Considering the amount we paid to have our baby (+18k$) I am just "amazed" by the low quality of service in this hospital. Some of the Nurses were ice cold, harsh and rude , we needed to press the bottom several times and wait 10 mns for a nurse to show up to help us. We are first time parents, we were anxious and had a lot of questions that were met with unempathy. We are simple people, we are not asking to be treated like royalties, we are just asking to get what we paid for. We had 3 days in hospital everybody encouraged us to use them fully and to ask for help. We felt that the Nurses do not communicate with each others, every shift you need to reexplain everything and any situation to the new nurse. It is very frustrating. They barely refill tea, coffee or even DRINKING WATER, I had to go buy water from 7/11 downstairs. They do not help clean the room, they do not renew towels or toothpaste...It is just unbelievable really! One of the nurses was wonderful with us and helped the mommy with breastfeeding. The lactose consultant Sharon , was absolutely sweet and I would like to thank her a lot, she is truly wonderful and Kind and patient. I wanted to register my newborn in ICA, sth that normally could be done in hospital but for two consecutive days the "system was down". We are of course thankful to the people who helped us having our child but still think that a maternity ward in a private hospital in a country like Singapore and given the price should be much much much better.

On 3rd May 23, is my most nervewrecking visit to a hospital because I'll be doing few of my first time in my whole life; alone : 1st CT Scan, 1st Colonoscopy, 1st IV insertion (my biggest phobia), 1st sedation (fear I'll never wake up forever). BUT, all my fears were crushed when I met the amazing people at Mount Alvernia. Met nurse Ruby, precious as her name, who has done a super painless IV needle insertion into my vein, that could be strategically used for drawing blood, IV, etc. Dominic from their pastoral care visited me before all my procedures, who is a God send kind reminder to me that our loving God is still watching over me. The CT Scan is a breeze! The colonoscopy went smoothly under the expert hands of Dr Cheryl Lau, from Colorectal Clinic Associates, who is oh so assuring, friendly, kind and caring; most importantly, never scare me unnecessary! And, I did wakeup from the sedation naturally. Thanks be to God🙏💕 Dr Cheryl Lau has kindly helped me alias with Dr Caroline Khi on some fibroids in me, who even visited me and given me good advice. I am forever so stubborn to remove those fibroids and she isn't that pushy. She's quick to understand that I like to hear "minimally invasive" stuff. 🤣 Every single staff is really giving their best to the patients. Well, found a big Piles after the colonoscopy so I'll be most likely be doing a laser surgery to treat it. I know I'll be in good hands for the Piles removal procedure, to get rid of it so it'll not bleed from my butt that I hate to see! Shuttle bus uncle is nice n friendly. He waited for me when I waved to him afar! And he said thank you when we alight. Wishing all who read this good health! 2nd Updates: 26 May 23 Today is my 1st Piles Op and 1st time being pushed into an Operating Theatre! Jittery!😵‍💫 Could i remember any names of the super friendly and kind staff or the nurses? Sorry, so sorry...really sorry... I can't coz I am too nervous. My bad! 😪 The staff at the waiting bay to the Operating Theatre are so friendly, careful and polite. But, I can't remember their names! My bad again!😓 The uncle who pushed me to the waiting bay is so kind and even assured me everything is ok. And, I can't remember his name too! Sorry! 😔 The lady doctor anaesthetists who has taken the initiative to introduce herself and checking on me patiently. Oh dear, I can't remember her name too! My bad! 🥺 The Operating Theatre nurses who have eased my tension when we chatted very briefly on the latest K-drama 3rd season "Doctor Rom****c" Oh oh, I can't remember their names too! My bad again! 😖 The whole Op is painless and my most trusted doc, Dr Cheryl Lau has done a magic on me! Thank you doc for removing not just 1 big nasty pile but few smaller ones too! My butt is finally liberalised! 🥳🎉😜 The nurses who have attended to me after the Op are really careful, attentive and kind. Can't remember their names too! 😣 I am finally discharged and here I am now, 30th of May, recuperating, recounting and typing the reviews, just few days after the op day. Counting all the good blessings I have received from the amazing people, our loving God and beautiful intercessions from our loving Mother Mary, all angels and saints! 🙏 ❤️ Wishing all who read this good health and lots of happiness! ❤️

I chose to deliver again at Mt A as I had a pretty good experience with my older daughter in 2018. I actually had a better time this round. I chose the St Michael's ward and gave birth on the first day of CNY. From the start, i wanted to sign up for the Ladies Card and was there when the business office had just closed for the day. However they were so kind and went out of their way to help me rush the registration and reopen the office so that i could get the card completed and printed on the spot. As for the actual delivery, the previous time i got an older delivery suite that had not been touched up, whilst this time the room was newer and very comfortable. After my delivery i was shivering from the epidural and the nurses were really attentive in trying to make me comfortable. As for the St Michael's ward, the nurses on duty, especially the night shift headed by miss Glenda were exceptional. They were really patient in explaining the change in rules and rationale from my first delivery, and ensuring i had enough rest, food and drinks throughout my stay. I was able to also make use of the facilities better and was able to bring my newborn for the baby blessing at the chapel. The chapel staff, especially Sister Angeline were so kind, and although we are not Catholics, we really felt it to be a warm experience to receive such well wishes for the child's life. Its not a perfect hospital, but considering that this is a pandemic, and hispital staff morale can be low, i think they are handling really well.

I was in this hospital from 5th October/16 to 11th October. I was digonosed with cancer in my right kidney. I got admitted for immediate right kidney removal surgery. I was in St.Dominic ward in room St. Jacob. OT is excellent, room is excellent, very clean. Doctors are very expert, except one nurse I found all the nurses very caring, humble and highly professional. Though it is Christian missionary hospital and I am a Muslim patient from Bangladesh, hospital served me Muslim food. But office seemed little beat lengthy.

I had a wonderful experience at Mt. Alvernia, St. Anne Mother and Child Centre, St. Raphael Ward, when my family and I welcomed our 2nd child. The staff was incredibly caring & attentive, making us feel comfortable & well-supported throughout our stay. The team demonstrated a high level of expertise, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. We couldn't have asked for a better place to bring our child into the world. Thank you to the entire team for their exceptional care & support during this special time in our lives.

My husband and I had a pleasant 4D3N at St Anne’s maternity ward. From pre-admission to discharge it felt like I have met more than 20 different staff and they are all knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed most of my meals and is always looking forward to the next one (tea break inclusive). Took the most basic single room and it was pleasantly bright (full length window), new and comfortable. (My first stay I slept in 2-bed room by the door in the old building and I must say it felt depressive). Overall experience felt like a staycation.

If i could rate 0 i would definitely do it. Nurses are so rude and impatient when we asked them questions as it was our first childbirth. Especially the night shift staffs. They rarely check on you and delay the treatments. Paying more than other private hospital but receive rude treatments.

I was here for my husband’s knee surgery. The nurses do not communicate well. They aren’t kind too. I had been waiting near the OT for more than couple of hours. No updates were given in spite of asking several times. I haven’t had this kind of bad experience in any private hospital. I just hope my husband will recover well post surgery.

There were only 2 in front of me. Yet other than triage which attended to me swiftly, the wait was awfully long. I was in so much pain in my abdominal otherwise I won't be here. Why term the place emergency if the hospital has no intention to respond as expected of an emergency?

A&E at Mt Alvernia are a bunch of incompetent people. From the nurses to the doctors. My mom almost died last year when they were delaying treatment and the doctor wanted to send my mum home. Good time we insisted on keep her there despite their reluctance. Saved her life as she lost an organ the very next day and had to undergo major surgery. You all should be ashamed of your lack of professionialism and incompetence. The nurses and doctors at the main hospital are great though, just the A&E personel who were absolutely useless.

Overall nice experience here. Check in and check out was fast. However, if you check out at peak hour, there will be some wait. It’s still faster than Parkway East as there’s more than 2 counters. The ward and room goes by name instead of number so it can be a little difficult to locate. Service from doctor and nurses are good. Food menu selection is good and food is tasty too. 2 bedded room is more spacious than Mount Elizabeth. However, they also do not provide headphone unlike Parkway East. So expect noise from your neighbour’s TV. Plus point is plenty of parking spaces.

Not able to book a maternity tour due to the restriction of COVID 19. Called the hotline, the person asked why is there a need to do the tour... I replied, at least I need to know where to go when I’m on labour. She replied just walk through the main door... What customer service is this, I had only been to Blk A for my gyne appointment, don’t even know where is the main entrance! Understand many hospital had make to a point to let their patients do the tour first and rejected those that are not booked with them. Seem like mount a is not doing anything to help their patient. This round, had not choice but to give birth there... I swear I’m not going to that hospital after this birth!

My wife was at a day surgery and after surgery my wife was wheeled back to her ward to rest. But the front desk at ward 3 kept chatting away as if it is the wet market! My wife told the nurse to help her tell the staff to quieten down as patients need to rest. Not only did they not listen but ridiculed the nurse. I would like Mt Alvernia to train their staff to be more professional!

My daughter and I went to A&E for high fever and food poisoning with dizziness and diarrhea. It was an absolutely unpleasant experience. I got to have my drip while seated at the entrance of a sliding door, while feeling very dizzy, nauseous, pain, fever of 39.6 degree, etc, etc.. My girl with fever of 39.5 degrees had vomited and accidently soiled in her pants due to continuous diarrhea. 1 nurse was kind enough to provide a blanket and nurse pants to cover, while the male man just responded they don't have any!!!!! Then she was asked to seat by the same entrance with the 'soiled clothes' while on her drip for an hour too!!!!! If both of us were not so out of it, due to our symptoms, we would have walked out of there. And each of us were charged $350 and $301 separately for that horrendous experience. The worst case, the antibiotics that costs us $87.20 in total, made us vomit and have more diarrhea!!!!! Absolute rubbish. Then we had to have 2nd opinion from another facility, where we were told not to take the antibiotics (Augmentin 625) which is notorious for causing diarrhea!!!!!!!

Exorbitant bill included a ridiculous price of S$60 charged for a box of medical gloves. Nursing service was disappointing particularly when no advice was given on medications upon discharge. Staff nurse in-charge during discharge also did not bother to remove hospital labels on patient and handed a brochure from oxygen rental vendors that is outdated (3 years ago before covid). Therapists did not update family members of any appropriate course of treatments going forward after their assessments. An utterly uncaring hospital that never bothers to reply enquiries of patient’s family on medication after discharge!

Gave birth twice at Mt Alvernia, and both experiences were nothing short of perfect. Did c-sect and the team was steady and in good spirits-- that was very useful in reducing the tension for me! So as fearful as I was, I was assured by the knowledge that I was in good hands, and everything was completed within an hour. The nurses at the St Michael's maternity ward were also impeccable. All of them were always gentle, patient and friendly, even though their work is so tiring. They were very helpful in giving me tips on how to latch the baby, and always tended to my needs and questions very promptly. I sincerely recommend the hospital!

The waiting time for the day surgery registration counter could be enhanced. Was there recently for a (cataract) surgery procedure. We were instructed to arrive at 6.30 am for registration, with the surgery scheduled for 8.30 am. Despite our punctual arrival at 6.20 am, the registration process only concluded 7.20 am (with four other patients ahead of us). Then we waited again for porter to take us to day ward. A helpful and amiable porter promptly escorted us to the day ward. Upon reaching the day ward, it became apparent that the staff were managing an overwhelming caseload. Despite this, the level of care we received was commendable. The prescribed medication, which was supposed to be taken one hour before the procedure (as informed by the nurse), could only be administered at 8 am, given our delayed arrival at the ward at 7.50 am. However, following this initial delay, the proceedings within the day ward were handled methodically and to our satisfaction. While we acknowledge the satisfactory experience within the day ward, we believe that the overall rating of the hospital could have been improved had the registration process been more efficient. We hope the hospital will take necessary measures to streamline the registration process for future patients. (The delay caused patient’s anxiety which could have been avoided)

This is with regards to their free shuttle service. While I'm grateful it's free, the "schedule" posted on the waiting point is basically a joke as they are ALWAYS late. I go there regularly and usually wait 30 to 40 min for the shuttle when it's supposed to come every 10 to 20 min (based on the old schedule which has been updated)! There were times when the bus came late and then let passengers alight but refused to let ppl board because they were changing shifts- get ready to be late as you wait more than 40 min... The photo posted is the new schedule, with a new disclaimer that timings may not be accurate which is totally 100% true. Took the shuttle recently and it was late again. What's the point of putting a schedule when it is NEVER accurate?? Unless you have plenty of time to wait, better to take bus 156 from the bus stop. The drivers ignore the schedule and run their own show.

This hospital is taking advantage of the pandemic situation. MOH has given the free test kit to hospital for patient, yet they are charging the patient with $80+ miscellaneous equipment charge for PCR/ART. Even for the visitor(without govt support on the kit) being charged only $40+ for ART, despite very high price but is still lower than miscellaneous equipment charge for the patient. Furthermore, the singaporean lady customer service at ART/PCR department is very rude! AVOID THIS PROFIT HUNGER HOSPITAL WHICH TAKING ADVANTAGE ON THE PANDEMIC SITUATION.

Was just discharged today from MAH after an open myomectomy. My gynae was great, as usual 😃. MAH was however surprisingly lacking considering I’ve heard great reviews about the nurses there. My comments are below:- 1. I had requested for a single bedder in advance as it was an elective surgery, but upon checking in business Centre told me only 2 bedders were avail. No reasons given. If I had been informed that my request is not guaranteed I would have opted for a different hospital since my gynae is free to operate in all pte hospitals. 2. I had bad nausea and was in pain after the ops but despite repeated requests for top up painkillers, nobody came. After numerous calls, a nurse finally provided me with apoxia and I felt better. 3. I was on catheter and a nurse who came to empty the bag commented I had very little output. I asked if the urine was being drained, she pointed to the tube and said yes and walked off. Hours later I felt my tummy was uncomfortable with the feeling that it was full of pee but you had to hold it. I pressed my tummy just to be sure it was not the surgery pain and was sure it wasn’t. At that point I was still in bad nausea, with post ops pain and now this! I called for help and luckily a more experienced nurse came to the rescue. She adjusted the tube and pumped in some fluids. After a while she explained it should be working now as the tubes were warm (previously cold) and the bag was starting to fill. True enough I felt better after that. I felt the first nurse should have been more alert since she has already commented the urine output was v little. 4. I took a shower on the 2nd day and asked someone for help with the abdominal binder but she said if I’m lying down there is no need to put it on. I was surprised since this is not my understanding after going through 2 previous c secs. I asked another nurse if I should be wearing the binder if lying down she said YES and helped me with it. This may be judgemental but it came across that the first nurse was too lazy to help me. 5. I was moved to single bedder on 2nd day as one was available. No hot water on 3rd day morning when showering. No one provided me with painkillers as well throughout the night and late into the next morning until I asked for it. I mentioned to my gynae that perhaps I could be discharged early since I seem to be doing pretty well without painkillers. A nurse was there and prob heard me, after that the other nurses were very diligent in asking if I need one. Also it seems to take very long before someone comes with medicine, once it took more than an hour before someone came back with panadol after my request. 6. Few occasions nurses came in to check on my blood pressure, temp and the wound but when they saw me with the abdominal binder they said ‘oh you’re wearing a binder.. I’ll just check it later’. I don’t understand why and when will later be since I’m supposed to be wearing it all day unless showering? Dr asked a nurse how is my wound and she said it’s ok, how does she know when no one checked anyway? 7. On check out day, dr did a final check… opened up the dressing and asked the nurse to replace me with a fresh one. The nurse left the room with the dr and never came back, leaving me lying on the bed for 20 mins with an open dressing. It’s strange to me why would the nurse choose do another task when leave me lying there. Aftet 20 mins I called for help and another nurse attended to me promptly. Muttered something about the other nurse mentioned she would do it. I chose to operate in MAH due to previous good reviews from friends. I unfortunately do not agree.

Heard from WOM that MA is good, came here for the first time & will be my last. Service isn't as good as government hospitals. Went there the place was under construction, fine. No one was there to assist patients while drop off, fine. Registration counter nurse was good, medical doctor for ARI symptoms was ok, the doctor...wordless. I am here for help otherwise i won't be here. The service given was like "there's nothing we can do/no one knows for sure" so...can you at least help? Bad experience, don't want to go back again.

Was with my young daughter visiting a clinic within the hospital and my mobile phone had almost gone flat and I needed it to attend to urgent work matters. Was elated to find a mobile charging machine at the lobby, but I was having trouble accessing the cables as my electronic NRIC could not be detected. I approached Wen Jun, the receptionist who was on duty then, for assistance. He had not operated the machine before but was so willing to help. He even pushed back his lunch time to assist me and subsequently offered to find me a charging cable or loan me his personal power bank. All this while, he kept assuring me that I was not inconveniencing him. I was so impressed by Wen Jun's helpful and giving nature and am certain he will continue to deliver excellent service to all visitors and patients he comes into contact with. Thank you so much and well done!

Wow ,impressive hospital which provides multidisciplinary care . Went to newly built St Annie block [sept 2024] at MAH for labour . Counter service is quick in providing the location on where I should report and brought me and my husband personally there . It was at 5am . Staff all seems to be well trained and professionally assist me through out the whole labour with patient and care . Is a very conducive environment where I can rest recovery .I like it so much as it is very new and clean. Enjoy 3 days stay at there and highly recommend anyone going for labour it is an affordable private holy hospital

Was thinking whether to write this review as it happened some time ago and medical personnel have to shoulder a huge load in many areas and that came into consideration. Having said that, for a private hospital and one which was not understaffed when we came, the standards of the nurses leave much to be desired especially considering the prices we are paying. Brought my mum to the A & E last month or September. We were registered pretty quickly as there wasn't much of a crowd but it took some time for a nurse to attend to my mum. Granted that her condition wasn't life threatening, we saw a nurse walking back and forth and chatting easily with other colleagues before she attended to my mum. There was also another lady in a wheelchair on a drip who was alone. She was left alone for some time. Nurses walked past several times without checking in on her. In the end, I approached her out of concern and she said she wanted to talk to a nurse. This demonstrates the extremely poor and lax standards of the nurses there. Staff rudeness A foreigner who we did not know was the cashier until we made payment was very unprofessional and rude. She ignored us when my sister approached to ask her something. It was like the roles were reversed she was the affluent patient. 3. Unprofessional nurses After my mum's blood was drawn for a blood test, an attending Indian nurse said my mum would probably have to be warded overnight. This turned out to be untrue (the doctor said she didn't) but it was disturbing that this nurse did not know her stuff yet made such an unprofessional and WRONG diagnosis. She could have sacred my mum and other patients. 4. Some of the nursing staff were also not wearing their masks properly or were not even wearing them in plain sight of patients at the waiting area, an unforgivable medical practice especially in an A & E and with COVID still around. We observed that the staff treated children and their families better. The only good thing was the doctor who attended us. He was thorough and painstaking. I notice that the standard of nurses here pales in comparison to public hospitals. Or perhaps the staff there don't sense much money to be made. In any case , please buck up on your service standards.

Nurses at Mt Alvernia St Anne hospital are God sent! They took care of me and my baby very well during my stay. Had c section for my firstborn there in Nov23. Confinement food is very nice too. Really appreciate the nurses who went out of their way to help me when I got engorged breasts even during wee hours (12 am, 3 am etc). It was my first delivery experience and so glad I made decision to choose Mt Alvernia for delivery

Went to visit a friend and his wife who gave birth here last night. Generally it is a quiet hospital. Not too crowded but has plenty of parking space. Very minimal security but staff are very friendly and attentive. Signage however are quite lacking and the arrows are quite misleading. Lifts are definitely faster but the corridors are dimly lit and quiet w doors squicking. Eerie indeed. But the wards and rooms are well furnished. Single rooms are not as spacious. Feels very cramp as compared to other hospitals.

This was by far my best experience as an inpatient at a hospital, from admission to the doctors, nursing staff, coffee ladies, cleaning staff, everyone is professional, caring and compassionate. What was potentially a stressful time was made into a smooth experience. Special thank you to Dr Timothy Lim and Dr Germaine Xu, their teams, and all staff at St Clare Ward for being amazing!

Private hospital with the standard amenities and food catered. However because it is private where rules are flexible, instead of 8.30pm, they allow visitors to stay in ward until 10pm-12am - refering to 4 beded ward.

A very fat malay lady(counter no.5) said that I must get my wife's signature immediately even though my wife just came out from the operating room and in bad condition for admin. This is the worst service that I got in my life.

Had a knee surgery at this hospital. After a nurse from St Clare Ward 525a took out IV drip, my left hand started swelling and became discolored (see pictures). Went back to AnE and was referred to hand surgeon. After receiving medical advice, they still had the audacity to charge me $516 (observe this entire fracas was caused by the nurse who took out my drip).

Delivered my first baby here, had a good experience and just delivered my second baby a few days ago. Nurses were great as usual. In fact I recognized a few of the nurses. They were kind, attentive and very sweet. The hospital administration on the other hand is atrocious. We called in and was told (was having contractions so my csec became emergency csec) if I went to the labour ward directly there would be extra charges so I heard my gynae say in that case just ward normally and then wait for the operation (scheduled same day). I believe the "labour ward" is the one where the ladies wait for their birth and is hooked up to monitor contractions etc? I don't know because I DIDN'T STEP IN THERE. So we went to the hospital, waited to be admitted and went up to my ward before being wheeled to the Operating Theatre. I was NOT sent to the emergency labour ward or whatever it was called. On the day of discharge, the counter staff saw that the emergency ward was not included in the bill (IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE FIRST PLACE) and she insisted on adding the 900+ into the bill saying it's a PACKAGE WHAT PACKAGE? I didn't step into the ward why should I pay for it? Plus it wasn't charged in the first place so why insist on adding now? Overheard the nurses at my ward chatting about it too - they were getting scolded for not adding the charges but they were saying I didn't enter the ward so why would they bill me. We're already paying an additional amount for an emergency csec (extra 2k). If I didn't use nor step into the labour ward why should I pay another 900? Whatever "package" should have been in the extra 2k as well right since I'm using those services. Worst still, when I admitted nth was conveyed to me and I was shown the normal csec pricing. Seriously my stars is for the nurses. The hospital deserves none. Thankful for their help during my stay.

The nurses here are caring, patience, friendly, understanding and always carry a smile. Especially nurse Vee from St Joseph Ward is very attentive, gentle and cheerful. With the well care from the nurses, the hospital give me a very cosy feeling and sense of security. A big thanks to the nurses and cleaners. You are truly the Angels in white.

Clinic called the MAH to book a bed 1 week before my admission and I was told I would be given a bed. On the day of admission, no beds are available till evening. Had to scrambling to find another bed in other hospitals as I am not sure if my condition will take a turn. The irony is the clinic managed to find a bed in another hospital on the evening of the next day. Went to collect my admission papers and there is still no bed available in Mt A. Understand that there are other patients in my shoes. While the beds are very full, please just don't promise that a bed will be available when it is not the case. MAH is a hospital, when someone needs to be admitted, there is always a chance that the situation can get worse. I certainly don't think that you are serving all with love. It has caused a lot of distress and anxiety.

Chose MAH to give birth to both my kids. The staff and nurses were great, friendly and patient. When it comes to breastfeeding, both the lactation consultant and nurses are very knowledgeable and helpful. I’ll highly recommend MAH to all my friends.

Very rude staff wearing the red uniform of Mount Alvernia Hospital! What a disgrace to the hospital image and reputation. As an outpatient coming for a medical checkup, being unfamiliar with the hospital environment, upon taking the lift from B1 to ground floor, I was trying to figure out if the lift landed at level 1 was the right way to the lobby as there was no signage. This rude staff raised her voice asking me where I was heading to and even expressed loudly in disgust of my ignorance the moment I stepped out of the lift. If she didn't have the "heart" to offer directions, there wasn't any need either to behave in a rude and disgraceful manner. It was a private rate that I was paying for the medical expenses, not FREE anyway! A darn lousy and unwanted experience early in the morning of a Saturday - Thanks Mount Alvernia Hospital staff!

Dealing with a hospital is always a nerve wracking experience. Just wanted to thank the wonderful nurses of St Francis ward Previna and Lorraine for going above and beyond and being so kind to my entire family when my dad was warded. Being sick is never a pleasant experience but I’m so grateful for these nurses who were so patient and kind with us, we truly felt their care and love for their job and patients. Thank you very much!

From delivery to inpatient care, my wife was offered prompt and useful guide to cope with her delivery and recovery. The nurses in the delivery suite were resourceful and gentle with my wife, and she felt assured under their care. The doctors and nursing team had supported our baby and my wife during the stay, and we found the inpatient single room spacious. The menu selection for food was sufficient and my wife had enough to eat during her stay. Upon discharge, the baby blessing by one of FMDM Sisters and Pearlyn, a pastoral care intern, was unique and precious to this hospital. Being a Catholic, having my baby presented before the tabernacle, which house the Holy Eucharist, is a momentous event of thanksgiving and a shower of blessings for my newborn. Few days after discharge, my wife received a call from one of the lactation consultants to review her progress on breastfeeding. These kind gestures had added up to the emotional support that my wife was showered with during this life-giving and changing episode of her life.

1)Ward (single room) facilities may be dated. Wonder if the room is dusty/musty, the minute I was wheeled in, I had runny nose. 2) In day ward, Bedside controller button can be pressed to ask for nurse assistance but cannot adjust bed positions. 3)However, the nurses here, (especially single room), are kind, patient and attentive. 4) admission time(level 1) is very long. Thankfully I came 3h in advance, else, I'll be late for my procedure. Day surgery Patient, next to me, took 1.5h to complete her registration, almost late, had to rush to operating theatre whilst she was at the day ward. 4)special thanks to day ward, nurse manager, Agnes (Indian lady). Thank you for be understanding( knowing my medical conditions and concerns), putting in best effort to help me( transporting my heavy bags from day ward to single room , single-handedly), your comforting words( that I will be well taken care of by you and the hospital). Your great sense of humor and assurance were what I needed most before I enter the OT. God bless you and your family 😀

This is based on my day surgery experience. The facilities are aged and basic (e.g. the beds in the recovery ward still don’t have button self-control, so patients need to call for help to sit up or lie down). The refreshments are really economy class, plain biscuits and water. All these despite charges that are anything but economy. By the way, the public toilet at the receptions level was, on one occasion at least, as filthy as some hawker centres’.

I only have high praise for the professionalism, care and love showed by the nursing team at St Clare Ward on Level 5 of MA. Despite being only warded for a day, I could see the team's dedication, passion and genuine love showered on me as the team ensured that I made a speedy recovery from my operation. Just to share a few names as I was unable to obtain all staff who cared for me - Thank you to Jeanie for making me feel welcome and less nervous right from the beginning and Jazmine for ensuring I was comfortable post-op and that medication and food arrived on time for consumption. Not to mention, all who had attended to me at Ward 530. God bless you and your families. I am eternally grateful and because of you, Singapore has a trustworthy and reliable healthcare system that is second to none!

I never had been warded in hospital before and as much as I can I will not want to. But late last month I had to take one of the two most painful options is to undergo a surgery. Dr Tan Teck Wei was in charge of me throughout the surgery and follow up reviews. Dr.Tan exonerated the people to patient skilset that make me at eased by explaining the procedures for my clear understanding and allay any fears at I had. Dr. Tan accessibility through Whatsapp was fantastic during my stay at Mount Alvernia Hospital and when I was discharged. That helps a lot for any patient experience in pain or problems and also put less pressure for nurses who keeps calling for their Doctor. Great initiative SOP. During my surgery Dr Timothy Thor who assisted Dr.Tan, knew was I was anxious and his cool witty interaction with me snapping me out of my fear and in no time I was in a dreamland like he said I would. Thank you Dr Tan, Dr Timothy, Muhammad Fuad and Krstyle Thian on the surgery. Now for the stay at Mount Alvernia , seriously you dont feel like your staying in a hospital. This is important as in my lastbpodting in China I ensures any wellness or medical guests will not feel that they are coming for a medical condidtion. The bed was comfortable except when other patients snores the night away and keep calling for nurses that brought me back to reality I was in a hospital. Even though I had a wrist band stating risk of falling, I did not want to bother the nurses. Thank you to nurses Victoria, Maria, Chet, Beth, Maybelle, Sugunya and Mei Qi throughout my stay. Not forgetting the singing nurse( Filipina) in the morning I forgot her name please thank her . A nice change to have in an hospital setting than the normal voices asking when can I go home.Where is the Doctor....Please note Doctors have their rountine amd checks and not at anyone's begging for immediate response. The nurses need more recognition and gratitude. Request for Butter Chicken for your meals. Beat some of even hotel's butter chicken. What needs to be improved greatly is the communication from the admin to the ward.Has happened 3 times including today from admission to follow up check up. I felt a number of fustrations that the communication flow somehow got stalled from the 1st station. In pain i had to go through telling all over again. There is a system that you key in the details for the next station to see it rather putting the patient to go through all over again. All these challenges I had was not even at peak period. Really this need to be looked into, imagine when one is in pain and had to go through this agony which can avoided. I told Dr.Tan about it and he brought it to the attention of the nurse so to get the person in charge to see me but nobody came and asked me about it. I put this comment on google review on Mount Alvernia website but yet nobody contacted me about it for more than a week. But I will still give a 5 rating to those who had given a great service. To sum up Mount Alvernia Hospital is to go to besides NUH , MAH has the edge in people patient skillset, Dr Tan(Urologist) who works for Uro Health Medical Clinic. I had to go see him, post surgery at his Novena clinic and today at Mount Alvernia Clinic. Great service in both clinics too. Dr.Tan could you be kind enough to print this for all names being mentioned. The best way to makes a person's job meaningful is to show your gratitude and appeciation where is warranted. Thank You Team Mount Alvernia and Team Urohealth Medical Clinic. Sincerely, Eddy Ram

Writing this review based on DR HO HON KWOK, doctor in charge of H K HO Women and Fertility Clinic, #02-06. Absolutely disgusting experiences. My mother went to Dr Ho for her usual gynae checkup twice in the past year as he was her gynae since 20 years back. His attitude has become atrocious, and the overall service was terrible. At the checkup, the nurses and Dr Ho repeatedly asked my mother to do a mammogram (total of 3 times), despite her already saying that she had done it recently already. Dr Ho kept questioning if she was sure of it, indirectly pressuring her to get another mammogram done. When she kept refusing, he displayed his unhappiness and was rougher than usual during the checkup, causing my mother to feel more pain than usual. In addition, my mother asked questions with regards to menopause, and his reply (translated from chinese) was: "if a patient asked me when he is going to die, i wont tell him". WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR IS THIS? Every bit of professionalism and ethics was thrown out of the window, and at this point it really appears that he just wants to squeeze the most money out of his patients. If he, as my mother's gynae for over 20years, gives her such replies regarding her menopause, then who else is my mother supposed to look for to help? To all expecting mothers, if you are looking for a gynae, DO NOT look for Dr Ho ever.

I've had a couple of experiences at MAH. First one back in Aug 2021 when my son had to go for a day surgery when he was just 2yo. The nurses were very accommodating and took special care of him. Then in Dec 2022, my 4yo daughter had a fall and we brought her to MAH A&E and she got scheduled immediately to have a stitching surgery at close to 2am. The next morning, the pastoral care team paid her a visit and gave her a card. It was close to Christmas and the OT and ward were filled with Christmas cheers. What prompted me to write this review is what happened today at their new St Anne maternity and child building. I dropped my credit card and I only knew about it when I received a prompt on my phone that my default card on my Apple Wallet was changed. I went to the info counter and realised that the staff on duty (it was 28 Aug 2023, 3.30pm) had called the bank up for me to report loss. She even took extra precaution to cut it up and rejected my offer to throw my card away. I also noticed that she had even written up an incident report. A lost card can go to many places, but I'm so glad that the stranger who picked it up, sent it to the angel at St Anne's reception counter. Thank you both!

The waiting times don't justify the big premium pricing. 5+ hours to assess the results of an MRI and a simple blood test? Also tend to overcharge heavily: from the start, without knowing your diagnosis, they will write you up for a 3 night stay. Beware if you don't have a top insurance package 2 stars for the clean facilities and the decent docs

The doctor at the Urgent Care Centre was lovely. Can’t say the same for the nursing staff who were extremely rude with zero care and concern for the patient. I had to ask twice for a nurse to remove my daughter’s IV and each time the nurse’s attitude left a lot to be desired. How unfortunate given the heritage of this hospital. In addition, don’t go there for any kind of scan if you’re hoping to use your Medisave. I was told I could not use mine to pay for a CT because it was “after office hours”. Go figure!

I gave birth to my first baby in Mount Alvernia and I am glad I chose this hospital for delivery. The doctors and nurses were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I appreciate their sense of urgency and quick responses when I was in agony due to the consistent and increasing pain from contractions. My specialist and the nurse is the day surgery were the best... the administration counter staff at admissions however were a completely different story. At around 5.15am on Thursday, 1st February 2024, the Indian admissions staff gossiped in Malay to her colleague about her surprise that my insurance plan was a top tier plan for a private hospital because she said I didnt look like I could afford a premier plan by how I looked and by my job description... she chose to speak in malay to her colleague thinking that I wouldn't understand. Highly unacceptable behavior for an admin staff to gossip so openly in front of a patient based on the assumption that I couldn't understand Malay.

Brought my son there for a day surgery. The nurses and even porter (Malay gentleman who helped pushed my son's bed from the ward to OT) at the Day surgery OT and Ward 3 were incredibly kind and assuring. So nice to have them around helping me with assuring and coaxing my kid when the situation called for it. The hospital is lucky to have such compassionate and empathetic staff. Well done.

I have my 2nd born in this hospital on 12 December 2023 that was reputable know for best after care from child birth. My baby decided to come out earlier than usual and he was in the NICU for 4days, while I am bed bounded for two days. Feeling the separation anxiety really strong. With huge pain right away from the GA Caesarean. Everything was in chaotic, mentally and body drained. Other than thankful to my gynae and PD for saving my baby and me. I dedicated this special post to an awesome nurse that the first time in my life, I really well taking care by an angel. Ms. Ke Juan. Pardon me for not be able to remember her Surname. I will not forget her warm and gentle voice, repeatedly telling me to be strong, to breathe in and out, praise me millions times that I was doing so well, I was recovering so well. For a mother that in grave pain and experience separation anxiety, I am so grateful and thankful Ke Juan was the one taking care of me for the first and second horrible tough days. Sometime a mother that just gives birth, everyone tend to focus on the baby. First time in my life, Ke Juan make me feel I am too, need to be well attended to. Thank you so much for the caring, support and kindness. I will remember your care for life. Jolynn A Tan

Less than 20 minutes after arriving, we had medicines and were on our way home. Price was fair for the quality, speed, and professionalism of this private hospital. We live across the street from Thomson Medical Centre, but have had terrible experiences there. We’d travel out of our way again to go to Mount Alvernia. It’s worth the trip.

Utterly disappointed with 24 hour clinic. Brought my baby to this hospital due to fever. However, Dr Lim Jie Sheng who attended to us did not take a look at my baby (not looking or touching) then told us that admission to hospital is necessary for baby 3 months and below as per hospital's guideline. If this is standard of a professional medical practitioner in a highly reputable private hospital, I urge all patients to think twice before visiting this hospital.

Waited from 9:55am till 10:30am and nobody in the clinic bother to manage your expectation on how long more you need to wait when they have 3 counter staffs and 3 backend staffs - doctor & clinical assistants attending to one person (who can walk, speak loudly & chitchatting nonsenses). I decided to walk out when one of the clinical lady told the front line staffs that boss (assume is the doctor) instruct to give priority to his own patience and hold the health screenings. I paid in full for the screening despite incomplete screening so it just speaks on ethical practices of this pathetic hospital! One star is too many!

Was admitted here a few months back. And after seeing my friend being admitted in NUH. In comparison, they are way more professional. Hence I decided to write a review for them too. Came in to A&E on the 3rd day of CNY. And I can see they were under staff. But the waiting time was about 4hrs before I got admitted. Kudos to their laboratory staff too, for working very quick. As I got my blood drawn and did a urine test, within 2 hrs, you get your result. I was having serve abdominal pain that time, and they were trying to diagnose what is causing it. But couldn't find out and I had to be admitted. The admission was very smooth as told by my mum everything was settled in like 15mins. Staff was very detailed too. Kudos to your staffs for their professional standards and going the extra mile too.

(Translated by Google) After thinking about it for a long time, I still commented on it. The hospital is the place where people are born and died. Maybe you need to handle a lot of procedures every day. These procedures have been paralyzed. The first production of each woman’s life, from a girl to a mother, is completely absent. Help the most vulnerable! Today, such a thing happened, and my friends are constantly protesting to you. In fact, it is only a matter of justice and apology. It is necessary to take out the nurse’s behavior and review it (even if it is a temporary nurse, you will have a record). Avoid other people who are in your hospital. More than a year has passed, and that day, my friend will still be out of control and crying, and I am very sad. See your response, the child is born smoothly, the mother and the child are safe, but the trauma of the heart may not be erased in a few years. If your hospital is willing to open a comment for the public to comment, then it’s good. Handle this thing well.

Confined for 2 days, admission and discharge was smooth. Nursing staff at St Francis ward are friendly and provided superb nursing care, doctors are great and facility is top notch. However, I was bitten by mosquitoes while inside the ward. Unpleasant experience with the Business Office department on my hospital claims and didn’t even keep in touch with me during the claims cancellation outcome. Mt A record shows cancelled however GE processed the claim and even sent disbursement summary. Waited for the refund for almost two weeks but no money was wired back to my credit cards. I really have to call GE and Mt A to know whats happening. Mt A BO kept me waiting for the documents to be mailed to me, thus unable to file the hospital claim with my employer. Business Officers who handled my case, requests & calls provided very lousy service.

Third time visiting. Every time there is a problem with the way they treat you. Was told to go to the ER to see the doctor at 11:00am to get my MRI done at 11:30 as you can't do it without seeing a doctor. Was refused entrance and hassled around for 10 minutes until some nurse came. Then make you wait for 30 minutes to see the doctor. 20 min late for MRI. MRI staff really friendly. Back upstairs let me sit for an hour and still nothing. Went to reception only to be ignored by 3 nurses! Finally someone came and told me that I will have to wait to get results...after having to ask multiple times, I was finally told approximately another hour. So they tell you to wait for results, thinking about 10-15 minutes but in reality it's 2 hours because the radiologists are busy and not available to write a report. This is what you get for going to a private hospital. To mention: MRI staff was really nice as the lady who brought me to the MRI and back. Maybe the nurses should take an example and behave accordingly. They behave like they work in a government hospital. Maybe go to a western country and see how they treat their private patients but then again. Not even government hospitals in the west treat you like this. They would fire staff for behavior like this.

Excellent service from the nurses and doctors. However was badly let down by the business office. Am still waiting two weeks for business office to file my claim with my insurer. Was also overcharged during my billing step with a promised refund that I am still waiting for. Very difficult to reach business office and when I do, no one is able to give an answer, terrible customer service here. It is a shame that the first point and final point of contact of the hospital is the worst.

Pretty professional working personnel due to it's classification of hospital. Interior of room kinda run down due to it's age, overall experience was great, nice friendly nurses and staffs. There's motorcycle carpark and it seems free parking at level 3 multi storey carpark.

At least the nurses and doctors are here to help the children if they got lost, the parents and relatives blame me for not looking after their children. What’s wrong of getting a nurses or doctors to come and help. Bloody nuisance.

I consulted Dr Liew Yow Ming, an experienced down to earth Orthopaedic surgery to treat a lump on my right elbow. I wanted to get his opinion if I should go ahead an surgery with General Anesthesia (GA) as referred by another hospital. Dr Liew knew what's needed to be done and he made my lump go away in his clinic without complicated surgery which not only saves me thousand of dollars, but time and long recovery period plus the side effect of GA. I am glad I trusted my instinct to seek a second opinion with Dr Liew and I am extremely thankful to him.

Regret my decision of going here. Life long pain for going here. Had a very bad experience. Management needs to be stronger in maintaining the quality of doctors. Either they are too liberal or they dont care.

Coming here is a pain. Carpark lots are all fully occupied, with many cars waiting for free lots. Had to go to the nearby park carpark and walk over.

every seem fine until the bill comes and it is expected to pay at full despite giving a deposit and being told the next payment is weeks later.. and at last day they will give u the child upon full payment. and when u see the bill, they make it sound like its a norm. The only reason i chose this hospital was on the grounds that it was a religious hospital and not welfare of patients. if i had known you were out to glorify details and make a bill so high for a 2 room patient i wonder what it would be like for a single room. If this is the way singapore allows hospitals to delibrately use high charges and delicate moments, you give the wrong impression on the religious group you show at your hospital. that too has medusave included. Your public meals are limited and to pay the bill takes over 30 mins and final blow is to pay in full.

There's a cafe, and an area where they sell food...They sell sushi, ya khoon toast, bread, and there's a seven eleven. You can sit there. The hospital rooms are spacious

I wish the rating system had negative stars to reflect how bad the radiology service is at this hospital. this is the WORST experience I have ever had in a hospital in Singapore. I arrived promptly at 9:30 (my GP had arranged an appointment for me. I had to wait 1h until I went through a first machine. 30 min onward, they realised the machine they had put me in was too small. My arm was very uncomfortable / in pain during this time. I then had to wait another 10 minutes before they put me in another machine for another 40 minutes. I have never seen such lack of patient care and will never go back to this hospital.

Had my cataract surgery done here recently. Reception staff is nice and friendly. Nurses are great too, especially Mo Mo, who attended to me.

The doctor can't speak Chinese, and I can't speak English. The doctor only asked me three words to prescribe medicine for 200 Singapore dollars. Allergic to eat, shortness of breath, dizziness, currently waiting for tomorrow's treatment. There were Chinese nurses but they kept changing nurses to see me. Finally, another nurse who only spoke English and was not a native of Singapore asked me to pay and go. However, I haven't had an injection yet. She said sorry, I made a mistake. If your English is not good, don't go. The doctor is indifferent and there is a problem with the management. also donot know how to eat medicine, and I say I have some fever medicine but they still give me alot and …

Waited for more than an hour for a simple registration at B1 counter. Somehow the receptionist lady thinks it’s more important to answer phone calls & listen to long conversations instead of attending to a whole queue of patients right in front of her. She definitely got her priority right. I won’t be coming here again.

Nurses are good, but the team from the finance department I don't favor. 1. Day 1 admission, I asked for rough bill $, I was told if thing goes smoothly will be $7k to $8k, but end up 9k plus, we originally book for 3 nights, we only stayed for 2 nights, but we did upgrade from 2 bed to 1. It can't be exceeding so much. 2. After paying off $9k plus, they send me another bill $130 for companion cost which I already told the ward and counter I did not stay overnight. Than I asked what is the breakdown cost for that $130 than incharge Lee Cheng told me there are some misc charges added in of: Dressing-Pack Disposable: $13.52 Dressing-Opsite Post OP: $17.10. I asked for the today operation break down bills, there were so many items but I not sure why they did not include the 2 additional items that they wanted to charge me after 2 weeks. There were also many items that were not reveal in break down cost according to their policies. it their over look? I repeated myself that I did not stay overnight but seems like they did not understand. We had total of 3 children delivered in this hospital and we are getting this. Disappointing. Actually I did not look at my previous bill carefully not sure there are similar problem too. Lastly, it's only $130 bill, me and my wife can pay easily of our financial background, we are just wondering the billing systems of private hospital, somemore is a catholic church background organization. Sad to post this. Glenn Zhang 88110011

Delivered my first kid here. The nurses at the St Michael’s ward were warm, helpful and a big comfort to me in the first days after delivering. The room was very cozy as well

I am immensely grateful to Dr. Desmond OOi for his expertise, and genuine compassion throughout my treatment journey at Mount Alvernia hospital . Dr Desmond took the time to explain complex medical terms and procedures in a way that was easy to understand, ensuring that I was well-informed and involved in the decision-making process regarding my treatment. It was truly a relief to have a doctor who cared not only about patient medical condition but also show genuine care and concern. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have found such an exceptional doctor with a heart of gold. Thank you Dr Desmond and his team of medical profession for treating me.

The shuttle is useless here, definitely will get wet if taking bus here. The shuttle bus should be arriving in every 15 mins but it didn’t. The security guard lady in Assisi hospital who on duty at 1400 today laughed twice when see me wet, and asked me don’t get wet next time. it is very rude. As a hospital, it shouldn’t be so unfriendly to those who has no car and taking public transport. The raining plan for pedestrians has a big room to improve.

I delivered both my daughters at Mount Alvernia, most recently in Nov 22 and the elder in Sept 20. Mount Alvernia has the most exceptional team of healthcare professionals, providing very meticulous care and support. As a first (now second time) mother, all the nurses and consultants made me feel very much at ease and equipped me with the necessary skills to care for my newborn. I especially commend the staff at St Michael’s ward and the NICU unit for being very attentive, patient and empathetic to patient needs!

One of my worst nightmare! MA had always been my choice if my kids / myself needed to be warded. I’ve always had very good experiences here hence I’ve decided to give birth here and to my surprise, it’s one of my worst experience. First, I’ve opted for a single bed and they put me in their smallest single bed ward which everything is so dated and it’s very very small.. it’s not even their usual single bed ward. I’ve used to give birth in private ward of KKH and the nurses are really very helpful and experienced. Even their lactation nurse were so helpful and attentive but in MA, I’ve stayed here for 4 days in total, I have met the lactation nurse once only. She mentioned will come n see me today but I don’t see a single soul. Today I starts to feel slight engorgement so I’ve highlighted to the nurses but none of them did anything to help me. They just acknowledged and did nothing at all until many hours later, I’m feeling like carrying 2 rocks and it was so painful but all they can tell me is ‘this is normal!’.. it’s not my first pregnancy and I’ve given birth in KKH before so THIS IS ABNORMAL!!! Engorgement is normal but your service attitude is abnormal. This time round the experience is totally incomparable to the private ward in KKH. I am really very disappointed with MA this time.

24h emergency department is the worst one I've been to. Duty nurse with a very strong Malaysian accent was very unhelpful. She was more concerned about more admin work later than trying to learn what was my kids problem. And the worst? The balding locum (Melvin?) of room 6 on 23 July who attended to my kid was very snobbish, impatient, uncaring and sloppy! Immediately displayed a f face once we entered. He even forgot to prescribe one medicine that he said he would, wasting more time at the dispensary. Not going to recommend it to anyone! The reason I gave one star is because i can't award zero and had better experience at the maternal ward 4 years ago.
