Unpleasant experience. The instructor was mean as I saw him taking off his microphone and told a first timer to get out of his class while the first timer struggled to figure out the right move at the beginning of the class (it was only 5mins into the class). Instructor didn't demonstrate while we were working out. He only briefly demonstrated right at the beginning or asked his regulars to show the movements. I find it rather unprofessional as I paid to learn from the instructor not the regulars. For one of the exercises, I looked at the other students to learn the right move as I struggled to coordinate my movements, the instructor came to me and spoke with his microphone "you don't have to look at others, I explained it just now. I was speaking English." I'm not sure of his intension cause all I wanted was to try to exercise correctly by looking at how others do it since the instructor didn't teach properly and was just walking around shouting with his mic. Overall the gym facilities were alright but the attitude of the instructor is a big turn down. Wouldn't recommend to go to Jeremy's class.

Atmosphere and equipment were great. Receptionist was friendly and helpful. However, was quite disappointed in the instructor we had. He did not explain the routine and equipment to newbies, did not bother to correct form and instead just walked around shouting instructions. He also focused on interacting with only the regulars in the class. Much can be done to improve the experience for first timers, which will ultimately be in Barry’s interest.

Been here a few times (attaching some pics from last year as well) and quite enjoy the tough workout. And it’s really tough , the min heavy weights recommended for men is 10kg each hand ? That’s hard! The instructors are quite nice and encouraging thankfully and also the facilities are quite clean Also there’s a drinks bar outside that you can order smoothies before or after your class Overall a good place for a physical challenge …

Love the class, but I don’t like the management. I was visiting Singapore for the first time and signed up for the introductory 3 session class. On my second session I mistakenly signed up for the wrong location and when I showed up Rachel, the manager at the raffles location told me there was a spot so it was fine. When I went in for the last of my 3 sessions, she told me I couldn’t join because I showed up at the wrong location for my second class. She didn’t try to do anything to remedy the situation besides try to sell me on a single session class which is $46. She kept saying it’s my fault for not reading the fine print…does anyone read the fine print? I’m not from Singapore and this was my first Barry’s experience. I thought this was very bad customer service, especially since she made no mention of forfeiting my class when I showed up at the wrong location the second time. I am extremely disappointed that I wasn’t able to join the in and left Barry’s with a bad experience.

Great facilities. The style of the class is a little unsuitable for people who are not familiar with using weights. Some teachers make the effort to correct your form. Others just walk past you and don’t really care.

I have heard a lot about Barry's from some converts so thought I would check it out. It's a reasonably good work out but is essentially just repackaged circuit training, so not quite sure what the premium is for. Pros- - Running in particular has lots of useful HIIT stuff where (if you're pushing yourself) you'll be working very hard. This is where the magic happens, so good to focus here. There's a million HIIT workouts available for free online so this is easy to do yourself though... - Music is nicely in tempo with the exercise intensity. Worked very well for pushes on the runs - Lots of people working hard around you - good for motivation Cons- - due to the rapid change over of exercises the instructor is BUSY! They have about 10 seconds to explain and demonstrate each exercise. No time to help participants with technique which is important for things like snatches where I saw some truly ugly lifts - The bench / floor work has gone for variety at the expense of good functional work. Lots of pointless / vanity exercises, plus you're stuck with one weight that is selected at the beginning. This might be a challenge for some lifts, not for others - Forgot the main "Con" in my initial review. This place is INSANELY expensive. For reference, I train at a premium gym around the corner. It offers 40 classes a day, with at least double the staff to student ratio and about 5 times the floor space. It also has a pure gym section with weights and cardio kit. I pay 2/3rd what I would pay at Barry's.

Great vibes, but there’s very little guidance from the instructors. Limited toilet cubicles as well, and they aren’t very well-maintained especially for the prices that you’re paying… hairdryers weren’t working too.

Tried out Barry's via the trial on their website (3 classes for $39). Amenities The amenities provided by Barry's were one of the best I've experienced so far in any gym that I've been to. They provided lockers to store your things, gym towels to use during your workout, a cold mint scented towel to cool off post class, and bath towels to shower with. Shampoo and body wash are provided and there is hot water most of the time. There are water dispensers there and you can order a shake there (average $13 per shake). Class experience Where it was generally more chaotic for me and my friends was during the class, where they boast that every class is never the same as previous ones. While true, that meant that all the exercises they did were completely new to us. The instructor only demonstrates the exercise once and expects everyone to catch it. We spent most of the time copying the other participants there and wondering if we were actually doing it correctly. The music and mic can get a little loud and disorientating, but it was generally fine for us.

Unfortunately really poor experience. Music is a way too loud to hear Instructors. Instructors provided no value as they can’t be heard and do not even monitor posture - it could have been a recording and would have made no difference. Glad I just used the trial pass and not more than that. Only thing great - the toilets and toiletries used.

I love everything about Barry’s Singapore - the space, its aesthetics, the people, the great vibe and energy. My favourite instructor would be Rachel - she’s got so much great energy to share and her classes never fail to get me all pumped up. I would go to a 7 or 8am class for her. It’s a great community at Barry’s. If you haven’t try it already, i’ll highly recommend going with a few friends and make new friends there too.

Great workout experience with Arms and Abs class led by Ian. He took great care to make sure beginners like myself were well oriented, and charged up the class to make sure all of us were pushing out our all. Highly recommend!

I love Barry's for its intense workout and mostly friendly instructors. However, I've had a less pleasant experience with Shiqeen, who comes across as rude and acts like a difficult instructor during class. I've been with Barry's for a year and actively avoid her classes unless I want to be in a bad mood. The after-service at Barry's was also horrendous. Unfortunately, I tore my ligament and couldn't attend Barry's, so I requested to freeze my package. However, I was told I had to pay $20 for administrative charges, and even after multiple emails, I had to follow up with them for the next course of action. Honestly, I really like Barry's, but the aftercare service leaves a bad taste. I hope you guys consider this feedback and work towards improvement.

Always Great Service & an Awesome Workout @ Barry's Raffles! My wife and I have been going to Barry's Raffles recently, and it has been awesome! The team there have been truly outstanding and always attentive to customers. The workouts are action-packed and positively intense. Barry's Bootcamp has some amazing instructors that we have come across. Courtney, Cassandra and Shiqeen are all highly competent instructors. They manage the classes superbly - Instructions are clear, the workout is well-designed, and the music is on point. You leave each time feeling refreshed! Special shout-out to Rachel, Lindsay, Shawn, Mike, Syafiq, Simran, and Lutfil! Thank you for making each workout such a delight. From helping you store your shake in the fridge to welcoming you with a warm smile, the team is kind and makes the workout there all the more special! Keep it up Team Barry's!

🥳 to working out in a night club. EDM + red light = guaranteed distraction from you physically dying. Go here for the atmosphere, if you care about posture and quality over quantity, maybe try something else. Bonus star for their smoothies being 😋

Booked via classpass. Reception was friendly and showed me the configuration for the treds. Studio and changing areas are really nice. There were 30+ pax in the class and didn't hear any check for newcomers or injuries. A few people in class had their tops off...Generally, I couldn't hear any instructions through the whole class and didn't find the instructor helpful or friendly. It's an expensive class given the ratio of instructor to pax and that half the class is on a treadmill. Personally, I feel there are much better studios out there when it comes to circuit/strength/functional training

Been working out at Barry's over a year and more! Really like how the instructors are always pushing us to greater milestones over and over again :) Jeremy is really nice and always encouraging us. His instructions are clear and classes are always well planned with awesome music. Comeeeeee for his class :)

Great atmosphere and a social thing to do with friends, but don't think I will go regularly as my main form of fitness... Nothing that you can't do on your own in a gym for a fraction of the price.

Great mix between cardio and weights. Overall an excellent workout, but get some ear protection if you don’t want to get permanent hearing damage, depending on the instructor it’s louder than the average nightclub!

I really like it! All good!!! Why 4*... Because they should do something about the mic. We can't blame the teachers... They do their best but we (I) can't hear properly the instructions.... A bit frustrating

if you are looking for a gym for strength training, this is not the place for you. however, if you are looking for a place to be motivated to move and exercise, have an active lifestyle, here is the place for you. you get to choose your weights, however, you will most likely be using the same weight for all the prescribed workouts which may be too easy or challenging for some exercises. not a fan of running and you can't run away from it. coach to students ratio is also super off. no correction or guidance on posture/form. on a side note, LOVE that towels are provided and mint scented cold towel is also provided after class! great for wiping down the body and feeling refreshed! and also the dyson hair dryers and high quality soaps in the toilets. expect loooong queues and waiting time!

very disappointed with barrys. visited on 9th september, 1040am class my friend dislocated his shoulder during a lesson, and when he told the instructor, he just told him to leave. upon telling the front desk he dislocated his shoulder, they did not offer him ice and just told him to sign the form and leave (despite him being in alot of pain). overall a really bad experienced and i am utterly disappointed with the instructor and the front desk who did not show an ounce of concern for my friend. do take note if you wish to try out barrys.

This is the go-to place if you're looking for a tough HIIT workout routine + good ambience + nice music. One of the better run gyms with helpful staff (compared to the other gyms with stringent and unreasonable rules). The premise is always kept clean and they go the extra mile to make you feel "special."

Experience fantastic facilities and services with Barry's family, perfect for those seeking intense training. Embrace the hardcore workouts with a no pain, no gain mentality – it's truly rewarding. Then to conclude the session on a high note, I always go indulge in a Barry's Shake for effective recovery and rejuvenation. It's a fail-proof way to lift your spirits post-workout. Cheers!!

Coming to Barry's and learning to push myself week after week has been great! Even though the classes are hard (every time) I feel stronger and more confident. I also want to call out Cassandra - a wonderful Barry's instructor who has encouraged me since the start. Her classes are so varied and I always leave with a sense of achievement. Cassandra is also such a caring instructor - always checking in and helping me tailor my work outs post some injuries. Thank you for being so wonderful and pushing me every time! Completed class 140 today...here's to getting to 200 and celebrating!

Really great for an intense work out. However, I would worry it would be easy to get hurt if you didn't already know what you were doing. So might not be the best place if you're new to working out. It's nice that they have the smoothly bar only had one so far but I find the protein powder had quite a strong taste but it was satisfying

Frequent Barry’s a few times a week, but today, I was a bit frustrated with the management. I came to the front desk only to find out I was the only DF for 8:40am. Was quite disappointed so asked the studio manager if I could cancel or change to another class at Orchard, she told me I couldn’t do that but told me to do treads instead. I can’t do fast paced running due to an injury, but she kept pushing me to do it. Left shortly and missed my spot for this particular class. I enjoy going to my regular classes, but today was a damper in my mood. Management is extremely inflexible to make changes on the spot. Probably wouldn’t frequent as much due to today’s situation.

My team and I had a corporate level buyout with Barrys Raffles Place and the experience was superb. Our clients loved it and we had organised 3 buyout with the assistance of the crew and our favourite instructor Ria Chen. Special mentions to this 3 ladies including Studio manager Rachel and staff Lindsay for always being on the ball and helpful towards my team and our guests. They always give ideas on how to make our event more fun and engaging. Not forgetting Ria always try to customise the class to suit all our guests regardless of fitness level. We loved her energy. Overall Barrys has a very positive energy and always just good vibes only! Will highly recommend!

We worked very closely with Barry’s Raffles Place team of Rachel, Derrick and Lindsay for 3 private buyout sessions over a few months. The support from the Raffles Team was just excellent. All our clients had a wonderful experience working out together. Instructor Ria Chen was also our instructor for all the 3 private sessions. All of us are amazed by her charisma, energy and creativity. She even went out of the way to help us create an Instagram reel! She is simply the best! Can’t thank the Raffles Team enough. For sure we will be back in 2023!

Been to Barry's for over a year now. I can safely say this is one of the best gyms around in Singapore which I have tried and I have been to most of the mega gyms in Singapore. You name it, I've been there. Is it expensive? Yes Can the workout be replicated elsewhere with the right equipment? Yes But what you get are the intangibles. Instructors are friendly and will push you to run faster and lift heavier. Especially Rachel, good luck trying to take a breather in her class! In a good way. Contrary to what people think of gym staff, the instructors and service staff here are super friendly and actually remember you by name. You can also tell how professional they are through the way they handled the Covid-19 crisis. Best thing is, you don't have to be locked into a contract to get a workout in Barry's.

Instructor Shiqeen are superb RUDE. It is my first time visiting after sometime being unwell. I tried keeping moderate move, following my body and avoid interval. Instructor keep insisting that i followed her Instruction and force me to use interval as well as the treadmill speed. Utterly absurd. Definitely horrible experience. Finally understand the reason her class is half empty. Instructor name is Shiqeen Abdullah. You made my evening as bright as diamond! Meh

My training experience at Barry’s has been amazing. The awesome facilities, the energetic vibes, the friendly service folks, and most importantly the cleanliness & hygiene precautions - all make for a great experience. The protein shakes that are kept ready post your work out add to the delight. The trainers are patient, encouraging and inspiring… and when you train along with others, it is way more motivating than a solitary training session. Beginner or Pro - I would highly recommend this bootcamp. I visit once or twice a week for the high intensity sweat…
