Just
a
warning
for
others,
it
took
+3
months
to
cancel
my
membership.
I
chose
not
to
be
on
a
fixed
1
or
2
year
contract,
to
give
me
flexibility
to
cancel
anytime,
and
I
was
okay
to
pay
the
highest
monthly
rate
which
was
around
30%
more.
I
initiated
my
cancellation
mid-June,
and
was
redirected
to
+5
ppl
to
delay
the
cancellation
process
(e.g.
pls
email
this
person,
wait
a
few
days
for
a
response,
I
get
a
WhatsApp
msg
"are
you
sure
you
would
like
to
cancel?",
yes
confirmed,
okay,
wait
a
few
days,
I
get
a
call
again
to
persuade
me
to
stay,
then
I
need
to
email
this
other
person,
wait
a
few
days,
email
gets
forwarded
to
multiple
departments.)
So
almost
3
weeks
later,
they
confirm
the
cancellation,
but
they
tell
me
I've
passed
the
cut
off
point
to
cancel
my
direct
debit
by
a
few
days,
so
they
charged
another
month.
Then
they
remind
me
that
when
I
first
joined,
I
already
paid
the
first
and
last
month
of
my
membership,
so
they
obviously
will
not
refund
that,
and
my
membership
will
need
to
extend
another
month.
(I
didn't
realise
at
the
time
of
joining
this
was
a
tactic
to
keep
you
on
a
bit
longer
when
you
try
to
cancel
-
so
just
take
note
of
this!)
Then,
with
the
mini
lockdown,
the
gym
was
closed
for
4
weeks
(understandably,
this
part
is
not
their
fault)
but
they
would
not
consider
sticking
to
the
original
end
date
and
refund
me
the
difference;
they
just
extended
my
end
date
by
another
4
weeks.
My
membership
finally
ended
on
Sept
28th.
I
don't
necessarily
blame
the
staff,
this
is
just
a
company-wide
adopted
approach
to
delay
ending
all
memberships.
On
a
plus
note,
the
instructors
are
great
here,
and
I
will
miss
the
classes.
