Lower Peirce Reservoir ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ง is yet another testimony of how beautifully manicured Singapore ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ is, and we say this with utmost respect to all parties involved. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ We were transported into a different dimension ๐Ÿž๏ธ as we wondered along the trails leading up to the reservoir. ๐Ÿคฉ It has always been a wonder for us how turning different corners bring about different experiences, and all in a matter of an hour. โณ In such a tiny space, we see two entrances ๐Ÿšช๐Ÿšช (Casurina, Jacaranda), numerous walking trails ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ(Bamboo, Costus, Oncosperum), a broadwalk ๐Ÿ‘ฃ, huge ancient trees ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒณreaching heaven-wards๐ŸŒค๏ธ , beautiful antique seating๐Ÿช‘, fishing spot๐ŸŽฃ, a mini "dam" with a walkway. Look for signage that will tickle about feeding the wildlife there ๐Ÿ˜‚ also observe carefully and you will find careful deliberate planting of various new seedlings ๐ŸŒฑ in the "jungle" This is one of many beautifully curated multi-functional spaces to make Singapore a garden city, that we, oh, so love ๐Ÿฅฐ ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’– ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’žโค๏ธ It is an easy and safe walking trail for the whole family to follow ๐Ÿ˜Š Just be careful on wet days where the path may be a little slippery. In any walking trail in Singapore, bring insect repellent โœŒ๏ธ Take your time and soak nature in! Enjoy!

We love the quiet and peace of Lower Peirce Reservoir Park. The place is ideal for a weekend family picnic or exercise. The broadway along the edge of the water (Oncospermum Trail) is superb and it leads to Costus Trail and Lower Peirce Trail. Lovely place for natureโ€™s lover.

I finally managed to go on a morning run after I got a rare full weekend off. I took a detour from my usual route and thought I'd try heading towards Lower Peirce. It was a punishing series of rolling hills, but the view -- as with most things one works so hard for -- was so worth the effort.

Ideal for short walks throughout the day. This is a very well kept park. The wooden boardwalk is slippery in the morning and need to be careful walking on these.

It's considered slightly on the small side of nature walks around the country, and the hiking trails here are really crowded with small groups this time of year. There's usually a roaming monkey along the trail, but nothing really all that dangerous as long as we kept to ourselves.

Lower Peirce Reservoir is a hidden gem nestled amidst the urban jungle of Singapore, offering a tranquil escape into nature's embrace. From the moment you step onto the park's grounds, you're greeted by a symphony of birdsong and the gentle rustle of leaves, transporting you to a world away from the city's bustle. The main attraction is, of course, the reservoir itself. Its calm waters reflect the verdant greenery that surrounds it, creating a picture-perfect postcard scene. Whether you're taking a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk or simply soaking up the tranquility from a bench, the view is undeniably mesmerizing. But the beauty of Lower Peirce Reservoir goes beyond the water. The park boasts a lush rainforest teeming with life. Keep your eyes peeled for playful long-tailed macaques swinging through the trees, or listen for the melodious calls of birds. There's a sense of adventure in every step, as you never know what fascinating creature you might encounter next. The walking trails offer something for everyone, from leisurely strolls to more challenging hikes. The scenic Peirce Trail, in particular, is a must-do for nature lovers. It winds its way through the rainforest, offering stunning views of the reservoir and the surrounding hills. Along the way, you'll pass by historical markers and interpretive panels that tell the story of this unique natural haven. If you're looking for a place to relax and unwind, Lower Peirce Reservoir is the perfect spot. Pack a picnic basket and find a shady spot under the trees, or simply curl up with a good book and enjoy the sounds of nature. The serene atmosphere is sure to melt away your stress and leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

A sensational spot to visit in Singapore ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ! I can't believe with all the condos and HDBS and concrete jungle that you could physically travel back in time to experience one with nature once again! When you enter the reservoir you can't see a single skyscraper, or building apart from a golf course just opposite the other side. With a variety of nature walks, picnic spots, fishing spots and a boardwalk along the reservoir this is surely a sweet place to come and relax no matter alone, with family or especially with a special partner! Last week when I visited I stayed for quite a while, I managed to see wild monkeys and turtles up close, which not even Singapore Zoo would not let you in close. Would 10/10 recommend this place, what's also good is that parking is free as well, although limited so when on weekends you should try to come a bit early.

Lower Peirce has always been a go to place for me to breakaway from work & city life. It used to be a favourite place for those living around Upper Thomson & Ang Mo Kio to visit, but foot traffic seems to be decreasing in recent years. The best timings to visit are on weekdays, at around 4-5pm, when the sun is lower and there is virtually no one else there. Occasionally, you may catch a full orange sky during sunsets there. However, in my opinion, Upper Peirce is just a touch better than Lower Peirce in terms of view and atmosphere.

First ever trip to Lower Peirce Reservoir. The pathway leading to the reservoir seems really new, clean and safe from wild boars/piglet thanks to heightened โ€œpillarsโ€ underneath it. Lookout for wandering squirrels and monkey during the short hike. Very nice place to catch the sunset.

Lower Peirce Reservoir is Singapore's 2nd reservoir, after population needs outgrew MacRitchieโ€™s capacity. Completed in 1910, it was renamed Peirce Reservoir in commendation of the services of Robert Peirce, who was the municipal engineer of Singapore (1901 to 1916). Today, it attracts outdoor enthusiasts, joggers, cyclists and families out for a peaceful environment to get away from the stresses of COVID and economic environment.
