Want to feedback about the attitude of this guy named Fahar from NCCS billing department. After informing Fahar that I was billed wrongly, and asking him to reverse the transaction, he kind of blamed me for making things troublesome for them. He insisted that I should just try claiming the same bill in 2 separate payment amounts (medisave and cash) from my insurer. It's ridiculous that he is making their problem my problem. He kept insisting and when I asked "so are you going to refund or not"? He replied "if you insist." In the end I told him never mind, since he claims it's so troublesome to correct his error, I'll make it troublesome for myself instead and claim from my insurer for both amounts in different payment modes - which not only makes the claiming process longer but confusing for the insurer. I had to waste time to make multiple calls and emails to clarify with the insurer as they were confused. I also lost out on significant credit card rebates as the medical bill was a huge amount and they wrongly deducted part of it by medisave even though all along I had indicated that I want it billed in cash. Most companies would apologise and promptly correct their error if they make a mistake. To Mr Fahar, it's seems like it's the customer's fault when they make a mistake. Separately, we are also very upset with the attitude of this young Malaysian nurse at ATU. My father went for his 4th cycle of XELOX on 13 April, 2pm and was attended to by a young Malaysian nurse. All his previous chemo cycles were bearable but this particular round was extremely painful just 20mins into the chemo session. When he told the nurse that, she simply told him that's it's supposed to be very painful. My father then proceeded to ask another male nurse who repeated the same thing. When my aunt went to other hospital for chemo, they adjusted her drip when she felt intense pain and flushed it through with more fluid. Even a simple Google search online shows that the drip could be administered more slowly to reduce pain. Yet all the nurse could answer is "it's supposed to be this painful". I have no confidence in the training some of these nurses at NCCS received. Kindly advise on whether this is the SOP when administering chemo. Lastly to give due credit, nurses at level two who draw blood for pre-chemo tests are quite skilful and the reception at level 3 ATU have all been very helpful

I would like to send my greatest appreciation and extremely grateful to Dr Yong and the NCC crew members. My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer few years ago. Dr Yong has been responsible throughout the whole journey, sending positive vibes, smile and laughter to the patients. My mum had a midnight surgery due to internal bleeding . Dr Yong called me up immediately in the operating theatre once he had finish operating on my mum and assure me everything is okay. Now we had yearly review with him and he always had a smile on his face and energy to spice patient up! This is the worst place no one would like to go. You guys make it a pleasant place . Thanks much!

Perhaps I could share a little story that took place at NCCS Rad Oncology yesterday (27/9/2023). An old lady who was undergoing radiation therapy (RT) was lamenting that she feels terrible, she could not eat properly and could only manage to drink milk. A staff from LA 9/10 comforted and encouraged her by asking the sessions of RT she had done, etc. What the staff told her next was simple, yet magical. The staff said to the patient, "auntie, you have only 2 more sessions. It'll be over soon. After that, your appetite will recover, but it'll going to take about 2 months. Then you will be in time to eat during Chinese new year." The patient's mood was immediately lifted. A nearby uncle remarked, " the staff here are all very nice and encouraging".

The doctor that was assigned to my dad was unsympathetic and not compassionate at all. He didn't bother to explain or talk much to us during our many visits and just kept saying cancer is incurable. Make me feel that he just wants to get us out of the room ASAP. He never went through the CT scans with us unless we asked for it.

I would like to express my gratitude towards Dr Kennedy Ng & nurse Merilyn at NCCS clinic D. My uncle is diagnosed with Rectal cancer stage 4. Each time when I accompanied him to his appointment Dr Kennedy Ng was very friendly, patient & approachable to explain about my uncle’s condition. I am grateful & wanted to say a β€œBig Thank You” !!

Great that the government redevelop the National Cancer centre and optimize the space, put all the related services under one roof which makes it easier for patients to undergo consultation and test.

Lucky to encounter quality CT Scan staff @ NCCS, Ms Eunice KANG for her professional patient and love-caring help when my pioneer citizen wife went for emergency scan yesterday morning ! Ms KANG was extremely helpful especially when her right hand was less able to perform the usual pre-scan procedures... She was the silver lining over the darkening distant horizon, so to speak ! It has really made her day!

Experienced a mixture of polite and great staff and also terrible ones. The ones in entrance registration was the worst. As a whole I did not enjoy my time here at all. Even a with the app and coming for my appointment on time, I have been waiting almost 1 hr or more for all my visits. The consultation usually last 5 mins or less and I'm being charged at a private price. Quite disappointed.

Some consultation docs works like broker. Eager to push patient for surgery. No effort made to read up patient's records in detail before consultation till asked. It pissed me off when docs pulls out medical records and read when questions is asked.

Feb 2019. Not a nice place to be at. But this might be anyone's inevitable midway recovery stop in his life journey. At least there was a car park nearby; at least there was cafe just next to it; at least the nurses and doctors were attentive. Wished that the consultation wait could be shorter; wished that the payment and appointment systems could speed up; wished that there was more accessibility to basement Lab levels. And we survived it.

Went to level 1 specialist clinic on 02 Nov. Firstly, Doctor Chin is nice and very experienced doctor to consult. However, the reception could be better. When i went to collect the medication, I initiated to tell the reception I am under the company insurance group, and the reception gave a puzzled look and told me that I should tell them before I made the appointment. I do not need such unnecessary remarks or reaction and they should just simply allow me to fill the insurance group information, and review on how they can improve the process so that this administrative mistake can be improved. I suggest to improve things please train your reception to ask patient if they are making the appointment under insurance group as a standard procedure as this will help patients provide all information required to make the appointment. Another issue I found is that the reception told me because I am under company insurance they will be no invoice provided to patient. I know that clinic submit claims directly to the insurance group but patient not getting an invoice is very concerning. Do also note that when I go to other clinics like Q&M Medical they do provide invoice to patients even if it is claimed under the company insurance. The reason for giving the invoice to patient is for reconciling with the claims made to the insurance group with patient copy invoice to resolve discrepancy in claims. In short it is to prevent insurance fraud, where clinics or hospital could submit doctored claims and they is no way for insured patient to dispute the claims since they is no invoice provided to them. When I told the reception that other clinics also providing invoice in such circumstances and commented that is very unusual why no invoice is provided to me, none of the receptionists in the reception area could be bothered to even respond or engage with my comments/feedback and instead went with a "silent treatment" towards me. Now I find this very rude and unprofessional. They should very least acknowledge my comments and ask me to submit a feedback officially.

Came here for yearly routine check, first time in new building, clinical services did improve in waiting time as compared to old building. Definitely bigger space for clinics and waiting areas. However cafeteria area(level2) do not have enough seats for patients to eat food, had to bring my food to an alternate waiting area to eat instead. Bad space planning on level two. In summary, review level two space planning if you are going to implement a cafeteria area, if not remove the whole cafeteria instead.

I don't know if it's the system... But the wait is super long when there are barely any patients around. We were waiting for a good 1hr 15min for an appointment at 12pm. While I understand that Doc maybe overwhelmed with patients but I think it has to be planned properly. The patients are all weak due to their illness. Making them wait for more than an hour is totally unacceptable. Even a healthy person like me, felt tired waiting. What's more with patients who are ill. And the best thing- we saw the doc for 15mins only. Oh, and don't forget - still need to wait for the medication chit from the nurse before going down to the pharmacy. Another wait after wait. Perhaps a better planning is advisable.

Tried calling to place medication for my parent but it is unavailable. The line kept ringing but no one is picking up the call. Got one time the call was picked up accidentally and i overheard the lady is saying why the phones kept ringing. This is a HOTLINE to place MEDICATION, OF COURSE IT WILL RING! What kind of reason is this.. Might as well close down this Hotline.

Booked a health screening package with StarMed and one of the worst thing I hated was the invitation of a student to observe the consultation session with the doctor. First, the doctor did not ask for my consent and just told me it was his student. Second, during the consultation, he asked me to take off my clothes and lie on the bed and I had to politely ask the student to leave, something he should have done since I am a man and the student was a young girl. After a couple of weeks, I had a follow up to discuss the results and again there was another female student and again without my consent discussed all my issues with cholesterol, eating habits and telling me I was fat. Felt really disgusted with the whole incident and would never recommend anyone to StarMed. In fact, I shared the incident with my colleagues and advised them to go to other hospitals where they won't feel like they were being experimented on. PS: The only bad experience I had was with the consulting doctor. All the nurses and assistants were outstanding and professional with their service.

Convenient location, friendly staff and very reasonable prices. I did my full health checkup and got everything done quickly. What I really liked is that they occupy a few floors in the building and have all the necessary machines in one location. Denise their CSR manager was also a great help in getting my insurance payments sorted out. Highly recommended

There is a lot left to be desired in terms of service and professionalism. I had submitted an enquiry for an appointment about two weeks before, but did not receive any reply so I had called the clinic and was told that due to the purpose of my appointment, I can walk in. On the day itself, I was chided by the staff at the counter that I should have made an appointment rather than walk-in. The staff and dr had both failed also to inform what needed to be done and did not ensure that the necessary tests were completed that day. Incredulously, I received a call two weeks AFTER the appointment to say that the check up was incomplete and was demanded to tell them when I can come down again…I have not lost so much faith in a healthcare clinic before.

Visit the GP on 25th August morning. The young Chinese female nurse with long hair has bad attitude, not as good as rest of the nurse (except for short hair nurse as well). But her attitude very good when talking to her colleagues. Luckily the doctor is very nice, I think is Dr Chin. Hopefully next time is previous nurse here to do the registration.

Extremely poor planning at level 10 blood test dept. Been here few times with pre booked appt but always end up waiting for very long time. Arriving 20mins before appt time and still have 40 people in front , with each taking 10mins that is 400 mins of waiting, with only 2 station opened it will still take 200mins. Totally not acceptable for such a basic service in such a big hospital.

Nurse PENG XIAOHUI assisted my mother during a chemotherapy session, but there were several concerning issues with her approach. Firstly, despite my mother's complaints about pain and discomfort during the injection, Nurse PENG XIAOHUI persisted in inserting the needle into her vein. This continued until my brother intervened, as my mother was visibly in distress. Furthermore, Nurse PENG XIAOHUI appeared to struggle in locating the vein, even putting down the injector multiple times before the insertion attempt. It's worth noting that she did not use a vein finder machine throughout the entire process, which raises questions about her technique and adherence to standard procedures. The key concerns here are: Nurse PENG XIAOHUI's disregard for patient feedback: She continued with the injection despite clear signs of pain and discomfort from the patient, which is not in line with standard medical practice and should prompt immediate action to alleviate the patient's discomfort. Lack of vein finder usage: Given Nurse PENG XIAOHUI's difficulty in locating the vein, the use of a vein finder machine is a standard practice to minimize human error and ensure a successful and less painful insertion. Questions about Nurse PENG XIAOHUI's training and protocol: The incident highlights potential issues with the training and protocols followed by Nurse PENG XIAOHUI, as her approach to vein insertion and response to patient discomfort seem problematic. In summary, the concerns raised about Nurse PENG XIAOHUI's actions during the chemotherapy session warrant further investigation and reflection on the training and protocols in place to ensure patient comfort and safety during medical procedures.

I attended the clinic for a health checkup. Dr Yee, the radiologist and the nurses were experienced, professional and efficient at their job. I only wish I could say the same for the receptionist Denise, who had none of the above qualities. She was rude and lacking in professionalism. That would still be fine but for what happened while I was making payment, during which she made unnecessary and insensitive remarks about my private matters. Her remarks were overheard by a room full of people and it was very embarrassing to me. For this reason alone, I would not really want to come here again.

My mom had her op on 24/8/22 at SGH A&E then hospitalised 1 mth and was referred to NCCS threafter but due to infection so prescribing Amocillin that causes vomitting and then changed drug and has not started with any chemo treatment yet. Recently has 2 apps both arranged by NCCS for 10am on next Friday 11/11/22, PET scan at SGH & see doctor at NCCS clinic B, so which is to attend at 10am? Finally got another appt for doctor consult on 18/11/22 at 9:30am then change again to 4:30pm. To the patient themselves, time is a matter of life and death, at least must explain how we can manage the time better initially and reason for all postponing to show respect, this is very unprofessional and unethical.

Very unprofessional. I came back to get my testing result on the appointment date, but was only then told by the receptionist that the doctor is half day and some more won’t come back to this clinic due to COVID. I have then to be rescheduled to another day with anther clinic which is very far away. (If I know this would happen, I won’t even come to this clinic at first due to the distance) My time was wasted. Staff here should at least ensure that patient has been notified on time for any changes.

My first visit to this clinic because I needed to take sinovac vaccine. The customer service process is nonexistent. Clinic staff including the guard gave no or wrong instructions. For starters, guard told me to wait outside for a nurse to receive me… I was trusting enough to follow the instruction but ended up waiting for 10 mins and past my appointment time, only to see no nurse ever came out. So I decided to walk in myself against the guards instruction. Similar lack of attention persisted after I went inside. In summary, I arrived early for my vaccination appointment at 11:30 am and ended up waiting around for 45 mins. Please tell me what’s the point of an appointment? Vaccine took 2 mins; monitoring took 10 mins (when they said it should be 15 mins). In general not a place that inspires confidence or trust.

Seen so many patients and their accompanying people not wearing any mask. Staff did not even remind them to do so. It's NCCS and most patients have low immunity. When the wait is too long for the appointments, it gets really uncomfortable for us. FYI, reported to staff. No one came forward to address the issue. Guess these people are "the regulars" who disregard the regulations since no one reminded them about the rule.

Bad experience on services. 1. The customer service never returned my IC after verification, I only realised that after I left the centre for hour, I called them immediately, but they asked me to come back another time to collect the IC as it was Sat which closing at 12pm. 2. On the day of medical report review, appointment made at 1030am, After 25 mins, I asked how long do I need to wait for? The customer services person in charge just tell me still got 2 patients waiting in front of me unfriendly and without feeling sorry. Then I only able to go for review at 1130am, which is 1 hour later. The review only took 5 mins. So I waited for 1 hour for 5 mins review. Obviously this centre lacks of Doctors. There is only one doctor to do medical checkup and also medical report review, surely it will be late. Please learn to be punctual and increase the quality of customer services.

The good thing of Singapore government is their vision far ahead of others. When they decided to build something, it will not only limited itself within Singapore, it is planned to be worldwide level or at least Asia level. This National Cancer Center is named as "National" but in fact it is now so well known by the neighbor especially South East Asian.

The building is new and beautifully designed interior. So glad finally the healthcare workers all can now enjoy this new facility. Can NCCS do something to food availability here? 2 stalls operating on 2nd floor is ok. But it’s so expensive! A miserable box of dried mee siam with a small skin flake of egg cost $5. Coffee/tea about $3. NCCS shd give them rental free or just charge nominal utilities n dictate a broad selling price say not more than $3/meal or match reasonable foodcourt price. Already cancer patients spent so much on their medical bill least they can hv light simple meal here conveniently? Thanks to look into this?

Was at the Ambulatory Treatment Unit this morning with a relative. The staff that welcome us at the Registration, Mdm Diana Chan really make our day by her professionalism and patient centric care. She explained and illustrated the flow of events in details for us who is the first time there and apparently quite worried about the chemo procedure. A lot of reassurance from her and she keep looking out for us to make sure we did not lost our way. Her encouragement nearly make me teared, she said: "Not to worry, you can do it! You are still young" πŸ’ͺ

The nurse can work better in serving patient. they work very slow, and when i ask to help filling in insurance form it takes ages. when i call to check on the insurance form, they dont really bother. im really disappointed, dont said you are a specialist centre if you cant treat your patient specially.

Good and fast experience at this place. Managed to see the doc and did my scans within one day.

Except for one or two kind encounters, mostly inefficient and condescending staff (from reception to doctors) with an absolute unwillingness to help. If you can afford/choose not to come here, don't.

Facilities are alright but we bring our dad here for chemotherapy every week. Sigh. Where do I begin. My dad is undergoing chemotherapy and feels tired most of the time. With the National Cancer Centre, the whole environment makes it almost impossible for a patient to get some sleep while the chemotherapy progresses. It's just noisy and if it's not the patients next to you talking loudly, the nurses have no qualms about talking loudly to each other across the room. Just today, someone was literally eating mee siam right there so you can imagine the smells! I wish there was some quality control but, that this will be a hard one to change. Perhaps this was what Prof Tommy Koh was talking about

Nothing great here. The escalator only serve 1st n 2nd floor. The rest of floors need to use lifts. There are 2 lifts. Car park in the building is meant for the staffs to park. There is a small cafeteria outside the building. The treatment is on the 3rd floor for chemotherapy and opearating theatre. On basement 2 is for radiology scan n mri scan. It's also for radio therapy treatment.

Had a positive experience with the doctors here – they were all experienced, professional, and friendly. Didn't feel like I was being rushed out of door. Spoke to Dr. Tan, Dr. Chiang and Dr. Chin. Really grateful that Dr. Louis Tan took a lot of time to thoroughly explain my examination results to me and he also answered my questions, which might sound like no-brainer questions to those in the medical field, without any tone of condescension. The clinic is also really clean and they provide some light refreshments (bread, porridge, drinks, biscuits), which really help if you need to wait. The clinic also allows some degree of flexibility to the screening packages here. I do feel that the receptionists on the ground floor aren't as friendly as the doctors though but the persons managing the clinic's WA account and phone calls are very accommodating.

I have been calling the clinic the whole day but was on leave a voice message and we will get back to you. Trying to book appointment for my pre employment check. It's so frustrating.. Strongly not recommended since its so hard to even get an appointment not to even mention nobody pick up the calls.

I was diagnosed with hernia by Dr Shanker after 2 other doctors (not part of Starmed) were unable to do so. He was also the surgeon to fix my hernia. I am still not 100% recovered, but can say for now that all has been well. Dr Shanker and his team, foremost Felicia, who I have been in contact with the most, are extremely forthcoming on medical and organisational matters, very professional and just really friendly. I felt extremely well taken care of and can tell that Dr Shanker did a great job. I highly recommend him and his team.

Don't chat with their call center for booking appointments. They suck, turns out they don't book appointments in the back end in the system. We had to register appointment from scratch at the clinic. Bizarre

nice doctor and experience. nice ambiance except for the short haired staff of dr. chin..OMG. almost 2 years she still the same attitude. also scolding patient what to do acting she's a doctor. telling her im a just a patient and no idea what's happening on their side. never also contacted me or call me in advance for my next appointment as dr told me for almost 2 years. if you have personal problem gurl don't put it to your patients.

A doctor who takes his time and doesn't rush you out the door. Also a doctor who actually thinks with you and answered all my anxious question. Recommended.

Dr. Khoo is very good and explained things clearly but front desk staff service is poor. i. Advised us to go for scan but did not mention that need to fast becos of that need to wait 3 hrs at the scan center ii. We were given an appointment for followup checkup on day but I think in their system they booked a wrong day. When we came as per the date given to us, we were told we dont have appointment. Becos of this had to wait more than an hr to see the doctor. iii. After seeing the doctor the waiting time is longer to make payment and get the letter. There are more staff than the patients waiting but not sure why its taking a very long time. Its not just for us but I noted the same for other patients as well.

Came here this morning for my health screening. Dr Chin Koy Nam is a GEM. He is extremely patient and reassuring, he makes the whole consultation session at ease. I even plan to arrange for my father and sister to see him for blood pressure management. Clinic nurse is very friendly and proactive to help as well. Thank you for the effective service rendered. On a side note, this building is very comprehensive. They even have a surgery and endoscopy centre.

So what happen was this helpful indian lady Ms Nazeer (i hope i spell it correctly) is very patience with helping us to look for it until her colleague Ms Siew Chen came and tell her to take care of the counter as she has to go out for awhile, so this Siew Chen tell me "please stop taking out the sample, you will make it messy"!!!!!!! WTH!!!??? SHE IS DAMN RUDE! What is the point for samples then???? NCC, please seriously look into it, i do not hope that other patient will encounter such experience.

The new Cancer Centre is very spacious and airy. However it can do better with having a big food court. Choice of food is very limited.

😠 Long queue at the pharmacy. I had to ask an old lady to stop waiting and get a seat, I will let her know when it is her turn. πŸ‘πŸ‘ One of the better hospitals to visit. Modernised look and not too crowded. Don't be fooled by the negative comments.
