At
the
Singapore
National
Eye
Centre
(SNEC),
Dr.
Ti
Seng
Ei
was
the
doctor
in
charge
of
my
eye
treatment.
During
the
3rd
check-up
on
13th
September
2022,
when
I
was
trying
to
describe
my
situation,
my
pain,
and
my
discomfort,
she
purposefully
disregarded
my
feedback
and
thought
that
I
was
just
complaining
about
her
treatment.
She
was
always
interrupting
me
in
the
middle
of
my
sentence
to
the
point
that
I
was
never
given
any
chance
to
complete
my
sentence
in
front
of
her.
I
remember
up
to
4
times
that
she
had
asked
me
with
an
annoyed
attitude:
“What
do
you
mean?”
when
I
was
just
trying
to
describe
my
pain.
Also,
she
told
my
family
members
to
take
me
to
check
my
mental
health
because
she
insisted
the
reason
that
I
closed
my
eyes
was
just
my
imagination
and
that
I
was
mentally
unstable.
Furthermore,
in
our
following
check-up,
she
never
let
me
raise
any
questions
or
concerns
about
my
illness;
if
I
ever
did
so,
she
just
ignored
it
or
explained
it
in
an
extremely
reckless
way.
For
all
the
time
I
saw
her,
I
never
had
enough
time
and
space
to
consider
carefully
about
my
questions
and
receive
a
thoughtful
answer
from
her.
To
make
matters
worse,
in
my
5th
session
with
her,
when
I
raised
a
concern
about
my
illness,
she
pointed
her
finger
at
my
face
and
immediately
told
me:
“SHUT
UP!”.
Before
coming
to
Singapore,
my
family
and
I
expected
I
would
be
able
to
receive
outstanding
healthcare
quality
as
I
am
a
foreign
patient
who
fully
paid
for
my
eye
treatment
without
insurance
coverage.
On
the
contrary,
what
I
received
from
SNEC
was
opposite
to
our
expectations,
which
made
me
extremely
disappointed.
On
30th
June
2023,
when
I
suddenly
came
to
Singapore
before
the
appointment
with
her
in
August,
when
I
told
her
I
felt
pain
in
the
lower
half
of
the
right
eye,
she
rejected
my
input
and
said:
“You
always
feel
pain
and
always
have
questions!”.
She
prescribed
me
to
check
my
vision
and
insisted
that
I
get
new
glasses
and
everything
would
turn
out
fine.
After
this
session
with
Dr.
Ti,
I
double-checked
my
eye
situation
with
a
Vietnamese
ophthalmologist
only
two
weeks
later
and
received
the
diagnosis
of
both
my
eyes.
He
urged
me
to
return
to
Singapore
immediately
as
my
eye
situation
was
so
alarming
to
the
point
my
symptoms
at
that
time
were
the
same
as
those
of
the
first
time
I
came
to
SNEC.
These
terrible
consequences
were
the
result
of
the
long
period
I
was
not
listened
to
by
Dr.
Ti
during
my
eye
treatment
and
ineffective
treatment.
On
20th
July
2023,
coming
back
to
SNEC,
I
was
sitting
in
a
wheelchair,
closing
my
eyes
with
overflowing
tears
and
excruciating
pain
in
both
eyes.
After
reaching
floor
6C,
my
parents
and
I
asked
to
change
the
doctor
in
charge
for
legitimate
reasons.
To
our
surprise,
all
the
staff
and
nurses
at
that
time
prevented
us
from
doing
so.
They
insisted
that
Dr.
Ti
was
the
best
doctor
for
my
illness.
At
the
peak
of
the
situation,
they
outrightly
told
me:
“There
were
no
other
doctors
available
but
Dr.
Ti.
If
you
insisted
upon
it,
you
should
get
back
to
Vietnam
to
see
another
doctor.”.
In
the
emergency
case,
the
fact
that
a
nurse
from
a
well-known
hospital
could
say
those
things
to
a
patient
is
absolutely
immoral
in
every
way.
After
enduring
agonizing
pain
and
frustratingly
waiting
for
a
considerable
period,
they
finally
let
me
see
Assoc.
Prof.
Anshu.
After
that
emergency
room
spectacle
at
SNEC,
my
parents
and
I
decided
to
follow
another
doctor,
Prof.
Donald
Tan.
As
expected,
he
found
out
my
eyes
were
full
of
filaments,
just
like
the
first
time
I
came
to
SNEC.
If
I
have
to
say
something
about
Dr.
Ti,
it
would
be:
discriminatory,
impolite,
and
immoral;
and
that
I
have
wasted
the
entirety
of
my
time,
money,
and
well-being
ever
since
Dr.
Ti
attended
to
me.
Since
I
suffered
unnecessarily,
I
posted
this
review
to
advise
future
patients
against
choosing
Dr.
Ti
Seng
Ei
at
SNEC.
