Please read this review if you are considering going to Rainforest Lumina. (In a nutshell, give this a hard miss) First off, the queues for this "attraction" were insane, I had booked the 8.15pm slot and arrived early at 8pm and it still took a whole 1 HOUR of queuing before we could even enter the Rainforest Lumina. After entering, there are 3 main activity zones to enter/queue for. Due to social distancing measures, it limited the number of people who could enter at each time, so it took another whole 1 hour in total to queue for all of them, and they were all not worth the time spent. All in all, you'll end up spending more time queuing up than seeing any of the attractions. Secondly, the "attractions" in Rainforest Lumina are barely anything. Even if there were no queues at all, none of the attractions were worth any time. Being a "light" focused attraction, the lights were all dim with barely anything impressive, as if they downgraded it each time they reran it. The main attraction is the "Call of the Wild" (the rock picture) which is a 2-minute light show of a tiny animal appearing every now and then, with no story and poor music. It is comparable to a 3rd graders doodling on an iPad. The pictures shown on the website are greatly post-processed to be much brighter and nicer, but in reality the lights are so dim and hard to see. Tldr; Overall, an honest waste of time with absolutely no redeeming value unless you just want an immensely lousy stroll in a dark park with nothing to see. Not even interesting for children as there is barely anything for them to do, with immense stretches of empty unlit paths. Just go for the free lightshow at Gardens by the Bay instead, its a million times better than anything here, no exaggeration.

We booked 815pm and entered the main attraction around 9pm. It’s just a lot of walking and taking pictures of light shows. Two interactive attractions which I feel appeal more to kids. Good for one-time experience. I think the platforms oversell the tickets and put a lot of pressure on employees to keep customers happy. The best part of this trip for me was the dine-in at Ulu cafe! Satay, and carrot cake were really nice after the long wait and walk 😝

Great visit over the weekend on a Sunday night. We booked in for the Rainforest Lumina then Night Safari after. As others have mentioned, mainly focused around little ones, but still good fun. Some take-away food & drink options would have been really good, but everything was closed when we visited.

Bad experience! Despite booking for the selected time slot, we still had to queue for about an hour to go in. And when you’re inside you still have to queue for the attractions. They could have better manage the crowd for the day especially on weekends.

A very beautiful light show in Singapore. It's in the Singapore zoo from 7.30pm to 11pm. But beware there is no real animals. It's all about light symphony and animated animals. Kids will really love it as there are few interactive games. The lighting is really very impressive though it's very short a walk. The whole walk around the park is only about 50 minutes.

Some impressive graphics and lighting, definitely worth a visit. It's not meant to be an animal safari, that is a completely separate event. This is an illumination garden/forest with virtual and interactive animals. Some of the effects were so breath takingly surreal. I loved it. Perfect for children, couples or families. We have nothing remotely close to this in the UK so a big thumbs up from me. Would definitely visit again.

Not much to see and do... Quite warm but luckily not raining, otherwise cannot go, because it's basically walking around the front half of the zoo at night. Nothing that fantastic; no "wow" factor... So not really worth going if full priced... 🤭 Luckily I paid for the tickets, otherwise the hub going to nag that pay for a trek at night, see some lights, jump here and there and clap clap only... 😅 Expect lots of queueing but there are lots of safe distancing ambassadors to control the crowd.

We booked the 7.15pm ticket. We arrived the Singapore zoo at 7.45pm. We thought we're late, but get shocked when saw the super long queue. According to the staffs' instruction, we surprised that all the queueing human are booked the 7.15pm ticket. Those booked 8.15pm ticket need to wait and wait. By the time we passed the gantry was around 8.15pm. 😓 Well. After entered, we noticed that nothing is "wow". The lights are normal, the interactive corners are not interactive at all. I went with 3 funny friends, but this unable to complete the entire event experience with satisfaction. (luckily we got the tickets for half price)

The experience is akin to walking yr nearby park connector at night, or recreate yr balcony with some Taobao lights. Some areas weren't even well lit & you can't tell what you are supposed to see, IF there is something to see at all. Some stations had lame animation. Staff were generally welcoming tho we did get peeved at the 'clapping' station. Some visitors had cooperatively stood in line but the staffer manning that station chose to disregard the queue & invited a mayhem by allowing q-jumping. If you are going to condone unruliness & not respect those who stay in line, then what really is the point of having a queue system??

Turn the Singapore zoo to Rainforest Lumina, light and sound together with interactive media to light up the zoo at night. Kind a lighting rainforest with no real animal actually. However, worth a try for its concept idea. Around an hour more or less for the visit with playing most of its interactive activity spots. Not an idea on rainy day.

So my son reminds us we still have those Rediscovery Vouchers we have yet to redeem. Online we went and this cropped up. Arrived at 8 for the 8.15pm event, and it wasn't long before we got in. It was a breezy night, albeit a little humid. We walked along the psychedelic paths for an hour and a half before emerging from it. It's an unusual adventure. If I had to describe it, it's like New Year's Day in the jungle. The lights were beautiful, and the holographic images pretty amazing! In all, it was a rather nice way for the family to spend an evening, and we all had fun doing it:)

We visit on a full moon night, which added special atmosphere to the nicely lit up place. It’s definitely a smart use of the zoo in the evening and has many instagrammable lights. But even in the evening, it can be extremely hot and humid. You just cant survive without a hand fan. We got exhausted from the heat at 9pm! I think we came out within an hr...

After a morning of marching around the zoo, kids need to let off some steam and this is the perfect place to do it. At the far end of the zoo this park/area offers a bunch of stuff to keep kids entertained. There are rides (ponies and a merry-go-round) but these cost extra. There's a gift shop, where you can by swimming costumes, and a canteen to buy food plus a KFC. The real attraction is the wet-play area which is the most extensive I've found in Singapore. There are the usual water fountains but also shallow pools where kids can lie down. There are water guns that kids can direct a stream of water at each other and a large fixture in the middle with water slides and a huge bucket on the top that fills slowly then dumps its contents on the area. Great fun for kids to cool off. There are plenty of benches for adults to sit down and covered areas to hide from the occasional shower.

Nothing great. Can be given a miss. Some part of the Zoo is lighted up at night. Its basically a light and sound show while you walk through it. Some parts are barely lit and can be scary for younger kids especially after a long and tiring day. And it could be dangerous for elderly if they are not able to see properly. Some sections of the Rainforest lumina are great like the interactive zone for the kids. There are bands at the area where the walk starts. These bands have QR codes with which you get to have yourselves photographed and later retrieve those pics by scanning the QR codes. But the pic quality is just ok. No animals in this show. Can be given a miss.

What a disaster to close off the final season. In view of the covid situation, you queue for 1hr to reach the front entrance. Thereafter you queue for 15mins for your wave to go in. Its wave by wave entry. So if you buy your ticket at 9.15pm, be ready to enter at 1030pm even if you reach on time. Once you are inside, you queue for the light "shows" again. Nothing much to see. Hope to come again after all the renovation are done.

Booked tickets at 8.15pm. Arrived at 8pm. Queued till 8.40pm, went in to more queuing. What? They should have limit the number of ticket sales if they want the experience to be enjoyable.

Was a great stroll through the park! Was rather interactive and colourful! Great for kids or a date! Go later in the night for less crowds. Comes as a special with night safari tickets so its worth it! Dont buy it alone.

Very amazed by how they changed the place (zoo) to this light parade! The lights are beautiful to see and the whole path will take about 45 mins to 1 hour. Depend on the time u take to rest along the way. Roads have ups and downs, so if you are travelling with young or old, please bring along pram or wheelchair. But they can be rented there. Overall it's a very pleasant experience.

My first time here! It is zoo during day time but transforms into rainforest lumina by introducing combination of multimedia and technology. It is a very smart way of business and utilizing the space and time. Ambience wise is also good, just hope when you come it don't rain then all will be good ! Happy birthday my fiancée! Hope you enjoy yourself tonight!

quite disappointed with the crowd management ... waited a good 20 mins to get in and it started to rain... no announcement by zoo to tell people to stay in shade due to lighting and no announcement to tell people its safe... it's all your own judgement... they did guide people to shade when they see them when it was lighting alot... but no seats and it was so hot ... not worth the price even if there were no rain

  • 2/5 Sam I. 2 years ago on Google
A little disappointing. It is mostly a 1km walk through lanterns with a few feature stops, which are good but not great. All the interactive shows had broken parts which caused bottle necks to use the functioning equipment. If you've never seen an interactive light show then maybe it will keep you happy. If you've been to vivid in Sydney, then steer clear.

Second visit 2022. The first time is a few years ago. Still good to embrace the night. A time to slow down your time, to feel the night and lights with your families or friends.

Disappointing. I appreciate the need for social distancing and queuing. That was managed quite well. I have been to all 3 now, and this year was really disappointing. Once you were in, at every corner or attraction the staff were yelling at you ruining the experience. There was also a LOT of fog made by a fog machine. When everyone is wearing masks and a lot of fog is pumped into your face it makes it really hard to breath.

This is the final season of rainforest lumina and we took a 7.15 entry. It is a totally a different experience to walk in the zoo at night time. The best part is that we have to follow the lighted trail and the rest of the areas are not lighted which adds to the magical experience. Our 3 year old daughter just loved the place the moment we entered through the dreamy entrance. The two interactive zones were her favourite. A good experience for kids. My daughter was largely running around following the lights and enjoyed a lot.

Interesting at first, But, then felt very bored after you have walked half of the way. It's just light show. Some of the ways are too dark, could not see what is around there ( It would be more better if there were more light). Most of the food court were closed when I came at 9 pm .But, for kids maybe its interesting

  • 2/5 Nicholas C. 2 years ago on Google
It’s a decent add-on if you’re visiting other attractions in the area. But if you’re just here for this, don’t bother. The lightings and interactive installations are mediocre at best. Young couples might like the ambience of the place, but the kids were not impressed.

  • 1/5 Christopher T. 2 years ago on Google
Few interactive areas. Missed opportunity to make it magical. Maybe worth it if it is 2 dollars or free.

Awful. Went a couple of years ago and it was quite enjoyable but this year was dreadful. Super long queues everywhere. Too many people-makes social distancing a joke. I can't believe that they are meeting government regulations. Hardly any time on the actual activities. Honestly do not waste your money or time.

  • 1/5 Nicole P. 2 years ago on Google
After the first so called exhibit, I can safely say that the pics and videos of this event is highly processed. It was dim, you couldn't really see any of the animations properly. Two of the stations, you're supposed to clap to activate the effects, which I didn't I understand what I was supposed to see, and the other was the Lily pads. The rest of it, is just meandering the front areas of the zoo, with some lights and laser imitating fireflies. My heart goes out to the staff, they had to repeat the exhibit details over and over the whole time! At the end of it, my 3yr old niece told us that she was bored. Well, I don't blame her.

(Translated by Google) Singapore Zoo no Rainforest Lumina, Light Show. It was crowded because it was the night before the holiday. Did you wait about 30 minutes before entering? Apart from this, the time required is about 1 hour. I wonder if there were few animals. It was beautifully lit up.

Hardly anything to see...total waste of time. Also for a 7.15 ticket, the entry was allowed at 8 pm.

  • 2/5 James M. 2 years ago on Google
Bit disappointed. Lots of queuing and waiting...which is never fun in the heat with small children. Seems like all 400 people arrived at the same time for the first slot at 7.15pm. And the queuing continued during the whole attraction. I'm sure it's not easy with social distancing but I think the zoo was overly optimistic with its quotas. Also disappointed that there was so much noise generated from it...clapping, music etc. I'm sure the actual wild animals in the actual rainforest that surrounds the zoo don't appreciate it, having had to deal with the construction during the day.

Worst experience ever. Over crowded due to school holidays. Crowd totally is out of control. Bought ticket 715pm but queue was extended to River safari entrance!!! Waited 30 minutes in the line, and proceed queue for kid's lantern for 10 minutes and was told no more stocks! By then the queue into luminia forest was formed again, waited for another 20minutes to enter. Every stop was a nightmare, have to queue for every station, because it is a 1 way route, there's no short cut and no way out!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!! Kids are tired queuing, scary crowd, kids play area are not sanitise, toilets are closed! No sanitising station or places to wash our hands!!! Really terrible, not recommended!!!!
