Came here to see a skin condition. Requires appointment to see the doc. Waited 10 min to see doc, 10 min to do a test, then 15 min to see doc. But had to wait 20 min to fix the next appt and then comes the killer. Waited an hour to get medication and make payment. To be honest there are just too many patients. All counters are already utilised so I am not sure what can be done to improve this. So I think what I can do is to help improve the ratings.

*Read till end for pro tip* PHARMACY IS THE PAIN HERE. Bottlenecked and making the experience to end up a very bad note. Bad efficiency and be expected to 1 hour and beyond. Machine to scan is badly placed outside pharmacy, Many people, even I, missed it! Tkfully I asked the staff inside but after that I saw and heard alot of pp end up queuing for the manual registration counter instead (registration counter staff repeated a few times "it's at the front outside") and many poor aunties and uncles have to stand and wait thinking that's to get the queue #. Waiting time is excluding the wait for doc consultation, which is much better now, and ALSO for the appointment counter/front desk. overall there are nice personal touches overall, and new place is nice. Just wish that someone managing the pharmacy dept will improve the overall efficiency (system wise, shortages of staff etc). no shuttle bus avail when I visited today (the poor old people). Pro tip: FREE DELIVERY/免费运送 (each person entitled to once a mth) so don't wait there if not urgent. queue at the registration counter lady to get your medication delivered to your home instead. Download health buddy to pay online Instead also to avoid queue. Pharmacy staff can help you print MC as well (Inform doc beforehand)

Difficult to get reservations as calls timed out at least 10-times on different days before answered. HealthHub is useless too as you cannot book or change appointments online with visibility like airline seats. The doctor who saw me was not friendly and would not answer anything beyond what I was referred to. Note that you only received Singaporean subsidy if your referral is from a polyclinic not the usual GP. NSC started its operations in 1988 after taking over the treatment of skin diseases from Middle Road Hospital, it is located as part of the TTS campus at Novena, and currently treats 1,000 patients daily.

Over-rated and doesn't deserve the title as a national skin institution. The doctors never conduct adequate and accurate tests to ascertain my skin condition yet concluded their assessment. No follow up. No medicine.

30+ years ago, I visited. I was terrible. The medication didn't work at all. But it was the behaviour of the staff, nurses and doctors that made me vowed never to go back there anymore. About a month ago, I visited again because my GP assured me that NSC had progressed a lot. Indeed, it was incredibly good. I was greeted at the entrance. I was shown where to go for my consultation and treatment. The staff at the lobby, the doctor, nurses and technicians were very polite and professional. And I was prescribed medication that actually worked. But I can't give it a 5 star grading as my experience at the pharmacy was quite bad. I waited more than an hour for my queue number to be called, even though there were so many counters open. The waiting time at the pharmacy was much longer than my consultation and treatment. I hope NSC management could conduct a work review to see how the pharmacy dispensing procedure could be improved. The pharmacy is the last point of contact with NSC customers. It is the final moment of impact of NSC's service delivery and overall management. Make the whole journey of your customer's experience great by finding ways to improve your dispensing of medication at the pharmacy.

No parking available at this building. There is only dropoff points. Their parking lot is about 200m and no sheltered pathway to this building. Need to go to polyclinic to get appointment to here for subsidize treatment. The waiting time to get appointment was more than one month.

Visited NSC for eczema and bumps appearing on my legs. Told that it was untreatable and promptly sent away, despite the research showing that there are ways to treat it. The doctor in charge has no empathy, and clearly just want to get her rotation over and done with.

Clinic H is absolutely terrible, the wait is insanely long even if you book 3 months in advance. NSC really need to optimise their operations and better gauge how many patients they can take in a day. It’s a shame that the only public skin treatment centre in Singapore is unable to solve such a simple issue which has been going on for years.

Zero star. My doctor was Kwong Hui Li. Waste time n money. So inconvenience to get there due to covid 19 as there were no shuttle bus. So I've to walk a big round. Luckily it wasn't raining cats n dogs. Less than 5 minutes consultation . Doctor was rude n impatient. Senior doctor (male) also here for show. I got referral letter from polyclinic. already waited for months to see Skin specialist but This is what I experience. Dispenser ticket machine was also down. Shouldn't waste time n money here even if it's subsidized 50% for Singaporean. For those who need a better doctor I feel like Google/GP is much better than doctors in NSC. These doctors take high salary but doing relax job

Terrible would gave a 0. My doctor was GOH CHEE LEOK. I kindly ask the doctor about my condition and my concerns not only did the he talk so harshly I was shot down by my concerns. I knew that the second covid vaccine cause me(some side effects which boost) to have TSW and also due to me cutting out on tropical steriod cream and he told me no and after that did not even follow up with what's the issue with it and just brush it off by saying oh your eczema can't be cured only thing you can do is use steroid cream (which I cut off). Not only that I asked about the 3rd booster vaccine but was shut down by saying if no issue u still can take it (clearly not helping my concern). He is also plainly rude by saying are your family rich? Like wth it would be nicer if he could phrase it properly like there's some option for you to consider one which is quite hefty another is affordable. I also asked about blood test and allergy test which he just plainly say which one instead of kindly explaining what type they have.

Have never encountered such a tremendously bad experience before. This is by far one of the most difficult company to reach out to. There is really nothing good about NSC. I've called them MULTIPLE times trying to book an appointment but am unable to reach them. worst part is, they don't even offer to call you back, so basically, you just need to keep calling hoping that they'll one day pick up on your call. This wouldn't be a problem if their app is helpful. sadly no, the app is as useless as the company itself. You cannot seem to be able to book a appointment on the app either, and looking at the reviews, others have similar issues as well. Morale of the story, I have no idea how I am suppose to get a new appointment. I cannot contact them and neither are they putting in the effort to contact me. Nice. To add on, the service there is quite trash as well. The staff always has an attitude early in the morning. If the service weren't so bad, I might be able to have something nice to say about NSC but it really gave me one of the worst customer service experience I've ever had.

Would echo what a lot of other reviews have been saying. The consultation is fairly quick with an appointment, but the pharmacy wait is painful. It’s common to spend over an hour waiting for your medicine. The staff seems to be incredibly busy and trying their best but there simply is too much to do and too little counters. Tip: if you are not receiving any new medicine, you can opt for your medicine to be delivered. There’s a $4 charge for doorstep delivery and free for locker delivery - do go to manual registration on counter 13&14.

National Skin Centre has moved to a new building, as of July 2023. Access to the canteen at the old building is still available for staff and public on level 1. As a long time patient of Clinic F and G during my adolescence years, I was scheduled for consultation on Level 6 of the new building in September. Registration self help kiosk is right at the lobby when you walk in, next to the lift lobby. Pharmacy is on level 2, registration for the medicine can be done at the two kiosks outside the pharmacy. If your number is still far, consider vending machines or canteen on level 1 or browse products. Connectivity infrastructure is extremely poor to the point that it is common to have zero reception. Connect to Wireless@SG or head outside to access data. Other than that, just wait and be patient as the centre sees thousands of patients every day

No system at all. I've been waiting for the appointment for 3 months. Received a call in the morning and was told appointment in the same day afternoon. If I cannot make it, have to wait for at least 2 month. I took urgent leave went there but doctor not available, another doctor look see look see ask me to come again on the next day. Got to pay consultation fee and appointment deposit again. Then counter say next day schedule full, ask me to go 2 weeks later. Then 2 weeks later i took leave again, the counter say I missed the appointment which is 13 days ago, deposit forfeited. Ask me to go 1 week later. Have been 7months since I first went there, spent hundreds of dollars, all look see look see take pictures playing delay tactics. Nothing else done.

My appointment time is 350pm on 11/12/23 today. I reach NSC and done registration all at 236pm and waited to see the doc. Till now it's 427pm. It's been TWO HOURS and way pass my scheduled appointment time, and I am still waiting in queue to see the doc. And the thing is, the clinic is not even half full with patients.

Don't bother going there expecting any quality. The processes are the most primitive in all of the healthcare system in Singapore. I have visited them for two years now, fr subsidised clinics and Mandalay Clinic. So far, nurses are quite polite there, and I applaud their patience in making do with their broken machines. Almost every time I'm there, the systems are down. The doctors are the main issue here. They are very entitled, knowing that they work at the "prestigious" NATIONAL SKIN CENTRE. Patients from the entire public health systems would get referred to them without competition so they don't care about you. Yesterday, I did a full face laser at Mandalay Clinic. Doctor Chua who did my laser was really unpleasant throughout. I was asked to wait for someone/something at a closed lounge with no instructions, and 40 min in, nothing happened. There was also no point of assistance in the lounge. No nurses or workers. Prior to the laser appointment, the referring doctor said that this doctor would decide the price during my first visit. When I met Doctor Chua, he gave his first advice for me to not do any laser treatment at all, because this cosmetic procedure could be more damaging than not doing it. While I appreciated that medical advice, by this time, I would already have paid close to $200 excluding earlier doctor to get referred here. Couldn't they tell me earlier how much it costs (in a reasonable range) and make it an SOP to say the "do-at-your-risk" disclaimer over the phone BEFORE I come? Now I have this sunk cost on my mind and I certainly wouldn't follow the doctor's best advice and pay $200 consultation for some steroid creams. Procedure was really painful, possibly due to the inadequate numbing cream applied coupled with my bad pain tolerance? In any case, no matter how much pain I was in, the doctor did not stop or offer any comfort at all. He just wanted to finish his job asap. Isn't it unsafe for me to be in so much pain (moving around, drooling and screaming) while doing a face laser procedure? Right after procedure, he left rudely without a word. When I got off the bench, I was still in pain. The nurse ushered me to a desk and passed me two rectangular ice packs (those used for frozen fish) to DIY-sooth my face. They are not useful at all as the face isn't a flat surface. Plus I had the numbing cream on, so I really couldn't feel where I was placing the ice pack on. There was no mirror. This was just a really odd and uncomfortable process. It would have been useful if they had applied a cooling pad on my face after the procedure. I thought that's basic. My face continued to swell up into the night due to the useless ice packs. The facility is simply SO under my expectations. Anyway, this pico-laser pigmentation removal procedure came to around $1000 give and take, excluding the time and cost of the referral from public health system. So there you go. I think I would go private next time.

Waste of time and money. Parking was impossible to find nearby and was all expensive. Was referred to NSC by the polyclinic and waited over a month for the appointment. All I got was a reminder SMS a week before the appointment to turn up. On the day of the appointment, I was informed by the PSA that the referral from the polyclinic was not eligible for healthcare subsidies. Had I wanted non-subsidised treatment, I wouldn’t even bother with the polyclinic referral and would just pay the non-subsided walk in rate. The only saving grace was that the PSA informed me about this before going into the consult and not after. However it was still a waste of my time I took off work and the pricey parking.

Messed up exp. Went to see doctor for 3 issues. Previously already consulted 4 doctors which all claimed that my issues are valid, one of it being dandruff. So I went for my referral to NSC, my doctor was senior consultant. Despite me telling him I'm able to see countless white flakes when I comb my hair every morning, this was verified by my prev. 4 doctors as well, yet this guy say don't have. The thing is he doesn't even want to carry proper check, he didn't want to use his hands at all. I then showed him a picture I took which show the flakes, he said it's reflection of the hair, when the picture clearly shows the flakes as well. Then, I told him my balanitis lasted for more than a year (red, swollen). He then said it's not possible, when a simple Google search will tell u that there're multiple ppl out thr who have balanitis persistently for a few years. I showed him and he says its excess skin. Lol. I also asked regarding hair loss due to visible scalp. Then this guy say compare my scalp to his scalp (he is balding). Then ask me don't worry and that's all. Oi, carry proper check will u? All 4 doctors I've seen previously verified the issues, he's the only one who said all no issues. Not professional at all, it was obvious he wasn't keen to conduct any check at all.

Long waiting time, doctors are young and not professional , the doctor spent bulk of consultation time asking procedural questions like name, medicine allergy , medicine applied instead of resolving the patient issue. After seeing the first doctor, have to wait for another senior doctor to clear the prescription, hence the time for consultation was delayed due to such sop. Medication was also a long wait worse than polyclinic

After reading so many negative reviews here, I was pleasantly surprised at how good my experience was at the NSC when I visited a week ago. It was my first visit and the registration was quick and easy. Once registered, I wait about 15 minutes and saw my doctor, Dr Chia . She was friendly and attentive, listened to my concerns and gave sound advice and assurance. Payment was quick too. The wait at pharmacy took awhile, but given it was where all the patients from different clinics collect medicine, it should be expected, and there were a lot of patients. However, there were plenty of seats around. The pharmacist was also nice and explained all medications in details. Overall, I find the staff courteous and efficient in their work.

Often visited here because of my skin condition, Eczema. However appointment slots are usually full so you’ll have to wait months just to get an appointment. First consultation fee racked up to $300+ SGD. Unhappy about that but subsequent appointments is much more better. Very professional Doctors here too. However due to COVID, there is no shuttle bus service. Which is a pain for a 15 year old going to appointment alone. Hard to find Taxi stands,Private hire/Grab is expensive as well. I’m impressed with the professionalism of the Doctors and staffs, but I have to agree that the wait time for the Pharmacy is really chaotic.

Very long waiting time because the doctor didn’t come to work on time. Usually 20-30mins late even if you are the first patient to see. But good guidance on ground floor as I didn’t know where to go at the first time. Good that they provide some refreshments at the medicine collection floor as the waiting time is long too! Be ready to spend 2 hours at least for 1 doctor appointment.

Horrible experience with senior consultant Prof Goh on Feb 8. He seemed very disinterested and barely took a look at my skin even though I mentioned a few times how my skin has gotten worse since I got pregnant. I wanted to show him the rashes on my feet and he just looked away. He suspected my rashes may be aggravated by me doing household chores - to which I replied no I don't do any - and he immediately questioned "so who is doing the housework"? Does he think I'm lying or what - why do I need to explain that? Asked me to choose which steroid cream I would like to continue using. Should I take your pay as well and do your job for you? I'm heavily pregnant now and he did not even bother to recommend the safest hair shampoo alternative available for pregnant ladies. The prior NSC consultant whom I visited back in Sep 2023 also failed to recommend the safest hair shampoos available for pregnant ladies. Thankfully the pharmacist raised this - only then Prof Goh asked if I would like to switch to a safer alternative. Isn't it the senior consultant's job to make the safest recommendations to patients? God knows whether the shampoo prescribed has had any effects on my unborn child?! Overall as a chronic eczema patient who has been with NSC for many years - this visit feels a lot like all of my prior visits - a medicine dispensing facility with no real value add or solutions from the consultants to help resolve your skin issues in the long term.

It cost $412 for a cyst removal surgery. Only complaint is the long wait time at the pharmacy. Management please fix this bottleneck!! The surgery took only 10 mins but medicine collection is taking more than 100 minutes already!!!

Wasted my time at this place. They couldn't tell whats wrong with my skin and i had to tell them what i think my skin condition is based off of Google and they just agreed? Like what? And they literally gave me the same medication as what woodlands polyclinic gave me. Whats the point of seeing a derma at a hospital if polyclinic doctors is able to do the same job. Just a overrated overpriced place! Ps: they take a deposit of $10 to make sure you see them for a 2nd time. Sus!

0 stars! I kept calling NSC appointment hotline for few days straight to change appointment date, no one answers! Healthhub also unable to change appointment date. Emailed pharmacy for repeat medication but no reply so I called to inquire. Multiple times, line engaged. When I finally got through, the lady was very very rude. I asked politely regarding the medication delivery date but she shouted at me rudely saying they sent SMS when I did not receive any SMS at all! Any new patients who wants to go for dermatologist review, I suggest you NOT to. Very bad experience with the doctors and takes HALF A DAY just for collecting medications, waiting for registration and payment and only 5 mins consulting doctor.

First visit was good, the doctor was very attentive to me and answered all my questions with enthusiasm, and was very patient (Clinic F) but collecting the medicine was a very long wait. Second visit, not so good, the guy who registered me at the counter was probably a newbie and looked stressed, kept sighing and face palming for some reason. I just wanted to get registered for my follow up consultation. The doctor who saw me for this visit was super impatient (Clinic G). Just told me to continue using my original medication, and could tell she was rushing me. Anyway, I was out of the room in less than 3 minutes.

First posted on 11 October 2020 on National Skin Centre’s Facebook page. Don't bother wasting your time and money here. The care advice that the doctors have here are similar to the ones given by polyclinic and private doctors as they are all taught to push topical steroids as the first option. Have been prescribed topical steroids for 2 decades by many general doctors with no improvement and decided to come here as a last resort as I knew they had alternative treatments and a specialised team. Told my doctor that I wasn't keen on topical steroids as stronger dosages have actually worsened my condition rather than improved it. My requests were ignored and the doctor continued to push steroids. She was so insistent on prescribing steroids despite me saying no and her attitude immediately became very condescending and dismissive the minute I asserted that topical steroids weren’t suitable for me. I had to prompt and ask for more info about patch tests and phototherapy before my doctor decided to explore alternatives. She called in 2 other senior doctors and their attitudes were similar. Aren’t doctors supposed to respect patients’ wishes? Doctor also does not seem to know what she’s doing. Prescribed PUVA soak but nurses quickly realised I wasn’t suitable for it and they were the ones who had to recommend an alternative treatment. Also received conflicting messages from doctor and the nurses. Doctor tried to push steroids and told me to moisturise liberally, of which I did the latter. However, when the nurses noticed my deteriorating condition, they told me not to apply topical steroids and moisturisers as it will aggravate my skin further. Very disappointing and traumatic experience to be dismissed by the people who are supposed to help you. Do better. Here are some alternative resources for those who’ve had a similar experience to mine at National Steroids Centre. The ITSAN facebook group is also a very supportive community. Super inefficient, been here 3 times my scheduled appointment times are at 2pm, never once have I been attended to on time. Waited for a hour after my scheduled time to be seen. What's the point of even giving an appointment time to begin with. The nurse was cold and curt on all my visits and told me it's normal to wait for a minimum of 30 to 60 mins from my time.

CHECK YOUR FEES THOROUGHLY BEFORE PAYING WHEN COMING HERE! Was almost charged an extra 50+$ for consultation when I was coming to receive my monthly treatment. When I asked a staff member why I was charged extra when I paid less than 20$ previously she seemed very annoyed. The gentleman next to me faced the same problem however he already paid and was told that they needed to wait for finance team to reverse the transaction which would take more time. Wait time here is always 1 hour plus which I understand because it is a public hospital but this sort of mistake should not be made. Not sure if it’s due to the carelessness of the doctor or nurses but please improve your payment system.

Pretty put off by a couple of things: 1. Long waiting times of up to/over an hour despite having a scheduled appointment time. 2. Encountered inexperienced residents doctor or the senior doctor who doesn't provide much help to my eczema issue. 3. Was told that I can only managed my eczema with topical steroids and no other treatment options were suggested or explored. (And all this topical steroids' can actually be provided by the polyclinic/regular GP) Why am I paying much more to supposedly see a skin specialist but not getting much help with my condition? 4. Long waiting time at the pharmacy to collect medication. Cancelled all my future appointments for 'reviews'. So I'd suggest paying a bit more for private skin specialist for a quicker resolution/treatment rather than wasting your time and being frustrated here. :)

Lack of follow up between doctors as a different doctor was seen each time - to the point that there is lack of care/proper treatment of the condition because of disjunct between the treatment given by different doctors at each appointment. I understand that you may not get the same doctor each time as a matter of workflow and as a subsidised patient. However, it appears that doctors do not take enough heed (if at all) of the previous consultation's advice and developments - which should have been written down in the clinic notes. Met a doctor for a particular condition that she specialises in (thus was allocated to her when I made my first appointment). Her advice after the appointment was: you are currently on medicine A - doesn't seem to work too well and thus I will lower the dose of medicine A with a view to likely transitioning to medicine B on the next appointment Next appointment: no longer seeing the first doctor, met by another doctor. (In fairness, am unsure if this is due to the first doctor discharging the case from her charge, or whether it is simply a matter of NSC's workflow that any doctor can be allocated to the patient, even if it is a follow-up/subsequent appointment about the same matter) Other doctor prescribes a continuation of medicine A on that lower dosage, with no transitioning to medicine B as previously indicated would likely be done. Doctor made no mention of any alternative treatment whatsoever (medicine B or otherwise) With a lower dosage of medicine A and no new medicines added, the condition did not improve and even worsened. Am unsure if this subsequent doctor simply did not read the clinic notes, or had no confidence in prescribing a change in medicine. Noted also that doctor prescribed an alcohol-based cream when my condition involves open wounds. Only realised this when collecting the medicine at the pharmacist - which is an entirely different process from the consultation. It is virtually impossible to go back to look for the doctor to clarify on the medicine given that there is a separate queue (and long wait time).

My Doctor and all the medical staff are tremendous and I would give them five stars separately. However. The pharmacy is somehow worse than in the old building. It's ridiculously bad. How this wasn't worked out and actually made worse is beyond comprehension. After waiting for 15 minutes I asked a fellow patron how long they had been there. An hour and a half. That's absurd. I simply did not have the time to wait. I left without my medication. I realize I could have got it delivered (once a month for free apparently) but it was too late for it by that point... Why didn't they didn't just do away with the entire pharmacy entirely and do it all by delivery - like DrAnywhere?!? Could have saved all that space and money. I'll still go but I'll tell my Dr every time that I won't accept medication from NSC because of this debacle.

The queuing system is so confusing and primitive. The number jumps all over the place. Patients are unable to estimate the waiting time and have to be physically stuck at the waiting area. They should change it to sms alert system or something. People who arrived after me also get to collect their medication first. Can't think of any reason.

Dr Ang Sue May is a very nice and caring doctor. I have a long history of acne since 2005, started visiting national skin centre since then, had never met such a detailed consultation doctor so far. She patiently guide me thru all the steps required to upkeep my acne skin. Best doctor i have met so far in my visit with National Skin Centre. Thank You.

Today I came across Dr Ong HuiMin Geraldine as my consultant. During my visit, it have come to my attention that she was unsure and impatient when explaining about the procedure. Firstly, I would like to mention that it is ok not to be bilingual. But to the very least, do respect someone who do not speak fluent English, like my mom. When my mum asked about the procedure, she brushed her off and began talking to me instead as my mom was not able to comprehend. Next, as a student, I have a fixed schedule. Due to the fixed schedule, I have more enquires on the appointment slots. Dr Ong was being very impatient, her tone was very unkind and her replies weren't clear at all. Above that, when I mentioned I couldn't turn up for the appointment slot , She highlighted that she could provide a MC. Therefore I have to come, if not she would not be able to give an explanation to her management. Lastly, the appointment system is very inconvenient. As mention by Dr Ong, I should secure a slot first. However, it does not guarantee that I would be able to go through the treatment in the given time frame. As a patient, I would like to understand the point of booking appointment at a certain time slot just for it to be push back. And I hope that the respective department would look into the matters.

I don't get why NSC is rated so badly here. If you are in some ang moh country, you may not even get a place like NSC that can treat your eczema conditions, and good luck with that. I have steroid injections here for my keloids and it's always a 5-star experience. Stop whining and start appreciating.

Waited close to 1hr to collect medication. Many patients are also waiting for that long. NSC can do much much better or learn from the polyclinic. There are no sign display to inform patient on estimated waiting time to your queue number. To reduce waiting time, NSC can also offer delivery services to home for medication like what polyclinic offered during covid and period

The doctors here are a hit and miss. Met a junior doctor on my first visit (after waiting an hour). She had to call in a senior consultant as she'd never seen my condition before. My prognosis was messily handled and bluntly broken to me. Met Dr Brian Chia on my 3rd visit and he's the best doctor by far. He gave careful thought to review my medical history and was very assuring unlike the previous doctors.

So much appreciation and respect for Dr Ang Sue May 💖 Am amazed she remembered me months after my prior visit! My consultations with her are always a joy - she's approachable, sincere, and generous with her wit and skincare tips. Thank you so much for really listening to my feedback to adjust your treatment!

Zero star. The appointment line is impossible to reach. It directs you to the website. My mother needs to book an appointment urgently for my father who had just completed a surgery and radiotherapy few months back as there is a new skin tumour on his face. They don't even know how to use the Internet but the appointment hotline keeps asking them to go to the website. How do I reach the hospital or doctor in times of urgency? Terrible customer service!

Have good experience despite all the negative reviews. Booked an appointment and got to see the doc pretty fast with minimal waiting timeb(<10mins), everything went smoothly from taking queue to registration to consultation. The doctor seemed a little new but was friendly and nice. She also asked for a senior consultant (whom is really nice too) for confirmation of what she thinks my symptoms and treatment plan should be. One thing that made the experience even more positive and made me feel that I'm in safe hands is that the senior consultant did call me after again while I was waiting to book the next appointment, and reconfirmed minor details and asked me to go for detailed checks as he saw my records were a bit scarce. Would highly recommend.

Booked appointment for 1.40pm wait till 3pm still can't see the doctor. Have to go back to feed my baby. The "helpful" nurse advised the junior staff that I can say just cancel the registration and wait another two months for appointment as though I'm not standing right in front of her. And I thought of going to NSC believing in their professionalism and expertise. However the junior staff was very pleasant. Even though I have to wait so long she's sincere in apologising for my wait. To that senior nurse there.. if you are so jaded just quit your job lah.

Dr Ang Sue May from FC1 is very good, friendly, understanding, attentive, observant, lovely, approachable and full of empathy and grace. I feel very warmly touch by her professionalism, expertise and knowledge. She instantly know my problems through observation without opening my mouth to pour out my medical conditions. Indeed she is my 神医. Trillions greatest thanks to her consultation. The waiting time for the front registration counter at 6A is reasonably fast.

Was told to scan my registration slip at the pharmacy to get a queue number. Didn't put on my glasses but vaguely read a number 1123 but no queue ticket was printed out for me. So I thought maybe the machine had ran out of paper. Proceeded to shop within the pharmacy while waiting. After half an hour, something told me I'd better go check with the counter. True enough, I wasn't even registered in all the while. Wasted 30 mins and there after waited for another hour to get my medication. Don't understand why such a national specialist hospital could give such long waiting time for medications. A staff should be stationed at the check in kiosk to guide patients in checking in. I am sure I am not the only one who experienced this. Next time I will bring my sleeping bag here for a good nap while waiting..

We had our first visit on 6th Nov 2023 as my mum has skin infection on her foot. The doctor who consulted my mum addressed all the concerns and said to give OTC medicine but did not direct us to collect the medicine at the pharmacy. We also had a terrible experience at the payment counter where a staff named, Mr Nicoyilee was rude to my mother. When asked about whether to collect medication from the pharmacy, he replied, “huh” indifferently. This is the worst experience I had in a public healthcare setting. Please get your act together.

Emailed in for a non-subsidized appointment. Got an email reply after 10 days for an appointment 1 week later. My appointment was on time (when I went a few years ago, I had to wait a couple of hours). My consultation was professional and NSC is honest and reasonable about pricing, unlike a lot of private clinics, which quote you 1 thing, but then charge more. Unlike other reviewers here, I did not need any medication. There are very few taxis, so make sure you have a car-hailing app installed on your phone if you need a taxi to get out of NSC.

I went to NSC expecting better check the lump on my cheek. The first appointment, the doctor was in a hurry and said it’s an epidermal cyst and needs an excision. I was fine with that if it was an epidermal cyst. However, on the day of the excision, the doctor was in a hurry and when she opened it up, said: oh, it’s not a cyst! When I asked what it is, she said: we’re not sure. Not sure? How can you suggest an excision, open it up and not sure?

Super smooth and efficient process! Came here for my acne and skin growth issues and they handled them all within the centre, though the doc didn’t help much with my acne. Nurses were especially nice and helpful. Thank you 🤩 (side note: getting a referral appointment from polyclinic took about 2 months)

Time taken to meet the doctor was acceptable. Problem is after seeing the doctor. There were only 2 counters and at times one. I waited for almost 40 minutes to make payment and schedule for next appt. I thought that was all. Next have to go down to 1st floor Pharmacy. The queue is min 1 hour. 😲. The fact is that I was asked to pay private rate but I am getting public service? I had to pay double the price to secure and appt which is $135 instead of $55 because my referral letter is from a GP. But to get a letter from Polyclinic I need to spend almost a day to get queuing and waiting at the Polyclinic. Well I accepted that but since I am paying a private rate shouldn't this means getting a private service at least??!! There must be a better way to manage this. I had to leave to go back another day just to buy and collect medicine. I was told unless I got at 8am in the morning and waste another few hours?! I cannot understand! Please explain why we need to pay private price for public service??

Im extremely not happy with NSC. Due to my hectic schedule, i always depend on their notification for my upcoming appointment. However, i did not receive notification and end up missing my appointment. The healthhub was down for a few days and not able to send notification as well. My illness is critical and require blood test and medical review. I called NSC twice. 1 told me to walk in on following Tuesday whereas the later told to wait for the next appointment. The contradiction and poor service make me extremely angry. The person in the phone didnt even apologise. I wish for an explanation on this matter

Be prepared to wait for hours even though you have an appointment. Sadly, some creams are only available at this place. Had it been made available at other places or patients with repetitive prescriptions are able to collect their medication elsewhere it would be a much better experience. Imagine, all you need to have is to have a simple consult but yet you are waiting for more than 2 hours and it’s not even any a&e! So many years and yet procedures are still as old school as ever and no changes even though the world is changing. Had the medications been made available at other places, so you think we would even bother going to NSC?

Bad experience with Dr Chen QiPing and the administration process at National Skin Centre as a whole. Wasted my time and money with the consultation with Dr Chen. After fixing the date for day surgery, i was told they can only carry out partial surgery and i had to come back another day! In the end, i was referred to another consultant at CGH, with charges of course.

The small cafe outside pharmacy charged the mixed rice of 2 meat 1 vege of S$6.80. Unreasonable expensive with the small portion!!! I asked the staff and she said set by her boss and it is normal price. But it was not normal compares to even the city area. Perhaps the National Skin Center in-charge could investigate it. At least, the price list of food should display to avoid dispute.

Despite getting an appointment in the morning and several months ahead of time there is a considerable wait. It's also a ridiculous policy that both parents aren't allowed to accompany their child to an appointment. Apparent from the many other low star reviews, look elsewhere.

This is one of the few places that charges a booking fee. However, even when someone takes the effort to postpone the appt more than 3 days in advance, it is not possible because no one answers the only appointment line (multiple times!). It is also not possible to change via healthhub, with a default message saying dates are not available. So why is the pt still expected to pay the penalty/ booking fee for "missing" an appointment when the appointment line was not able to assist with postponing the date in the first place?

Had my follow up review there on 18th Nov 2021. Centre's SOP well managed/run. Probably one of the best among all the Government Specialist Clinics/Centres I have been, right from registration to consultation, getting next appointment, pharmacy to payment. Senior Resident Dr Ochi Harumi spent a good amount of time listening to my issues, conducted physical examinations and requested for lab testing to ensure everything is covered and made my long awaited trip there fruitful. Thank you very much.

Today, I had an appointment with Dr. Tan Wei En Daniel at the NSC, and I wish to express my gratitude for the exceptional service. Dr. Daniel Tan was not only highly professional but also remarkably friendly and helpful throughout. The nurses at the center were equally warm and welcoming. As a regular visitor transitioning from the old building to the new one, I must emphasize that the new facility is not only incredibly spacious but also well-designed. My 8:40 am appointment started promptly, highlighting the efficiency of the center. Furthermore, the medicine collection process at the pharmacy was quick and hassle-free. Overall, my experience was awseome, and I appreciate the high standard of care provided by Dr. Daniel Tan and the entire team at the NSC.

Compliments to Dr Ang Sue May. Had a great experience during my short review appointment with Dr. Ang today at NSC. Well, let me put it this way. If you have a skin problem/condition that has been bugging you for many years and finally you decided to go to a medical centre, in hope to find solutions, or at least a true professional to give you good, positive advice, well look no further. Dr. Ang is the answer. I've only been to NSC for about three, four times? Assigned to different doctor/specialist every single time. And yeah i can proudly say Dr. Ang is the best. Not only she speak in a warm, friendly manner, but what stood out is she gave me important pointers in relevant to my condition. Which, i personally think is the primary reason why we all seek for medical advice. TO GET SOLUTIONS. And Dr. Ang perfectly gave me just that. Whatever the outcome going to be till my next review in four months time, at least i know somebody truly understand what i'm dealing with and i was given pointers that i very much needed to hear. Thanks alot Dr. Ang!

Not sure why reviews so bad, staff were concerned with long Q/waiting time so they were quite efficient to process patients to the next step. Book appointment was out of there within the hour unless your consult is more complex than the usual. Maybe can look into fixing the slow internet connection in the new building, so tech savvy patient can make payment on app and leave asap. New building is very nice and clean but need to fix the internet reception issue.

Billing/next appointment scheduling to be improved. Staff were free but area have patients waiting which was due to the system calling and they couldn't do much on it. Most unacceptable was the wait at the pharmacy. It took 90mins for me while I observed others who came later than me being served first. Half of the counters were empty and even have some inpatient patients shouting about the long waiting time. Other reviews shared my view and it was really bad. I will not wait at the pharmacy ever again and shall use their delivery services instead for future. On another note, this is a new building but the tele reception was zero. You can see many people hanging around at the entrance as they try to seek for reception rather be online during the wait than to be sitting non-entertained for their turn to be served. It was just a very unpleasant experience.

Wait time is always very very long (at least an hour or even more) even when given an appointment. Wait for consult… Wait for appointment…. Wait for medications….. Review appointments are also crazy far away (probably pointless by then) and good luck if you try to reschedule (you may need to wait another year) NSC should learn from polyclinics - barely waiting for more than 15mins if an appointment was made

Was examined by Prof Leow Yung Hian. One of the most affable and good natured senior docs I've ever met. Very polite, professional and methodical. Did not cut corners or jump to conclusions but went every step of the way on the diagnosis. Not in a rush to push medicines unlike most docs. Also took time to describe the condition simply before prescription with a remarkable choice of words that will keep one comfortable throughout the whole appt. A ray of hope in the medical profession! Highly recommend!

I seriously think there is a problem with collecting meds at their pharmacy dept. The wait is 45 mins just to collect ur meds n if u want home delivery there is only ONE counter n it's at least a half hour wait cos this ONE counter performs 3 other functions besides taking details for home delivery. In this time when we are trying not to encourage crowding the pharmacy was packed and there were many elderly in the crowd !!. The seats were all taken and people were standing around. Worst thing is when you reach the counter they tell you that home delivery is ONLY for prescription refills and not for new medications!! Shouldn't this be highlighted at the start of the Q?? Maybe the Skin Centre should learn something from the NUH regarding how to be more efficient.
