A must visit landmark in Singapore. Great architecture design from the engineer to showcase the lion. Our pose brought lot of inspiration to other tourists on that day when we posed they loved the same and asked us to take photos of them with the same pose.

This is a favorite place for tourists which is a landmark of Singapore. Even though the weather is very hot and not as cool as it looks in the photos, it is very clean here and really gives joy.

Very nice place developed in Singapore. Could not give more time here due to sudden heavy showers. Good photo point. Scenic place as many man made Marvel's are around.

Nice spot in town to welcome the dawn. Can watch the transition from quiet space to high energy coming from joggers and bikers who zip by the area or take a pause from the exercise before moving again. Even the bay transitions from serene, glassy surface to its daytime choppy state mimicking the crowd.

It's beautiful! We visited in the evening as during the days it's too hot and it's a great spot to visit. You can see the amazing Singapore skyline and Marina bay sands on the other side of the water. I recommend a visit. Will not take more than 30 mins.

The merlion is like a symbol in Singapore and a must-go-to place whenever visiting Singapore. The place is crowded with tourist, and might be good to visit there early hours of the day to avoid a lot of tourist. It has a nice history and the place has bridges where you can walk and take photos with the Merlion.

A standard location for tourist attractions, well maintained and periodically having light show for festive occasions. Cooling in the evening as it is near water, just watch out for crowds

The atmosphere over here is mind blowing. You will feel awesome here standing near the Merlion statue. The view is great on all sides with Esplanade theatre, Marina bay and tall buildings. The night view is mesmerizing as well. I visited 2 times - during day and night to enjoy the place to its fullest. Fully recommend to be visited if you are in Singapore.

The indisputable Singapore icon along with the MBS which is also in sight right behinds. Some may find it too typical or touristy but I’d say it’s still absolutely worth it to pay a visit to this good-looking surrealist statue.

The Merlion, a legendary creature and Singapore's national symbol, is a must-visit attraction in Singapore. To fully enjoy the experience, it is recommended to go early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid the crowds. This photogenic place is an essential part of any Singapore tour and should not be missed.

Nice spot with the fountain statue itself, looking over the marina bay from a good angle, from here you can see the boat hotel, the artscience museum, the durian building, and the skyline from behind. The spot is always busy with tourists, and there are plenty of vendors and various food spots nearby (their services being with very touristy prices, of course)

Well it's one of the iconic things that represents Singapore, so you've got to at least check it out! There's a miniature one on top of Mount Faber where the cable car to Sentosa is too. Unfortunately the huge one at Sentosa itself is demolished...

This imposing statue/fountain occupies a prominent position overlooking Marina Bay. Its body represents Singapore’s humble roots as a fishing village (“mer” meaning sea), whilst its head represents Singapore’s original name, Singapura (“lion city” in Malay). Surely on everyone’s photo bucket list, with the Marina Bay Sands towers in the background (check out the amazing, shared roof terrace). Singapore is a beautiful, clean, safe City/State; albeit a little too sterile for my personal tastes.

Surprisingly not busy when we went there, but given that it was almost noon, we weren't really surprised. I think it will be best to visit this iconic landmark at night, where the lights of Marina Bay Sands complements the lighting of the Merlion more (also, makes for more pleasant lighting for selfies).

A landmark, a symbol for Singapore. A must go place for 1st time visitor. Iconic, you can take image all around. However, the statute is a but far from public transport, you may need to walk over 10-15mins, this will be hard with the weather is over 35°C.

The landmark of Singapore, thats it. Tho is a nice place to visit, but as the main attraction, it will be full with tourist especially in the peak season, you would not able to make those "drinking water from the merlion" photo with such a crowd.

What a great attraction and apt symbol for the nation and state of Singapore. Not only is the iconic Merlion fountain featured on all manner of souvenirs and memorabilia, but its physical presence on the waters edge truly inspires the magic and Majesty of Singapore. All tourists should visit the landmark at least once to capture their obligatory travelers photos. Make sure to check out placard bearing the poem by national poet Edwin Thumboo.

I really like to stroll down this area because you can take a jog, enjoy scenery, and take a picture with Merlion 👍. It is indeed a really nice public park, wish Indonesia had these kinds of memorial landmarks (usually they had landmarks without parks for people to take a stroll on)

A normal tourist attraction that should be visited due to it being a famous landmark in Singapore. However, in my opinion it is a little overrated and can be skipped if there is a time crunch (I.e choosing between super tree grove and this) all in all still a cool thing to look at.

I spent 5 day touring Singapore and Santosa Island. Everywhere I looked was really amazing and beautifully. Downtown with especially orchard st was fantastic with so many beautiful malls seems to be limitless almost endless. The monorail to santosa is a must do, also walking there on bridge and return by bus which I did was fun. You can do 4 full days their and be entertained especially if you know how to use transit

Lots of tourists are coming here and this place is nice for walking. You can buy foods near the Merlion if you're hungry as there is fast food resto nearby. I went here at 9 AM and people are increasing as the time passes. If you're a solo traveller, just bring your tripod or what to take your own photo just like me. 😅

The Merlion  is the national symbol of the city-state of Singapore. It is depicted as a mythical creature with a lion's head and the body of a fish. Being of prominent symbolic nature to Singapore and Singaporeans in general, it is widely used to represent both the country and its people in sports teams, advertising, branding, tourism and as a national personification and patriotic emblem of the Singaporean nation.

One of the best tourist spot in Singapore. It's a small area near Clarke quay which is well connected by the park connectors and easy to commute there through Kalang PCN-> F1 Race Track. Also we can commute from Clarke quay and easily accessible by walk as well as by bicycle. Going there by bicycle will be a best option as we can go to Marina Bay from there as well. Every place is greatly connected in Singapore which makes easy for commuters to visit all the places through the well connected park connector networks.

You are in Singapore you should must watch this, you should come in evening here around 4-5 PM and stay till 8.30 PM or so, if you love boss ride you can take that though it is a bit costlier side. There are some small shops but again vegetarian food is problem so veggies will have icecream as option. You can go the the Marina side around 7.30 PM and try to be I first line to enjoy the laser show.

  • 4/5 Jo L. 7 months ago on Google
This city landmark is definitely the most popular tourist attraction in SG, it is surrounded by crowds no matter when you come. It's strategic location at the mouth of Singapore River, surrounded by modern skyscrapers and the Marina Sands at the opposite, making it a very photogenic location. Made popular by social media, you will see lots of people posing with their mouth open 😅, pretending like drinking water from the Merlion. For less crowd, do come early in the morning.

The Merlion statue is one of Singapore's most iconic landmarks, and for good reason. It's a unique and eye-catching sculpture that perfectly captures the city's maritime heritage and its spirit of innovation. The statue is located at Merlion Park, which is a popular tourist destination in its own right. The park offers stunning views of Marina Bay and the city skyline, and it's a great place to relax and people-watch.

A landmark, a symbol for Singapore. A must go place for 1st time visitor. Iconic, you can take image all around. However, the statute is a but far from public transport, you may need to walk over 10-15mins, this will be hard with the weather is over 35°C. Being one of the most popular locations of Singapore, it gets much touristy at times. Hard to click a decent photo. Visit early morning for a good shot. No visit is complete with out Visiting the spot , evening is much better time time visit . Lights all around , Singapore flyer and iconic hotels are in the front and back drop , people of different nation race caste are capturing memories . Seat spend time try some delicious foods and then walk up to clerk query along side Singapore river by passing all landmark buildings. It's beautiful! We visited in the afternoon as during the days it's too hot and it's a great spot to visit. You can see the amazing Singapore skyline and Marina bay sands on the other side of the water. I recommend a visit. Will not take more than 30 mins.

The Merlion is the official mascot of Singapore. It is depicted as a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish. Arriving at the Merlion Park, I was greeted by the magnificent sight of the mythical creature spouting water into Marina Bay. The 360-degree Street View on Google Maps allowed me to virtually explore the surroundings, providing a sneak peek into the vibrant atmosphere and lush greenery of the park.
