - easy walk to MRT, to restaurants, to Arab street. Good AC in your control in the room. Small rooms without windows, which made it hard to adjust to jet lag (it was clear when I booked the room online that there were no windows, I just didn’t think about this at the time). Basically no space for your stuff - our bags were in the ground and we were stepping over them to move around. Tiny bathroom with shower head about toilet, so everything gets soaked when you shower. The hotel is more outdated and worn down that photos suggested when we booked. Expensive for what it was, but it was one of the cheaper options we could find, so I guess that’s the best you can do in a more expensive city

I booked a "Superior Double Room" for 2 nights. I arrived after dark, check in was easy. The price was slightly over $300AUD. It's a shoe box with a bed. Opening a suitcase takes up the floor room. It's s 9 large male shoe lengths wide. The photos are not the same as the room. The outside shower light was broken. Air-conditioning very noisy, pointing directly at the bed. Controls seem to do nothing to lower or raise the temperature. Fan speed seems to do nothing too. The bathroom fan comes on with the power to the room, and is noisy all night. Light comes under the door and through the peep hole. The bedding is a sheet on the mattress then flat sheet, blanket, flat sheet. It wasn't warm enough to be comfortable in the uncontrollable cold air-conditioning. And too hot in the room with the air-conditioning off. No fridge. Cable TV is BS, it's not what you think it might be. And the TV in my room wouldn't turn off. The remote turns it off then 2 seconds later it comes back on. I had to climb on the stool to look behind the tiny TV for the power switch on the wall. There were cigarette burns on the plastic drain in the bathroom, and a cigarette butt on the enclosed balcony. This place gets a 1 star because there is no option for a 0.

A Chinese customer service staff was very rude. Upon passing us the key,she shoo us by saying go. I don't get why she have to shoo us away. Hope the management look into giving her a training on how to serve better by being polite.

Very bad customer service for their front counter. I requested for a mineral water, the lady at the front counter replied me "you want water? Go to the beside 7-11 and buy." I was stunned by her reply. Very bad experience.

We booked a standard room with twin beds. Room was small, but ok for a short stay. There was no separator between the shower and closet, so the toilet was always wet. Staff was very friendly and helpful!πŸ‘

The property is okay if you want to stay for a shorter time 1-2 days max. It’s budget friendly hotel in Singapore. Staff was good. Property was clean however the room was very small and their was no window that’s the drawback It’s near to Bugis MRT station at a walking distance and a bus stop is just below the hotel.

This is absolutely my worst experience till today. The hotel room is in terrible condition - the bed is torn, there is no fresh air, dust. Pot and shower are two in one. But the worst thing is the existing smell in the room - it smells of mold and age. My husband had bugs jumping on his feet. Unfortunately, I cried for the first time in my life out of shock at the condition of the room. The money paid is non-refundable, but despite that, we decided not to stay there. Very sad experience. For the same money, we got a room at Hotel Boss with breakfast and 19th floor with a fantastic view of the city from the top. I do not recommend this place to anyone! PS. The owners have been apologizing under every bad comment for years. Wouldn't it be better to improve that place instead of apologizing? Is it really normal for you to be so dirty and smelly and not ashamed to take money from people???

If you want a big flash room with all the bells and whistles don't book here. BUT if you want a clean, tidy and affordable place to stay with fantastic and friendly staff you need look no further. Great location with MRT only a few minutes walk and buses at the front door. We spent three nights recently at Hotel 81 Bugis, we came to Singapore to take in the sights not sit in a room all day and this place was perfect. Thanks everyone at Hotel 81 Bugis.

Sheets in the room were dirty. There were even ants on the side table. There were even dirt on the console below the TV. The front staff were so rude, especially the female staff. Called us rudely "Eh you exceed already need to pay" cause we exceeded the time limit. We didn't even get any call. Usually we will get call asking if we would like to extend and if we are coming down, but we never receive any call. We already left early but we were late cause of the lift. The lift is horrible. Literally waited nearly 5mins plus to go down. Not happy. Will never visit this outlet. What do you expect from a budget hotel honestly.

Budget hotel. Rooms are clean and well maintain. But due high demand, reservation should be made prior to stay here. Next to a bus stop. Just make sure to purchase bus card before taking any public transport. All transaction are cashless. 15 minutes from merlion on foot. 10 minutes from bugis Junction. The bathroom is a bit cramped. But some rooms had outdoor shower.

  • 2/5 Jessica R. 1 year ago on Google
It's pretty bare minimum and should be like $30/night for what they offer. Furniture is old and doors / walls faded, there were lots of bugs, and you can also rent by the hour which should be a good indicator of what to expect in the wee hours of the morning!

V basic accommodation, rooms have no windows & the 'bathroom' is v small with a shower over the toilet. Our room felt damp. Reception staff friendly & efficiency dealt with issues we had. Ok for a short stay only in my book. Ideal location to access many of the attractions.

Manky place altogether. Dirty sheets, towels and there was dust everywhere. Staff were nice but I suppose they weren't sleeping there.

The rooms were HORRIBLE. The room looked like someone only cleaned the sheets and such but never cleaned anything else. Also the AC was broken and the bathroom was UNBELIEVABLY MOLDY. It was so disgusting I could barely believe the water was clean. Also we called but never came.

  • 3/5 Md Rezaul K. 8 months ago on Google
The rooms are very confined. Toilet doors do not lock even after changing rooms. Maybe the locks are old and they didn’t bother to change. Cleanliness is good. The hotel staff are good. But it is strange that they don't greet the guests much.

Well you can't expect much from this hotel in terms of amenities and luxuries. Just a basic small room with bed and attached washroom. The only good part is its location. It is close to Airport, MRT station, Bus stop, Marina Bay, 7-Eleven etc. So, you have access to a number of places. P.s. The people at reception helped us book a cab for the airport and lent us their umbrella (for free) for a day, since it was raining.

Nice budget-friendly hotel and perfect if you just want a place to sleep for the night. Rooms are a bit too small, wifi is fast, beds are okay. Location-wise, it is perfect, a short walk to the bus stops and a 5 to 10 minute walk to the MRT station near Bugis Junction. Staff are friendly & there is a 7-Eleven next door.

It's a love hotel but the staff is friendly and helpful and there is no disturbance. Laundry machine next door and a decent inexpensive spa behind and great restaurants nearby. I knew that the rooms would be small but I got the big glass window room so I was ok with it.

Receptionists were courteous and friendly. When I requested for an alarm call in several hours' time, lamenting that my phone battery was flat and I didn't have a phone charger with me, the manager on duty Mr Hanny asked me what phone I was using. After showing him my phone, he promptly searched and loaned me the USB-C charger which I needed exactly. I was pleasantly surprised by his thoughtful act and kind gesture! The room I rested in was decently maintained and quite comfortable. I indeed received an alarm call as requested so that I woke up on time, with my phone fully charged during my rest. The stay was a satisfactory experience, and definitely value for money. Kudos to the hotel management and staff for the hospitable stay I had there! I wish to thank as well as express my appreciation to Mr Hanny for his thoughtfulness and helpfulness. He is a valuable and wonderful asset to the hotel. I certainly will visit this hotel again when I require temporary accomodation in the area in the future. Keep up the great service!

Hotel 81 Bugis Check-in- 01 Dec 2023 Check-out- 02 Dec 2023 Night 1 Room 1 β€œBed Bugs and strong Paint Smell” I check in on 1/12/2023 and check out on 2/12/2023. I’ve book the hotel for my convinces due to near the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2023. I’ve check on the hotel around 22.00 hrs and the paint smell was so strong, around 23.00 hrs I wanted to sleep. I can’t sleep the whole night due to Bed Bugs and itchy the whole night. When morning I woke up, my both legs has bite marks. When I check out the room and inform the front desk about the issue, they only say will look into it. I would not stay again in this hotel due to poor cleanest. 02 Dec 2023

The air conditioning system, of this hotel is not well maintained. The whole room, it’s walls, floor, bed, are always wet and dampy. Not good for the health. I have read the same reviews from other guests, which surprised me why the hotel management has not done anything about this until now. I will not recommend this place.

How can I give Zero Star please? I don't want to give even one star. I know this is a budget hotel. But very bad situation. Walls are always wet by not proper maintenance of air con. The floors are also wet. No action is taken even though we asked the counter. Dirty Room, Dirty Toilet, Dirty Floor, Dirty Wall !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Terrible Dirty, I regret staying here.
