Very very far away, better to take a taxi to go there, otherwise the bus stop is hard to find and a long way to go. Lots lots of lizards, and they will appear suddenly while you’re walking. A large area for observing the wild birds which is very educational for kids, but as it’s a wetland reserve, the construction are not very good. So it’s better to wear long socks, otherwise the sands will fill your shoes. Generally a good place for exploring, hiking and adventures, but not suitable for leisure walks, really needs good physical strength.

Fun outdoor place in Singapore for some wildlife spotting. Really love having my morning and evening walk here with family. We are excited to see wild crocodiles in Singapore. The pavement are easy to walk for children and elderly.

Nice place to walk and enjoy the nature. Not so crowded if u come early, like 7 am or so. Pay attention to the birds β€œsinging”. Use the sound to locate them. Occasionally u will see some birds grabbing some fishes for food ~~~ Take your time and walk through the different trials. Well renovated and toilets are available.

A place with lots of greenery, that will be interesting for nature lovers. Marshy wetlands with varieties of birds and insects. If you are lucky you may get a chance to spot crocodiles. Quite place for long walks, with less crowded surroundings.

Great back-to-nature excursion to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. The walking path is well paved and maintained, making the walk very comfortable. Beautiful seafront view with Johore Bahru across the sea. Sighted birds, monitor lizards and fishes in the water. Note that mosquitoes are rampant, insect repellent will help

Tread through a vibrant emerald labyrinth at Sungei Buloh. Here, where the air hums with the symphony of unseen insects, monitor lizards bask on sun-drenched logs and the legendary spotted crocodile might lurk beneath the rippling surface. Follow winding green paths, dappled sunlight painting your steps, until you reach hidden bird pods. Nestled amongst the mangroves, these creative sanctuaries offer a front-row seat to nature's avian ballet, where feathered jewels flit and pirouette against the backdrop of a vibrant ecosystem. So come, explore the emerald depths of Sungei Buloh, where every rustle and splash promises a captivating encounter with nature's wonders.

Singapore's no.1 nature reserve. Too good miss... perfect for nature lovers. Go early and enjoy the walking trails, enjoy nature but also 'swampland" odour at certain area. Don't forget sunblock, water and mozzie repellent. You will want come back again and again.

This is the famous wetland reserve that the migratory birds may stopover during their long journeys. I'm not a birdwatching expert, but the reserve has lots of helpful guides and signboards to help you identify the birds that you may spot. I'd say the reserve is divided into a western region and a eastern region. If you have limited time, skip the eastern region. Most of the points of interest are on the west, including the boardwalk and of course the wetlands. There's a small area meant for you to spot mudskippers and horseshoe crabs. It could be a little smelly for some people though. Apart from the plants and birds, there are also some larger creatures that you might spot. One of them is the monitor lizard. If you are lucky, crocodiles. The best option to get here is to drive. Because you want to be prepared with lots of water, snacks and perhaps a change of clothing and shoes. Raincoats or umbrella, proper headgear and sunglasses are highly recommended, not forgetting mosquito repellent. Binoculars would be nice. Admission is free. Parking is free.

Gorgeous wetlands, occasional exotic birds and insects to spot if you’re lucky. Bring some insect repellent and some covered clothes to reduce bites, and a water bottle to keep hydrated.

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve with an area of 130 hectares was officially opened on 6 Dec 1993. This was our first visit there. It is a beautifully maintained reserve with nicely paved boardwalks and clear signage. The best time to visit is early in the morning before the sun comes blazing down. There is limited parking space at the Reserve. Public transport is very convenient. You could take the TEL to Woodlands MRT and then hop on Bus 925 towards Choa Chu Kang at the Bus Terminal and get off at Kranji Reservoir Carpark B. The Visitor Centre is a 5-minute walk away. We were lucky to spot many monitor lizards, birds, butterflies, fruit bats, wild orchids, and at a distance, a half submerged enormous saltwater crocodile. Mosquito spray is strongly recommended, together with some drinking water. There are toilets at both the Visitor Centre and the Wetland Centre. The coastal trail links both centres, and the walk takes about 20 minutes if you do not stop to admire the surroundings. There are many lookout points along the way and also side trails. There are numerous trails that you can take at the Wetland Centre, and they offer spectacular views of Johor, mangrove swamps, and also the birds feeding on the mudflats. We spent about 3 hours exploring the area.

Quite a chill walk. Lots of photographer and nature enthusiasts. U see birds, lizards and otters. If you are lucky, crocs. Better to drive there than take public transport. My kids love the nature walks. We took about an hour to finish the whole journey with 4 elderly people on board.

Possibly the best spot for nature trails and birdwatching in Singapore. Been here many times and happy to see a new cafe has opened at the visitor centre. Not easy to find a bite around here so a good addition!

Nice scenery with lots of animals to see. Only thing is it can be a bit hot when the sun is out. Otherwise just hope for wind. Can see mangroves, storks, herons, owls, monitor lizards, crocodiles, spiders, other birds.

Lively and lovely place . I am glad that Singapore is turning this nature land to more accessible for people to visit. Unfortunately there is tons of rubbish at the wetland . This is not because Singapore is not cleaning the park but they comes from the ocean . I think picking the rubbish might be challenging because of the mangrove roots . Hopefully one day the selfish people can stop littering …

What a truly fascinating place ! We drove up here not exactly sure what to expect but the place really surprised us with its characteristics. The wetland has a lot of interesting points of interest and if you like exploring the outdoor spaces then this must be in one of your must visit places. They say people have spotted alligators / crocodiles in the wild - though we weren’t that lucky. We did spot some wild bats πŸ¦‡ and various other creatures. The mud flipper was one such interesting salamander. You can see Malaysia across the straits of Johor / Singapore straits, which was quite cool.

Had some time alone listening to birds - though I was quite annoyed by the murder of crows who dominated one part of the mangroves (as well as some of the humans who were talking really loudly) But that's more reflective of my inner state than anything else. Anytime is a good time to come (maybe except in the rain) and I hope I can dro by when the winter migrants stop by and the area is full of birds

Wonderful hike with my sister with cooling weather today. New vending machine discovered near to toilet. Chef-in-Box serves wholesome chef-cooked meals in a box, using fresh ingredients without added colourings, flavourings or preservatives. They use cutting edge snap-freeze technology to seal in all the nutrients, so each meal is guaranteed of its freshness and yet nutritious. And they provided table and chair, of course fan too. Very comfortable places to chill. See photo.

This was our first Singapore visit and we visited Sungei Buloh. We were welcomed by John and he showed us a python enjoying the rain and showed us the walkway. Whole route was amazing. We couldn’t do the big loop due to onset of heavy rain but loved every minute in park. As it was raining no taxi would come that far and our saviour John Chua helped us by catching a bus plus paid our bus fare as we did not had cash and waited at railway station to ensure we are not lost. Thanks a lot for helping us find our way and make us feel at home John. You made our Singapore exp. 5 star πŸ™

My favorite park in SG, go there regularly even though it's not near my home. It's the best park to see wildlife, and not limited to birds. Never fail to see a water monitor lizard each time we visit. You can even see a crocodile or the otters if you are lucky. Best of all, it's peaceful in the evenings even on weekends. Only drawback is the staff will be chasing you to leave by 7pm. Nparks should extend the closing time to 7.30pm as more wildlife will appear in the cooler evenings.

It's cool walking along the paths even at noon. You see birds, squirrels, monitor lizards, the rare crocodile, mudskippers, barnacles, cicada sounds, and lots of trees. You can see Johor from the shores and even Malaysia mobile works here. Definitely a good trip away from the city to watch birds, listen to the waves splashing against the mangroves, generally peaceful. Free entry. Take bus 925 (Mon to Sat) from Kranji mrt's side, alight at Kranji Reservoir Park B (carpark actually), cross the road and walk past the side gate to the visitor centre and onward. 925M operates on Sundays, and goes all the way to the main entrance.

I really enjoyed the space. The walkways were well constructed, and they made it really easy to see the sights. There were many beautiful sights. However, it was really heart breaking to see so much plastic and other forms of garbage along the shores.

A good place to walk in the morning with family and friends. Easy walk. If the walk is too short for you, you can also add on the coastal trail. Along the way, you can look out for birds, butterfly, etc. Spot a kingfisher this morn.

Highly recommend arriving just before opening time (7 am) if you want to avoid crowds. Great for a walk or birding. Paths are well defined. There is no concession here so bring water. Great for the photography of migratory birds. You need a 400mm lens or more. Watch for the crocodiles. We saw a couple of them. We also saw eagles and egrets and kingfisher.

The waterfront views are great. Monitor lizards chilling in the sun on the trail was just amazing too. Few of the spots were a let down due to the parade of loud selfie seekers. Remember to pack your snacks and water bottle. No picnics allowed, but the whole trip back and forth in the sun will get exhausting without some nourishment.

Very nice afternoon walk, surrounded by wild life of the non-dangerous sort... As long as one stays on the walking path and don't do stupid things. My first visit after years of procrastinating because I thought it was too far away. My first lesson about migratory birds: why there aren't many in July/Aug. 🀦

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is a very huge place, when you walk in to it you feel like you're in a forest (actually it is one). You can see types of animals and plants there, for example of animal are monitor lizards and squirrels. But if you're lucky you may even get to meet a crocodile 🐊 there. Well Sungei Buloh is definitely a great place to go if you're a person who likes to explore new things.

Great times with our family today, some parts of the coast walk is closed. Good experience for children but watch them carefully. Beware of the intelligent monkeys and potentially dangerous snakes and reptiles. Managed to see a crocodile today! Will return to get the legendary Tailless giant croc next time.

Great place to go for the weekend, and family friendly too. Pretty easy to walk about. Saw crocodiles too, perhaps it was not the right season, so we didn't see a lot of migratory birds. There is a shuttle bus service from Kranji MRT station. Check out the timing though.

It's our national park n kept as natural as it can b. Admission is free. Boardwalk is built to make d park friendly for children n old. Small compact wheelchair can enter n move ard d park rather smoothly. There r shelters but rather far apart so it's best one comes equipped with a poncho (umbrella... can't see much). Although there r natural elements n creatures, to me it's still quite a safe park after all. Enjoy d beautiful mangroves that line d shore n spot d catfish n crabs. B careful not to step out of d pavement n destroyed d many mushrooms/toadstools/fungi that grow freely on d dead logs. Have fun exploring d park!

personally, i love SBWR. I usually come here to go birdwatching and it’s quite a great place as you almost always see something interesting. The bus will take you to the visitor centre most days, and will take you to the wetland centre on sundays and public holidays. even though it’s very far for me, it’s definitely worth it! Many many birds here! got many lifers here, and most birders here that i have encountered are very kind and will point you toward sightings. was lucky enough to catch a juvenile buffy fish owl once! hoping to see it again. Even for non birders- it’s a good walk with a touch of wildlife. it’s a relatively common sight to see collared kingfishers (you hear them very often) as well as the estuarine crocodiles. when the tide is low, you can see quite a few mudskippers in the soil. if you are planning to go, definitely bring a camera.

This is a little secret space in Singapore. It's a walk on the wild side and takes you through the marshlands and wetlands of an outstanding space. It easy to walk yet quite exciting given the views of nature and Malaysia across the causeway. Go on a weekday to avoid the loud speaking tourists as silence on this walk is perfection to see animals birds and so much more .

Come early, enjoy the walking trails. The eastern park has built up walkways and features like the Kingfisher Pod. Gets a good view of the straits. The western part are the tidal ponds which would take an hour to loop around. Some public members may be noisy which would inhibit birds and animals, so avoid them if you want to observe and pick out their calls.

Awesome place to look for crocodiles or birds. Inspired me to take up photography again. Be sure to read up on proper safety in encountering crocodiles, the sightings here are daily and they have been known to come up on to the foot paths.

A therapeutic walk that is away from the usual bustling city and crowded Park Connectors. A good respite time to immerse yourself in Mother Nature. But of course, be careful of crocodiles and other reptile creatures. After all, this is their home.

One of my favourite nature park - lot of fauna to spot. Beautiful landscape during high tide and lots of waterbirds during low tide. And of course fauna typical for a wetland from mudskippers to horseshoe crabs to monitor lizards. And watch out for those crocs :-)

It is surprisingly quiet (as long as u avoid human beings who come in grps n screaming at top of their voice) but full of life!! Keep a look out for the elusive crocodiles and otter family. The stray dogs will follow u for a distance but generally harmless... juz remember to bring ur trash along with u and dont litter. Rubbish bins are rare sight here in the footpaths but understandably so

Wonderful place for dates/family outings/light exercise/change of pace. This place is simply amazing, all for the low low price of $0.00. There's all kind of animals there, horseshoe crabs, hornbills, crocodiles, mudskippers, golden orbweaver spiders, monitor lizards are just a few that I spotted within my two trips here so far. Be sure to pack some water, insect repellent, and an umbrella in case dark clouds start looming while you're there. Also be sure to hold onto your hat at some of the more open areas as the breeze can be pretty amazing. Do be sure to read through the park rules to make sure this reserve continues to be a wonderful place for future generations.

A good place to touch nature, especially mangrove. Take mrt to kranji stop and take bus 925. There are four routes and coast line has onion-like buildings. Great family outing to help the teenagers to forget about playing electronic gadget, other than taking photos!

Get there by taking the free shuttle service (available only weekends and on Public Holidays) from Kranji. There are 4 stops in total - Kranji MRT, Sungei Buloh Visitor Center, Sugei Buloh Wetlands Center, and Kranji Marshes. It's very convenient if you time your visit for each stop carefully. Be prepared however to take the public bus 925 when the shuttle service gets full around 1pm to 3pm. Enjoyed the walk at each stop, and the boardwalks were well-maintained. You'll see many bird watchers. It's generally less crowded and a much more enjoyable nature walk than at MacRitchie as all the trails are paved (no mud) and there's somehow no mosquitoes there. So comfortable attire like sports shoes or sandals (hiking boots not needed) and light sports wear (shorts, t-shirt) are perfect.

Inaccessible but worth the trip. A place where if you heighten your senses, you can see a lot of creatures that lives amongst us in their natural habitat in one of the last mangrove swamps in Singapore. A good educational tour to bring the kids and children along, where they can see a lot of insects, reptiles that we don't usually see in the increasingly urban jungle we live in. Lucky to see quite a fair bit this trip...

A great place to go to spend your time. Best to visit early morning. Easy to reach via public transport. The area on the way to the reserve looks unlike anywhere else in Singapore - almost underdeveloped compared to the cityscape across the island. Has its own charm. Unfortunately or fortunately we didn’t see crocs during our visit.

located on the North easterly tip of Singapore, the sungei buloh wetlands is probably the country's only last untouched piece of nature. Yes there are bridges and concrete pathways around the wetlands (which isn't large when compared to any of the reservoirs) but it is as close to nature as you will find in the urban jungle that is Singapore. The walking trails have bird lookout points in selected areas and we were lucky to see a salt water crocodile hanging out in the mangrove. Parking is quite limited and so is shelter when it starts to rain in the middle of your walk. A great place to visit when you want to escape the hustle of city life.

  • 4/5 Vivian Y. 2 years ago on Google

Lovely nature walks. You can look over to Malaysia. Very popular with bird watchers. We didn't see any crocodiles, but according to the warning signs, there are some. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen and snacks. There is a vending machine at the visitor center, but with limited choice.

Quite remote to access. Ample free parking. A nice walk, mostly shaded. Tide is a factor to consider, looks a bit desolate at low tide and there are tons of trash, pretty sad sight. No crocodiles or monitor lizards in sight when i visited, just the odd mudskipper and a couple of herons.

A Wetland nature reserve with an emphasis in Bird watching. Bring your binoculars if you have one, and you may be able to spot some migratory and exotic bird species. Nicely built up and convenient trails for young kids. Spotted crocodiles at the sea shore and mudskippers in the mangrove swamps. Having known Sungei Buloh since 30 years ago when it was a rural area, the current park is much more accessible and a unique pocket of nature in urban Singapore.
