Dear
Sir/Madam
We
are
not
surprised
that
our
family
is
not
the
first
to
give
sincere
compliments
to
Nurse
Poh
Hoon
and
staff
of
AH
Palliative
care
unit.
The
support
we
received
from
everyone
in
AH
palliative
care
unit
was
amazing
but
particular
mention
goes
to
Nurse
Poh
Hoon
in
Ward
5.
We
honestly
donโt
think
we
would
have
got
through
without
her
empathy,
quick
action
and
her
positive
attitude
towards
her
patient
and
going
the
extra
mile
to
care
for
my
motherโs
needs.
Our
84-year-old
mother,
Goh
Peng
Huay
has
been
suffering
from
advanced
dementia
and
other
medical
problems
and
has
been
cared
for
since
her
first
admission
in
January
2021
in
Alexandra
Hospital.
During
all
her
12
admissions
(28
Jan
2021
to
31
Jan
2023)
excluding
her
current
stay,
the
staff
were
absolutely
brilliant
and
treated
my
mum
with
so
much
respect,
dignity,
loving
care
and
compassion.
While
credit
is
long
overdue
we
still
cannot
hold
back
but
to
mention
that
on
3
Feb
2023,
we
messaged
Nurse
Poh
Hoon,
not
knowing
it
was
her
day
off,
telling
her
our
mother
was
very
weak
with
low
oxygen
level
&
very
high
pulse
rate.
She
did
not
hesitate
to
swing
into
action,
coordinating
with
the
doctor
&
her
team
of
palliative
nurses
to
arrange
for
the
ambulance
to
fetch
our
mother
to
AH
Urgent
Care
Centre
(UCC).
She
also
went
beyond
her
call
of
duty
to
personally
update
doctors
at
UCC
from
her
home.
Our
family
cannot
thank
Nurse
Poh
Hoon
enough
for
the
respect
and
dignity
our
mother
was
shown,
nothing
was
ever
too
much
or
troublesome
for
her.
We
will
never
forget
how
kind
she
has
been
to
my
ailing
mother
and
me
during
this
difficult
time.
Please
convey
our
thanks
and
gratitude
to
this
exemplary
nurse
who
deserves
the
highest
commendation.
She
has
made
AH
proud
and
epitomises
the
qualities
of
a
guardian
angel
without
wings!
